@cmdesigner I did an early one with DS. It was at my mom's 3 hours away and I did not want to travel/sit in a car for that long later. It was a little weird as I had a tiny first mom bump only buy nice because I had more time to get what I needed when everyone went off registry.
@cmdesigner We're shooting to have my shower mid July (I'm due Sept 24) so I don't think yours is too early at all. I'm also avoiding August like the plague. Love her name and am very jealous you've already been able to settle on one! DH won't take naming our baby seriously and still throws out comments like "What about Ogre??"
@mamaber2204 Plus one to the no-underwire-floppy-boob-club. The one I got from Target isn't soooo bad but my boobs have definitely looked better. They're pretty darn comfortable though. For now I'm getting away with just having two, plus two larger sized sports bras for weekends / sleeping.-
@cmdesigner don't beat yourself up about how much time she will be at daycare! She will have a total blast every day and learn so much! And of course at the end of the day when you pick her up she will be so excited to see you! Until she hits like 18M and then runs away from you because she doesn't want to go home haha. Seriously though, do not feel guilty. It's going to be just fine!
Glad to know it’s not only my kid that does this. I feel like such a sh*t parent sometimes because I see the other kids run to their parents and DS literally runs in the opposite direction. I usually just say, “yup, that’s my kid” 🤣
@cmdesigner I had my shower with DS at 28 wks. It just worked out that way (family coming in from out of state), and it’s not a big deal. When you’re done, will you share your shower invite? I bet it’s gorgeous!!
@cmdesigner My baby shower is being planned for July 6th with family/friends and my coworkers are throwing me a little one at the end of June. I guess I dont really even know when an appropriate time for a shower is but that is what worked for people!
@diner04 I've seen people do their shower like...4 weeks before they're due. That just gives me ANXIETY.

How are you feeling?: I really fucked up my back last Thursday. I was standing on one leg while putting on a shoe and felt a huge twinge and haven't felt normal since. I've been seeing the chiropractor every few days since. It's starting to feel better, but it still sucks.
Rants/Raves: DH and I took advantage of the lovely weather yesterday and took a long walk around the neighborhood and ate outside at one of our favorite restaurants. I have a lot of updates this week. Most exciting thing is that we're getting a new car. DH told his bro about the name. There was a bit of drama and BIL called their mom to whine about it. He's such a little bitch. Sorry. BIL's wife sent me an angry text about it but then sent an apology text. Pretty sure it was after they called my MIL. Work is stupid. I decided to take the whole year off and I most likely won't be coming back after that either. My two crazy teammates are still crazy and now they're just ignoring me, which is fine with me.

@kgg2241 BIL's (DH's bro) wife told me she was going to name their (unborn, not yet conceived and not TTC) daughter after H and his bro's deceased grandma the day she found out I'm having a girl. I was going to just let it go, but then H decided he really wanted the name and MIL got involved saying she wanted us to use it too. The work thing definitely is scary, but it'll be best in the long run!

I would understand more if they were also pregnant with a girl, but who’s to say they’ll even end up with a daughter one day? In my unasked for opinion, it wouldn’t be too weird to share a family name with your cousin. Plus, that name has a ton of cute nicknames that your BIL & wife can use on their (future, hypothetical) DD!
@themadcamel glad the name drama is over, and it's such a pretty name! (DH suggested it way way back when we were brainstorming names before we knew DS's sex, and I liked it so much, but when I mentioned that what I felt was the most common nickname is, with different spelling, the name of an immediate family member - he somehow hadn't thought of that - he took it off the list!) Hope your back feels better soon, too.
@kiddiesandkitties that's exactly it! Other peoples responses are what is wearing away at me. Like, "Wow you'll have to save extra for xyz"...um so if I had a boy I wouldn't save for him? It's stupid. Also very interesting about the u/s tech saying you'd most likely have girls going forward. I wonder why? All 4 of my pregnancies have been girls but we're done after this, I think lol jk no we are

@themadcamel if it’s the name I got when I googled patron of Paris, that’s going to be our baby girl’s middle name! We chose it after my grandmother whom I never had the chance to meet. Such a beautiful name! So was the drama over you choosing this name because someone else in the family wanted this name someday? I hate when people go claiming names for their not even conceived babies 🙄
