  • What's going on this week?
Baby is the size of a side of guac or a sweet potato. She might be starting to get hiccups 🥰

    How far along are you?
    18w4d

Anyone have an appointment this week?
No but my A/S is less than 2 weeks away and I cannot wait to see my baby girl!

    Cravings/Symptoms?
I am feeling so great! My butt pillow is even helping my tailbone tremendously, so truly no complaints. I'm craving Portillos beef and cheddar croissant like whoa.

    Rants/Raves/Randoms?
H and I have a quick trip to Chicago planned this weekend, so I will for sure be indulging in my Portillos craving. #killingit

Questions? I may or may not ask this every week..... how is everyone doing with name discussions?

GTKY: What is your guilty pleasure TV show/film/podcast?
Does The Office count? I have seen it approximately 25483 times and can watch it 16482 more times without getting sick of it.

  • @galentine Enjoy your solo weekend!

    What's going on this week?
Baby is the size of a chipmunk according to Ovia and a pomegranate according to TB... and those two things are totally different sizes in my mind.

    How far along are you?
    17w4d

Anyone have an appointment this week?
    No.

    Cravings/Symptoms?
    Heartburn at night is bad.

    Rants/Raves/Randoms?
RANT: Mood is still pretty somber at work after we got my boss's news on Monday. I am so nervous about facing her with my enormous belly once she decides to come back.
RAVE: Last week I kind of turned a corner on my gender disappointment and I am now SO excited for this little guy to join his big bros.

Questions? I may or may not ask this every week..... how is everyone doing with name discussions? -- I'll just answer @galentine 's q... We do not agree on names. While I am a total fan of old, timeless, traditional names I am not big on super common names. DH basically only likes...John. No offense to all the Johns out there, but it's too plain for me. I think this is going to be a Birth Day decision (which is what it was for DS2).

GTKY: What is your guilty pleasure TV show/film/podcast?
The only show I watch religiously is GoT. We don't have cable anymore, so whatever I sit down to watch/stream is very intentional. I will say the reboot of 90210 has me VERY interested and I hope I can stream the whole season while I'm on maternity leave. Before kids, I binge watched How I Met Your Mother all the time (like every day).

  • @galentine aw so exciting in TTGP. Based on some TWW posts, I also have thoughts that a few more can grad soon (I'm hoping really hard for everyone of course, but there are some great looking charts there). // regarding names, we are not thinking about this seriously enough I think...we're still at the same point we were at before finding out we're having a boy (which should mean we become more serious about it).

@junebabyh yaas GOT, I like seeing everyone's theories and thoughts on our thread here. Also, I second the no to John! If it does become a birthday decision I think ladies should get preference based on what just happened haha.

    What's going on this week?
Baby is the size of a side of an artichoke. Also, today the toes should be the size of peppercorns. MH and I marveled at that because 14 weeks ago it's entire body was smaller than a peppercorn.

    How far along are you?
    18w4d

Anyone have an appointment this week?
Had one yesterday. Just a short one (checked BP and HB) and everything looked good. What I'm most looking forward to is the A/S next week because I need assurance NOW that Baby is growing on target (since I have low PAPP-A levels and that's a concern).

    Cravings/Symptoms?
I'm more hungry than usual. I need to make sure to have more healthy snack options around because I go from not hungry to "I'll devour a face" hungry too quickly.

    Rants/Raves/Randoms?
MH and I are going to decide by tonight whether or not to buy the Owlet 2.0 since it's on sale. That will be our first baby purchase.

    Questions? Nada

GTKY: What is your guilty pleasure TV show/film/podcast?
Guilty pleasure has to be my real crime TV shows... I feel guilty because it's so terrible but I am enthralled by it. Human beings get crazy

  • @galentine thanks! It's next Friday morning so any and all positive thoughts/vibes are welcome. // Did you guys get to a name using that method then? Once again, for all that my vote counts which is not at all, I vote no on Patrice too
  • @galentine OMG yes, I am dying! And seeing Robin makes me think of the song "Let's Go To The Mall" (by Robin Sparkles of course)
@marbellie I am 100% with you that the mom is the naming tie-breaker if comes to that.
  • @marbellie, we have had a girl name tentatively picked for years, actually. First and middle. But now that it's real and I'm pregnant with a girl.... I am suddenly commitment-phobic. I'm so afraid to say "this is her name" because.... what if a better one comes along?! LOL at myself. That being said, that name remained both my favorite and my H's favorite even after going through the name book. We only had 6 matches (out of 12,000+ names!!) and the one we have always talked about is the best of the 6, by far. So while I'm pretty sure we have decided (and apparently already had decided even before the silly book exercise 😂), I'm still afraid to admit it or say it aloud!
  • How far along are you? 16+1

Anyone have an appointment this week? Had my 16wk on Tue. Nice strong HB and trying to evade the doppler

Cravings/Symptoms? I still cannot take pills! My gag reflexes kick in at just the THOUGHT. It's so annoying. Otherwise pretty much the same.

Rants/Raves/Randoms? We are seeing like, 10 houses this weekend. Okay... not really. Only 4. 1 is in town, higher then we wanted and GORGEOUS but literally right next door to MIL (I kid you not, the next house..). The other 3 are in surrounding towns that are max, 15 min drive from current house. I'm hoping at least 1 of them pans out. I want to find "it" and we have been searching for soooo long now. Plus I really want this baby to have a room to put all the ish in lmao.

    Questions? Nada

GTKY: What is your guilty pleasure TV show/film/podcast? I like teen dramas. PLL (and now the spin off). Secret Life was great too.
  • @galentine We had DS’s name picked out for a couple years before TTC and once we were PG with him (and knew he was a he), I suddenly hated it. We found a much better one later on and I couldn’t be happier with it! He literally has the best name ever! You’ll find your girl name and you will love it so much, I just know it!!

@prpl11butterfly Good luck house hunting this weekend!!
  • @prpl11butterfly Ummm, I smell a deal breaker (for me). I literally could not. So I will cross fingers for you that you fall absolutely in love with one of the other three.
@galentine You have a name!! Yippeeeee. I hear you on wanting to uncover every possible option before settling though. Also, I kind of love how involved your H is on name discussions. Most men I know would be satisfied to discuss it once... at the last possible moment.
  • @galentineso glad your pillow is helping! No shame in needing it IMO. Names are an issue still. I really thought we were set on both and DH is not thrilled about the boys option (I swear) we had agreed on last year. Maybe if I suggest Fletcher again he'll come around to Isaac..... and also.... I saw "patrice" before even reading the whole thing and in my head I was totally yelling "nobody cares" lmao

@junebabyh I'm sorry about your boss again. When I had my first loss my boss was preg. It wasn't hard to be around her though I did have that longing to be growing as well. Admittedly it was harder to see her LO once he was born.

@marbellie MH likes true crime shows. We end up watching them frequently and I'm just baffled that people are how they are. FX for perfect growth at your scan!

  • @junebabyh I have already informed DH that there will be STRICT ground rules for MIL and niece (who I swear would live up her butt if at all possible) if that were to happen. But it is 50k ish more then we wanted to spend so highly highly unlikely.
  • @lillywonderland, thank you!! 😊 I really do love the name we have picked! And I don't think I'll find anything I love more. I guess I'm just nervous to make such a big decision!

@prpl11butterfly, good luck house hunting! Would living next to MIL be a good thing or a bad thing? I could totally live next to my parents.... but no thank you to living next to my MIL!
  • @galentine it would be rough. She has little concept of boundaries and would be around constantly. I hate when people just show up and shes guilt of that enough living about 7min apart.
  • @galentine that's awesome that your top pick has been validated so far. We have similar commitment issues about names

@prpl11butterfly thanks! Good luck with house hunting. I'm in the minority here and would love to be next door to my MIL

  • @junebabyh, "Let's Go to the Mall" is a Robin Sparkles classic, but I'm partial to "Sandcastles in the Sand." 😂😂
  • @prpl11butterfly, I forgot to mention above, but I LOVE Isaac! I hope your H comes around!
  • @galentine you and me both girl 🤣
  • @prpl11butterfly PS. Meant to say yesterday thanks for the comment about your boss being pregnant when you had you first loss. Makes total sense about it being more difficult to see her LO than her growing belly. Hopefully, by the time I am able to bring this little guy in to meet my office she will be pregnant again!
  • @junebabyh yes, I think that would have made it a bit easier. I had my loss in March and she gave birth in May so it was pretty close timeframes. In fact I couldn't even get myself to her shower (literally got dressed and makeup done and had a total meltdown just before walking out the door). Thankfully she'd also suffered a loss and was so incredibly understanding.
  • @galentine TY for the heads up!!! <3 Have fun in Chicago and enjoy the food!
@marbellie I love true crime as well. If you like PodCast Unsolved murders is amazing. I've listed to a few of Southern Nightmare and enjoyed them.
@prpl11butterfly I really really need to catch up on PLL. I got so far behind I stopped watching. I planned to catch up before the last season and that didn't happen. Maybe that'll be my maternity time binge.

What's going on this week? Baby is forming bone and fattening up.

How far along are you? 17+2

Anyone have an appointment this week? Nope nothing May 29

Cravings/Symptoms? I'm guessing I need calcium because I have been wanting milk. I don't generally like drinking milk at all. I wanted it when I was pregnant with DS too. Otherwise the cravings change, this week it was cinnamon rolls.

Rants/Raves/Randoms? Ready for this week to be over and ready for things to settle down after. Annoyed by my pregnancy eyes and that I've had to stop wearing my contacts, this happened with DS as well :/

    Questions? Nope

GTKY: What is your guilty pleasure TV show/film/podcast? My biggest guilty pleasure is probably true crime. I say that as i'm sitting here watching Snapped. As mentioned about I have a few favorite true crime PodCast as well with my favorite being Unsolved Murders, I have Serial in my library but haven't tried it yet but have heard amazing things about it.

  • @stephanie123456, I have been having that weird pubic bone pain too. I tried to explain it to my H and couldn't. I said something like, "my vag hurts" and of course, he took that as a compliment on his recent, ahem, performance. 🙄🙄😂

@lillywonderland, ahhhhh how did I miss this news!! Clearly my lurking skills have slipped this week. Congratulations on your healthy baby girl!! 💖
  • @galentine lol I seriously texted my H last night, "my vag hurts for no reason  :'(" !

    TTC #2: October 2018, BFP 02/02/19, EDD 10/14/19

  • @stephanie123456, pregnancy is so strange! Like, I'm not that big yet, and haven't gained too much weight, and I haven't pushed anything out yet, so why should it be sore?! Inexplicable! Except that nothing in pregnancy really makes sense. 🤷‍♀️
  • @stephanie123456 Awww thank you! CAN OUR LITTLE GIRLS BE BFFS?!? We are really excited (and I’m still a little in shock! I was SO expecting a boy again!) I’ve already picked out the set of headband bows I’m gonna get from Amazon so that she has them to wear with all of DS’s Dino/truck/fox outfits so I can confuse the eff outta strangers. I seriously don’t care. DS has some of the cutest outfits!

@galentine SHAME!! 😉 But also thank you! We’re thrilled and delighted for a healthy baby! Also, add me to the vag hurting club!
  • What's going on this week? Baby is as tall as a jar of peanut butter.

How far along are you? 19 weeks, 3 days.

Anyone have an appointment this week? Next week is the A/S. I am so nervous, but am trying not to be. As long as everything goes well, we will announce on social media.

    Cravings/Symptoms? Tailbone pain. I think I need a butt pillow, @galentine 😉

Rants/Raves/Randoms? I was tutoring one of my French students last night because she has an exam coming up. I literally said, “Now this is very important, so listen up. Oops. Nope. I lost it.” Thanks, pregnancy brain!

Questions? Has anyone else been gaining weight like it’s their job? Sorry, I know weight is a touchy subject. I read that at 20 weeks you should have gained 7-10 pounds, and I was at 10 pounds at 18 weeks. I just really don’t want a lecture from my doctor.

GTKY: What is your guilty pleasure TV show/film/podcast? I agree with true crime shows. Snapped is amazing. I have today off and I definitely watched KUWTK. My husband keeps threatening divorce, but watching plastic people be so extra is fun entertainment to me! Also, any kind of child pageant competition show.

@elle-0409, buy yourself that butt pillow! I feel about 50-75% less pain when I use it at work all day. It's definitely still noticeably sore when I sit down somewhere like my dining room chairs or in the car, but it's much better overall. Butt pillow for the win!

ETA - I have gained about 10 lbs too. I really fell off the wagon with my eating the past two weeks and need to reign it in a little.
  • @elle-0409 you may not get lectured at all. I gained 50 total with my son and not 1 provider (dr or nurse) made a single comment about it. He was born in Aug and by Dec I had lost every once of it plus more. I weighed less then I had in HS.
  • @elle-0409, I don't know if this site would make you feel better or not, but I have been looking at it weekly-ish to see if I'm on track. I like that it gives you an approximate healthy range for each week.

    https://www.calculator.net/pregnancy-weight-gain-calculator.html
  • @elle-0409 I would imagine that everything comes and surges for weight. For example I gained nothing, but then I've gone up 4 pounds now in the last 2 weeks (shrug). I am going to try to curb this French fry obsession (because this fry free fall shouldn't go on much longer for health reasons) but otherwise I don't mind.

@kindbytealikat I can't do unsolved crime shows because then I think I would become paranoid haha (plus I love the gratification of seeing the arrest/sentencing). But I should look into crime podcasts for sure

@stephanie123456 ahh Teen Mom 2, I watch every week. Can you believe the Janelle news? I'm glad that they fired her finally. They should've done it this season anyways because I don't want every scene filmed on a bench.
  • @prpl11butterfly That's good to hear!
@galentine This is my new favorite thing ever! Thank you!!
@marbellie @stephanie123456 Ah, Teen Mom and Teen Mom 2. I used to love those shows, but now they just kind of stress me out. I didn't know that Janelle got fired, but I'm not mad about it. Did you ever watch Teen Mum? Amazing.

  • More grad news in TTGP today! Best Monday ever! 🌈
  • What's going on this week? baby is as tall as a peanut butter jar, getting the gross white skin(it clung to me after my daughter was put on me and it feels so weird to peel off 😂 so I think it's gross! I'm a squeamish person with some things)

    Ho
w far along are you? 19w 3 days

Anyone have an appointment this week? nope, May 15th

Cravings/Symptoms? potato chips, really anything salty ughhhhh

Rants/Raves/Randoms? randoms: I haven't ever posted on this thread cause I wasn't sure what the acronym stood for but I was lurking and I relate to the hip/pelvic/vag pain. Its been so intense after work and if I sit for even ten minutes, it's moves my spine out of place when I get up and it hurts so bad, SO has to help me move 😭 I lock up so bad this pregnancy. I keep telling SO I have felt every part of this pregnancy since day one I swear. DS I got no symptoms except morning sickness til after the first trimester. DD I didn't til I found out she was there. This baby has been torturing me by bouncing off my bladder and stomach and giving me heartburn for weeks. I even thought I was past 15 weeks when I took the test cause I felt this baby jumping and moving. I was so shocked when we did the ultrasound and it showed 1 baby and I was only at 10 weeks. That means I took the test at about 6 weeks along 😳 this baby has let me know it's there from the get go😂

Questions? whats everyone doing for their pain? I want to go to a chiropractor. Doctor wanted me to do PT and was supposed to refer me but I think she forgot. They haven't called 😂

GTKY: What is your guilty pleasure TV show/film/podcast? so I never used to watch TV as much as I have the past 2 years. I'm trying to get back to it, but I still watch quite a bit. My guilty pleasure film is PS I Love You. I watch it all the time. My go to tv show is Supernatural. Or any CW DC show.

  • Rants/Raves/Randoms? randoms: I haven't ever posted on this thread cause I wasn't sure what the acronym stood for but I was lurking and I relate to the hip/pelvic/vag pain.
@andromedacorrine2, TTGP stands for Trying to Get Pregnant. This thread is meant for those who posted regularly on the Trying to Get Pregnant Board of The Bump before getting pregnant and "graduating" to the October BMB (see the notes in Elle's post at the very top of the thread).

I'm sorry you are dealing with pelvic pain too, it's no fun at all. I haven't done anything yet about the pain, except for getting a donut pillow to sit on (although I think that mostly helps with tailbone pain). I have had a lot of recommendations to try a chiropractor, but I have never been to before and don't plan to try it unless the pain becomes unbearable.
  • @galentine oooh okay that makes sense then! I wasn't sure but I figured I lurk on it often so I would post on it for once 😂 everyone told me to with DS and I never did. The pain was never this awful with them, just uncomfortable. But now it's to the point I can barely stand up and move immediately. Maybe I'll go this week and see!

  • @andromedacorrine2 when lurking, you can totally pop in and commiserate with something or offer support. We know everyone lurks threads (it really helps GTK each other) 😊
