I know we have a few other mamas here carrying twins. Some of our experiences are a little different than singletons and some of our equipment needs are different. So, a thread for all those multiple things!
Hello. Good idea I was wondering myself if anyone would want a page for twins. I'm due Sept 27th with mono/di boys but again as you know full term first week of Sept. I have an ultrasound this morning to see if they are still on track with their development. The plus side of needing to go every two weeks for an ultrasound I get to see them 😊
I love all the additional ultrasounds, I would so go nutty with worry if I wasn't seeing them every few weeks. Had a scan yesterday and my OB is thrilled with their development but still wants to see me at least every 4 weeks to check in.
Also, very much boys. They were, um, showing off their bits? The tech said she was glad I wanted to know because there was no way not to with it! 😆 I don't even mind the added expense, it feels like a slow steady slog until I hit my yearly deductible and insurance kicks in to cover everything.
Did you do NIPT or any genetic testing? Because you are mono/di, that means they might be identical, right?
My boys are not shy either about showing of their bits. We did do genetic testing. They are identical which will be fun trying to find out ways to tell them apart. Thank goodness there are a lot if creative people who have already given me some ideas.
The ultrasound went well today. They are growing and fluid is still looking good. There is always a possibility of transference mono/di. There is one placenta and two sacs.
I love that we have this twin page. I'm due Sept 20th but reach 38 weeks end of Aug. I'm having di/di girl twins! I love being able to see them every time I see the doc. I feel bad of mamas of singletons and they dont get that opportunity. I had my antonym scan a couple weeks ago. Baby A was weighing 8oz and Baby B was weighing 10oz! A little chubby girl there!💜💜
Hi @rwaller19! I so know what you mean! My last scan had one at 9oz and one at 11oz. And I still feel like I'm struggling to eat enough, drink enough, and put on enough weight for them! It feels like I'm all babies and am a little freaked out by that.
I love that the 3 of us are "due" within a week of each other! Should be fun as we get closer
I have another ultrasound on the 17th. I guess I didn't think to pay attention to how much they weigh last time. I know how you feel about eating and drinking enough. I don't always feel like eating much. My last 3 appointments I have weighed the same. They keep telling my that the boys look great. So I guess that is what really matters.
If I were having a single baby Sept. 27th would be my due date. I have an anterior placenta so I am feeling a few little wiggles and pokes but not much yet.
Hi @altobey and welcome! I feel SO much movement and have for a while now. Garlic dip makes them especially dance. DH has felt them too, but I think that is because he has always liked to lay with his head on my belly.
I had another ultrasound today. Both babies are looking good. One baby is 14oz and the other is 15oz. Looks like I am going to continue the every two week ultrasound until the end of pregnancy. I love it because we get to see them, it just makes it hard with work.
Hi! I love that there is a twin thread! I am due September 1, With di/di boy twins. I was wondering if anyone has felt less movement? I am now 25 weeks and don't feel them as often as I used to.
@tdsanchez24 I feel one WAY more than the other, just based on where they are and how wiggly, I think.
@taeleigh How tall are you? That was my biggest frustration with picking out a stroller, I'm tall and kept kicking the bottom when I tried to push it. Finally settled on a Contours Curve, since it fit me, had good reviews from other multiples mamas, and looks like it will grow with them for a while.
What are you getting two (or more!) of and what are you sticking to one of?
I just bought two cribs, since I knew they would watch need their own spaces eventually and might as well have them on hand now. I'm also debating on one crib in the nursery and one bedside until I migrate them both to nursery completely.
We are getting two cribs and two swings at least. To save some space for now we are going to have them share a dresser for now. We already have two bouncer things from our daughter. I'm still trying to decide on some of the other things.
