This is a place for those of us who have already started TTC, but have started infertility testing and/or treatments. You can express your thoughts, feelings, and frustrations on infertility. TTC can be a long journey naturally, then add in the difficulties associated with infertility, and it becomes a whole new ball game. The road to infertility can be lonely, frustrating, and complicated, so let's make this a place where we can vent, ask questions, and support one another. What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): On our own

How are things going?: MH goes in for his SA on Friday. Bad timing, but really not putting a lot of stock into us being successful on our own, so not hitting O day is just one of those things. We touched on talking about doing our second round of IVF a little while ago and we both know its a conversation that we will need to have soon. So stresses me out though, and I have been eating my feelings which makes me feel like crap.

What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): clomid with ti and progesterone

How are things going?: just waiting and SS. The progesterone is making me crazy and hopeful even though I’m only 5dpo. Someone needs to tell me to stop 🙄.

@kbrown2385 supermarket sweep!!! I saw the question and was racking my brain for what that show was called. I loved that show and shop til you drop, which normally followed after. Feeling super hopeful for you this cycle too. I have no willpower when it comes to keeping ss at bay. I have to keep reminding myself that we have 0 chance this cycle because otherwise I’m sure I’d get some tests handy. I hope the rest of the tww speeds up and flies by!
@nitnat007 I dread those kinds of chats with mh. Usually it feels better after we’ve both said our peace, but maybe not right away. Can YH reschedule the sa if it’s bad timing? I’ll be thinking of you and hoping that your conversation goes well!

Diagnosis (if you've been): blocked tube and dislocated tube

Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): tww, but benched

What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): did cd3 bloodwork a couple weeks ago, and last week I had an stp, hsg, and hysteroscopy. Tomorrow I have a laparoscopy to remove adhesions that are making one tube blocked and the other tube bent upwards. (I had misunderstood the X-ray before when I thought there was a hole. I saw the dye going upwards and drew the wrong conclusion.)

How are things going?: 😬 I keep flipping from hopeful to terrified. Mh (who suffers from anxiety) keeps getting really worked up too, but he’s mainly focused on possibilities of an ectopic pregnancy.

Any questions?: not right now.

GTKY: if you could go on any game show, which would you want be on? +1 for Supermarket sweep or maybe password, but an updated one since I wouldn’t know older answers.

@nitnat007 those conversations can be tough because there is so much that goes into IVF. I can't imagine having to go through it more than once.

@kbrown2385 Ah yes the progesterone craziness. The TWW is hard enough without having progesterone play with your emotions. FX the remainder goes by quickly!

@begging4abump sometimes it hard to remind ourselves (and others) to take things one step at a time. GL with your surgery and FX for good results!

Diagnosis (if you've been): PCOS, anovulatory, AMA

Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): Benched/WFET

What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): Currently on BCP until we start the meds for our FET

How are things going?: Benched is never any fun but I wish I could at least get my protocol for the FET. It doens't help that my RE wants me to avoid any exercise other than walking for another 2-3 weeks.

GTKY: if you could go on any game show, which would you want be on? Good question! Probably Lets Make a Deal because it looks like so much fun to wear a crazy costume and have the chance to win some prizes. But I have to agree with Supermarket Sweep as well!

@celticknotfire keep me updated on your protocol! I'm such a planner that I'm already wondering when my FET will be - and I'm still a month away from my ER! I know my FET will be in July but I keep wondering if my July vacation plans might get messed up!

BTW I'm loving all the old school game show answers!!

Status (WTO/TWW/TTA): WFIVF

What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): AF showed over the weekend, start BCP again on Weds, then SHG next week Monday with Lupron to follow the next week! Initial estimate is an ER around 6/11 🙂

How are things going?: It was good until my flow overnight was WAY heavier than I thought it would be. This is not how I remember AF being when I was on the BCP for 8 years! Rough weekend on the TTC front bit we're okay now.

Any questions?: Not right now

GTKY: if you could go on any game show, which would you want be on? Supermarket Sweep was amazing. Also wheel of Fortune. I might enjoy price is right. I liked the older versions of Password and Pyramid. And for fun I'd also love Lengends of the Hidden Temple, Guts, and American Gladiator lol those are game shows right?

@inthewoods23 Legends of the Hidden Temple!!!! That is an awesome one! As soon as I get my protocol I will definitely share it but my RE has yet to give it to me. I'm a planner as well and it's driving me crazy that I have no idea what to expect and when!

Does anybody know the name of the show on Nickelodeon that was a big group of kids playing various games against each other? There were a few different colored shirts that all had an exclamation point on them. The games were all played outside.

I CAN'T FIGURE OUT THE NAME AND IT DRIVES ME CRAZY.

I'm clearly feeling a bit nostalgic today 🙂

What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): another letrozole + progesterone TI cycle

How are things going?: fine - I'm more hopeful this cycle because I'm finally back on a "normal" cycle this month. Hoping for more than one follicle this time.

Any questions?: letrozole users - anyone get aches and pains?? I see this is a side effect listed under breast cancer forums. I might tell my RE because it's pretty back this round in my knees/legs.

GTKY: if you could go on any game show, which would you want be on? hmmm... maybe guys grocery games or something even tho I'm not that great of a cook haha

@kbrown2385 progesterone really took a toll on me last cycle - so I feel your pain. All of the awful SS. I'm so hopeful for you this cycle!

@celticknotfire are you physically feeling any better?? essentially being on modified rest has to suck - I'm sorry! I hope you get your FET dates settled soon.

I'm so confused....

I got an email about a medication not being covered (I think it's either for the trigger shot, menopur, or both). I always paid about $100 for the trigger shot (Pregnyl) which I was told was not covered, and that was fine to me during the IUIs. I did the "price a medication" and entered the alternate trigger meds that my insurance does cover (novarel or ovidrel) because I was curious how much extra I was paying by using Pregnyl and wel.... both alternatives are more expensive WITH the insurance coverage??

Why is insurance so dumb 😑

@nitnat007 those conversations are always tough. I don't feel hopeful about us conceiving on our own either and our timing was sucky for this cycle too.

@kbrown2385 I'm sorry about the SS. It's so hard not to and I'm sure the progesterone is making it so much more difficult.

@begging4abump I hope that your laparoscopy went well today! I remember being terrified for mine too so I know how scary it is.

@celticknotfire FX for you this cycle.

@inthewoods23 sorry for the heavy af! I'm glad things have gotten better since the week started. Insurance makes no sense most of the time.

@chichiphin The dailies stress me out too. It's why my participation's been spotty in them at best. I'm thinking of making here my place from now on. When I used letrezole I just had lower back pain which I'm assuming was from my ovaries. I would definitely mention it to your doctor and see what they say.

What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?): Well I just had my IVF Consult with the new RE this morning. I like her so much better than my old one already. The plan is to get my past RE to send over all the medical records so they can fill in any information they don't have. I've never had a saline sonogram so she wants to do that test and then we will be starting IVF in June or July.

How are things going?: For the first time in a long time I'm feeling hopeful. Definitely nervous for all the shots and blood work monitoring that comes with IVF but ready to move forward.

Any questions?: None right now.

GTKY: if you could go on any game show, which would you want be on? I'd have to be on Wheel of Fortune. My dad used to tape it and we'd watch it together when I'd come visit and compete against each other trying to solve the puzzles.

@chichiphin Glad to hear that you’re feeling more hopeful. Seeing signs that are looking “normal” must be quite reassuring, and I’m right there in hoping good things for you! I can also relate to tapping out of the dailies. I felt like I was in no man’s land with being new to this thread, but am so glad that I decided on reaching out here, not that you don’t already know how nice this thread is. Just happy to have you decide to pick this spot to post. Side note: I’d never heard of guys grocery games, but with a quick google, I’m interested. 🙂

@littleredm thanks for the validation. With all the questions prior to the lap, I had to have a quick chat with mh this morning outlining in no unclear terms that he could remarry, move houses, sell my engagement ring or pass it on but bury me with my wedding ring, yadda yadda...I think he was totally blindsided. ANYWAY, I’m so glad to hear that your new re is a better fit for you! Also, is your saline also called an stp? Just curious, since I had one last week. And anyway, you might be my diagnosis sister since we just found out that I have endometriosis. Knowing I’m not alone helps, so I say it to let you know I’m right there with you. But not in a I know your story kind of way, just in a let’s do this together kind of way. Basically, please be my friend? Lol. Either way, I hope this plan you now have continues to drive up hope with a happy ending.

@chichiphin I never really felt like I belonged in the dailes but here felt like home. I don't remember having any aches or pains with letrozole but honestly sometimes it feels like a blur. That's great that you feel like you are getting back to normal. I'm physically feeling better with occasional pain/discomfort if I move a certain way. FX for some beautiful follicles for you this cycle!

@inthewoods23 insurance is such a pain. Sometimes I feel like there is no rhyme or reason to what they cover and what the don't. The worst thing is when you call three different times and ask the same question but get three different answers!

@littleredm that's great that you new RE is so much better. Honestly I thought the shots and monitoring wasn't that bad but the worst part is all the waiting. Also I like to plan but there is no real planning when it comes to IF. The saline sono wasn't that bad just take some ibuprofen before and remember to breathe. I'm so happy for you to have a plan in place!

@inthewoods23 i assume your insurance reps are no good? my aetna reps are pretty helpful if I come prepared with (googled) dx and procedure codes.

@littleredm I'm glad you have moved on to a new RE! The saline sono was no big deal for me, and I'm a big baby with anything in my cervix. hopefully things get rolling soon for you!

@chichiphin the funny thing is it says the code is CPT which after my quick Google search is not actually the code 😆 oh well. Basically the letter is just saying that my ER will be covered... Or at least partially covered idk.

The progesterone is hitting me hard this round. I’m so sleepy, no amount of caffeine helps and the hot flashes are killer! I’ve had our a/c turned so low dh is starting to complain, and that never happens.

@begging4abump We can definitely be friends. It always helps to know people going through the same things. Endometriosis sucks majorly. Hopefully the laparoscopy will help your painful periods though! Mine helped a lot and AF has been a lot more manageable pain wise. I'm not sure if the saline sonogram is called an stp?

IVF meds ladies.... Around how much did you pay?

My 2 week kit of lupron, 11 vials of menopur, 1 450 gonal pen, and 1 900 gonal pen (plus gauze, wipes, etc.) was just above $2300! That's actually better than the numbers I had calculated earlier.

I am feeling so much better about this process now that the meds are officially on order and my wallet is still fairly intact 🙂

afm - my left ovary hates me right now. I'm nervous it could mean a cyst. i don't think i've had ovary pain like this before on letrozole. i'm also really anxious i'll O before my CD13 check in, so i'm temping & opk'ing now to make sure. sigh back to the stress of it all...

@inthewoods23 I am not much help on this since I am in Canada, so our costs are different. But ours were about $6,500 for the cycle before our insurance chipped in. Once those meds are ordered, it suddenly becomes so real! Wishing you so much luck!

@chichiphin between the exhaustion and mood swings, I’m having a blast. I also tested today and immediately regretted it because there’s no way it would be positive. Basically, I’m going crazy.

@inthewoods23 I was totally OOP and I spent over $7,000. That was for 14 cetrotide kits, 15 vials of menopur and 5 900u gonal pens, 1 pregnyl and one extra ovidrel booster. That's awesome that's all you had to pay. Just wait until you get the box!

@chichiphin FX for no cysts but some beautiful follicles instead! Can you request an earlier US?

@inthewoods23 yeah I don't respond very well to meds so we had to use a bigger dose. Also I don't know if anyone mentioned this but the pens actually have an extra 100 units in them.

@inthewoods23 my ovaries just don't like to produce I guess. I didn't have any follicles with letrozole, one with Clomid, and 2 with my injectable IUI. I'm not normal though so most people have much better success.

@kbrown2385 yeah we definitely had some sticker shock with that!
