  • @lilmamabebe3 I love me some T Swift! DH hates her, but depending on the day we're having sometimes that's ok.  :D
Rainbow baby Dean is due 2/17/17!
  • @lilmamabebe3 Leaving kids at a new daycare especially when they are crying is absolutely one of the hardest things a mother has to do. I'm glad that he's doing well, and that you were happy with the place when you toured.
If I remember correctly, you used to have a nanny, so if this is your first daycare experience here is a warning, if you've been through it before you can ignore me. When DS#1 started his daycare (he was 18mo) he cried and struggled when we dropped him off for a few weeks. The teacher said that after the first few days, he would stop crying and run right to his favorite toy the second the door closed behind us, the crying was just a show. Also, the first day that he ran in to his toy without crying was almost harder. I got in my car and cried because it felt like he didn't need/want me anymore (which is completely ridiculous, and I even knew it at the time.) Motherhood is such an emotional roller coaster.
  • @mrosek91 we have been in daycare before! Our first was in daycare the entire time, all through K. And DS2 until he was 18 months. We got a nanny because the daycare fed him dairy, which he is allergic to. And I won't ignore--it's a good reminder! I will admit I spent the last year with the nanny wondering if we made the right choice for a lot of reasons. And she was great with my youngest, but she was not a great employee and she wasn't awesome with my oldest. So I do feel like we finally made the right decision and I am just holding out hope that he will adjust well!
  • @lilmamabebe3 hang in there! I hope the daycare ends up being a good fit!

  • @lilmamabebe3 Awww! I remember the first days of daycare and all the emotions! I can’t imagine going through that pregnant!! Glad you’re back at work though 😊
  • @lilmamabebe3 I’m a big T. Swift fan, but I’m just not into “Me.” It already gets on my nerves, so I’m looking forward to the rest of the album coming out (in July??). I started a Labor & Delivery Spotify playlist, and several Taylor jams appear on it!
  • @lilmamabebe2 DD, who is about 21 months now, sometimes cries and reaches out for me when I drop her off at daycare.  DCP says that as soon as I'm gone and DD notices the other kids, she's completely fine.  It doesn't make it any easier to hear her little cry as I walk away though.

  • WT actual F. That’s the kind of image that will give preggo women nightmares. Anyone care to share their must haves for L&D playlists? I’ve started on mine.... John Mayer’s New Light and Your Body is a Wonderland are at the top for me!
  • Obviously a man drew that illustration 🤦🏼‍♀️
  • OMG That illustration is awful LOL

DH and I are working on signing up for life insurance. The thought of it makes me sad and I kept getting choked up (hormones I'm sure).  I would be devastated if something happen to him.
  • Just had our meeting with the lawyer to set up our trust. DH hates talking about that stuff and called me morbid 3 times in the hour we were there. But come on...it's gotta be discussed! Overall it was a success.
    DD1 5/23/14, DD2 12/5/16   Baby #3 on the way!

  • @sourlemon we are also setting up a trust right now, such a PITA
    BabyFruit Ticker}
  • @agpandme my accountant suggested we create a will and I cried all night. MH was beside himself ‘it’s just in case something happens..’ and pregnant me ‘but my babies...’ lol pregnancy is fun.
  • @emqbee my playlist for everything is just all of the fall out boy albums on shuffle lol.
  • We are driving to Chicago on Sunday and I'm trying to get packed before the end of the week. Packing last minute stresses  me out. But mostly H stresses me out because he wants to take things out as I pack them. Then I don't know where anything is and we end up with too many bags

  • @emqbee i had a whole play list of mellow songs and I ended up putting one song on repeat for my entire labor. In my defense it was a 20 min song and the nursing staff didn't notice until 20+ hours into the song...

@Beauxbaton this is my husband! It drives me bananas. How long is your drive?
  • August seems so popular in baby world! I feel like every blogger is pregnant and due in August.

I guess timing? End of November/December conception.

I feel so drained today and energy-less.

  • DH played the Eye of the Tiger / Final Countdown song a million times with DD1. On the way to get induced, then basically every hour for the next 41 hours until shit hit the fan. I never want to hear that song again!
    DD1 5/23/14, DD2 12/5/16   Baby #3 on the way!

  • @mia8263 A friend of mine and I were just talking about that in the worst case scenario.  I think my mom would likely move into the home (she lives on the property already) and care for our child.  Specific people for my horses to go to that I know would appreciate them.  Dogs can stay here and be cared for.  Life insurance would pay off our mortgage and leave plenty for the childs life expenses and our dogs.  I would just make one demand of my mother.  NO INDOOR ONLY CATS OR LITTER BOXES in my house  :D  She has 5 cats and keeps them all inside.  So gross. I dont' want that to happen to my beautifully remodeled home LOL
  • Yall I didn't even think about music to play!  I had no idea that was a thing.

  • I maybe an outlier here, but I prefer silence to music. I think my husband had a soothing music playlist on his phone because our doula recommended he prep one "in case I changed my mind" but I never requested it. In the beginning I read in between contractions (both my boys most of the labor was the middle of the night, and I forced DH to go to sleep, that may also be an outlier opinion), and then once things started picking up, I had DH read and respond to all my texts. I am part of a WhatsApp group called randomness and funny thoughts. It's mostly me, my sister and my BF sharing amusing things, it was a very good distraction. My sister and BF were both shocked when I told them I had my baby because I had been texting all morning.

@mrosek91 We didn't have any music or anything on either.  It's so weird though because when I think back I don't picture silence or anything.  There was just so much going on through the process in general, it was nice to have a super peaceful environment.
  • @heml I just giggled at some of your selections! That’s great!

I may not actually listen to music when the time comes but I want the option. And I may even...judge me not... use the occasion to upgrade my mobile Bluetooth speaker just in case ;) I feel no shame! My husband and I are the types that always have music playing at home and I feel like that will just add to the homey setting of the birth center.

Also reg life insurance. I have it but husband doesn’t yet...and I’m not gonna lie. I’ve been procrastinating on thinking about it. And every time the subject comes up, I want to discuss who we’d leave Baby Bee with...I can’t think about it so.... I’m adding it to the calendar to have completed by a certain time.
  • @emqbee Our Bose Bluetooth speaker is on my hospital packing list.

@agpandme I love dancing and music gets me hype and distracts me, so I’m preparing to have a lot ready for the thousand hours I assume I’ll be waiting for baby to come (and hopefully walking around, sitting on yoga ball, getting a lower back massage, etc). But, I’m also fine with deciding I want complete silence and keeping my playlist and speaker in my bag.
  • @ElcaB it's about 12ish hours. So we will drive half way and stay somewhere then make the rest of the trip the next day.
  • Ooh question. Has anyone found super comfy summery dresses? Everything I have so far are babydoll type maternity shirts and I’m finding that they are leading me to feel kind of depressed about the body expansion.... I found a dress at Motherhood that I think I’m going to order but wanted to see if anyone had found a go to they care to share? I’m hoping for something fitted-ish to make me feel like I still have a figure and short-but not too short for work.
  • @emqbee, body con style dresses (like the one in my bump pic last weds). I have many varieties but they’re comfy and easy to dress up or down.
