How are you feeling?: I woke up yesterday morning at 19 weeks on the dot and it was like BAM PREGNANT. LoL I thought I'd been doing a decent job of being discreet but yesterday proved to me that I am in fact looking very pregnant. It was the first time I'd put a dress on in a few weeks - I guess its much easier to hide in pants and a flowy top!
Rants/Raves: Last night I could feel strong kicks, strong enough to feel on the outside for the first time. DH couldn't feel them but I definitely could.

GTKY: What is your favorite scent? Can be a perfume or just a random smell!! COCONUT! It reminds me of the beach, sunscreen, pina colodas, rum, etc. all fun things to me!

Upcoming Appointments: My anatomy scan is tomorrow with the MFM! I'm so excited (and a teeeny tiny bit nervous)
How are you feeling?: Great aside from back aches. They're actually my upper back, not lower back, which I think is kind of weird.
Rants/Raves: DH and I are trying to figure out how to re-situate our elliptical because it's currently in what will be the baby room. DH thinks its fine to leave it there (smack dab in the middle of his room). I... uhh... struggle with that? I'm the one who uses it, not him, and sure as heck am not going to risk waking up a sleeping baby to get my exercise in. I guess we'll have to do more negotiating.
RAVE - Heading to Santa Fe this week for our Babymoon! I have an 80 minute massage planned and nothing else. I'm SO excited to spend some QT with DH. Maybe a short hike? Maybe we'll take our "announcement" photos there, since we still haven't formally announced on social media.
Questions: Anyone else feel like their bladder might burst in the AM after you wake up? Also, is it normal to look 18 weeks pregnant when you wake up, but 6 months pregnant when you go to bed? What on Earth is happening? It can't possibly be all bloat, can it?

How are you feeling?: Really good!
Rants/Raves: Rant: I need to get my brain in check. I SWEAR I felt a lot of somewhat regular movement from weeks 13-15.5. Now I haven't felt anything in 2 weeks. My guess is that either I didn't actually feel baby before or I did but then things moved and thickened and now I can't feel him as well. I KNOW it's too early to feel regular fetal movement, but convincing my brain is another story. I've never had anxiety, but this is making me feel like I'm trending that way, just because my mind isn't reacting to logic the way it usually does. It doesn't help that my midwife had a super hard time finding baby with the Doppler last week and then says she heard him (but I didn't). Looking forward to feeling kicks and the A/S to see that everything is A-OK in there.
Questions: How did people handle the suspense in the '60s?! No ultrasounds, no high tech tests to make sure things are going well. Just, "Ok, you missed your period and are getting round - see you for delivery in 9 mos!"

Rants/Raves: We revealed the gender to the family this weekend with blue candy-filled Easter eggs. I sent a picture and "We're having a boy!" to the family we didn't see in person. My 83-year old grandpa texted back "My messages don't seem to be going through but will try one more time as I want everyone to know how happy this makes me. Super- the best!" Aww.

How are you feeling?: The heartburn is a real struggle and have been getting a lot of food aversions. 😓
Rants/Raves: I wish someone could just put a feeding tube in me because everything makes me nauseous! Although I am raving about my little boy kicking more often now!
Questions: Has your partner been able to feel your little one kick yet? I can definitely feel my baby's kicks getting stronger, but my husband can't feel them yet.

@mamaber2204 I've been in the same boat with movement! I thought I felt quite a bit at around the same time and then nothing. I will feel something randomly, but I can't tell if it's kicks or anything yet. I think I might have an anterior placenta this time around. Perhaps you do as well?

@p912019 MH hasn't been able to feel anything yet. I am barely feeling kicks this far along. With DS I think he was able to feel around 24 weeks.

Upcoming Appointments: Thursday for my AS. I am really excited to see her again, but can't help but feel really anxious! This feels like one of my last big hurdles until I can "relax" in this pregnancy. With all the low progesterone issues at the beginning, my OB said there were chances that something could still go wrong, but we are hopeful all will be well.
How are you feeling?: Overall I am feeling ok. Still sick frequently and the nausea comes and goes throughout the day. Sleeping pretty well though and feel like I have a tiny bit more energy.
Rants/Raves: Not much to rant/rave about today!

GTKY: What is your favorite scent? Can be a perfume or just a random smell!! RAIN! I love the smell of rain so much. It makes my soul happy. A close second is the sweet smell in the air during the beginning of spring when everything starts to bloom.

How are you feeling?: good. I’ve been doing some cleaning today and I’m so out of breath!
Rants/Raves: I need to get better about drinking water at home. At work this weekend I fill my liter Camelbak 3 times. Today I realized I haven’t had any at all! And it’s almost 3pm! Not sure how to get myself to drink more at home.
My kiddo is on a tv detox and he is not happy about it. He’s been watching entirely too much. But at least he started to entertain himself about halfway though the morning.

This is so weird, but I use foam electrodes at work when I do Echocardiograms. I love the smell of opening a new bag of electrodes.

@mamaber2204 I remember the week, but not the fruit/veggie size comparison. Also, no clue about those women in the 60s (or earlier!!) It’s both good and bad we live in today - sometimes it causes us unnecessary worry, but we do have a lot of information at the tips of our fingertips.

How are you feeling?: Annoyingly, I’m still great! I can’t walk as fast as I used to which sucks a little.
Rants/Raves: DS had SO MUCH FUN “finding” the Easter eggs in our backyard. So much that even though he wanted to “find” more, he refused to give them up so we could hide them again. Toddler logic is ridiculous. Also, his poor cough is back (post nasal drip from his runny nose) so he (and I) slept like doody last night.

@nomangos23 My upper back hurts too, but I mainly attribute it to my job. Have you boobs gotten bigger? Could be that.
I’d say that’s normal and probably mostly bloat. Intestines are full of gas at the end of the night. I can always feel my stomach when it full now, the top of my bump gets very hard. Everything is getting pushed around! And the elliptical... yeah, that’s annoying. There has to be somewhere else you guys can put it! Have fun on your babymoon!
@mamaber2204 yes, I was feeling small movements early second tri but then not much recently. It was a little concerning! But I know I have an anterior placenta and it has gotten bigger in the last few weeks so it’s annoyingly blocking movements. I felt quite a bit yesterday when I was sitting scanning patients (squishing him, lol). Regular movements are coming!
@cammie0526 yes, the beach smell is the best! I love when we come home from a cruise and everything smells like sand, beach and sunscreen. Washing the smell away makes me sad.

How are you feeling?: Still feeling very well overall, though I have started getting pretty bad heartburn in the afternoon/evening, no matter what I eat! Also, I finally made the swap to side sleeping over the last two weeks and have reduced my overnight bathroom trips from like 4 to 2, so I'm counting that as a win.
Rants/Raves: We finally saw the majority of our families for the holidays and got to tell the last family members that didnt know. It's so nice to be able to talk about it without it being this big secret!

GTKY: What is your favorite scent? Can be a perfume or just a random smell!! I really love mysterious musky smelling perfumes, though I never end up wearing any myself (DH has an odd sense of smell and is convinced all perfume smells like playdoh).

@calliah - Can you set an alarm/reminder in your phone that can remind you to drink water? I've trained myself to just keep carrying a cup with me to each room I'm in so that it's always in view to remind me to drink!

Rants/Raves: So we got together with DH's family yesterday and telling everyone we were finding out baby's sex today and my MIL questioned why we were finding out and thought that we shouldn't. Anyways she told us she doesn't want to know so not to tell her however I am not going to not tell everyone else just because she doesn't want to know. I think it will be impossible for her not to find out at some point especially if she plans on coming to the baby shower. I'd rather we get to share the news with her than waiting for someone to randomly slip up but... 🤷♀️
Questions: When does pregnancy brain typically kick in? I have been having a few random forgetful or mix up moments at work that aren't like me. I also noticed at 7pm Friday night that I had worn my sweater backwards the entire day and somehow didn't notice the tag high up on my chest 🤣

@diner04 Your MIL sounds...interesting. She’s definitely gonna find out at your baby shower, especially since people can’t help but buy little baby girls a crapload of pink frilly everything!! Some people never experience “pregnancy brain” others can’t escape it from the second the (second) line turns pink! Just try and stay focused on one thing at a time and you’ll be okay. Maybe. 😆

@nomangos23 Have a great time in NM. An 80 minute massage sounds heavenly. Also I feel you on the bladder bursting. When I press on my bladder it feels like it could burst. That's how I usually determine if I should get up to pee in the middle of the night.

How are you feeling?: Good. I think my belly popped last week. There's a definite firmness to the bump even first thing in the morning.
Rants/Raves: I was finally able to get outside in short sleeves for a run/walk. The comparing notes thread inspired me to pull the trigger and buy the crib, dresser with changing topper, rug, and a lion rocker for the nursery from Pottery Barn since they were having 25% off. Now my husband just needs to finish patching the walls so he can paint it.

How are you feeling?: Good. I was starting to feel silly about the spot on my boob cause it seems like any time I talk about a symptom it starts to go away. It hadn’t been as itchy and the bruising seemed to be getting lighter. I was thinking about cancelling my ultrasound scheduled for Friday. But then this morning the spots were a lot darker so I guess I’ll keep it.
Rants/Raves: We’re picking up our camper this Friday!!! We’re going to test it out this weekend, camping at my parents place. It’s supposed to be really cold and rainy but oh well. We have to test out the heaters anyways lol.
I’m sitting here drinking my first latte since December… I don’t know how I feel about it. I thought it would taste better than it does, not that it taste bad. But it’s doctors orders. She told me to start drinking caffeine to help with my headaches. She said that if Tylenol stopped working she could give me a migraine medication that’s safe during pregnancy. This medication had caffeine in it so might as well start with caffeine first. I figured I’d try it today since yesterday at work was brutal (although I was working on an SOP, which is a task I loath!).

GTKY: What is your favorite scent? Can be a perfume or just a random smell!! First thing that popped into my head was freshly cut grass. It’s a smell I associate with summer and absolutely love it! My perfume of choice is dolce and gabbana light blue, although I ran out of this years ago and have yet to buy another bottle. I prefer to go fragrance free these days.

Rants/Raves: Easter was so much fun this year. We hid eggs for the first time and DS loved it so much. He also helped me sprinkle flour down on the floor as a bunny trap which I made paw prints in after he went to bed. He thought it was the best thing ever. My SIL saw it on FB and said “you’re too pinteresty for my liking” 🙄 DH’s intellectually disabled aunt also told me “wow you’re getting huge” ... she gets a pass, but still savage.

@LJMoon6 I’ve been revising SOPs/authoring reports since January (and reviewing also) when they pulled me from the lab. I kinda love it and kinda hate it. I’m (not so) secretly proud of the SOP I just authored regarding a major software change for our critical analytical instruments. Not many changes were needed!! 😁

How are you feeling?: Honestly, subpar. I've been hit with a nasty head cold which is making me slow and cranky and making the daily grind seem like I'm trying to climb mount everest. But my anxiety has been SKY HIGH, I can often feel my heart pounding, I'm terribly irritable, feel like I could cry all the time, don't sleep well, and am ready to snap. It's really starting to wear me (and my husband) down and becoming somewhat of a real problem.
Rants/Raves: See above. 22 or so more weeks of this is just not going to be feasible. Extra rant: I'm so ready to be able to feel baby move and still NOTHING! I thought being 4th pregnancy I'd feel this thing super early. I'll be interested to see if I have an anterior placenta when we do the AS. I also have had 2 small babies (5.5 and 5.13 - after my 8.8 first born) so that could be a contributing factor.
Questions:
GTKY: What is your favorite scent? Can be a perfume or just a random smell!! Well, at the moment I can't smell a darn thing! I'm partial to new car smell as well as the smell the dryer makes when you walk past the vent outside. My favorite candle smell is Yankee Candle 'warm luxe cashmere'. It makes the house smell so homey.
@nomangos 23 I get the upper back pains too. Like tight between the shoulders? It could be from carrying simple things, since your body is now balancing weight differently. Even grocery bags, etc. Tylenol seems to help a hair. And YES to the bladder issue. I will wake having to pee so badly that it literally feels like if I don’t go in the next 30 seconds I’m undoubtedly going to develop a UTI. Like @ says, that’s how I weigh whether to get up in the night, too. Have we reached the point of burning sensation? No? Staying put.
@mamaber2204 I felt movement at 12ish weeks as well, and nothing since. My MW says that since the placenta has since grown larger (and we don’t know in what location), that can be totally normal.
@ternsetc I’ve been getting that achy/heavy pelvic floor feeling too. Seems SO early for that!

@LJMoon6 don’t cancel your appt!! Nothing wrong with going in for nothing – ever!! – and always capitalize on an opportunity to sneak a peek at babe. I initially read your camper comment as ‘computer’ and was wildly confused as to why you’d be testing your computer in the woods, and why you cared about its heaters. I thought maybe you needed to make sure the wifi signal would reach. LOL!
@nomangos23 hiiii! I look much more pregnant by the time I go to bed than when I wake up. So weird! Santa Fe and an 80 minute massage sound like heaven
@mamaber2204 aw i'm sorry you're feeling anxious about movement. I've been seriously second guessing myself and over analyzing every little flutter and gurgle I feel. Can't wait until the a/s! We're having ours within a day of each other

How are you feeling?: pretty good. Heartburn and other annoying symptoms are still dogging me, but I'm used to it at this point.
Rants/Raves: Rave-- I had the day off yesterday and used it to get a lot of things done. I packed away clothes that won't fit me, organized the closet, bought a bunch of stuff at the Container Store (they're doing 25% off closet must-haves), and finally bit the bullet and went to look at strollers. Rant-- I can't remember if I mentioned this, but my SIL claimed DH's grandmother's name for her future unborn daughter. Her husband (DH's brother) wasn't as close with her as DH was, and how can she claim a name when it's not even her family? She did it in a text conversation we had the day they found out we're expecting (this was a month ago). Anyway, MIL told us at Easter (SIL and DH's bro weren't there) that she's very upset about the whole thing and that SIL has no right to the name, especially since she's not pregnant and they won't be TTC for another year or so. DH and I had been thinking about using the name, but I backed off after SIL made the claim because I didn't know how else to respond. Long story short, DH is now positive he wants to use the name and has to confront them about it. So awkward.
Questions: I had one but promptly forgot it after typing and relieving that story!

Upcoming Appointments: should have my anatomy scan in a week or two, they haven’t called to schedule it yet. Other than that just my regular monthly appointment in two weeks
How are you feeling?: mostly okay. Sleep and comfort have been problematic. Feels too early to be feeling this tired and uncomfortable :-/. Abs/belly stretching and pressure on my bladder which again feels too early and different than the last two times. Not sure how to explain it’s different but just does. Or maybe I’m not remembering correctly. Can be either one.
Rants/Raves: took an early glucose screening last week because I had gestational diabetes in my last pregnancy. Can back normal!!!! Shocked the hell out of me. I was certain I was going to fail it. I’ve never passed a one hour glucose test even in my first pregnancy when I didn’t have gestational diabetes. Still will have to take the screening again at the regular time, around the beginning of the third trimester but still, big sigh of relief for now
