Re: Group 3 Check-in (Aug 15-23) Week of 4/14/19

  • Est Due Date / Weeks + Days: 21 w 3 d

Baby is the size of a(n): LARGE banana

Upcoming Appointments: Next week for a check in.

How are you feeling?:  Pretty good. I'm dealing with something sinus related. Not sure if its allergies or what but I am full on mouth breathing. No sore throat, no anything else but not being able to breath through my nose. Super fun. Mostly fine other wise!

Rants/Raves: Wish I could breathe LOL

    Questions: Why can't I breathe :D

GTKY: spring time traditions you want to pass on to your LO? (easter,  passover,  non religious. gardening, events, etc)

None really.  I will teach him to never apply lip balm during horse shedding season  :D

  • @agpandme I hope you can breathe soon!!

    Est Due Date / Weeks + Days:  8/23 21w3d

Baby is the size of a(n): least weasel

Upcoming Appointments: MFM appt tomorrow then my OB appt

How are you feeling?: pretty good.

Rants/Raves: heartburn is a rant.  Along with trying to figure out a rnp replacement (if I want one). Rave: a big group of friends and I ran a 5k yesterday. I went as Spaceship Earth (because of my belly) and my friends went as each of the countries

    Questions:

GTKY: spring time traditions you want to pass on to your LO? (easter,  passover,  non religious. gardening, events, etc) Easter Baskets. We always got big Easter baskets filled with candy, books, puzzles, and toys.
  • I think we’re the slacker group! Either that or I’ve just missed this thread the last couple of weeks 😂

    Est Due Date / Weeks + Days: 8/19 22wks

Baby is the size of a(n): coconut

Upcoming Appointments: may 1 I have the glucose screening appt

How are you feeling?: okay. I’m having a lot of SI joint pain which is reminiscent from last time. I’ve also just been feeling overwhelmed with how much we need to get done in a short time!

Rants/Raves: my business partner is pregnant too and will basically be going on maternity leave as soon as I’m coming back— the two of us can’t seem to manage to both stay not pregnant for more than a year 🤦🏼‍♀️ Things run so much more smoothly when we’re both around the run things

    Questions: nope

GTKY: spring time traditions you want to pass on to your LO? (easter,  passover,  non religious. gardening, events, etc) not sure if it’s really a tradition but going on spring vacation is my favorite part of spring. My H is a teacher so he always has a week off around Easter and we try to travel somewhere, even if just for a few days
  • Est Due Date / Weeks + Days: 22w 4d

Baby is the size of a(n): coconut--that's, like, a really big thing!

Upcoming Appointments: OB appt on Monday. I went on a little vacation this past weekend and ate extravagantly so this week I'm trying to be A Very Disciplined Pregnant Lady Eater so that I don't weigh 983745872643 lbs for it.

How are you feeling?: pretty well! I feel like in comparison to my first pregnancy, all the aches and pains and discomfort came earlier this time, like 10 weeks ahead. So at 22 weeks I probably feel as awkward as I did at 30ish+ weeks last time (like, the muscles between my legs hurt? what?), but that's not too bad. Though I may be misremembering and will kick myself at 32 weeks for thinking I was uncomfortable now!

Rants/Raves: smell sensitivity, man. I have this cucumber-scented deodorant I don't really like normally (it's randomly in the bathroom and I keep forgetting to throw it away), but I just put it on and my pregnant nose is VERY OFFENDED

Questions: @purplg8r if your heartburn is totally terrible let your doctor know--I took a daily medicine for heartburn (rather than treating it on the spot with Tums) last time starting in the 2nd trimester and I went ahead and requested it this time too, though it hasn't kicked in as badly as I had it last time. It's called Protonix/pantoprazole.

GTKY: spring time traditions you want to pass on to your LO? (easter,  passover,  non religious. gardening, events, etc)

I feel like our spring traditions are a little in flux right now with the addition and growing of children, so I think we'll be solidifying our traditions within the next couple of years. Some travel we normally do in spring will be less likely with more kids and DD needing her own plane ticket soon, and I want to revive Easter-related activities that I've slacked on as a childless adult.
  • Est Due Date / Weeks + Days: EDD 8/16 ; 22w4d

Baby is the size of a(n): The Bump = Coconut; Ovia = Corn on the cob

Upcoming Appointments: Next Thursday for a general checkup

How are you feeling?: Overall pretty good. Some slight heartburn every now and then. Same as @cato99, my biggest problem right now are the general aches and pains. My hip joints hurt and if I sit down too long and then stand up, I feel stiff and have to waddle for a minute until everything doesn't feel so tight. @jmesue1030 In looking up SI joint pain, I think I experience some of that as well. Also, my pubic bone/groin feels sore allll the time. Almost like I got punched between the legs.

Rants/Raves: My dad is coming into town this weekend and we're going to boil some crawfish so I'm excited for that as it'll be our first of the season. Nothing really to rant about I guess except for the fact that since my dad is coming into town for the weekend means I have to clean haha

    Questions: None at the moment.

GTKY: spring time traditions you want to pass on to your LO? (easter,  passover,  non religious. gardening, events, etc): My grandma always did a massive Easter egg hunt for all the grandkids. Each egg would include either a piece of candy or a strip of paper that you could redeem for a small prize. The adults would have giant bags of small gifts and they would help distribute the gifts as we brought them the piece of paper to redeem them. I'd like to do something similar with our kids.

  • Est Due Date / Weeks + Days: EDD 8/18

Baby is the size of a(n): I dont remember...and I just looked. Oops.

    Upcoming Appointments: Not until May.

How are you feeling?: crappy. and tired. closer to how i felt around 36 weeks with my first and 32 with my second.

Rants/Raves: DH is away on business. I'm even more exhausted when I have to deal with a crazy 2 year old and emotional 4 year old by myself.

    Questions: Nope

GTKY: spring time traditions you want to pass on to your LO? we do an egg hunt every year and then dye eggs at my parents house. we did a huge garden last year but I'm skipping it this year. Maybe in the future that will return. no real traditions related directly to spring beyond that.
    DD1 5/23/14, DD2 12/5/16   Baby #3 on the way!

  • @cato99 that’s good to know! It’s not bad enough yet but I’m glad to know there is something out there if it does get really bad
  • Est Due Date / Weeks + Days: 8/21 22 weeks today!

Baby is the size of a(n): Coconut

Upcoming Appointments: May 8 for regular check-up and glucose test

How are you feeling?: Pretty good, my hips are definitely bothering me and I think I've started to get a bit of a waddle. I also wake up in the middle of the night every night and need to do a squat to crack my knees and ankles. I'm just feeling large.

Rants/Raves: I felt LO from the outside for the first time last night! Starting to feel a little panic because I haven't done a single thing to get the nursery ready. We need to paint and we're still waiting on estimates from painter, until that happens there isn't too much we can do.

GTKY: spring time traditions you want to pass on to your LO? (easter,  passover,  non religious. gardening, events, etc) Every Easter, I've been going to my sister's with DD and I love that tradition. My sister has two little girls and it's so nice to have them all together. Plus at this point we usually haven't seen each other since Christmas so it's a great way to make sure we don't go too long without getting together. For just spring time: I love making sure we get out and actually enjoy the nice weather.

  • Est Due Date / Weeks + Days: August 22nd; 22+1

Baby is the size of a(n): coconut

Upcoming Appointments: Supposed to schedule a fetal echo but been so busy with work / traveling all the time that I haven't done so yet.

How are you feeling?: So much back pain, but just on one side. Also getting episodes of tachycardia where my heart suddenly jumps to around 95-100 bpm. I have a history of this (except to a much higher degree, e.g. 160-190 bpm) and had a cardiac ablation a few years ago because of it, but pregnancy seems to be bringing it back. Should probably do a cardio consult; why not, I'm gonna hit my deductible this year anyway!

    Rants/Raves: None

Questions: Anyone switch doctors this late in the pregnancy? Considering switching so I can deliver at a different hospital.

GTKY: spring time traditions you want to pass on to your LO? (easter,  passover,  non religious. gardening, events, etc) - Nah, just eating chocolate covered marshmallows.

@EmilyA72- I haven't done a single thing to get the nursery ready either. Nor have I bought anything! And the weeks keep ticking by...
  • Est Due Date / Weeks + Days: EDD: 8/21, 22+2

Baby is the size of a(n): coconut

Upcoming Appointments: Midwife appointment in 2 weeks.  I see the MFM for a follow up ultrsound in 3 weeks to check on the size of baby boy's lung mass

How are you feeling?:  Overall I feel really good.  Some back pain and SI joint pain that is helped with chiropractor and heating pad.  Trying and failing to watch what I'm eating haha

Rants/Raves: The weather is supposed to be beautiful this weekend, and we're taking my son (14mo) to an egg hunt tomorrow!  He's going to be so cute!!

    Questions: None right now

GTKY: spring time traditions you want to pass on to your LO? (easter,  passover,  non religious. gardening, events, etc) I think next year when my older son is 2 we'll start an egg hunt/Easter basket at home, when he understands a little more about what's going on.  We're not super religious, so we don't have a lot of those traditions.
