Sorry everyone! I did not respond on last week's thread. It's so overwhelming when you realise you are 20 posts behind. I also usually check in on my phone so it's hard to comment on everything. I read everything about everyone though! I think we're all through our A/S now and on to 20-21 weeks? Yay!
Est Due Date / Weeks + Days: 21 weeks - Aug 26
Baby is the size of a(n): pomegrante?
What team are you on (Blue, Pink, or Green): Blue
Upcoming Appointments: Not until May 6 for our 24 week check. It will just be a regular appointment and no u/s this time which is so weird since I always have an u/s. I think I may have to do the glucose testing then as well. I also have to go for another thyroid blood test check tomorrow. My last one was 2.5 though!
How are you feeling?: Pregnancy wise, pretty decent. I had super horrible back pain on Friday so I just went to get a massage. My SPD also sucks. I have a physio appointment for April 26 and I can't wait.
Rants/Raves:
Rant - I have been super sick since Wednesday and it sucks. I am ready to be healthy again. Also, my in-laws are visiting. They arrived on Tuesday and are here for 2 weeks. They are mostly ok but they also can drive me insane. My MIL talks NON STOP. You guys, NON FREAKING STOP. I do not enjoy people talking to me that much at all and I hate stupid small talk lol. We went for a drive yesterday and she commented on almost every single house. And every time she sees me, she just starts talking. It's ok to be silent. She asked me yesterday 4 times in a span of 7 minutes how I was feeling. When my husband is around, it's better but he's at work during the week while I am home with them. They are pretty good about going out and giving me my space, which is good. And I know they mean well and it's nice to see them. I am trying to let it roll off and just enjoy the time.
Raves - The weather wasn't great this weekend (cold) but it should be super warm from tomorrow and I can't wait. We are taking a road trip to Germany and Luxembourg Friday-Sunday and I am very excited. I get to see Michelle Obama on Wednesday too!
Questions: Anyone else in our group planning to cloth diaper?
GTKY: Any upcoming plans for the spring? Finish my classes. Start my thesis. Start my internship. Go to Canada in 3.5 weeks (!!!!) where I get to celebrate both my baby shower and my best friend's engagement party. Survive allergy season and make it to summer. It's a busy time!
What team are you on (Blue, Pink, or Green): Blue!
Upcoming Appointments: End of April for 24 week check-up
How are you feeling?: Better, but still get exhausted pretty easily. Also, getting these strange pains that are somewhere between Braxton-Hicks and constipation, I hope they stop coming.
Rants/Raves: TODDLERS!! Other STM+ will understand why that is a rant and a rave.
Questions:
GTKY: Any upcoming plans for the spring? For the rest of April, the plan is to survive Passover prep, then enjoy Passover. Then we'll probably do something in May. Beginning of May is my birthday, and end is anniversary so we'll probably have at least one date. Then at the beginning of June is our faux honeymoon, where we're going to NYC sans kids. I have to be a client during the day, and DH will work remotely, but we'll have the evenings to ourselves at a very nice hotel the client is paying for. And I completely forgot that my BIL's wedding is memorial day weekend. We have a very busy spring...
@akuzreve we do not cloth diaper, I hate laundry, so I never even considered it. But I think there was a good discussion about it at some point. Maybe in the diaper product spotlight? If you can't find I can look next time I bump from a computer, searching on mobile is aweful.
Funny only tangentially related story. My brother (who is single, and spent most of his life in male only schools), was trying to convince me to cloth diaper. (More because he is a contrarian, than he knows anything about it.) I told him that I was using disposable, because they were easier, and I didn't want to deal with the messes. He said if it was you would you really prefer the convienence of easy clean-up over the comfort of cloth. I said it is me once a month, and I totally go for convienence over comfort, and the disposable stuff isn't really uncomfortable. That shut him up quick.
What team are you on (Blue, Pink, or Green): BLUE x2!
Upcoming Appointments: u/s and NP check-up the second week of May.
How are you feeling?: Achy. I woke up today, and my feet and wrists were randomly aching. Plus I’m dealing with SPD too.
Rants/Raves:
Rave - still riding a high from our A/S. One of my biggest concerns with twins has been the risk of pre-term labor / a long NICU stay / all the potential preterm complications. So finding out that my cervix is nice and long was a big relief. I know it can and will change, but having “room to spare” for the moment took off a big mental load.
Rant - I need to get childcare figured out for the time in June / July when we don’t have family around to help and I’ll be too big and immobile to realistically care for a toddler. I’m procrastinating - I don’t want to deal with it, lol.
GTKY: Any upcoming plans for the spring?
Get through Easter with DH’s family. Looking forward to Mother’s Day (it has become one of my favorite holidays 😂). My dad is coming to visit in May too...he’ll get the nursery painted and my vegetable garden planted for me. Oh, and one of my good friends is expecting a boy at the end of July, so I’ll be heading to her shower in mid-May too!
@AKuzReve - Sorry, no cloth diapering experience here. TBH, I felt like I had enough on my plate with just soaking and washing clothes that were hit with poop leaks and poop-splosions...then stain treating everything once we started solids. I really dislike laundry.
What team are you on (Blue, Pink, or Green): green
Upcoming Appointments: not until May
How are you feeling?: Feeling pretty good. Rolling side to side constantly in the middle of night though. Sometimes the side that is down, falls asleep so I need to turn.
Rants/Raves: none today.
Questions:
GTKY: Any upcoming plans for the spring?
Wedding in May!
@AKuzReve we are planning on cloth diapering *and* using disposable. This is our first so we want to try. Trying to minimize the waste.
@AKuzReve I totally understand how overwhelming it is to try to play catch up! Especially when you want to reply. Mobile does not make it easy! I've never tried desktop. I'm so glad to hear about your good thyroid results!! Yay!
@mrosek91 I just laughed at your brothers expense haha
@aecm I'm so glad you good such good news at your AS!
Due: Aug 30. 20w2d
Baby is a wide possible range of sizes, depending who you ask haha
Team Green!
Appointments: OB on Wednesday. Follow up for the new injections. Hopefully be able to decrease progesterone further. Hopefully get the results from the AS...or at least what they were able to get. And then follow up AS on Thursday.
Rant: DH is STILL sick. He booked off work again this morning. Seems to be feeling worse instead of better. I slept with ear plugs in again last night.
Rave: Feeling this baby move is the COOLEST thing in the world!! I smile EVERY time!
Questions: S+TM..roughly how far along were you before you started feeling regular movements? Sometimes I only get movement once (one time period) a day, other days it's little bits 10 times a day. I'm not freaking out worried, just curious.
GTKY: we have a busy spring. Getting our house packed up. Exterior painted. Some drywall cracks patched inside. Garage sale in 2 weeks. Have to list the house. Then moving.. It would be nice to win the lottery too... Ha!
@chillycanadian - I first felt DD around 19.5 weeks...mainly when I was laying down at night. It gradually became more consistent, but I’m not sure when it was “regular” - maybe by 24 weeks? I just started feeling baby A this past week or so, and he’s not consistent yet (and nothing yet from baby B b/c of his stupid anterior placenta).
Funny story - with DD I was SO excited when I started feeling her move that I would yell for DH to come run over and feel my belly...but it wasn’t strong enough yet to feel it from the outside. So after a couple weeks of this, he thinks I’m nuts and stops coming when I call. She progressively got stronger, so by the time DH agreed to stick his hand on my belly again it was 30+ weeks and she had some serious force to those kicks...shocked the heck out of him! Lol. So this time I’m waiting until I can definitely feel the kicks and rolls from the outside before I tell DH.
Upcoming Appointments: 4/26 to do the rest of the AS.. baby refused to move
How are you feeling?: I get spurts of energy but my asthma has been bad it’s causing costocondritis in my ribs so I’m really uncomfortable.
Rants/Raves: Rant: MIL gets paid to watch DS2 she doesn’t drive so she stays with us 3 days a week. She makes such a mess it’s ridiculous. She brags about how she used to be a housekeeper.... my house looks like a cyclone went thru it 3 days a week. I get mad tell DH and he doesn’t see the issue so he doesn’t say anything. How do you tell a grown woman to clean up after herself and that I’m not the damn maid?
Questions: see above.
GTKY: Any upcoming plans for the spring? dS1 soccer and track are starting soon. Dr recommended with my asthma to not be at any parks until mid June.. yeah 2 very active boys ill just have my inhalers ready to go..
What team are you on (Blue, Pink, or Green): green
Upcoming Appointments:Nothing until early May
How are you feeling?: The same as usual nauseous and light headed, lots of braxton hicks.
Rants/Raves: I am a bit annoyed with the lack of consistency with this baby's growth. It took a long time for him/her to start growing and was measuring behind for the first couple ultrasounds, so my EDD was pushed back by a week. Now since 12 or 13 weeks baby has measured 10 days ahead....make up your mind sweet child! At this rate and based on my history, there is no way LO is staying put until 8/24...which is probably good because DD goes back to school 8/26.
Questions:
GTKY: Any upcoming plans for the spring? The usual hustle of school for both kids. DD has dance, gymnastics, swim, PT and OT every week, she is pissed that there is no time for soccer this year. DS has soccer and swim every week. DD has some major medical appts coming up like an EMG and an MRI of her brain and spine (done every 6-12 months). If work calms down for DH we really need to work in the yard and hopefully finish...or even just start...the transition of converting my office to a room for DS. Life is crazy and it feels like we are in survival mode over here.
11/2010 Diagnosed with PCOS
10/31/11 M/C at 9 weeks 1/12/13 DD was born 4/9/16 DS was born 9/17 CP 6/23/18 BFP EDD 3/4/19
@AKuzReve I cloth diapered DD until she potty trained and Ds until shortly after he turned 2. I ended up selling all of our diapers and don't really want to re-invest when this is probably our last baby. I may change my mind though...but I do have 5+ years of experience if you have questions. Also your road trip sounds fun, enjoy!
@chillycanadian with my first I did not feel any movement until after 20 weeks and consistent movement was even later. With the last 2 I started feeling movement early in 2nd tri and was feeling tons of movement before 20 weeks. As I am typing this LO is having a dance party in there.

10/31/11 M/C at 9 weeks 1/12/13 DD was born 4/9/16 DS was born 9/17 CP 6/23/18 BFP EDD 3/4/19
@chillycanadian - I didn't see what others said, but do you know your placenta placement? That could be part of the movement. Also, I had a posterior placenta for DD2 and this baby, but I feel this baby less at this point. DD2 was just a bruiser. DS seems to be a little more gentle on mama.
Est Due Date / Weeks + Days: August 24 (but scheduled for 8/20) - 21w + 2d
Baby is the size of a(n): Endive, which is a shame because this baby isn't bitter
What team are you on (Blue, Pink, or Green): Blue
Upcoming Appointments: I think I'm off the hook for awhile
How are you feeling?: Just tired. But physically, besides some RLP here and there, and some heartburn, pretty normal.
Rants/Raves: I am trying very very hard to keep my caffeine in check, but I am TIRED. I have two kiddos who are crazy and a full time job and I'm busy with the rest of our life, too!
Questions:
GTKY: Any upcoming plans for the spring?: Spring is BUSY. DD1's birthday is always the first full day of spring, so that means we always start off Spring with a bang. I lead the group that runs my church's Easter egg hunt, which was Saturday, and I was wiped by the end of it. Today I'm leaving today for a work trip (after DH was gone all last week). DD2's birthday is Thursday and we are going to do a picnic dinner and cupcakes for the actual birthday, and then my parents come Friday for more celebrations and Easter. Then the next week, I travel again (just a day trip) and DH travels over the weekend for a work retreat. Somewhere in there we want to plan some family travel, but YEESH. Maybe for Mother's Day we will go to my parent's house (they live on a lake) - that actually sounds like it could be slightly relaxing. And then my birthday closes out the season in June!
Crap, @kaciegravy reminded me we also have weddings sprinkled in there, too.
@peachy0709 I don't know placenta placement yet. Hopefully will find out on Wednesday when we get whatever AS results are available. I assume not anterior, since I have been feeling movement. And even DH got to feel a "kick"! It's just infrequent and inconsistent. People talk about kick counts, but not sure when you're supposed to be able to start doing that haha. I certainly couldn't now. Sometimes baby is super active for 20 min, and then nothing for 5 hours. And other times I get a few hours where I feel a couple movements each hour.
2 days ago I started freaking out a bit because I hadn't felt anything all day. I couldn't go to sleep until I felt baby move a bit. I'm so silly haha.
@chillycanadian Silly?? Not at all. I'm a TTM and I have been doing the same thing!! Remember, baby is just now getting to be about a pound or so - so you'll start to feel more consistent kicks after that.
@akuzreve I had my first prenatal
massage last week and I found the lying on the side position kind of weird. It
wasn’t a bad experience but it was a little strange to be positioned that way.
What did you think? I considered cloth diapers but when my mom described how
you have to scrape the poop out I passed. I am a weenie though.
@mrosek91 I’m sorry you’re having those pains and I hope
they stop. Have you talked to your dr about it?
@aecm Congrats on your TWO boys! So fun and exciting. I
was told my cervix is a bit long too at my appt the other day. My dr described
the cervix as the basket of a hot air balloon so it’s good when it’s a little
long
@kaciegravy The sleeping on the side can be annoying,
especially when you know you are supposed to be doing it. I often wake up on my
back.
@chillycanadian I’m a FTM, but one thing I’ve noticed is
that movement can vary seemingly based on baby’s position. I have a real mover
over here but I’m pretty sure he was feet down the past few weeks and switched
to head down over the weekend (he was head down at the AS yesterday). I was
feeling more movement before and a little less now, although sometimes they are
bigger movements. My dr said we wouldn’t start kick counts until 26 or 28
weeks, so I think until then you can expect they will be sporadic to a degree.
He also said if I’m not feeling him move to drink something cold or sugary and
then sit somewhere quiet to see if that perks him up.
@mia8263 That is so annoying that your MIL is making a
mess. It’s something I’d have YH address if you address it.
@allycat11 That is odd on the growth but it sounds like it’s
trending a good direction at least. My dr also said u/s’s can be a week off
either direction just due to error so that could be part of it.
@peachy0709 When we were doing fertility treatments I cut
back my caffeine a lot. Now what helps me is drinking smaller amounts of caffeine
(a decaf coffee, green tea, etc, things that have 40 or less mg) a couple times
a day as opposed to one big dose, that way when I fade a little in the
afternoon I can have something without going over the recommended amount. However,
I don’t have kiddos so idk if this would help!
Est Due Date / Weeks + Days: 8/29 / 20w5d
Baby is the size of a(n): Banana I think?
What team are you on (Blue, Pink, or Green): Blue
Upcoming Appointments: Had our AS yesterday and everything looked great. Baby boy was measuring three days ahead. At first the tech said she wanted to see him move and then he wouldn't stop moving.
How are you feeling?: Good. I feel very lucky. Aside from my allergies being worse while pregnant and on and off pregnancy insomnia I am having an easy time of it. Emotionally it's reassuring because I feel him often.
Rants/Raves: Not a major rant but this is the third u/s where one of our pictures is of LO's boy parts. Guys, I know he's a boy, I don't need you to keep memorializing his baby junk.
Questions: My dr said the AS looked good. He gave me the print out of all the info which he had checked off. One measurement was "FL" and it was the lowest - like most measurements we were at the higher end of average but for whatever that was we were at 11%, which was still within range. Just wondering if anyone knows what that is?
GTKY: Any upcoming plans for the spring? We have a bunch of weekends coming up with activities - Seder this weekend, wedding the next, I have a bachelorette party in May, and then I think we are going to go on a little baby moon and then go visit my family in late May.
@zamora_spin I’m not 100% sure, but if I had to guess I would think that FL is “femur length” - the big bone in the top of the leg? I don’t remember them measuring it with the twins but for some I distinctly remember it being measured during DD’s A/S.
@mrosek91, I'll have to search for it. LOL at your BIL.
@aecm, yay for 2 boys! How exciting! I also hate laundry haha. Glad you got good news at your a/s about cervix. Your story about baby kicking made me laugh because we just had a similar experience. I kept telling H to put his hand to feel the baby but the baby would stop kicking once he did and he was so over it. Finally, I said to just leave your hand there and see and baby kicked SO hard. My H was shocked. It was so great.
@kaciegravy, the primary reason that we are doing it is the environmental impact of disposables. We are already a minimal waste household so the idea of the waste in disposables was killing us. Since I do hate laundry, we are going to go with all-in-twos where the cover can be reused and you switch out the liners. The liners will dry much quicker than the covers.
@chillycanadian, it is so cool to feel the baby move. Not a STM+ but I still don't feel him regularly though he is SO active. It's just in spurts. Sometimes purely at night and sometimes in the day. I've been feeling him for such a long time and he is much more active now but not consistent yet.
@Allycat11, that's so crazy with the growth. You literally don't know when it's going to happen (not that any of us do haha) but hopefully, they can give you some semblance of a timeline. What was your original due date? So glad to hear you have experience as I may pick your brain one day!
@zamora_spin, i've only ever gone to a place where they had the cutouts in the table. I really hate being on my side so I can't imagine I'd enjoy a massage on my side. My arm goes numb. For the cloth diapers, you can get a diaper sprayer attached to your toilet and spray it out once they start eating solids. Until then, if baby is BFed, the poop is water soluble so it's not a big deal. I'm also grossed out easily but I think this will help with it. So happy to hear that your A/S went well! I'm not sure what FL is but hopefully, the STM+ may and can help? Also so weird about the pictures! We got one when they confirmed it was a boy and that was weird enough.
@aecm That makes sense and after doing some googling seems like the right answer. I was worried for a hot second it was "fluid level" and it seemed concerning for it to be the lowest measurement. It will be interesting if this dude has short legs as DH and I both have long legs for our bodies! We'll see.

If work calms down for DH we really need to work in the yard and hopefully finish...or even just start...the transition of converting my office to a room for DS. Life is crazy and it feels like we are in survival mode over here.
1/12/13 DD was born
4/9/16 DS was born

@chillycanadian with my first I did not feel any movement until after 20 weeks and consistent movement was even later. With the last 2 I started feeling movement early in 2nd tri and was feeling tons of movement before 20 weeks. As I am typing this LO is having a dance party in there.

@akuzreve I had my first prenatal massage last week and I found the lying on the side position kind of weird. It wasn’t a bad experience but it was a little strange to be positioned that way. What did you think? I considered cloth diapers but when my mom described how you have to scrape the poop out I passed. I am a weenie though.
@mrosek91 I’m sorry you’re having those pains and I hope they stop. Have you talked to your dr about it?
@aecm Congrats on your TWO boys! So fun and exciting. I was told my cervix is a bit long too at my appt the other day. My dr described the cervix as the basket of a hot air balloon so it’s good when it’s a little long
@kaciegravy The sleeping on the side can be annoying, especially when you know you are supposed to be doing it. I often wake up on my back.
@chillycanadian I’m a FTM, but one thing I’ve noticed is that movement can vary seemingly based on baby’s position. I have a real mover over here but I’m pretty sure he was feet down the past few weeks and switched to head down over the weekend (he was head down at the AS yesterday). I was feeling more movement before and a little less now, although sometimes they are bigger movements. My dr said we wouldn’t start kick counts until 26 or 28 weeks, so I think until then you can expect they will be sporadic to a degree. He also said if I’m not feeling him move to drink something cold or sugary and then sit somewhere quiet to see if that perks him up.
@mia8263 That is so annoying that your MIL is making a mess. It’s something I’d have YH address if you address it.
@allycat11 That is odd on the growth but it sounds like it’s trending a good direction at least. My dr also said u/s’s can be a week off either direction just due to error so that could be part of it.
@peachy0709 When we were doing fertility treatments I cut back my caffeine a lot. Now what helps me is drinking smaller amounts of caffeine (a decaf coffee, green tea, etc, things that have 40 or less mg) a couple times a day as opposed to one big dose, that way when I fade a little in the afternoon I can have something without going over the recommended amount. However, I don’t have kiddos so idk if this would help!
@peachy0709, enjoy your caffeine - you need it!
