Re: April Symptoms

  • Anyone else getting mild cramping stretching feeling in their hips?? I feel like I'm widening?! Just let me sleep until the babies here
  • Loading the player...
  • @swedishmeatball yes I have that. And I’m with you.. wake me up when it’s baby time.
  • Is anyone else super irritated over random things? I feel like such a jerk! I was extra short with my students today, then I got home and my husband is sick. With my extra sensitivity to smell, I lost it completely because he (TMI) stink up both bathrooms in our house. I yelled at him “well I guess I’ll just go outside when I need to go to the bathroom!” I can laugh about it now, but holy hell I was angry!
  • @ejoseph16 not anger, but it I’m having irrational crying. A few days ago I cried because my husband ate the last muffin. Then I cried when I realized he saved it for me. Then I cried because I was crying over muffins.

The emotions are real. Just lean in and have a laugh at yourself when you can!
  • @ejoseph16 @megmac2010 I cried this morning when my dog ate a dead mouse during our walk 😭🤮
  • The exhaustion is unreal. Yesterday I just sat in my car for 20 minutes because the thought of walking up our stairs (1 level) was too daunting. And even though I’m exhausted. I’m not necessarily sleepy. So I’m stuck in this frustrating haze of wanting to be active and do things but having no energy to get off the couch. And when I start thinking about it, and everything my husband is going to support me I get more frustrated and start crying, which makes him feel awful and then I feel worse too.
  • @greenestacorn I totally would have cried over that. And also probably thrown up.

@kmb412 I hear you. I just woke up from a nap that I HAD to take, but I’ll be up all night now.
  • @megmac2010 yep the throwing up was close to happening lol!!
  • @kmb412 exhaustion is brutal. I went and did stuff with the kids yesterday till about 2pm, then was completely wiped out the rest of the day. Took a 3 hour nap, but felt like I could've just slept the rest of the night. It's so frustrating because my brain wants to go do more but my whole body rejects it.

  • My nausea is usually fine until later in the afternoon. I’ve been taking unisom/B6 in the morning, zofran in the afternoon and unisom/B6 before bed.
I get hot flashes and then I’ll be super
    cold. It’s crazy.
I have to pee a lot but that just started a few days ago, right around 9 weeks. I work in an infant room at a daycare center so it’s hard to get a potty break all the time! Fortunately we were at ratio on Thursday and Friday so I could go whenever.
I’m so tired. I want to go to bed as soon as I get home.
And the zofran is making me constipated so that’s fun.
Hopefully the nausea starts to get better soon! For all of us!

  • @alm52386 My nausea is the same.  It hits me around 4-5 in the afternoon.  I'm also having trouble falling asleep.  Before becoming pregnant I always took melatonin.  I have a doctor's appointment tomorrow so I plan on asking her about that.  I also am constipated now :( so that's fun.  Will be glad when this phase is over!
  • I think I have hemorrhoids- so itchy!!
  • After having a few close calls and almost vomiting last week, it finally happened last night. I'm just glad I ate bland chicken noodle soup for dinner. Ugh.

  • @gumby22c during my last pregnancy I would only vomit in the middle of the night. I would wake from a dead sleep around 3am and run to the bathroom. It was awful. I hope you don't get sick every night. Mine was sporadic and it was bad enough. I couldn't imagine every night.
  • @emeraldcity1214 that sounds awful! I only threw up in the morning last pregnancy, so this was new. But for the last week my nausea had been its worst at night, so we'll see if it continues.

At first, I had headaches and awful constipation.  Now I have a nasty taste in my mouth that won't go away, even with tooth brushing. And more saliva than normal. It all kinda makes me more sensitive to gagging.  Also, each day presents new food cravings and aversions. Depending on the day, I either want protein or carbs. I was doing really well not eating sweets before getting pregnant but now, sometimes a cookie is the only thing that sounds good.
  • Just when I think I'm feeling better...I vomit out of the blue. I hate being sick at work. All I want to do is get back in bed and sleep it off. I've been taking B6 to ease the nausea and only eat bland foods in small amounts. I am definitely feeling better than last week...but this just sucks.
  • @mvc003 I feel you! Not work, but I went for a walk this morning and felt great when started out. By the time I made it back home 30 minutes later, I barely made it in the house before throwing up. I was 2 seconds away from being the talk of the neighborhood today. It came out of nowhere! Now I'm nervous because I've got a 2 hr appt at the car dealership this afternoon to have a recall fixed and hoping I can keep it together there 🤦‍♀️

  • @gumby22c ugh the worst!!! But lol-ing at almost "being the talk of the neighborhood". I hope you make it through your appt at the dealership sans vomit!

@mvc003 thank you! So far so good, anything lemon flavored has been helpful with my nausea this time. So I've been sipping on lemonade since we got here and doing ok. And for real, my neighborhood has a private FB group and I just was picturing some posting asking about the poor lady throwing up in their yard this morning if it had happened🙈🤦‍♀️

  • Anyone else having a hard time with getting water in? The first few weeks I couldn’t get enough—90-100 ounces a day. Now I hate it. I have this bad taste in my mouth all the time and water just does not taste good. I’m trying though...😐
  • This happened today but also about a week before I found out I was pregnant. I was hysterical laughing with my son and it almost turned into hysterical crying. Like my brain got confused about how I was feeling. I had no sadness come over me but my scrunched up laughing face almost turned into a legit ugly cry, it took me a sec to regain control. This has happened to me in the past too but only during sex where I'll inexplicably and uncontrollably start laughing or crying or even both at the same time🤣😭 (sorry for the TMI). Brain chemistry and hormones are weird 🙃

@gapmom2109 I get the nasty taste in my mouth as well. I've found lemon flavoring helps get rid of it (sorta). Lemon water has been my jam for the last couple weeks.

  • I have felt queasy all day. Like it kicked into a higher gear. Nothing sounds good to eat. Even the food I went out of the way to get for lunch sounds repulsive now.
  • So far I feel the exact way i did early on in my pregnancy with my daughter. Water is gross (I add lemons or oranges to make it tolerable), I’m constantly hungry but nothing sounds or tastes good when I need to actually eat it, tons of acne popping up as of last night (mostly on my chin) and so gassy. Pregnancy is so glamorous 😂
  • @emeraldcity1214 sorry you're feeling so lousy now! It sucks.

Nothing ever sounds good, but Olive Garden sort of sounded good tonight. Barely. We went and it didnt live up to my expectations, all because of my stinking aversions. It was sad, I couldnt even enjoy the salad and breadsticks that I normally love.

  • @gumby22c Olive Garden does sound good. 😂
  • I’ve had almost no nausea until I threw up for the first time yesterday in an airport bathroom (ugh). But I have had extreme tenderness/soreness in my groin area, just a little lower and inser from my hip bones and not far from where my ovaries might be. Has anyone else experienced this? It’s especialy noticeable if I try to move quickly, like to jog across a busy street to avoid traffic. Strange?
  • I’ve never been one to have sore boobs during my period but boy do they hurt now!! It’s the worst after I go for a walk and it’s cold out. My nipples literally burn!
@greenestacorn Completely agree on this one! I’ve never had sensitivity before either, and the last few weeks have been unbearable. After a cold walk outside I had to  take a 20+ minute shower to get my nipples to stop feeling like needles were being stabbed into them!
  • I got everything last week; constipation, moodyness, nausea, no sleeping, and headaches. Called my MD after I had to call out of work and they said 1/2 tab of Unisom at night might help and boy did it make a difference. Still a little nauseous but I feel like a human again.
  • @gapmom2019 that same thing is happening with me on and off. Sometimes water is my best friend. Then, later in the day, I can't stand the stuff and it takes my will power to swallow it.
  • Has anyone tried Diclegis? I started them on Thursday night since unisom/b6 wasn't working and neither was zofran. I was surprised my insurance covered it. I've been taking 2 at night and 1 in the morning but might add one in the afternoon tomorrow if I still have evening nausea today.

@gapmom2019 I started drinking gatorade and lemonade instead of plain water. The only water I really like is cold with ice through a straw. I just bought some ice cube trays for work. I got the gatorade powder so I can make it not as strong flavored as if you buy it already made.

Some of you mentioned not being able to brush your teeth! Some nights all I can do is quickly brush over everything with water only. Mint makes my nausea worse so last pregnancy I got kids toothpaste and did the same this time.

I also have lemon candy at work that I need to try. I'm not a fan of ginger so I'm hoping lemon will help some.

The zofran was making me constipated so I'm glad I'm not taking that anymore! I also have dry mouth but I'm not sure if that is pregnancy relaed or a side effect of the Diclegis.

  • @alm52386 I haven't tried any morning sickness meds as mine seems to have subsided but the struggle is real for brushing teeth. At night and in the morning I can only manage to brush my clenched teeth (and absolutely no tongue brushing 😷). Mid-day for some reason I can manage a thorough brushing. Same thing with taking prenatals...has to be middle of the day although I'm sure AM is optimal.

    Good luck with the declegis!
  • Re: exhaustion! I have literally closed the doors and curtains to my office and taken a 20 minute nap on the floor a couple of times, because I wasn't sure I could stay away and functioning any longer. Nausea didnt help that either.
  • Also, any one else gone from diarrhea last week to constipation this week?? Ugh!

  • Olive Garden sounds so good... really just the big salad and breadsticks right now.

I'm feeling pretty self conscious today, just feeling like I look pregnant at this point and its getting hard to hide. I'm 11+1. The only jeans that fit me are my side panel maternity jeans but they are baggy in the butt, so they look awful. Really nothing looks good on me and I don't feel good in anything other than leggings right now, which I shouldn't wear to work every day.

@creamcheeseplease all I wanted was salad and breadsticks and I couldnt enjoy them like I wanted 😭

  • @creamcheeseplease I was craving Olive Garden on Friday and made my husband go but it was a let down :(
  • @gumby22c and @Rawa1416 it is so disappointing when you eat something you were craving and it doesn't taste as good as you thought!
