I am 10w4d and this afternoon I had strange cramps...they weren’t period painful but I definitely felt them. Then I went to the bathroom and my discharge is a light pink. One time when I wiped there was a small streak of blood. Is this considered spotting? I’m really nervous
@emeraldcity1214 they are closed and there isn’t a hotline or anyone I can talk to so I will have to wait until the morning. I’m trying not to stress but I’m so nervous.
@amanda8kens drink plenty of water (dehydration can bring on cramps) and rest as much as possible. Hopefully the spotting will stop and you won't see it again.
Thank you ladies! It didn’t continue through the night nor have I seen anything today. I talked to my doctor and they did not seem concerned and said unless it starts again, they don’t need to see me. I still want that reassurance though. Thinking I will go to an imagining center to get it checked out. Or do I just need to take a chill pill? My next appointment is not until the 24th.
Had a little brown discharge tonight, hoping its from my ultrasound last Thursday since the tech had a hard time finding my left ovary or possibly from the 2nd empty sac they found. I know brown is ok but its nerve wracking all the same. I have another ultrasound on the 26th which cant come soon enough.
@kimmer1412 Hugs. I know how stressful it can be even when you have a rational explanation for what is causing it. I hope it has stopped and your mind is more at ease.
Thanks ladies, I laid down last night right after and drank a bunch of water and had no other issues since so guessing it was probably just from my ultrasound last week since the tech had to do some pushing/prodding to find my left ovary.
I had some red spotting last night. I know with my SCH, I probably should have expected it, but it brought back a lot of the anxiety I was feeling earlier on in this pregnancy. It didn't last long, and my OB's office said it was nothing to worry about, so I'm trying to be positive. I was finally feeling a little less incapacitated by the nausea yesterday, so I think I may have tried to do too much. I'm trying to take it easier today and drink a lot of water.
@abbsters-2 I'm sorry you started spotting. Have you had your SCH rechecked? They can grow as easily as the shrink/heal. Did they tell you to rest more? I have been on modified bedrest to help mine heal.
Thanks, @emeraldcity1214. I haven't had it rechecked, since my doctor didn't seem worried about it, and I hadn't had any symptoms before last night. I was on pelvic rest, and told to avoid lifting anything over 15lbs, but they told me today to avoid any housework for the rest of the day. I think I'm going to try to stay on the couch as much as possible until my next appointment.
Ok... looking for some peace of mind. I have been super constipated the past few days. Yesterday, I finally had an urge to go. I had to really push. When I wiped, there was a slight pink drop in my otherwise normal discharge. I tried not to panic, just keep an eye on things. There was no more the rest of the day. Not even discharge.
This is morning I woke up and went to the bathroom (no BM), I had normal discharge with a little brown spot in it. Nothing else since then.
I plan to call my OB tomorrow to inform them, but I don’t think this is anything to worry about, right?
@ejoseph16 when I had wrote about my spotting above, that was after a really strenuous BM. When I had wiped and saw blood, it was after I had finished going and tmi but straining. I believe my strange cramps were also due to constipation. When I called the doctor she said that it’s very common due to irritating the cervix. I went down a rabbit hole of forums and so many moms experience this and everything is okay. Obviously call your doctor tomorrow but I would not stress too much. I also take a stool softener and drink Metamucil everyday and my constipation is way less severe. Sending you positive thoughts!
Thanks @emeraldcity1214 and @amanda8kens ! I haven’t had any more, so I know it was nothing. My mom said she had the same thing through her pregnancies as well.
Well... wiped this morning and saw red. Called in to work who told me to stay home and keep my feet up. Called the doctor, the nurse says “this can still be normal, but I’ll talk to the doctor when she gets in”. I mean... I don’t by any means want to MC, but at what point do we look and add everything up? Am I just being negative?
@ejoseph16 I'm sorry you are going through all this. With my first I had a friable cervix so I had a lot of spotting, especially after a BM or sex, but could see it for days. Everything ended up being fine, so sometimes spotting really is nothing to worry about. Did you have a blood draw for HCG yet? You could ask to be brought in to check levels, or for another ultrasound to check growth. I hope for good news!

@ejoseph16 I'm sorry you're still spotting. If I were you I would request a blood draw for betas. Just to make sure your numbers are good. When is your next US?
@ejoseph16 I'm sorry that you're having spotting again.. I would definitely try to speak with the doctor when they get in. I think you have a follow up u/s scheduled as well?
I’m headed to the doctor now. She wants me to come in for a quick Q & A to ease my mind. I’m strongly considering asking for a blood test to calm me down. I have a whole list of questions. I’m feeling reassured already but I’m still terrified. The bleeding has stopped.
Quick update. We are “in limbo”. My ultrasound Monday showed a yolk sac but no embryo, hence no heartbeat. I’m measuring 7 weeks, so I fall into the “suspicious” range towards miscarriage, meaning I could be miscarrying or just measuring small. Unless I pass tissue and clots, they can’t do anything. I’m keeping my appointments on Friday of next week for an ultrasound and a follow up. I was told to “be prepared for the worst, but hope for the best”. I’m just thankful to have finally talked to my doctor instead of a nurse or ultrasound tech.
@millpe No. she said in this stage of pregnancy it’s normal for hcg and betas to drop, so it really wouldn’t give us any definitive answers. She says the only thing we can do is the good old fashioned waiting game. My husband and I have prayed together more times this week than we have our entire marriage. We just keep praying that this baby sticks and grows into a healthy baby. But if not, I think we are both coming to a peaceful place that God has a plan for us and we have to accept it.
