So I failed. I don't remember by how much, I'd have to ask I don't think it was drastic though. I do notice when I have too much of a sweet tea or juice I get pretty anxious/alert/have a hard time sleeping. Which is why I've been avoiding those, also I don't really have a sweet tooth and am at a normal weight. When I was getting my blood drawn the lady told me a lot of woman fail and doesn't necessarily mean you have diabetes but anything is possible but still not to worry. I go this week for my 3 hour, every hour on the hour testing. They did tell me to fast the night before, nothing past midnight and to arrive early 7/8 AM because by the end I will be starving. I was told I'm not allowed to leave at all for the 3 hours of testing. If they let me, my plan is to go in looking like a bum and take a nap through each hour between testing. The lab room is dark and cold and barely any sunlight while the news channel is on. I could barely keep my eyes open for the one hour appointment I failed.
Just came to post my experience and hear about others! Did you fail too? By how much? Does anyone know what happens if I end up also failing the 3 hour???Β
Re: Glucose testing?
The 3 hour isnβt fun.... and you may feel a tad sick. I got a killer headache from the sugar crash. But otherwise, it wasnβt bad.Β
Background: I had gestational diabetes with my first pregnancy.... my 2nd pregnancy I failed the one hour and passed the 3 hour so no gd with 2nd pregnancy....Β
i have been randomly testing my blood sugars 3-4 x a week and after random meals and no numbers send me into alert thinking I will have it this time.
i am planning on failing the 1 hour, since thatβs what I do and having to sit through the dreadful 3 hour though
i usually bring my iPad and reading material and they let me sit in the employee lounge which is nice at least, until they all start coming in to eat
I'll try to remember to post a picture when I'm home. I'd love to see a pic of your work! (Maybe put it in randoms, since this is the GTT thread. Sorry girls!)
The 1hr is more of a screening. The 2hr and 3hr are much more accurate and many that fail the 1hr go on to pass the 3hr no problem.Β
I did the 1hr early again this time around and failed. Took the 3hr and passed. Have to take the 1hr again tomorrow which I'm positive I will fail, then have to take the 3hr again soon. So 4 GTT this pregnancy. Don't be too jealous ladies πππ

I did the 3 hour yesterday and passed. Can't imagine having to do that multiple times π©
You don't want to risk it and your Dr won't either. This is baby #5 and I've done the 3hr with every single pregnancy, actually did it twice this pregnancy. I failed the 1hr this time around with the lowest number I've ever gotten on the 1hr, a 144, and still had to do it. You've had worse tasting drinks in a bar for fun and felt much worse afterwards with a hangover I'm sure. Time to put your big girl panties on and just do it.Β
ETA: I have 4 kids, a small farm, a husband that travels for work, and the hospital I have to do it at is 45mins away. I get how big of an inconvenience it can be to have to take that much time out of my day for the test, but it's absolutely worth it to make sure your LO is safe.Β

Your ticker is hilarious right now. It says, "My baby is the size of Steven Depolo / flickr." Haha. Something is off what that API call.Β
Phlebotomist is onsite, not sure if they send to lab for processing.Β I had orange...
@jmh1696 I'm glad it went fast for you and you passed!Β
