We've been crazy busy these last few weeks. I feel like I go days now before checking the boards.. I will be out of orientation next week and finally working a normal (3-12s) schedule! Im so excited to be back to being home more with this sweet face!Β Β
@sgrn18 How cute is he!!Β We have the "Beat Belle" version of that same toy, and are they not THE most annoying baby toy songs you have ever heard?!Β The volume is just a liiiiittle too high and the songs are just a little too catchy - my husband and I sing them constantly now and they drive us nuts.Β Of course, N loves it!
Taking a minute to AW/complain re: end of pregnancy.Β So with Nora, my water broke a month early, we didn't believe that was what happened but went to the hospital to be safe, and they just said "Yup, you're having a baby today!"Β Not having had to anticipate REAL labor (since it was not even on our radars yet), I'm hyper conscious thinking about it this time around.Β Well, I'm 36 + 4 today and definitely had real contractions last night... that ended after about an hour and a half.Β All day, I've been crampy with lots of pressure, but no more contractions to speak of.Β The uncertainty is driving me nuts!Β I have a doctor's appointment today so I'll speak with him about it, but... gah!
@fatstagnation adorable!!!! So happy the party was fun!! @ashtuesday youβve been on my mind - hoping youβre at least able to get a little comfortable and rest.Β
My post-doctor update is: there's no real update!Β I'm 1 cm dilated - the contractions last night seemed real, and my crampiness during the day turned into some real contractions too, but not active labor yet. My doctor said she could show up in a few hours or a few weeks, so π
@ashtuesday hope you're feeling better and things move along quickly for you!
We had Vinny's one year check up the other day. The dr said we should be transitioning her to whole milk and towards eating 3 meals and 2 snacks per day. She's eating 3 meals with us, but I don't know how there's time for 2 snacks. She is still taking 2 naps. Also, do you just put the milk in the bottle instead of formula? I feel like feeding her is already a lot of work, lol.Β
@fatstagnation yes!!! We just left the one year appt. Our doc said to do half formula half whole milk in the bottle, transitioning to all whole milk bottles then just whole milk sippy cups. I think I already miss just doing formula, lol.Β
Thank you for all your kind words, ladies!Β Sorry for coming on here and just whining - I've got no one who really gets it IRL!
At Nora's one year, our doctor said to go straight to milk and only mix with formula if absolutely necessary.Β She also said to go straight to sippy cups and only give bottles if N totally refused the milk otherwise. We took the doc's advice - at first, N would only take milk from the bottle, but we experimented with sippy cups until she found (an admittedly bottle-like) one she likes. It only took about a week to transition, and it's nice to be bottle-free.
@fatstagnation I 100000% feel your "How is there time?" question. Are they supposed to do nothing but sleep and eat?!Β Also... How/when are we supposed to make all these healthy, age-appropriate meals happen?Β I try to give N what we eat, but there are limits!
Sorry for this AW post but thereβs a tutu π - Β we had Maeveβs party today - it went well and she had a great day even though she ended up with a fever and runny nose Β (a reaction to her shots yesterday).Β
@ashtuesday V also eats what we eat. Sometimes I take her portion out before I add spicy stuff, sometimes I have to cook hers a little longer but mostly this works out. Β
I got one of those at walmart a while back. He takes water out of it really well, but won't take milk out of it. I guess because he's expecting the water. I bought another one today to try.Β
Re: March 2019 Randoms
Canβt believe this little princess is one today!Β

Vinny was overwhelmed for most of her party but it was a lot of fun.Β
