  • @mamanbebe I feel like mine got huge too! I was like crap, when did this happen LOL!ย

Also learned my lesson about over eating too late in the evening.. ended up having dinner late then decided I needed ice cream lol... go to bed a little while after, woke up about 2am with a ton of bile in my throat... happened Friday and Saturday.. so annoying, had to end up sleeping sitting up because every time i laid down the bile would come up. Watched what I ate last night and ate much earlier, no bile in the middle of the night... stupid over eating!ย

  • @jennm0724 The reflux is so so real :( I woke up with it this morning from having pasta with red sauce followed by pudding last night, despite taking a zantac before we went out.ย
  • @mamanbebe @jennm0724 Ugh, same! I thought it was gone for good after first tri...but I guess I brought it upon myself for having mango juice before bed. :neutral:ย

I'm back from our babymoon in Vegas! DH and I had a great time. :) We mostly did sightseeing around the strip but we gambled a little, and DH ended up breaking even! We also watched UCF *almost* beat Duke while hanging out on the pool deck: neither of us had money on the game, but the reactions were awesome.
  • +1 with the reflux. Itโ€™s been awful lately! Also, constipation. Grrrr. Iโ€™m also trying to figure out why thereโ€™s snow on the ground and itโ€™s april.... so frustrating. Hahaย
  • @bartonolivia +1 for constipation. Didnโ€™t go all weekend. Thatโ€™s probably why the bump looks bigger. Yay pregnancy!!ย

    @jennm0724 sorry about the reflux! Thatโ€™s terrible!ย

I want another Tula Baby carrier... I saw one on the BST site that I fell in love with. But I JUST bought one last month. So Iโ€™m going to give it a few more days before I jump on it. Because, I work too and make money damnit!ย

  • @jenniferjoy37 this morning is the first time Iโ€™ve gone since the 19th... and thatโ€™s with taking miralax everyday. I finally gave in to taking milk of magnesia (was advised not to bc Iโ€™ve been having really bad Braxton Hicks) but I couldnโ€™t stand it any longer. Iโ€™m hoping it continues to work throughout the day because I am miserable!ย
  • @bartonolivia are you taking anything else like Unisom or Heartburn meds? Those stopped me up really badly.ย
  • @mamanbebe @hestia14 reflux can kiss my ass! I am so tired of it, I've never dealt with it until I got pregnant.ย

@bartonolivia omg you poor thing! Refulx AND constipation, that sucks!! I didn't poop for like 3 days and I thought that was miserable, I couldn't imagine going that long!! hopefully it continues to work today and you get relief!ย

The reflux is horrible. I am eating lots of snacks throughout the day and small meals. I've been really cautious at night, if I'm not the outcome is very unpleasant.ย
  • @bartonolivia Glad you were able to go! I bet you feel amazing! Iโ€™ve had to take 3 colace daily, and even then it wasnโ€™t working. My OB let me take some senikot (but not daily) and I did that for 2 days before I started noticing a difference. But it makes you feel like a new person once you go!ย
  • Add me to the feeling huge club. Also constipation and random bouts of reflux. Blergh.

Also got my first "when are you due" "wait when" "I don't think you're going to make it" comments this weekend. ๐Ÿ™„ At least they didn't add the twins comments??!ย

  • @bartonolivia that sucks that there is not something you can point a finger to and solve it. So frustrating. I have IBS-C which flares up really bad with hayfever. I am terrified of the next few weeks.ย
And thanks to this reflux, I'm SO starving in the morning because I'm too scared to eat anything after about 7:30pm.ย If I don't lay down until 11, I'm usually ok with that time. But with the hunger, returns the morning sickness. So I've been gagging and puking in the morning again.ย
  • @hakele the worst for me with all this sinus drainage is the clearing things in the morning.ย  If it makes me gag or close to gagging it's like my body remembers all the puking and tries to make me puke again.ย  Lately i've been just telling myself "hold it down" (even though it's usually before breakfast and there is nothing to "hold down") and if i can make it another minute i'm fine.ย  It's odd that puking was almost a learned behavior for me.ย ย
  • Add me to the not pooping club. I'm adding a small cup of warm prune juice to my evening routine.
Question for you wise ladies - my parents do 2 days a week of kid care for us and are planning to continue. The in-laws are moving closer this spring, and will only be about a hour away. All the sudden this morning it dawned on me that we could perhaps ask MIL to come down and do 2 days a week of baby only care, at least until my oldest starts public school? We're moving into a space where she can be downstairs with her own bathroom. We get along pretty well. Would you consider just straight up asking? Her level of helping has varied over the years and I think the move towards us is in hopes of being closer with the grandkids... Am I going to hate this??? Or just be relieved at all the money we'd be saving....ย
  • I'm sticking this in Random but let me know if we should start a Monday B*Fest thread:

My mom invited a friend of her's to my shower. My immediate response was REALLY negative.ย  I'm flying back to where i'm from and have 3 other friends who are flying in as well and two sisters.ย  So yes, is it about a baby shower, but it's also seeing people who i love and whom are very dear to me and seeing them in person.ย  I don't want this person who i haven't seen in years and don't have a relationship with at my party...then my mom was like "well she couldn't be there anyways".ย  MH is being greedy and is like "you want the older people so they'll buy us good stuff" But I just think my mom shouldn't have invited the person without asking me first.ย  It's rude and it would have been so uncomfortable to have her there.ย  I feel like she doesn't get that she crossed a line. But I also feel badly because if i would have kept my mouth shut i could have just said "oh that's too bad she can't make it"

  • @blackhottamales yes we should start a bitchfest thread because I was just going to start one cuz random fuckery.

  • @erynpdx What if you asked her to do 1 day per week while you looked for childcare options close to your new house? It could give her the opportunity to offer to do it permanently or more often if it doesn't drive you all crazy.ย

@blackhottamales Sounds like she just wanted to invite someone to hang out with her, which is kind of rude and intrusive to let someone you wouldn't even consider inviting into celebrate somewhat of a private matter with your closest friends.ย
  • @blackhottamales my mom invited a bunch of her friends to my baby shower for DD. I canโ€™t really recall meeting them before, so it was a bit awkward. But my mom was proud of the fact that she was becoming a grandma. They were planning it for me. Some people donโ€™t get baby showers, so I was thankful. That being said, it is YOUR shower, and if you feel that you just want people around you that you are close with, thatโ€™s your right! Iโ€™m sorry she didnโ€™t ask you first though.ย
  • @erynpdx I see no harm in flat out asking her for the help. You could make it clear that there is no expectation that she accept, but if she's willing, it would be greatly appreciated. If I'm reading it correctly, it's you MIL. In that case, it might be better to have you SO do the asking.

My husband flat out told his mother that it'd be very welcome if she moves closer and cared for LO. We've been trying to get her to move back to NE for years and he shamelessly used the new grandkid in that endeavor. I figure it's his mom, so whatever he wants to tell her/ask of her is his decision. I have no idea whether she is actually considering moving at this time.ย
  • @jenniferjoy37 youโ€™re right and Iโ€™m very blessed and definitely could have acted with more tact. The funny thing is sheโ€™s not hosting. Itโ€™s one of my out of state friends. I donโ€™t blame her though for not offering, she has her own tax form so sheโ€™s really busy now and I wanted it before 3rd trimester since Iโ€™m flying home so she really couldnโ€™t host. ย
  • @nopegoat we have the same due date and it's surreal. My OB even commented that this feels like a fast pregnancy to her.

I'm on an iron supplement with stool softener. I feel like I can't stop going. And so much gas.

Dh comes home on Friday. I've been cleaning something each day to keep me distracted so it's just nesting.ย

Finally less than 10 days until we leave for vacation and only 7 days until our anniversary.
  • @asupernovablizzardstorm it has gone so fast! I'm hoping this last stretch continues that way.

Had a total Mother of the Year moment last night.ย Eating dinner and all of a sudden my 6yr old fell off the bench but it wasn't a normal fall. It legit looked like an invisible force field came and knocked him off it. Like feet straight up in the air while he kissed his knees kind of fall. He's perfectly fine, ego a little bruised. I laughed so hard I cried and peed myself.ย

  • @cindler The second grandkid is what clinched it for having my MIL move out here. She's settling on a house next week about 30 minutes out from us (not too close, not too far). I'm looking forward to having the extra help out here, especially because DH travels out of country for work several times a year. It's been hard enough with just one and no family, two would be a potential disaster since I'm a working mom. I hope your DH manages to convince her!ย
  • @nopegoat My 5 year old DD literally fell off the couch onto her head the other day. From sitting. For no reason. I did the same thing and started laughing. She got really mad at me for "making fun of her". In my defence she usually laughs at herself when she falls and she started laughing this time...until I started laughing...and then if course she didn't find it funny anymore.
  • @mamanbebe hahahahahahahaha Mice are feeder food in my house, so I would never get one as a pet, but that is adorable :)
  • @indulgentgypsy I haven't made it past 39wks1d so if he follows big brothers it should be a little less than 99 days from today. I can't believe we are hitting double digits!! So close, yet so far away from meeting our babies!!ย

  • Itโ€™s only Tuesday!? It feels like the week should be farther along, but at least it hasnโ€™t been bad so far!ย

After attempting to transition DS2 from the crib to a bed for a couple of weeks, he is officially back in his crib until he outgrows it. I ordered another crib for the nursery and it arrived on Sunday! Heโ€™s sleeping completely normal back in his crib, I could kick myself for trying to rock the boat!ย

  • @nolemomma14 Honest to goodness, don't feel bad. You NEVER know. We decided to just bite the bullet and had M sleep in a crib converted with a toddler side for two weeks, then went full-on full sized bed in his room so we could move the crib to the nursery. It... worked surprisingly. But there was NO WAY of knowing til you tried it. <3

@indulgentgypsy That's so exciting! I need to double check and make sure that my c-sec was actually scheduled for the date I ask for because I really don't want to miss out on that date.ย
  • @foodislove absolutely! We transitioned my oldest to a regular bed around the same age, and he did great with it. Since they share a room, we thought he might like sleeping in a bed like big brother, but he still prefers his crib very much!ย

  • @nopegoat so true! I donโ€™t mind him staying in the crib at all. I know heโ€™s going to sleep well there, and wonโ€™t be wandering the house middle of the night! He will sleep in a bed when heโ€™s ready!ย

Thats so awesome about the bees!! I love hearing all about your animals!! DH and I are working on setting up our garden this year, but we definitely want to add some animals down the road.ย

  • @nolemomma14 I'm so excited about our garden this year too. After 2.5yrs of dinky half assed gardens I think we finally have our shit together this year lol.

What are your plans for the garden this year?ย

  • @nopegoat That's great about the bees, how exciting!ย

@nolemomma14 Moving them over to a bed is such a crapshoot, but I agree that keeping them in as long as they are happy being a good thing, and containment is always nice when you've got your hands a little fuller :) ย With DS, I think he was between 2-2.5. We had a full-sized bed set up in his room for a while to get used to, and just had him in his big pack n play next to it. Eventually, he started throwing all of his stuffed animals and blankets out of the pnp at naptime and bedtime, so I figured it was time for a change. When we moved him over there was a little bit of him puttering downstairs at night, the first night, but eventually he got the message and stayed put. ย

I'm feeling a little down today. I've mentioned before that I decided to do glucose monitoring in lieu of the sugar drink test for GD. I knew there was a risk because my hormones had been out of wack before KU but I figured I was in the clear since last pregnancy I was fine. Well.. 24 hours in and things are not looking so great. Perhaps just the kick in the pants I needed to make sure I stay on track with healthy eating for the rest of the pregnancy. But still bumming me out.ย
