@bows22 - Thanks! Yes! I don't want the pressure. I already get bummed when I get a BFN. I don't like saying that I got one on this board let alone to people I know. Before we even tried for DS, I had gone to dinner at my ILs. I had been feeling nauseous for some reason. My MIL later called up one of my SILs and said "[Spacemountaineer] was nauseous today!! Maybe she is pregnant!" I don't like the speculation. It just adds to the pressure.
@spacemountaineer Sorry about the MIL. That's a tough situation. I hope you feel better soon!
For those who have requested pics of our kitchen reno after the pipe burst, pics are in spoilers. Before pic is the damage, and after is as of yesterday. The countertops and sink are supposed to be installed today! (I shared in WTO too)
@millpe glad your LO is feeling better. It is so hard to see them sick especially when they are so little and don’t understand. I hope you got some quality cuddle time (the silver lining to baby sickness)!
@millpe hopefully your PMS-y is a great sign I would definitely track anxiety and see what happens. My sleep is super tied to my cycle too because for me that's when my anxiety flares. It can help when you're at your wits end and "oh ya, i'm ovulating" and it gives me a little reason to calm my crazy. I love the 8 month age too I hope you're enjoying it!
@millpe that is so great that you are so open about your TTC journey- I wish I could be like that! I hope your DS feels better- fevers are no fun and weaning too
@bows22 We just give DD a snack- like a banana, snack bar, pouch etc in the morning to hold her over until she has breakfast because we drop her off pretty early in the morning.
@spacemountaineer My MIL says things like that too. So I purposely decline alcohol occasionally to keep her wondering. That way when I really am pregnant, she won't be able to tell. 😈
@justkeepswimming8 my DD was never interested in purees
once she figured out that she could chew. In the beginning, we did a lot of
potato things for her since they could go in different forms and be soft yet she
could still chew.
@Spartanrd4 yay for not being out of town during the
FW! Also, two-year-old photos sound like
they’ll be adorable!
@whatsbumpinpumpkin so sorry to hear about your diagnosis
but I’m glad that a doctor finally found it so hopefully things can improve!
@bows22 frozen waffles, protein pancakes, eggs, toast,
banana, smoothie, apple sauce are all major hits for my DD!
@spacemountaineer I decided to be more open about fertility
treatment this time around since the first time it took 18 months and ALL of
those months were filled with friends and family asking “when” so now they shut
up because none of them have experienced it to know what to say. I prefer their silence.
@MrsVP614 LOVE LOVE LOVE the cabinets! That’s very
similar to what our house will have 😊
Any thoughts about this cycle? I’m so confused still. I’m happy that I know that I ovulated because of my bloodwork, but because I never got a positive OPK even with testing 2-3 times a day, I don’t know exactly when it happened. And I’m on progesterone so I don’t know if I haven’t gotten AF because of that or because I ovulated later than I thought. My progesterone was taken on 3/11 so I’m AT LEAST 10 DPO. Last cycle, my LP was 13 days. So, I decided that if I keep getting BFNs, I would just keep going with the progesterone until the weekend.
Any questions? Not now
Rant/Rave/Brag: This weekend is our first non-traveling weekend in a while and I’m so excited to hang out with DD and DH all weekend!!
GTKY: You've got 30 min to yourself in the middle of the day and you don't have to be anywhere or do anything productive during this time. What do you do to fill it? Literally, just sit on the couch quietly and play on my phone.
@mokay19 oh protein pancakes are a great idea. Do you use a mix? What brand? Also, when I use OPKs I would test in the morning, after work, and before bed and would sometimes miss a positive. I know that doesn’t make it less frustrating though.
@bows22 we always use Kodiak Cakes mix. You can either add just water or just milk or milk and an egg depending on how much protein you want in them. They also have chocolate flavored so DD would eat them as dessert sometimes! And we would smear some peanut butter on top if we had time for clean up afterward. It was always a nice and easy, yet dense meal. And easy to add fruit on top of pancakes!
@mokay19 That’s frustrating, but hopefully it will be a moot point and won’t matter!
It's funny how it's the little things in life that mean the most...not where you live, or what you drive, or the price tag on your clothes... There's no dollar sign on a piece of mind, this I've come to know! *ZBB*
I’ve been super inconsistent with temping this cycle until the last few days because of being sick and it’s hard to compare the previous two cycles because I’m finally getting to sleep through the night and temping later, BUT I think dropping the bedtime milk is helping my temps / hormones. Signs are pointing to early O coming soon, but my body has faked me out plenty of times before. Still, it’s nice to be a little more optimistic. There have been so many announcements lately and I have my second shower to attend in three weeks, so I just want to feel like I’ve got some sort of chance this month!
It's funny how it's the little things in life that mean the most...not where you live, or what you drive, or the price tag on your clothes... There's no dollar sign on a piece of mind, this I've come to know! *ZBB*
WTO/TWW? WTO I guess. I’m pretty sure I still don’t O without meds.
Ages of other child(ren)? 18 months
Any thoughts about this cycle? It blows, but whatever. I’m just biding time until the end of April.
Any questions? Not really.
Rant/Rave/Brag: I’m supposed to get some really important test results about DS today. He had a test for a possible rare genetic disorder a few weeks back. They wouldn’t give results over the phone, so we see the doctor this afternoon. Totally shouldn’t have come to work, bc I can’t focus on anything, but I guess it lets me check in here. This week has been insane.
GTKY: You've got 30 min to yourself in the middle of the day and you don't have to be anywhere or do anything productive during this time. What do you do to fill it? TV or maybe a good book. Something mindless.
@flinstone-2 Sorry about the LP. I’m sure it’s frustrating.
@jennifer_louise We got some sunglasses at Gymboree, but that was a while ago.
@NYTino24 Congrats on the funding. I hope the weaning gets easier and you keep seeing positive signs in your cycle.
@justkeepswimming8 The transition to make kid friendly food at home was pretty tough, but I have enjoyed eating real food instead of fast food all the time.
@marebear15 I have very similar feelings about getting DS out of his nursery/crib. I don’t even want to think about it before there’s another baby to think about.
@whatsbumpinpumpkin I have a VSD that was diagnosed when I was a child and never repaired. It’s very minor, but even that required a surprising amount of extra care with DS. I’m so sorry you had to go through that and it wasn’t caught sooner.
@MrsJessS DS chipped his front tooth on NYE. I was so mad at DH who was home when it happened, but he felt really bad about it. (DS fell in his rocking chair and hit our tile floor face first.) But, I’ve gotten used to it now and it’s kind of charming. Plus, it will fall out. They checked it out and we’re just watching it for now. It’s not so bad.
@begging4abump GL at the RE. I’m so sorry about the timing of your DD’s trip. That’s tough.
@spacemountaineer That FB post was rude and inconsiderate. FIL does that to me and it is so awful. Wouldn’t wish it on anyone.
I go here now, but I'll probably try to jump in for real on Monday. This week kind of got away from me and I'm trying to get acquainted back here by lurking a bit!
Great news, @mercury94! I remember holding my breath before DH and I got our genetic test results *TW* after our loss */TW*. However, my nephew has DS with a Robertsonian Translocation, and that’s more of a freak chance kind of thing vs inherited condition. Either way, the possibility can be scary and I’m glad your answer was a good one!
It's funny how it's the little things in life that mean the most...not where you live, or what you drive, or the price tag on your clothes... There's no dollar sign on a piece of mind, this I've come to know! *ZBB*
@mercury94 I’m glad the tests came back normal. I’m sure that’s a huge relief! I assume he has had some symtoms that led them to believe he might have this disorder? If so I hope they are able to find out what is causing them soon.
Re: telling people – I’ve only told my cousin who is also
trying and who has a little girl 3 weeks older than my DD but for TTC#1 we didn’t
tell anyone. It was kinda lonely but it was so fun to surprise everyone that we
were pregnant since they had no idea it was coming.
@spartanrd4 – I hope the pictures this weekend go well! And
definitely agree with the end of winter. We luckily have had some warm weather
recently which I have been enjoying. We’ve been spending a good amount of time
outside. The pool we took her is similar to the one you took your DD to. It’s
starts out at “0” feet and then gradually gets deeper. She won’t be able to go
too far until she starts to walk though.
@marebear15 – we actually are keeping DD in her current room and
just moving the nursery furniture into a different bedroom. We decorated the
room specifically for her (including a mural) before we realized that people
usually keep the nursery the same and move the older child. Maybe if the next
one is a girl we could keep it the same. Either way we are currently cleaning
out what will be the next nursery but still keeping it as a guest room until it’s
time to move the crib over. If it takes us a while to get KU then we’ll still
move the crib and changing table into the nursery/guest room for storage when
it’s time to move DD to a big girls bed. Hopefully we don’t get to that point
though.
@whatsbumpinpumpkin – no advice for your question because DD
is still too young. Man that is really scary and frustrating about your
diagnosis. Sorry about it but thankfully they figured out what is going on and
hopefully can do something to help.
@ruby696 – We will probably be doing the same with kid meals
until I get the motivation to start cooking more. But it’s still work to make
her meals so maybe I should just start making something for the whole family
and eating better. The other day, I had her eating some pears while I cleaned
up the kitchen before I started eating my Chick-Fil-A. Once I brought my meal
out, she started throwing the pears on the floor and fussing for what I had so
that may be a problem lol. GL with your IUI this cycle! FX for you!
@mrsjessS – FX for you! Sorry you already feel defeated
though.
@begging4abump – ugh so sorry for AF. I hope your week is
going okay without your LO. We haven’t done an overnight away yet but may once
she’s completely night weaned and STTN more consistently.
@bows22 – she loves pouches. She will suck them down in
seconds. It’s having someone else spoon feed her that she’s not liking right
now. We usually save them for when we are on the go or I’m feeling super lazy
lol. I hope y’all enjoy a nice relaxing weekend.
@spacemountaineer – ugh sorry about your MIL comments. FIL has
been pressuring us and SIL as well. Please just enjoy the grandkids you have
now and leave us alone!
@millpe – I’m glad you were able to get through your first
baby fever and that your LO is doing better.
@mokay19 – DD has recently figured out how to chew with her
teeth. It is so cute to watch her purposely making a crunch with things like
cheerios and pretzels. Sorry you are confused about O especially since it
matters because of the progesterone. FX you don’t have to stop it this weekend.
@mercury94 – yeah I like eating real food too but I’m just
really lazy lol and yay for good news at your appointment!
AFM – I FINALLY O’d! I legit had like 8 days of EWCM and we
had a lot of sex. I am done with it for a least a few days. Definitely going
with OPKs next cycle – that was ridiculous.

@bows22 He was tested for a bone disorder following multiple fractures. Each break made sense on its own (falls), but the number was enough to suggest that we should do some tests.
