Trying to Get Pregnant

WTO Tuesday 3/19

**This is a thread that welcomes all regardless of where they are at in their TTC journeys. Please be mindful of topics that are discussed that could be hurtful to those going through tough times. Mention of children or pregnancies of others should have a TW (trigger warning) and be in a spoiler if possible, and only be mentioned if it is extremely pertinent to the conversation. Thanks for keeping this a safe place for us all to engage!**

  • @ruby696 - Lunch with friends and an early day! Sounds like an amazing Tuesday.
And right! I love being informed about my body. At one time I did think it was a bit much to be temping and checking CP and all, but it was more like I was in awe of those who did it and thought that was way to much work.

@b_1029 - Apparently this cousin was peeing on OPKs and could never get a positive. So her OB prescribed her Clomid and voila! So now she thinks that's all infertility is.
  • @marebear15 Seriously, it's like all of a sudden what your body does makes sense and means something. Why wouldn't you want to know?? I even share it with MH so he's in the know. He knows more about womens' bodies and fertility that he ever cared to know. 😂
  • @marebear15:  ugh - yeah, "crazy," okay.  I agree with you, it's amazing to actually understand what's happening.  Pfffbbt to her.

@holly321:  sorry you're down right now.  *hugs*

@ruby696:  yay, early day!!  And  Ialso did a quick info session for my DH, and he was like, Wow.  That's pretty cool.

@inthewoods23:  ugh, hope you feel better quickly!

@littleredm:  glad the library gig sounds fun and career-building!

    Month/Cycle:  10/8

    CD:  5

WAYDTGKU:  Letrozole, BBT (restarting soon), OPKs (eventually), lovin'

R/R:  nothing really here.   just living.

    CS/Q:  nothing to see yet.
  • @marebear15 well that's nice for her  :D must be nice to live in a dreamland.

@littleredm hopefully everything goes well with your IUI this cycle! I'm glad volunteering was great!

    Month/Cycle: 17/18

    CD: 13

WAYDTGKU: OPKs, EPO, maca, trying to drink more green/RL tea

R/R: I have a lot today. I've been in a funk in a major way and it's raging out of me today, especially because I'm sick. My current rant is that (*TW*) my manager is complaining about "the joys of motherhood" as she does fairly often. It always rubs me the wrong way. I guess it's easy to complain about your kids constantly when you conceived them easily and treat them like they're knats (seriously the way she talks to them while we're in meetings is really annoying). I know it's easy for me to say don't complain, I'm sure I will one day, but she knows what I'm going through and really....just consider your audience. (end *TW*)
trying really hard to think of a rave to counteract all my angry/bitter thoughts today... the sun is shining and it's supposed to be in the 50's here today, so at least there's that!

CS/Q: got an almost +OPK last night (it looked + to me, but FF says there was a difference so who knows) so I assume I'll get a + today.
  • @littleredm Good luck with IUi this cycle!

@b_1029 I'm sorry you have to listen to that. Maybe an "at least you have kids," comment would make a point. Not sure if you have the kind of relationship with your manager where you could say that. Hugs.  <3
  • @littleredm good luck with your IUI! My RE never does back to back IUIs. She said it's not necessary when you're using the trigger shot. Glad you had a good time at the library!

@b_1029 our weather is the same today and I'm am so happy about it! I hope the weather gets you out of your funk. Maybe just respond to your manager with a "could you not??" Or a "that's an insensitive thing to say to me" 🤷 it's so hard to be direct though!

  • @ruby696 @inthewoods23 yea, I think with my current mood I probably would've said something like that if it were 1x1 because we do have a pretty solid relationship, but it was in a group chat so I just responded "that's what I hear" (to her message of "nothing like motherhood to make you feel like a failure, right?")
  • @holly321 Your Happy Paster garland 1) is cracking me up and 2) I have this button that has a person who's knitted a sweater with three arms instead of two, and it reminds me of that-- Super sorry you are feeling down, but I hope your garland cheers you up at least a little when you look at it? I feel like I wouldn't be able to look at it without smiling.

@MrsVP614 I hate being forced to eat out all the time! You always think it won't be so bad, but then... it gets old so fast.

    @inthewoods23 Noooooo get wellll sooooon!

@marebear15 Oooo I would have gotten all snappy w/ someone being that rude-- The only group I call "crazy" like that are "crazy apocalypse people" who have, like, bunkers in their basement and tons of survival/food supplies (really hoping you are not also one of these survival nerds. If so, I am cancelled. [Maybe I make fun of them bc I secretly envy them?]) Anyway, I agree with @ruby696-- how does KNOWING MORE make one crazy? So aggravating.

@ruby696 LOL at "too many things" & YAY for leaving early.

@littleredm Oooh yay I love your possible library future.

@b_1029 I am always trying to think of a rave equal to my rants haha, so hard! I'm sorry you're having a particularly rough patch--I had a really bad one yesterday. I hope you get that +OPK if it's convenient/makes sense for it to come today!

    Month/Cycle: 6/5/2AL

    CD: 4

WAYDTGKU: PNV, FF, maca, RRLT, other stuff but not yet bc AF

R/R: T the deadline for an award I want to apply for was announced last week--and it's due this Thursday! So I am having my American lit class observed today (part of the application process), and I wish I'd had more time to prep for that! / My rave is that my dissertation director asked me if I was going to be around in the fall and offered me a really cool course to teach if I'm going to be--so I said yes bc it's very likely I'll still be here in the fall--and I'd really need a job if so. I've been on and off panicking about being jobless come graduation. (I'd be adjuncting, which is--like working super hard for barely any pay, but I'll need to be doing *something*.) Also, AF seems back to "normal," which I am taking as a good sign.

    CS/Q: nothing yet to seee.
  • @b_1029 I'm sorry you're having an emotional day. I totally get it. I find myself all the time getting annoyed when I see parents snapping at their children out in public for being children. I just want to be like "APPRECIATE YOUR KIDS!!!" I know kids can be annoying sometimes but I feel like when we've gone through so much to have them we will have a special appreciation for them that some people just don't have.
@inthewoods23 dang my doctor didn't mention anything about not doing the timing back to back. I hope it's not a waste of money then to do it that way :/
@kagesstarshroom I hope that you're able to get everything done on time to meet your deadline! That's awesome about getting to teach a cool course next semester! :)
@misshelen86 I'm glad that you were able to confide in your friend. Pampering yourself is always nice! I'm going to get my nails done tomorrow! Love the mint green color, such a good one for spring. I'll probably go with a light pink. :)
  • @littleredm I don't mean to worry you! During my 2nd IUI I did temp the entire time and based on my temps it was telling me I O'ed the day between the trigger and IUI day so if you do an IUI the following 2 days after the trigger shot you probably have a better chance of success.

  • @ruby696 - MH knows a lot about my cycle, but he's still a little confused on certain things because the cycle I decided to tell him all about it was the one that ended up being 45 days with 3 LH surges. Which confused both him and me.

@littleredm - That's great that the library is not only letting you volunteer but also do more of the high level stuff.

@lcking82 - I prefer "lovin'" to "HIO" any day!

@b_1029 - After she called me crazy, I let her dream in that wonderful land of puppies and rainbows. Where a pill gets you pregnant.

@kagesstarshroom - Lol no I'm not a crazy bunker in my basement person, but we do have an entire storage tote filled with hurricane supplies. Mostly so that we don't have to brave the stores every time there's a hurricane in the Gulf.

@misshelen86 - That's awesome that you were able to talk to your BFF about TTC. And out of all the least helpful pieces of advice, the "relax" one is the one that doesn't bother me much, idk about you.

@b_1029 It takes around an hour or more to get home normally. On a day like to day when I have a meeting after, it’s more like an hour and 15. If I left when traditional rush hour was, it could take 90 minutes.
    @misshelen86 Enjoy the pampering!!!
@marebear15 What a jerk. You’d think she’d understand the struggle and be a little more careful with her words.... AFM, I didn’t
meet the neighbors yet. I heard a small voice on Saturday and saw a woman unloading her trunk. Many of our neighbors are super old and there aren’t many families in the immediate area since it’s a busy road.
@brookert615 What’s up with your CD confusion? Lots of spotting? I know I missed something!
@holly321 Sending some nice thoughts your way. I hope you’re on your way outta here soon. Sounds like the person making the garland mixed Passover and Easter!
@littleredm I’m glad you’ve got a more aggresssive protocol lined up. Hope it works out. How many credits would you need for library science?

It's funny how it's the little things in life that mean the most...not where you live, or what you drive, or the price tag on your clothes... There's no dollar sign on a piece of mind, this I've come to know! *ZBB*

@littleredm Medicated cycles will throw off your BBT, especially the trigger shot. A lot of women stop temping while doing IUI and IVF because it's pretty much pointless. I didn't listen for part of our IUIs and drove myself crazy. When my IVF RE told me to throw my BBT away and to never mention charting to him, it made my heart happy.

  • I think I’m back! Ugh. Bump on mobile! I couldn’t remember my log in and it had me log in again and I put my wrong stuff in, so my intermediary profile was on when I posted last **eye roll**. If I ever get banned I have a back up profile at least lol

ill come back back to tag and read through.

  • thanks @suzycupcake. I am always happy to not temp. :)
  • @NYTino24 I had spotting and/or light flow and a lot of cramping and my usual AF nausea feeling. Then a few days later it stopped dead in its tracks and then it started again lol. I was taking HPTs every damn day because I was hoping I was a SS! 😂

  • @marebear15 Oh hell no to that cousin. It's amazing how many women don't even have to think about how their body works.
@b_1029 We had a pipe burst about 7 weeks ago, and it's been a long process to get it all renovated. Pics in spoilers! New countertops and sink are supposed to go in today, finally! It's also completely normal to feel that way about your coworker. One of mine loves to tell everyone she conceived on the first night of her honeymoon and I think it's so icky to talk about.
@brookert615 Congrats on the weight loss!

  • @brookert615 Ahh that’s so frustrating! Hopefully this cycle will be the one for you.
It's funny how it's the little things in life that mean the most...not where you live, or what you drive, or the price tag on your clothes... There's no dollar sign on a piece of mind, this I've come to know! *ZBB*
