  • Loading the player...
  • The app sucks on my phone, so I tend to post when I'm working during the week from my computer, just makes it easier.

@nopegoat sounds like a productive weekend! Those are the best!

Hubby and I went to the movies and saw Captain Marvel which was really good then went out to dinner, felt so nice to bet out of the house and go on a date. Feels like its been forever. Sunday was spent cleaning up the house and yard, feels so nice. It was in the high 70s yesterday so it was really nice to be outside in the sun.. stupid rain is coming back this week..

  • Random/Rant... I have the second half of a root canal coming up this week, and I asked DH if his parents might watch our kids for a few hours (this is a MAJOR olive branch on my part as I usually don't ask them). I also asked that they leave their dog at home - they recently brought it without asking. He said he doesn't think they will be willing to leave the dog at home and not to count on them.

Awesome. So just to recap: you'd rather stay at home with your dog than spend time with your grandkids. Got it.
  • Is anyone having gallbladder issues? I am getting some blood work done and have an ultrasound scheduled in a week but am trying to make dietary changes in the meantime. Do y'all think it would be ok for me to start a thread about this?

  • @jennm0724 it was so needed. He's been working over, overtime and we had so much to catch up on. H and I are not so patiently waiting for the Captain Marvel movie to come out on prime or Netflix. We haven't been to the movies in forever... I've heard it really good.

@nerdtoyourmother I'm sorry girl. My MIL has pulled the same shit. She has legit gone over a year seeing the boys because it's too much of a hassle for her to find someone to care for a miniature yorkie and catch a free to her plane ride to see us but fully expects H to take off work, us to pull the boys out of school early, find someone to take care of our entire farm, and drive 9hrs to see her...

I hope the root canal goes well!

  • @leendenny not this pregnancy, but with my first. I was diagnosed with gallstones around 25wks. I'd be happy to help with any questions if you have them. Sorry it's happening to you. Those gallbladder attacks are no joke!!

  • @nopegoat oh man, so painful! Mainly I am just trying to come up with ideas of what I can eat without making it worse. My normal diet is making me completely miserable with the nausea and vomiting and bloating and I think a large part of that is due to the gallbladder issue. Any tips for snacks and meals that you ate without trouble and didn't feel completely deprived? Thanks so much!

  • @nopegoat Love your goat! But I understand and hate it when they get sneaky like that. My only real random is stressing about $ right now. We just have to much month and the end of the money this month :( My taxes have been delayed for over a month now, so my guess is we are not actually getting money back, although I have no idea why.

It's fine and things will work out, but it is putting me in a mood. And I just came from one of the math classes that I push in to (for no reason, I seriously have no SPED students in that class) and as usual coming back from a break/long weekend the teacher has nothing planned so the students are playing Yahtzee - which, fine, let them have fun, no big deal. But he also has NO control and NO classroom management and one student that takes every opportunity to just destroy the class by doing whatever the fuck he wants. I can't sit through that class today when I am already cranky and HANGRY because I did not bring a filling breakfast when I came to school.

    Sorry for the rant.
  • @leendenny I stuck with a lot of fresh fruit and veggies with dip for snacks and I was also able to tolerate Greek yogurt which is kind of a no-no for the diet but I needed to the extra fats. Lots of guacamole too.

Meals were usually simple and bland. Baked chicken or fish, steamed veggies, brown rice. Salads.Lighter soups. Veggie noodles or whole wheat noodles with a light pesto sauce instead of acidic tomato sauce or heavy Alfredo.

Frequent small meals with lots of water afterwards usually helps too.

Also during an attack water and kind of rocking back and forth on my left side actually made the attack end quicker.

  • @leendenny not anymore - I had my gallbladder removed after my second. I knew it was coming, gallbladder disease has hit every woman on my mom's side and at least half the men. Every one on that side of the family eventually gets it removed.

The pain was honestly the most intense thing I every experienced with the attacks. I had an attack after my youngest was born and took him with me to the doctor's office. I ended up having to go to the emergency room with the baby and call my dad because I was 1.5 hours from home with our only car. They wanted to do the surgery that day but I refused, because I needed to get home to my husband and other son with our car and arrange child care. They said I would not be able to control the attacks with diet, and I said (literally I said this) "Screw you, yes I will, I have no choice. I am going home NOW." I got the Eat Clean Diet book by Tosca Reno and ate super clean for 2 months before my surgery. Not one more single attack. They told me that when they took my gallbladder out it was basically a "bag of stones".
  • Crap. Posted too soon and now it won't let me edit. @indulgentgypsy money stresses are the worst. This time of year seems to hit us the hardest too. We still haven't found out if we owe or what.. Blah. Oh man. I would be irritated too. FX today goes fast!

  • @nopegoat Pickled eggs?! I’ve never heard of this before! Do you hard boil them first? And I hope your goat gives birth soon, stop playing! Haha.

@indulgentgypsy I hate when the IRS just doesn’t give you your money. You earned it, they took too much, so give it back already. Ugh. I hope you get it soon.

@nerdtoyourmother What the heck? Is it like a toy dog or something? Seems like they need to invest in a kennel for it if they don’t trust the dog being alone. What a load of crap. I hope the root canal goes well.

So DD has had diarrhea x2 days. DH has diarrhea today. I’m just waiting for it to hit me. It may be delayed because I’m sooooo constipated! Hahaha.
  • @jenniferjoy37 yep! Hard boil, peel, put in a jar with freshly boiled vinegar brine and spices, and let sit for a week or two. Then done! They actually taste amazing! Great as a snack by themself or in salads.

  • @nopegoat can you just log into the bump on your browser on your phone? I don't use the app because it sucks the life out of my phone. I'll go from 80% battery to about 30% in about 10 minutes of browsing on the app. So I just use my browser (Safari for me) on my phone instead. Works better for me that way.

I'm trying to help build healthy cleaning routines for myself. Like on X day of the week, I run my laundry. On X day of the week, I fold my laundry. I just know that things will be better if I have set days/times that I complete these tasks so that I don't get behind or overwhelmed once the bambina is here.
  • I had to go to L&D this morning so they were supposed to cover my period 2 class (grade 11s...I left them a crap tone of work and made it clear the work had to be submitted at the end of the period). I got back from L&D to find out that they didn't get my class covered so my students did next to nothing the entire period. I'm annoyed!

Plus I'm in so much pain from my fall yesterday. It was so stupid and baby is totally fine but I'm having serious trouble walking today.
  • So we are finally upgrading our living room! We were given most of our living room furniture for free when we got married almost 7 years ago. Always with the plan that we'd buy nicer stuff some day. We found a coffee table and end tables on fb marketplace. Now my husband is looking up couchs almost every day lol! I told him that is all I need for an anniversary gift❤
  • This day doesn't seem so bad because it's beautiful outside but it's grating on me. My family is getting all weird about my grandma's terrible husband dying yesterday (he was really that terrible and lived a long terrible life so I do not care), my poor dog had a molar pulled this afternoon, and I finally had replacement parts for my half finished shed arrive, only to find that they are for the wrong shed and the woman who works customer service has a hard time understanding me so I'm not feeling very confident that she will send me the right parts this time either. March can suck it, it's been like this all month!
  • Nothing new here. Again... pretty sure I have food poisoning or a stomach bug. Coming out both ends but my stomach hurts so bad because the bottom end is being stubborn. Ugh
  • @bartonolivia Poor thing! I think DH has this too! He thinks it is more food poisioning... coming out both ends. I hope you feel like yourself soon!

@kingdommom New furniture is always exciting! Happy Anniversary!

@Panaceia I hope you feel better! Glad that baby is doing okay. It’s so dumb they couldn’t find a sub for you... it’s not like they didn’t have time to prepare, right? And I would think that Grade 11 kids would be responsible enough for themselves... obviously not.
  • I’ve been super busy at work and super stressed at work. Not healthy but can’t be helped. I’ve also been told more than once that maybe they should take away projects I oversee (permanently) because I’ll be on maternity leave. I feel like I should report it to HR.

We owe SO MUCH in taxes this year. So much. It hurts. We always owe - MH doesn’t want to adjust because he’d “rather we hold it than an interest free loan”. But painful. Thanks, Trump. Seriously, we were hit pretty hard by some of those new tax changes.

    I dunno what else.
  • Back in France (and TB) after a month in the US...adjusting to “normal” life and getting back to work knowing I just have 3 months left (maternity leave here starts at 36 weeks).

Haven’t had an appointment in over a month so on my way now and AS (finally) next week!
  • @hakele it will let me log in on the browser but only if I change to desktop mode. But everytime I refresh it tries to go to the app, it's constantly moving the cursor/shifting on the screen, and I can't upload pics... :(

@Panaceia, @bartonolivia I hope you guys feel better ASAP!

Oh that's so frustrating @mamanbebe I hope by some miracle she sends the right parts.

@Happyin14 yuck. I'm sorry. We haven't done our taxes yet and I'm scared we are going to owe again. Blah.

@frenchbaby18 hope your appt goes well!

  • @nopegoat and @indulgentgypsy Thank y'all so much for your responses. I feel much better after altering my diet yesterday and seriously upping my water. Can I ask you how your weight gain was affected after going to such a low fat diet?
    Lilypie Third Birthday tickers

  • @leendenny my weight gain slowed greatly once starting the diet but I still gained, mostly baby and then water weight because I was so swollen. I think I gained like 20lbs that pregnancy.

  • The stomach bug hit our house hard... DS1 had it Saturday, I had it yesterday, and now DH has it today. I'm just reallyyyy hoping and praying my 13 month old DS2 doesn't get it. I ended up needing to go to L&D last evening to get fluids and I'm so glad I did. Not 100% today, but feeling a lot better! Somewhat related... while sitting in L&D I started freaking out what the heck were we thinking have a third baby so close in age lol!! I am not ready
  • @leendenny This was post pregnancy for me, and the attack and hospitalization actually forced me to stop breast feeding, so I lost about 15lbs between being hospitalized, going "clean" and getting the surgery.
  • @happyin14 the changes to deductions has been especially hard on us because it took away a lot of the things we took as deductions, but the increased standard deduction doesn't cover that loss. People who work from home were hit pretty hard.
  • @nopegoat those pickled eggs look and sound delicious!
@indulgentgypsy ugh, sorry to hear that! Financials are always a stress for us too, and such a big one at that. Hope the taxes end up well for you.
@leendenny  @bartonolivia @ccmama3 @Panaceia hope you all feel better soon! Gosh, March has been a rough month for illness and body pains!
@frenchbaby18 I am SO jealous of France’s maternity leave policies....

nothing new here to really report, DH and I have a hospital tour tonight at 6. We are using the hospital across town this go around because we had not so great experience with the one down the street from our house with DS’s delivery. I’m looking forward to my mom watching DS for the night (yay, sleepover at mimi’s!) because just a few hours of non-kid time with DH will be nice.

I’ve also been eating everything in sight and I’m not looking forward to the weight-gain comments from my OB when I go in on Friday 😒

  • @nopegoat omg those are so cute!!!!
  • My coworker has been struggling with infertility for a number of years. She's such a great person I just want good things to happen to her and I want this to work out. Just got word her treatments were a bust  this month. Ugh. And I'm waddling around the office 5 months pregnant with #4 feeling like a greedy asshole.
  • @nopegoat those are some really nice Amigurumi! I love them!

@cbeanz I feel you. One of my really close friends is getting a hysterectomy because of some issues she is having which mean she won't ever get to have kids. And so I'm feeling pretty guilty...
  • Thank you @ccmama3 and @hakele! They are beyond perfect! I'm so excited to take all the pictures of him with them! 😍

@Cbeanz huge hugs! My sister dealt with IF and then had to have a full hysterectomy because of endometriosis before kids and my BFF had 1 kid before she had to have a hysterectomy from endometriosis as well. I always feel so guilty when I have to tell them the news. :( IF sucks.

  • Sorry I've been super quiet lately. I've just been lurking. We put our house up for sale, got an offer almost immediately that feel through. Now it's pending a second time. We planned on buying a new house before the baby comes and then I planned on quitting my job. I've been there for about 2 years and was just laid off. We needed my income to get another home loan, because he is self employed and showing a loss last year being his first year in business. I'm not really sad about losing my job, just the timing. We are currently building a lake house so we are going to rush to get it finished in the next month with limited funds until we close on our current house. Being a grown up is stressful. I look at my almost 3 year old and envy how care free children can be.
  • The property behind is currently vacant because the owner died and now his granddaughter is trying to clean it up since he was entering borderline hoarding territory. Because there is so much stuff they are having problems with trespassers and thieves.

My H and I have tried to help as much as we can. We try to keep an eye out, have run/scared people off, called the police, and even put up a trail camera of hers and one of ours to try and help. She was out there today and I brought her a couple dozen eggs and we talked for a few minutes. She asked me if we checked the cameras lately. Besides this weekend when we were busy trying to catch up on our own stuff, my H hasn't been home. In fact he just left again for 1 maybe 2 weeks. These cameras are 15-20ft up in the trees to make sure they aren't seen and taken and my pregnant ass isn't about to jump the fence and climb a tree to check them. I told her this and she actually was put off and then said there was a ladder I could have used. 😳🤨😡

Yea I don't think so. Seriously not liking any of our neighbors at the moment.

  • @nopegoat I can't imagine someone suggesting that a pregnant woman should be climbing ladders into trees. If it was me I would have said something sarcastically inappropriate. On the plus side she likely would never have spoken to me again:)

If one of the cameras is hers then why doesn't she check it herself? Some people have no concept what gratitude looks like. I'm insulted and angry on your behalf.
  • @Panaceia this was totally me

I said bye and walked off after that. I guess she assumed that since we were closer than her on a daily basis because she doesn't live on the property that we would be the ones to check them??? But we all know the saying about ASSumptions and it really boils down to its not our property, not our stuff being stolen, and really not even our business.

I didn't see her ass pull out the ladder or try to climb the tree either while she was there today so yea I'm definitely not going out of my way to help anymore.

  • @shawnacrest oh mama, how stressful! I hope everything works out the way it’s supposed to for you all! I can’t imaging having to deal with all that!

@nopegoat Who the hell suggests that a pregnant lady go on a ladder 15-20 feet in the air to get a video recorder for a neighbor. If she wants it that’s bad, she can climb it herself. Sheesh.
  • @shawnacrest dang girl. Talk about shitty timing. So sorry. I know that has to be super stressful. My fingers are crossed it all works out. Hugs! ❤️

@jenniferjoy37 right?? My H holds his breath and does his best not panic when I insist on getting stuff off the top shelf of our pantry with a step ladder (because I'm a strong, independent, vertically challenged woman 😂😂😂) these days. There's no effing way I'm checking the cameras myself.
