Treat yo' self!

If you can splurge on one thing (okay, maybe 3 things), big or small, reoccurring or one time things, what would they be?

One of my favorite things to splurge on is the VS knockout leggings in black with pockets lol. I have like 5 pairs but they're my favorite and I love wearing all black haha. I wouldn't mind getting free burgers/steaks without the guilt, too

It's not even a splurge because it's barely over $1 but my guilty pleasure treat is a McDonald's ice cream cone. I don't eat sugar, I don't eat a lot of dairy (lactose intolerant) and I don't eat at McD's often, but that's my go-to treat.

I'm most likely to splurge on travel. We don't spend money on big, extravagant things and we travel pretty modestly in that we fly economy and look for deals and stay in AirBnBs, but we enjoy seeing and trying new things, especially food, and are more likely to pay a little more for those experiences away from home.

This is good timing because we're looking at dropping a huge sum of money to stay at a really nice resort in Maui for our honeymoon, and I've always done Hawaii on a budget so was having a hard time swallowing that, but dangit, we only get one honeymoon and this is about as special an occasion as any so we're going for it!!

A personal chef and a maid! Both of those would make my life so much easier and eliminate a lot of existing stress between DH and me.

I'm with @brookert615, expensive workout leggings. I'm forbidden to buy any more atm, but I have a pair in my "cart" that I'm going to buy when AF comes.

If I got to pick another one, it would be weekly massages.

Ok I'm going to be going over 3 here but....

1. Like @kiki047, travel and/or vacations. Our honeymoon was certainly a splurge, but it would be nice just to get away every so often to anywhere without having to think about the cost, even if you are modest with spending.

2. Agree with @kbrown2385 on the fitness trainer. I haven't worked out in years 😬 also a stylist would be great. My hair seems like a mess when I care for it but it's great when I leave the salon

3. A modern house with floor to ceiling windows in the woods

4. Facials and/or massages. Maybe Mani/pedis too.

5. Planning splurging on the Tesla Model Y that they're revealing today....

@brookert615 I love when there's an item of clothing that just works for you so you have a bunch. Like when you find that perfect shirt with the right fit that makes you feel amazing so you buy multiples in different colors.

@kiki047 mini splurges are good too, even cheap desserts!

Oooh I like this one! I enjoyed the last two but had nothing fun to contribute!
My splurges would be some new Tieks in some fun colors. If there is no price limit, I'd join the Disney Vacation Club. They have more destinations besides the parks, like Hawaii. And my third think is laser eye surgery. I would love to be able to wake up and see perfectly without glasses or contacts!

Laser eye surgery is also a good one! A few times on weekends when visiting my parents I've forgotten my glasses so I end up having to wear my contacts longer than I'd like.

DH definitely needs it... He SLEEPS in his contacts almost every day. I could never.

@kiki047 I too do not often spend monaayyy money on vacationing & cheap out--it would be nice to be able to stay somewhere luxurious! Or fly first class omg!

Here are mine, in hierarchy form...

BIG SPLURGE: Vacation in Japan! This is my dream vacay. I'd want to do Tokyo and then also the rural parts to visit some of the temples/more rustic areas. ...and then go to the Miho Museum, which is partially underground?

LESS LARGE SPLURGE: DH & I have birthdays 3 days apart, & we were going to buy a new bed to celebrate. We want a queen & H has back troubles, so something that is better for him--if HE sleeps better, *I* sleep better. Anyway, there's been some trouble brewing in the $ dept. recently, so I'm not sure if we'll be able to make this happen for our bdays this month--but it's still in the picture for the future!

SMALLER SPLURGES: I've been buying organic food and choosing BPA-free packaging, which has been costing me more, but it's worth it IMO. Also that Talenti ice cream has been a past splurge--not into the plastic packaging though, so haven't bought in a while.

I would get a housekeeper, for sure. One that came once a week. Coming home every Friday to a clean house would be a dream come true. I guess that makes me a pretty boring person!

@b_1029 I totally hired a maid a few months ago and so far we're still working through some kinks but we're getting more on the same page about my (high) expectations and what she chooses to focus on. I feel like I need someone to come daily and do my dishes though.

This is why I said "okay, maybe 3 things" because there are so many little or simple splurges that can really help make life less stressful!

I guess we should just up it to 10 since everyone has such good ideas!

1) A Maid to help clean (especially since my mother moved in with us....she's messy)

2) Mani/Pedis, Face masks, makeup, massages, etc.

Just like others, definitely a housekeeper! I also would want to travel a lot more.

In an effort to make things interesting...it has always been a dream of mine to do a tornado chasing tour, BUT they are around $2000 for a DAY last time I checked. And I just can't justify that.

@emeraldduchess absolutely yes to laser eye surgery! Dh had it done through the military and I’d love to one day get it as well!

Full time personal assistant. They would take care of all the day to day crap that eats away at my soul and/never gets done. Like when you know you’re going to have to argue with the phone company. Or when something needs to be taken to the post office during post office hours. Or when dogs need to go to the vet. And they would also clean. And grocery shop. And on and on because they’re my full time personal assistant.

Love this one too!!

Id want a live in dog nanny who would wake up early with my pups and get them out for really vigorous walks. We go everyday but when I’m on the meds im on I’m sick to my stomach so It’s hard to get out and about.
Personal trainer/personal chef.
I’d also love someone who would follow me around while I drive and parralell park for me whenever I need it haha. I hate parking.
A new set of couches and a California king size bed would be great.
Weekly massages would be amazing.

@colelle wait, there's a tornado chaser TOUR?! I'd be so into that!

Another one for me would be a vacation with DH where we stay in one of those huts over the ocean - like in Bali or something. That's all I wanted to do for our honeymoon...until I saw the price and that it would take us 4597093476 hours to get there.

Also, a legit dog trainer. Ours is pretty good, but he struggles to walk on the leash and has leash aggression, and we don't know how the heck to fix it. If we could just pay a huge sum to send him off to one of those doggy training camps for a few weeks and he came back an angel, that would be awesome.

My other splurge would be lululemon everything. I love their gym wear + athleisure but I never go in there because I don't want to spend that much on one piece of workout gear.

Annnnnd last but not least, I would splurge on our dream home (but keep our current one to rent because I'm obsessed) and a lake house. Would also like to fix all the random stuff wrong with our house now and build some type of shed so we don't have to store all our yard work stuff/lawn mower in the basement. I have a lot of things I want, lol.

@b_1029 Those over the water bungalows are SO COOL! Sandals just got some at three of their resorts and it's over a grand per person/per NIGHT! Quite the fortune but definitely a bucket list type thing! I agree with the dog trainer! We had one for like 6 classes a couple years ago and it did work for a good bit of issues we were having.

My brother works for Lululemon so I am also obsessed with their pants. Specifically any of their align pants.

Oooooh, these are all really good! I’m super spoiled in that MH is a neat freak & does most of the cleaning so once we moved in together= no need for a housekeeper anymore. Lucky me!

My dream splurges:

1) Bottomless travel budget. I’d go somewhere international once a quarter, I have always had the travel bug soooo bad (but not the travel budget to go everywhere I want).

2) Weekly or even EOD massages. My favorite!

3) My dream home both in Hawai’i and several locations around the world for when I do all that traveling. I’m addicted to House Hunters International—a girl can dream!

@kiki047 I’m so curious about your honeymoon location! Willing to share where you’ll be staying? All the hotels are amazing for honeymoons anyway, I’m sure you’ll have a wonderful time!

@keikilove One of my cousins, her fiance just got re-stationed in Hawai'i--they move there this July for who knows how long-- & I'm like hmmmmmmm. Like, I'd always wanted to go, and this makes me feel like we definitely should visit while they're there.

@b_1029 A dog trainer would be great! What a good idea! Our eldest barks too much in the house, and our youngest (she'll be 1 y/o 3/19!!!) is a little too crazyyyy, and they both need leash training.

@thatcma ...when DH & I lived in the city, he'd always talk about building an additional story on top of our row home? And at one point I was like, "we really can't afford that." And he got all huffy and was like, "you have to let me dream!" I was like ooooookay. But dang, that would have been a WILD way to add an addition to our home haha.

@littleredm Any particular kind of plants? Like, garden plants or house plants? Decorative or functional? etc. I am curious!

@kagesstarshroom House plants for right now. Next year I want to try and do seedlings for a container garden but just learning what I can and starting small this year. I put a picture of my Pothos plants in the spoiler. The big one is the parent plant and the small ones are ones that I've grown from cuttings off the parent plant.

Splurge on 3 things, unlimited funds?

1) A nice little 4br/3ba house, paid in cash, so no mortgage. We’re renting and it suuuucks.
2) A maid, due to my chronic health issues.
3) A Disney vacation club membership (all paid up) with home resort at Wilderness Lodge.

@keikilove Maui! Well, we're spending 5-6 days in Maui first, then flying to Oahu, 4-5 days in Waikiki (my second home) then probably renting an AirBnB in Kaneohe on the water, unless we can find something nicer. There's a few really cute ones in/around Kailua too. Torn between the Hyatt and the Fairmont in Maui right now. Do you mind me asking where in Hawai'i you're located? Or PM me if you don't want to put it in the chat.
