Had a headache for 12+ hours now that I can't get rid of. Local mom board is telling me to call my doctor but I don't want to drive all the way there and all the way back now that I'm at work. I'm getting them more frequently. My blood pressure has been normal or low every time I've been to the doctor's (OBGYN or otherwise). Am I just being stupid?
@foodislove Oh man. I wouldn’t know what to do. Me personally I wouldn’t go to the doctor but I never go in for anything so I’m the wrong person to take advice from. I get headaches a lot so I wouldn’t think anything of it. But if it’s not normal for you I’d at least make a call to ask about it. I hope you can get it to go away soon and all is good with you & baby.
My nose has been bleeding, which had never happened in a pregnancy for me before. I’m also cramping more. I’m sure it’s round ligament pain but it HURTS. I also grunt like an old man every time I try to get up from sitting or laying down.
If it hasn’t been relieved by drinking water, sleep or Tylenol it couldn’t hurt to just talk to the triage nurse or go to your local pharmacy and check your BP.
My biggest pregnancy symptom lately is severe indigestion. I also do not tolerate ice cream which is weird- if I eat it I can guarantee I’ll throw it up. I’m recovered from the flu thank God! I’m back to work tomorrow. It feels amazing to finally feel like a functioning human being again.
@bartonolivia Yeah, I'm usually a bit of a hypochondriac, but like... I don't wanna go wait in a doctor's office and then have to come back to work. If I have to leave, I'm just down for the day, high BP or no. About the nosebleeds, I haven't had any yet this pregnancy, but I had several with my first, it shocked me! I'd never had a single one before. Just keep lots of tissues with you and be prepared if you eat spicy food. @vanillalatte89 Yeah, water, tylenol, a little caffiene, sleep, pickles, gatorade, and a neck rub, nothing. Getting stabby. I hope you stay well for awhile, flu is the wooorst.
@vanillalatte89 I can do ice cream in small amounts but no milkshakes. Not sure if it's the quantity of dairy in them or what, but they're a hard no for me, and I was dumb enough to test it yesterday. Bad.
I itch. Anyone else?
Not like super-bad, and it's probably not helped by the sunburn I got, despite mostly staying in the shade and wearing SPF 50, Saturday, but still. I have a feeling the sunblock I bought didn't do the job right or work at all. I am super-fair skinned, so sunblock brand is not something I mess with, but with the warnings about chemical sunblock, I tried a new one. The brand I usually use came out with an all-mineral one, and I'm hoping that works, but I'm mad cuz the bottle that failed me epically wasn't cheap.
@foodislove I know what you mean, I had a headache that seemed to last forever, Tylenol helped but it didn't go away. Felt more like a tension headache and it ended up going away on its own. I'd say maybe call if it's not getting better when its almost time to leave work?
Yesterday the RLP was real, bent down to pick something up and stood up too fast and there was the sharp pain. Felt like I paid for it the rest of the day. Although the pain by my belly button was odd, figure its just my insides shifting around since when I was at my AS last week little girl was much lower, so who knows. Its mostly gone now, just pain on the right side, between my rib and hip, feels like a sore muscle. trying not to worry or have to call the advice nurse.
@jennm0724 This could be a tension headache, but heat/sleep/neck massage did nothing. It's getting a little better, but doc wants me to go in anyway. So gotta pick up M and head over there since I won't have time to head back this way again to do pickup.
@greeneyedgirl12 didn't you have elevated liver enzyme levels?? If you are itching I really think you should tell your doctor about that. It CAN be a completely normal pregnancy symptom, but it can also be a sign of cholestasis of pregnancy, which you would want to get treatment for right away. Elevated liver levels can also be a sign of cholestasis which is why I asked that. It never hurts to be tested (you'd want them to run your bile acids).
For me, the upper rib soreness has begun. That constant bruised feeling.
@ccmama3 I plan to mention it. I have an appt. next week. DH (M.D., so he has a little more sway than average) is telling me I'm overworrying, but I can't shake it, especially because I seem to be having at least 3 of the symptoms.
@greeneyedgirl12 feel free to message me with questions. I've spent hours upon hours researching it. Definitely better safe than sorry with something like this!
@ccmama3 Appreciate it. DH is really digging his heels in, but I'm pretty stubborn myself and I've had a couple of the symptoms where the output doesn't line up with my food/liquid intake (sorry for TMI). We're gone most of this week, or I might try to get in earlier, but from what I've read so far the risks get way worse later, when LO has more functionality (for utter lack of a better term). I found the ICP Care site and the MFM who did my AS is actually on their doc list, so that's reassuring too. Already have follow-up with him scheduled for late March too...
@greeneyedgirl12 Also here for any information regarding ICP. I was just borderline of being diagnosed with my last pregnancy and ended up being fine, but I did a lot of research and it helped when another friend of mine ended up getting diagnosed right at 38 weeks and sent to the hospital without any further information (they don't let you go any further than 38 weeks period with ICP). Her baby was born via induction and is a happy, healthy 1 yr old.
Thanks all - my 24hr+ headache got diagnosed as a migraine (it wasn't like my usual migraines so I wasn't calling it that) and I was told to take Excedrin Migraine for it. It worked overnight! Sheer relief. If I have another or my non-24hr headaches keep occurring (I mentioned I'd had a lot just not that bad), I have to go to a neurologist. Whee. That would be 4 non-PCP doctors I have see during pregnancy. Blah.
@greeneyedgirl12 baby doesn't really weigh a whole lot. If you lost some lbs in the first trimester, it can take a bit to put them back on. I really wouldn't worry.
@bear14+ Thx. Puking for six weeks straight probably cost me some pounds, but I felt like I was maintaining through it. Maybe because I was puking at night and weighing in the morning. Pregnancy is weird.
@greeneyedgirl12 I wonder too if the itching it due to stretching of your skin. Have you been doing any oils/lotions to help the elasticity of your skin?
I’m starting to get SPD again, but earlier than last pregnancy... ugh. The only thing that helped last time was a belly band, so I may have to go back to using that...
@greeneyedgirl12 I'm with you on the weight gain. I went into pregnancy at 185, got down to 180 during the first tri, and this morning (19w + 6d) I'm only up to 184. I was worried, but dr said it's fine. Pregnancy is so weird.
@greeneyedgirl12 I'm still in the haven't gained boat. I've been parked right around 214.7 for weeks. I was 225 before I got pregnant. Then I got down to 212 in the first tri. But I've been sitting at 214 for at least two months now. I thought for sure I'd be gaining. But I must be losing elsewhere. I'm definitely a lot bigger in the front. Bigger boobs, bigger belly. I'm really not complaining though! My doctor said she'd be happy if I don't get back up to 225 in this thing.
I'm so angry today about every tiny thing. I honestly think I need to take the rest of the day off before I yell at someone. It just feels like I'm constantly surrounded by incompetent people. I shouldn't have to email people 4-5 reminders about something, yet some how it feels like I have to do that for every single person I come in contact with.
@greeneyedgirl12 yeah, I haven’t put on much weight either. My doctor said baby and I are doing great and she’s not worried, so I’m trying to take that to heart. I’ve read that some people end up putting on most of their weight in the third trimester, so maybe that’s the case for us! Have you had a chance to ask your doctor about it?
@strickland8052 I've been angry lately too! I'm trying to real it in, but people are so frustrating. Lol. Glad to hear it's not just me. Hope you're better today
@foodislove so glad to hear you were able to get some relief—migraines are the absolute worst. My symptoms theme of the week is pressure: pressure from my uterus on my pelvis and pressure in my sinuses. I have to pee all the time and there’s so much pollen everywhere 😫
@jenniferjoy37, I am getting symptoms of SPD too. It was really really bad last time around, I was almost immobile the last 4 weeks or so of my pregnancy. I can't remember what point it started before, though. I am going to start with the support band early and hopefully stay active as long as possible.
Does anyone take prescription medicine for indigestion/heartburn? My normal zantac 150/tums routine isn't working anymore.
Momma to Amelia Marie (7/14) and Austin Samuel (11/17). Adding baby (girl) #3 on 7/21
Not necessarily a pregnancy symptom, just crap from this cold I’ve been fighting. The sinus pressure has gotten so much worst today. @pizzaplz I feel like i could have written your post myself!
At what point should I go see my primary? I have a feeling they’ll just tell me there’s not much they can do anyways, but the ear pain today has been awful. It constantly feels like my ears need to pop, but they won’t.
I don’t know WHAT is up with me tonight. But I have MAJOR anxiety happening right now. I don’t know why I feel anxious but I feel anxious. I haven’t been thinking about anything. So I’m not sure what is happening.
I slept a little bit today during the day because I am very tired. I slept laying down last night, so that was nice but I still need more catching up.
I don’t think this is a ’symtom’ exactly, but it’s a PROBLEM. I started having severe tooth pain yesterday - and of course couldn’t take anything good. Now I’m at the dentist being prepped for a root canal.
He said it’s the general consensus among OBs that dental issues take priority as long as they take certain precautions. Here’s hoping they can use good enough drugs that I don’t even know it’s happening!
I'm sorry to everyone who is feeling so uncomfortable! For me my nausea has ramped up again...and the heartburn is crazy at night. I don't remember getting heartburn with DD until closer to 36 weeks. Otherwise not too bad. DD has me swimming with her for about an hour a day which is really helping my hips and back. But my belly feels huge this time around. I think I'm already the same size I was at delivery with DD and I feel self conscious whenever I tell people my due date. Stupid I know but still. Bending over and getting up and down off the floor is getting harder too. I tried getting out of the pool the other day by pulling myself up onto the deck instead of using the stairs...I had an audience by the time I got to my feet and people asking if I was ok. So I won't be trying that again!
@nerdtoyourmother Ugh, I'm so sorry about the dentist. I'm afraid to make an appt, but you just convinced me to make it a priority. Hope you are recovering well.
Anyone else's baby shift and press on on something down there that makes your stomach drop out? I can't tell if baby is pressing on a valve or something, but every now and then today I can feel my blood pressure just plummet and my stomach feels weird, and then something down there shifts and I'm okay.
@Panaceia, I am really self-conscious too. One of the teachers at daycare said to me "oh look at you, you're getting close!"....and when I told her July she said "oh, it must be twins!". I feel like people only say those things in movies, because surely nobody is that big of a jackass in real life. But nope, they exist!

For heartburn sufferers on Monday my OB had me go from 2 150mg zantac a day to 3. Heartburn this time around is way worse than with my boys, but the 3 a day is helping as long as I remember to take it.
LO has decided to plant his/herself alll the way on the left side of my stomach. Like I can fit my whole hand before I reach the peak of the bump on my right and just my fingers on the left (and I have short fingers, so my palm/hand is about the same size as my fingers). Right ab muscles are NOT amused, especially since I’ve was on a flight for the past hour and unable to move much...
I’ve said it before, but damn it I miss pooping this week. Idk if my uterus has shifted or something, but like, even after I’ve gone, I still feel pretty full up. Gross, I know.
Insomnia and anxiety is a lovely duo I don’t remember from last time- I was up from 3:30-6am today.
Oh man, after reading all of these, I really don’t understand how anyone says “oh I LOVED being pregnant, it was the best I ever felt!”
I second the “I’m the same size I was at delivery with my last.” I was so small with DS, and now I feel like I’ve just blown up in the last 3 weeks! I told DH last night that I can’t imagine getting any bigger and we still have 3+ months to go.... I might just explode.
And I already can’t get comfortable.... sitting on the couch has my boobs pressing into my ribs, which press into my belly. If I sit REALLY straight, it relieves it a little, but then my lower back kills.

My lower pelvic area has been KILLING me today. I worked out through it and now it’s even worse. I can’t even walk anymore. UGH
