Any thoughts about this cycle? ugh. blah. Not really getting any hopes up for this time around, timing wasn't the best at all and so many other factors this month (being sick, traveling..etc). Although there is a slight bit of hope that my birthday would be extra special this year if I magically found out I was KU! My bday is next Monday and AF is due next Wednesday. I'll also be in Orlando next week for a work conference and we are going to Epcot Monday night for my birthday, so if I found out while I was there it would be the trifecta of magical birthdays.
Any questions?
Rant/Rave/Brag: So tired! DS and DH slept in today though, so it was part nice to have the house to myself while getting ready for work and also part envy because I wished I was sleeping in too! Had a pretty low-key weekend of snuggles and harry potter!
GTKY: What’s the farthest you’ve ever been from home? Hmmmm.. I am horrible with directions and geographical data but I guess I would say when I went on a cruise to Bermuda, St. Thomas, St. Martin and Puerto Rico! The longest flight I've ever been on was to CA a few weeks back.

Any thoughts about this cycle? Trying to be optimistic because we are trying some new things that in theory may help our chances but hope doing that doesn't make me even more disappointed. DH's won't be out of town as much around the FW as he was the past 2 cycles so hopefully won't be as much pressure about getting good timing.
Any questions? Not really
Rant/Rave/Brag: DD started swim classes where she is by herself with an instructor and not with me or DH. First class DH took her by himself and he said she did great. Last week we took her together and she freaked out and didn't want us to leave her and basically cried the entire class. This week I'm taking her alone so really nervous how this is going to go- I hope it was just a bad day.
DH and I had a talk about TTC and if we don't get KU by June that we will need to start fertility testing in July (since we will have been TTC 6 months and I'm 35). I know I am jumping the gun because who knows if we will need to go down that road (I hope we won't) but he basically said he doesn't want to have to do fertility treatment if we find out something is wrong. He doesn't see the point of spending all that money and going through all that when we already have a child. It's just annoying that he doesn't feel as strongly about having baby #2 as I do.
GTKY: What’s the farthest you’ve ever been from home? I have been to Europe so I guess across the Atlantic ocean is pretty far! I've been to Germany, The Netherlands, Italy and France.

@Spartanrd4 I hope you GP before June and don't have to worry about it. I'm sorry YH isn't on the same page.
@kpearse99 It's really hard to pick a favorite because they were very different trips. Maui was my honeymoon, and was just so beautiful and romantic and there is so much to do there. We're not big beach people, so we snorkeled, hiked, ziplined, mountain biked down Haleakala, parasailed, and explored a bunch. Our trip to Italy was shorter than I would have liked, but we did Rome, Florence, and Venice. I loved Rome and Florence, but didn't like Venice. I also missed DS soooo much while we were in Italy. So I think I'd put Maui slightly above Italy, but I'd go back to Italy again before Maui, if that makes sense. I feel like I left a lot more of that unexplored. I'd spend more time in the country next time, I think. Specifically wine country.

@kpearse99 Sleeping in and harry potter, snuggles sounds like the perfect weekend.
@marebear15 That is so cute about your DD being so excited to see you! My DD has just started randomly asking for hugs and its the best
@kpearse99 - I've never had fewer than 4 HIOs in my FW, but here I am, lol. Unfortunately good timing means nothing for my body apparently.
Fish Kisses sounds like a cute book! I'll have to find it.
@Spartanrd4 - I'm sorry that you and YH aren't on the same page on fertility testing and baby #2. DH also doesn't think it's necessary, plus our insurance covers nothing, so we are kind of in the same boat. I'm hitting 12 months next month, and have no idea what my next step is going to be.

Rant/Rave/Brag: Terrible sleep last night, DS is teething and congested so he was up every hour starting at midnight. I feel like I was hit by a bus.
My rave is that my supervisor and one of my coworkers I dont get along with are out of the office this week, so it should be a good week! I work remotely, but it's still nice when they are out.

@marebear15 Omg your DD sounds sooo sweet! I love it when they show they're happy to see you. Just last week when I picked DD up from daycare, she gave me the most angelic smile and then turned around and yelled to the room "MY MOMMY'S NAME IS JENNIFER_LOUISE" which I think was her way of marking her territory lol.
@shamrocandroll ugh stupid AF! I'm so sorry you're still waiting. Your Maui adventure sounds amazing!
@Spartanrd4 ugh, those are hard convos to have with spouses. I hope you guys don't need testing but I also hope you can get on the same page. PS- swimming lessons sound intense! Are the one-on-one? We've only done lessons with me in the water too. DD is at the scary age where she doesn't know how to swim but thinks she does.
@kpearse99 isn't it so hard when the timing to get KU would be absolutely magical? I've had so many of those. Your HP/snuggly weekend sounds lovely.

R/R/Brag: Had so much fun with DD this weekend. I have to disagree with "Terrible twos" because for us it was "Terrible Ones" and she's comparatively an adorable piece of cake now. But it's also hard - she's a constant trigger because I want another one so bad!
GTKY: I think in terms of mileage it's Cape Town, South Africa. It was a work trip but we had a but of time to look around and the trip was just so interesting and incredibly eye-opening. I did not love the two 11 hour flights to get there, though.

@kpearse99 I agree I was okay with only having one before we had a child (especially because I am a only child) and now I just don't feel complete right now. So DH starting take fertilaid which are supplements that are supposed to help with sperm count/quality and I started taking fish oil and Coq10....I am also going to try progesterone cream after O because my LP is borderline short (10-11 days) even though my OB didn't seem concerned with it and I had DD with the same LP length....I am just willing to throw the kitchen sink at this cycle and see what happens.
@jennifer_louise Its 1 instructor and 3 children. She was doing lessons with me in the water from 6 months and then after 2 years old they can move up to this class. I really hope it goes well- she usually doesn't have separation anxiety at all so it was something I've never had to deal with and it broke my heart to see her so upset. South Africa sounds really interesting!
@justkeepswimming8 Yes daylight savings sucked...especially because I decided to wing it and didn't put DD to bed slowly earlier last week like I did the year before.
@jennifer_louise - OMW, your DD is the cutest too, marking her territory like that. I can't wait for my DD to start talking.
@marebear15 that's so cute of your DD! I love when DS gets excited to see me. Warms my heart.
@shamrocandroll I'm sorry you aren't feeling like yourself lately.
@Spartanrd4 I've had recent discussions with DH on timelines and tastings and treatments. He has similar feelings as your H that he doesnt want to go back down that road. I'm just hoping we wont get to that point, but I also like to have a contingency plan.

@marebear15 - Jack Wang & Holman Wang yarn books (The pictures are pretty impressive), Sandra Boynton books (I love But not the Hippopotamus & Dinosaur Dance), BabyLit books by Jennifer Adams, Goosie & friends books by Oliver Dunrea, Little Blue Truck by Alice Schertle, The Babies and Doggies Book by John & Molly, Spot's Peekaboo by Eric Hill (very durable flaps), Good Night, Good Night Construction Site by Sherri Duskey Rinker, Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See? By Henery Holt, The Monster at the end of this Book by Jon Stone (I didn't love the sequel to this one)
During that age range, I sold Usborne books to help a family member out with expenses (I don't anymore). You can find them on amazon or Book Depository if you don't want to go through a rep. Cuddle Bear by Clair Freedman (adorable!), Usborne's Baby's very first slide and see books, "That's Not My..." books (don't get more than too of these), Animal Hide-and-Seek by Stephen Cartwright (lots of touchy feely patches and flaps), All Better by Henning Lohlein (might be a little advance but it's a fun book).
You can type these titles into YouTube if you want to see inside of them.
@shamrocandroll - I'm sorry you're having such a rough time with this cycle.

Any thoughts about this cycle? It will be a miracle if I do get KU this cycle. My mother is doing a bridal shower this weekend and she really needs my help (2.5 hours away). My plan was to go down on Friday (and do BD in the morning as it is my expected O day). She asked me to come down on Thursday as there is so much to do (and I know she would not ask me this unless she really needed my help). I already expressed my concerns about a December due date.
Any questions? Not that I can think of.
Rant/Rave/Brag: We had birthday celebrations for DS this weekend. Things like birthdays get more fun as he gets older. He's super cute with babies right now. Unfortunately, We are looking closer to a 4 year age gap between kiddos. I really wish I didn't have that year of being benched. However, it is good that I am not having a baby right now. My village is pretty busy at the moment.
GTKY: What’s the farthest you’ve ever been from home? New Zealand, Fiji, and England
@marebear15: My 2.5 y/o is currently obsessed with Curious George books. At 1.5 "Teeth are not for biting" was basically all we read, due to some issues we were having. Ha. I love the Sandra Boynton books, too, by my DH hates that they're so silly (such a stick in the mud!).
@kpearse99 : FX so hard for birthday magic!!
@Spartanrd4: I'm in the same boat with the "one and done" - figured I would be okay with just one (I'm also an only child), but then DD came along and now I want a second so much!

GTKY: What’s the farthest you’ve ever been from home? Honolulu, I think!
@jennifer_louise Two was okay but I can see that DD is going to be a total threenager. So. Much. Attitude. now. Luckily she's sweet and loving 95% of the time, but when she's tired? Watch out!
@marebear15 We got DD and DS The Boy/Girl Who Lost His Name by Wonderbly, which is personalized for your child. 1.5 was a little young for them to understand it was their name, but they loved the book. Now that they know its about them, it's even more special. Also, all the Little Blue Truck books, Pout Pout Fish, Good Nite Construction Site, and any book that made noise.
@Spartanrd4 I'm sorry you and YH aren't on the same page. Maybe let him know that fertility treatment doesn't always mean IVF? There are less expensive/intrusive options you can start with if there is a problem.

@marebear15 oooh, all those emotions from dd! That sounds like such a sweet moment! I don’t think I’ve ever gotten a big hug greeting, but my dd sometimes hugs my legs when I’m at the sink prepping dinner and I about melt with love. Dd LOVES to read.
@shamrocandroll lol at your wording for how you feel about this cycle, but I’m really sorry for the feeling itself! HI honeymoon sounds amazing. We weren’t feeling ambitious enough to plan all that out for our honeymoon. Italy sounds pretty nice right now too.
@Spartanrd4 I hope swim lessons go well this week! I keep saying that I’m going to enroll dd, but I keep putting it off. Now I’m thinking we’ll wait for potty training first. Regarding separation anxiety, is there another big one at 2? Dd has never been bad with it, but it’s starting to show up...tho just about wanting mommy...poor daddy. Sorry about YH and you not being on the same page. I can kind of relate. Mh is morally opposed to most infertility treatments. We’re ok with trying to find out what’s wrong...except I don’t think he’ll be cool about sa. Fx you and I won’t need to worry about it.
@millpe ugh, poor ds! I hope the congestion and teething pass quickly!
@jennifer_louise lol at your lo screaming your name! Dd learned my name maybe a month ago, and it’s so cute how she says it! I love this age too. I’m guess 3 will be more difficult. Also, I totally hear you on how many months in we are. Hopefully we can start a new count...with weeks 😉 after this tww!
@justkeepswimming8 I’ve never been to Germany. I think we may try to go the next time we visit mh’s sister who lives in enGland. Any big recommendations?
@spacemountaineer I take it that your mom doesn’t know that you’re ttc? Ugh, my mom only asks when she really needs something too, so I can totally feel for you in your predicament! Can YH come down with you? Maybe have some nice hotel time while ds has a sleepover at gma’s?
@lcking82 YH hating the silly books is funny to me since it’s makes me think how mh gets disgusted with the ones he seems too sentimental. Anyway, sorry you’re feeling down!
@ruby696 congrats on getting rid of diapers and getting off the bench! Looks like you’re all set for next steps. I have my fx’ed!
What number are you trying for? 2
Month/Cycle? 10/10

Any thoughts about this cycle? I am a roller coaster of emotions with thinking I’m out and thinking this is it. I need to stop staring at charts.
Any questions?
What parameters do you put on grandparents? I’m thinking we need to start putting some rules in place for both sides, to avoid excessive spoiling.
Rant/Rave/Brag: I’ve really been enjoying dd these days. She is such a little chatterbox...which reminds me...I’ve been teaching her the biological names of body parts so that she is comfortable with her body and so that she isn’t confused about stuff. So of course the other day when I am trying to wipe off tomato stains on her crotch, she excitedly shouts “pagina” loudly. multiple times. So, I had a mental note about fixing the word, and about curbing certain words in public. Ugh, I get really anxious about having these conversations go right.
GTKY: What’s the farthest you’ve ever been from home? Japan!

@kpearse99 happy early birthday! I love Epcot!
@marebear15 my sons favorite book is llama llama red pajama. it’s cute hearing him trying to say “yamma yamma”
@spartand4 I want to go to the Netherlands so bad, I’ve never made it there! I don’t think there is anything wrong with pursuing fertility treatments at that time. I have a friend who had to for #2 and she has been super helpful and encouraging if we have to go down that road as well.
@millpe woohoo for O day
@jennifer_louise when did the terrible ones start? My son is A LOT the last few months and he’ll be 18 months next week. Tantrums and screaming and lots of defiance
@justkeepswimming8 DST suckssss
@spacemountaineer how was fiji!?
@begging4abump I feel you on the starring at charts. I think I'm going to stop temping now that O is confirmed because I scrutinize so much.

Month/Cycle? well now it's march so 3/1
WTO/TWW? TWW!

Any thoughts about this cycle? I finally ovulated!!!!! This is the first time I ovulated since I conceived DS back in 2016. It took letrozole and CD20, but I confirmed with a positive OPK and a temp shift finally.
Any questions? Any harm in stopping temping after O is confirmed? I've been anxious AF just hoping for good news on my chart and its eating me alive.
Rant/Rave/Brag: DH and I have been watching Bloodline on Netflix and I haven't been this into a show since Entourage.
GTKY: What’s the farthest you’ve ever been from home? Rome is the farthest. It's been a while since I've gotten to take a trip outside the country, except for Epcot of course
DS born 9.17
TFMR 10.19
@marebear15 I feel like the favorite book changes all the time, but he loves Llama Llama Red Pajama, Elmo Says, and this Baby Shark book that plays the song when you push the buttons, which now drives us crazy!
@shamrocandroll Sorry about your cycle
@Spartanrd4 That's tough about your DH. Hopefully it won't come to you all needing to explore fertility treatments.
@ruby696 Yay for getting off the bench and potty training!
@begging4abump We struggle with both my parents and DH's.MIL and SIL gave him two stuffed green dinosaurs for Valentine's Day. We've made it clear we don't need any more stuffed animals, but they bought two of practically the same thing. Grrrr. I'm grateful that we have parents who help and buy things, but it's too much stuff.

Any thoughts about this cycle? Timing has been great so far, should O today-ish and we were able to HIO every day this cycle (after AF)
Any questions? Already asked in WTO, but when do you check CM/CP? Mine seems lower in the AM?
Rant/Rave/Brag: went to a marriage retreat this weekend and it was amazing. Also they provided child care...including a three hour date night! First time we’ve had a date night since DS was born. Also he was a total ladies man at child care and had them all wrapped around his pudgy finger. He was a one man dancing and singing party when we picked him up lol

@begging4abump My DD is becoming a chatterbox too and repeating everything which I really need to watch out now because I swear like a sailor!
@MrsVP614 I hope you all feel better soon! I am so jealous of your trip to Australia- that is definitely on my bucket list of places I want to go. I think DH and I talked about maybe going when we are retired and staying there for at least a month because it takes so long to get there we want to make it worth it!
@flintstone-2 Yay for O! Sometimes I think I want to stop temping after O is confirmed to make me less anxious but then I never do! The netherlands was so great- I have dutch heritage so it was very important for me to go. I definitely want to go back!
@begging4abump : we struggle with grandparents, too. So. Many. Gifts. My mom was way more receptive to less electronic crap and more imagination toys. My MiL gives DD so many toys and clothes. I rarely have to buy clothes at all! We started leaving some toys at my MiL house, so that helps. That way when we visit (they’re 3hrs away), we don’t bring any toys. I also put some toys at our house away in a closet and pull out when we travel, or if we’re home sick one day. I haven’t been able to curb the toy tide, but do feel like we keep it under control a little bit?
@MrsVP614 : I’m so sorry about your friend.
@MrsVP614 breathing treatments do wonders for the little ones!! DS gets nasty coughs from his allergies so we start the treatments the second it comes on and it's cleared up in a matter of days!
@MrsJessS everyday since AF?!?! Dang girl!! you're a wonder-woman!!! That's amazing!

@MrsVP614 I'm so sorry for your loss. That is so hard, I hope you can find some closure.
@MrsJessS wow good timing! There are lots of people who got HIO ED in this cycle! There must be something in the air. I hope it's successful for everyone.

Ages of other child(ren)? 1
Any thoughts about this cycle? Eh. Just trying to be patient.
Any questions? Did anyone’s LP change after having a baby? Or is it safe to assume my LP is still the same as pre-pregnancy?
Rant/Rave/Brag: We have had some unseasonably warm/sunny weather the past couple of days and I am loving it! I don’t mind the cold winter too much but I do miss the sun.
GTKY: I’m on the east coast so California was the farthest. We went to Sonoma before we started TTC our daughter, it was amazing!
@marebear15 my DD is a little younger than 1.5, but her favorite book right now is “Elmo says” I think she likes it because she can flip through the pages herself and know what “elmo says” to do based on the pictures (touch her nose, wave bye bye, etc)
@kpearse99 I agree the fall time change is harder! DD was up at 5 AM for a month before she adjusted
@begging4abump @lcking82 my DH only likes books that rhyme. I guess dads are book critics? haha
