Re: Healthy Habit Check-in Week of 3/11
1. What healthy habit are you working on? Just trying to keep myself in shape - I really haven't been happy with my thighs lately, so my focus has been on my legs.
2. How's it going? I've been doing more leg focused workouts and I joined a Barre/Yoga class on Thursdays that I'm loving! The first half is so leg driven. I've never been a big Yoga person but I'm really enjoying the last 30 minutes of the class where do yoga, it's been really peaceful, especially with the stress of TTC, to take my mind off of things and just focus on being present with myself.
3. What’s a “small win” you have from last week? I finally was feeling better after having the stomach bug, so I got in 4 days of exercise. I wish I did more but I'm happy I was able to get them in, at least.
4. GTKY: What's your go to lunch? I usually just pack a can of low-sodium soup for lunch. I'm trying to stick with the healthier choices when it comes to eating, and I tend to eat a lot of fruits and veggies throughout the day. Those along with my yogurt & granola/coffee in the mornings I often tend to not be hungry for lunch that I end up skipping - I know that's not the best... so I usually pack a light soup with some crackers. I'm always looking for lunch suggestions though!

1. What healthy habit are you working on? I've really got to curb my eating. I am so bad about munching if I don't log my food and I don't log my food if I'm eating poorly. Ugh.
2. How's it going? Not great. I can't stop eating after I ovulate and I cut my foot last week, so I had a hard time wearing shoes. I feel like jabba the hutt.
3. What’s a “small win” you have from last week? I ran last Monday. I haven't done squat since then, but I'm going to look at that as a glass half full situation.
4. GTKY: What's your go to lunch? I like low cal salads. Especially since I can toss some avocado or walnuts in and feel like I'm eating something more substantial (thank you healthy fats). I also like tuna (from the pouches, so its dry) with fresh lemon and pepper.
ETA: spelling
1. What healthy habit are you working on? Working out 3-4 times a week.
2. How's it going? Pretty good! I only got two workouts last week, but my parents were in town. And I got in 3 the week before that.
3. What’s a “small win” you have from last week? I said no to so much sugary things. I've been doing well choosing veggies and protein over carbs.
4. GTKY: What's your go to lunch? I eat at the college cafeteria, but normally it's a salad with chicken and toppings like beans and corn and salsa if I want it to be Mexican, or feta cheese and olives for Greek. I also like doing just a piece of grilled chicken with mashed potatoes and broccoli to mix things up.
1. What healthy habit are you working on? Stick with low carb and being more active
2. How's it going? Meh. I did so well keeping my carbs low during the day....and then split a mini lemon bundt cake with dh after dinner last night 🙄
3. What’s a “small win” you have from last week? I got my cardio and squats in from bagging up leaves last week.
4. GTKY: What's your go to lunch? Cheese sticks and lunch meat roll ups with pickles.
1. What healthy habit are you working on? Going to the gym more consistently (4+ times a week/ walking the dog 30 min on days I don’t go)
2. How's it going? Not good. I’m the heaviest I’ve ever been and feel like crap
3. What’s a “small win” you have from last week? I forced myself to go to the gym at my parents’ house on Friday
4. GTKY: What's your go to lunch? Crockpot chicken with veggies and sweet potatoes.
@b_1029 hugs. I am right there with you - feeling kinda gross at the moment, but good on you for going to the gym at your parents'!
@marebear15 props on saying no to sugar! It's majorly my downfall.
@ruby696 hey, you've run more recently than me too, so I see that as an accomplishment too!
1. What healthy habit are you working on? Food. I had a bad week with food. I'm not even trying to give up sugar or anything, this week I just want to be better. There's one thing in particular I need to work on (last week: hiding Oreos in the closet so that nobody else knows where they are. Easy - don't buy Oreos!!).
2. How's it going? Not great, although I did have three salads last week. Trying to make that daily this week.
3. What’s a “small win” you have from last week? Made it to yoga.
4. GTKY: What's your go to lunch? Usually leftovers from whatever we made last night. That's a lot of effort, since it means we have to cook almost every night, but it keeps things healthy.
1. What healthy habit are you working on? All around diet and exercise!
2. How's it going? Was doing great. But CD1 bear came and messed up a few things. Got back on track yesterday!
3. What’s a “small win” you have from last week? Learning that sometimes you do need to treat yourself as long as you get back on the wagon!
4. GTKY: What's your go to lunch? I've been so bad at prepping so lately it's just been those steamed broccoli bags and a protein which lately has been deli roast beef lol. I've been drinking a few protein shakes throughout the day since work gets pretty busy and it's so easy to just drink something!

@marebear15 awesome job choosing veggies and protein over carbs!! I am finding it's easy to make those choices the more I do it!
@kbrown2385 Isn't that why we eat so well during the day... so we can indulge at night?! hahaha all jokes aside, great job with keeping things low carb! I like the cheese stick and lunch meat roll up idea!
@b_1029 great job getting yourself to the gym last week when you were at your parents! Maybe work your way into a gym routine, and go for at least twice this week... and then next week bump it up to 3 times. You got this!
@jennifer_louise I almost spit out my coffee at your oreo hiding skills!! I sometimes stare at snacks in the food store and try to talk myself out of buying them. It's so hard to put it down and walk away but you do feel better when you do!
@brookert615 YES!!! It is okay, and I think important, to treat yourself - as long as you get back to your routine. I'm a firm believe in "everything in moderation!"

@brookert615 When I'm doing well on my yoga train (read: not currently), CD1 *always* throws me off my game.
@b_1029 I feel like posting here makes me feel more accountable for things I want to do? Like, I don't want to let myself down and I don't want to feel like I'd lied to yall! Anyway: You can do it!!!
@ruby696 I am proud that you ran last week! I never run, it's not for me, and I am always impressed when people do. GL cutting out the munching/keeping up with your logging.
AFM:
1. What healthy habit are you working on? Right now, we are trying to go as organic/BPA-free as possible.
2. How's it going? This weekend, I went grocery shopping and bought as much organic/BPA-free as possible. I went to 2 grocery stories and spent a lot of time on my phone looking things up/working with the EWG app to make sure I was making the right choices. I've also thrown out a bunch of plastics, and replaced the bowls I reuse at work with ceramic rather than plastic ones/brought real utensils to work to use and reuse instead of using any single-use ones (I'm gonna toss all the plastic ones tomorrow.)
3. What’s a “small win” you have from last week? I made this chart for the back of my planner? I am going to make one for each month, and I'm calling it "the dailies"--it's basically ten things for me to do/eat every day to stay on the right track for TTC. Right now it's mostly supplements, but I am hoping to switch parts it up for next month & maybe add an additional fitness thing? Pic in spoiler! As you'll see, I've failed every day so far at my "one mile of walking," but I'm going for it today! A mile isn't that far. I'm gonna walk to the bayou and back and catch some Pokemon and that might get me over the hump for today.
4. GTKY: What's your go to lunch? Hot lunch! I was filling out, like, a dumb online quiz once and one of the questions was like "hot or cold lunch?" and I'd never thought of it before but basically I like any hot lunch most days, preferably soup, idc if it's 100 degrees out, sometimes leftovers.
@kpearse99 That’s awesome you were still able to keep going when you were sick! It makes everything so much more difficult to achieve!

I didn't work out yesterday but went this morning. Going to get Panera for lunch since we still haven't made any food after all our travels...what I WANT is my favorite sandwich, what I'm going to get is a salad / maybe a soup and salad depending on what soup they have today.
@b_1029 PANERA IS SO GOOD! Enjoy it, regardless of what you get

@ruby696 That's great that you walked to get your lunch. I love being able to do that and now that the weather is starting to get nice again I'll do that more often too. I think my coworker and I are going to squeeze in a 10-15 minute outdoor walk in the afternoons!
I'm about to head to the gym now for a 30 minute treadmill run and then some strength training before going back to my desk to sit again.

@ruby696 Sames re: walking tho not running--I did LOT of laundry and cooked a bangin' healthy dinner (salmon meatballs & a white wine sauce w/collard greens/capers over wheat angel hair pasta. Soooo... there is always today for the walking!
@kpearse99 Hahah thanksss. I really like charts/diagrams? I am not a visual person, really, except for things like that. I asked MH to get me a chalkboard/paint a part of our bathroom w/ that chalkboard paint in our bathroom so I can keep track of like flossing and such IN the bathroom, like, on the wall? That would be cool...
