Re: Fit Friday / Healthy Habits Check In 3.8.19
I'm working on staying consistent with exercise, eating healthy, and mentally trying to keep myself in a more positive and healthy place than I have been.
2. How did you do this past week?
I did okay with working out. I did strength workouts twice, I went for two walks, and Sunday I went for a 3 mile jog. My eating was okay, although I did eat a lot of mini cupcakes. Mentally, I have not been doing too well.. I have a lot of anxiety and tend to fixate a lot on my worries. I'm thinking of downloading some sort of meditation app, although I have tried this in the past and did not do well with it. Any recs I'm open!
3. What are you planning on doing this coming week to set yourself up for success?
I'm planning to get more fruit and veggies at the grocery store and make sure that I set up my lunch the night before so I can bring a healthy lunch to work every day. This way I will save money and eat healthy!
What kind of workouts are you all planning on for pregnancy? I did not work out with my last pregnancy, like at all. This time around I want to do strength twice a week and I'd like to continue running, but I don't know how long I'll stick with it.
2. How did you do this past week? I’m giving myself a pass this week due to lots of travel. But I did fine making healthy choices most of the time. I’m excited to get back into my exercise routine next week.
3. What are you planning on doing this coming week to set yourself up for success? I use ClassPass so I’m going to sign up for a couple spinning classes and get those firmly on my calendar. I have an Apple Watch and want to close my rings at least 5 days a week so that means on days I don’t work out I’ll need to take walk breaks at work.
2. How did you do this past week? I think I did pretty well this past week. I somehow managed to lose a handful of pounds this week
3. What are you planning on doing this coming week to set yourself up for success? I need to start walking at the gym again. since I've had 3 losses, I've been worried if I do too much I'll disrupt something and miscarry. But I need to atleast do some walking.
2. How did you do this past week? Worked out 4 days this week
3. What are you planning on doing this coming week to set yourself up for success? Switching to a prenatal exercise program and meal prep for the week
Keep up my healthy eating despite food aversions and nausea. Keep going to the gym.
2. How did you do this past week?
Great with the gym. The only time I can go is first thing in the morning or I’m too tired, nauseous or crampy. But I worked out everyday that I planned to, even if it was slightly easier some days. But I also had Cheetos for dinner last night, it wasn’t literally the only food that didn’t make me want to puke, oh well.
3. What are you planning on doing this coming week to set yourself up for success?
Buy more neutral foods as the grocery store. I tried to buy what I normally eat last week but jusy couldn’t stomach most of it. Crackers aren’t the most healthy food but if thats all that I can stomach it’s better than not eating!
@kimmer1412 congrats, nice to see you here! I remember you did beach body, have you tried any of the prenatal workouts on there so far? I've tried Autumns which I didn't love, and the Idalis Vaquez (both were first tri workouts). I like Idalis's better.
@kopp5988 Just eat what you can at this point! If crackers are all you can do, that's okay for now. So funny you wrote that about the cheetos, I had the exact opposite experience. I got a small bag of cheetos from the vending machine last week and ate them and felt SO SICK afterwards!
Not healthy at all but I'm seriously considering Wendy's for dinner tonight.. MH won't be home and I would sneak it. Really I just want a frosty.
1. What healthy habit(s) are you working on right now? I'm focusing on healthy eating, drinking more water and trying to get some exercise in at least 3x a week.
2. How did you do this past week?
I'm doing well with eating healthy and drinking more water, but I caught a cold so I haven't been able to work out all week.
3. What are you planning on doing this coming week to set yourself up for success?
We're heading to Disney World next week and I know we'll be doing tons of walking when we're down there. Healthy eating probably won't happen, but I'll do my best.

2. How did you do this past week? Not great but I’ve had a bad cold for 5 days now so I’m hoping next week will be much better.
3. What are you planning on doing this coming week to set yourself up for success? I’ll be working 3 full days next week so that should help with staying on track with eating healthy! I’m planning on taking my daughter for a walk the 2 days I don’t work all day and maybe when I get home the days I do work.
@rachelredhead what is intuitive eating?
1. What healthy habit(s) are you working on right now? Keeping up my exercises even when I'm feeling tired, trying to eat more fruits and veggies, and trying to have better control over my portions.
2. How did you do this past week? Doing pretty well with exercise, I did strength and running a few times, plus a stretch, including a few times when I was feeling tired. Ok with vegetables, not as good with fruit since it's always harder to convince myself to get yummy fruit in the winter when it's more expensive and less tasty.
3. What are you planning on doing this coming week to set yourself up for success? I'll try and get frozen berries to put in yogurt in the mornings and do more meal planning to make sure we have good veggie options.
2. How did you do this past week? As far as exercising.... I don’t have the energy. I force myself to eat because I’m use to eating one meal a day working 11 hours a day, 4 days straight. I’m always tired.
3. What are you planning on doing this coming week to set yourself up for success? I hope to make it to the gym Tuesday
Adding more fruits, veggies and lean protein, getting more water, and continuing my exercise routine.
2. How did you do this past week?
Ok.. did great getting extra water because I'm constantly thirsty! It was the first symptom I noticed lol. I did good with my diet some days but not others. I did keep up my exercise routine despite the nausea
3. What're you doing this upcoming week to set yourself up for success?
I bought some fruit and healthy snack supplies. I'm finding snacking is a must to keep my nausea down!
@creamcheeseplease if you're talking about a meditation app like headspace, I was never able to get super into that either. I learned that it was easier for me to just do simple deep breathing while listening to a calming soundscape. The Pacifica app has some good ones, or I'm sure you could find some on YouTube. I just go in my room, shut the door, plug in my diffuser with some lavender oil. I do between 10 to 20 minutes and I swear, it is one of the most relaxing things and really does help with my anxiety. It is much easier for me than using an actual guided meditation.
I am currently cutting down my caffeine and no more deli meat.
2. How did you do this past week?
I did okay, I definitely had more soda than I probably should have....but my daughters are both sick with croup so sometimes it is just about getting through the day.
3. What are you planning on doing this coming week to set yourself up for success?
This week, more working out for sure and I need to figure out a new lunch option that is healthier. Plus I bought a Hydr-8 water bottle in an attempt to drink more water through out the day...we will see how it goes.
I struggled with an eating disorder for many years so it has been very helpful for me in terms of encouraging nourishing choices and getting out of a dieting mindset.
Keeping up my modified low carb diet and cardio
2. How did you do this past week?
Mostly really well! Had a toddler free weekend, so dh and I had a few meals out that weren't the best but date nights are rare anyhow. Most days are low carb lunches and dinners. Went to the gym 4 times with minimum 30 minutes cardio each time.
3. What are you planning on doing this coming week to set yourself up for success?
Continue going to the gym in the evenings, I love that we have a 24 hour gym closeby. Keep up my low carb meals, thankfully no aversions at this point.
