Re: Hello! Re-intro & update

  • Hi ladies. We're going for retrieval #3. I read this entire thread from the beginning and can't believe I started it last February and here we are a year later with no baby #2 yet and going for retrieval #3. This rollercoaster ride always throws me for a loop when I think everything is finally going smoothly. Would appreciate some positive thoughts and that I'm not back here in another year telling you I'm still doing retrievals.

  • @Tulips29 - aww I'm so sorry that things haven't gone as planned. That's probably the one thing we all get around here. Hopefully this next retrieval will give you a few more embryos so you can go right into baby 2 & then 3.  Sending you all of my thoughts and prayers!

  • @tulips29 ugh sorry to hear but you're doing it again and it will go much better this time. Did any embryos make it and you're doing another ER to get more or none made it? Either way, you are doing another ER and that sucks. Will be thinking of you!! Keep us updated!!
  • @Drove2u We have 2 embryos from this ER...one is looking good and promising and one they are telling me doesn't look that good and is graded poorly. So I'll do another retrieval to see if we can get some more embryos. I've come to peace with it already and really hoping I can move forward with an April transfer

  • Hi @Tulips29 ugh this ivf rollercoaster is just awful. I’m sorry it’s been so tough. Regarding the embryo grading: I have read a few times that the better graded embryos are not necessarily more likely to result in pregnancy. In my case the best ones didn’t make it and the not so good ones did.
So don’t give up hope. All the best with your ER and fingers crossed for an April transfer!

  • @tulips29 april will be here before you know it. it's going to go by so fast!!! when is your next ER now?
  • @flanners1 that's reassuring to hear! I'm really holding out all the hope for my little embies. How are you doing?

@Drove2u hoping for the next ER in around 2 weeks. Just started a new stim cycle last night. It's sad but funny how they don't even faze me now. First time I was terrified of the unknown. Second time I was nervous. Now it's like been there, done that. I so hope third time is the charm!

  • @Drove2u I saw your IG story saying 1 week to go...EEK!!! I can't believe how close you are!!!

@Griffin5413 isn't it crazy to even think "14 weeks to go"...seems like so far away but really it's only 3 months and they will fly by!!!

How are you ladies feeling this time around?

I had my ER yesterday, so thank you for the thoughts and well wishes. They got 21 eggs and 17 fertilized, so now I'm praying we get good day 6 results and then good PGS results. I can't have 1 embryo left at the end of this again! So please keep your good thoughts for me, I will need them all!

@Tulips29 - that's an awesome retrieval! come on little embryo's make it to day 6!!!

I threw my back out on Monday. I'm really bummed that I'm already having back issues this time. With Eli I did pretty well and only had 1 issue at about 32 weeks. I'm really hoping this isn't the norm for the next 14 weeks!

  • @Griffin5413 oh no, I'm so sorry about your back! I really hope you find some relief soon and this will not be the norm for you for the remainder of your pregnancy! Is Eli excited about being a big brother?

  • @Tulips29 - he really has no clue what's coming. Last night he was watching videos of when he was a baby and he kept laughing and saying baby. Sometimes he'll confirm that there's a baby in mommys belly too.

  • @tulips29 any updates?

@Griffin5413 how are you feeling? Hope your back has improved.

I cant believe max is almost a month old already. So sleep deprived and can’t wait to get past this stage. Lol
  • @Drove2u has it really been a month? omg...i mean, i see all your updates on IG, but it seems time is flying by when you're watching from the sidelines...how's viktoria with him?

My retrieval in March yielded much better results so now we have 9 frosties. I'm gearing up for my FET now. Did a natural cycle this time and it's been a bit slow-moving, but we're getting there. The downside is that I don't have a scheduled FET date like I would with a medicated cycle, so I have to play it day by day. It's been a bit stressful trying to plan my work schedule, especially since I need to travel soon and my RE is telling me to just wait and see if I can even travel in the first place. But that's ok, I'm happy things are moving along at least.

  • @Drove2u - I love all of the photos you are posting on IG! I'm not looking forward to the adjustment phase either lol. My back has been much better! I can't believe I have 9 weeks left before she gets here. It feels like it's just around the corner but also so far away.

@Tulips29 - I'm so glad you have been able to move forward! Love that you went from 1 or 2 all the way to 9!

  • @Griffin5413 i'm glad you're feeling better! is Eli ready for his big brother role?
And yes, I'm so happy as well and now just hope they will lead to some good result soon!

The adjustment I'm sure is not easy. Some nights I get 4-5 hours of sleep when I have to work late and get up early for monitoring appts, and I have no idea how I managed to live a zombie life for a year previously...getting up multiple times a night, feedings that lasted an hour, pumping, etc. It all seems like such a distant memory now!

  • @Tulips29 - I think he will be great with her. He may be a little jealous at first but he's great with the babies at school so hopefully it will be the same for him. We bought this sleep training clock for him b/c he has NOT been sleeping all night in his own bed since we switched him to his big boy bed. The last 2 nights he has slept all night in his own bed!!! It's been amazing!

  • @Griffin5413 what sleep training clock did you get?
  • @persnickity - we bought the LittleHippo by Mella on amazon. It had good reviews and it's really easy to use. One of the tips I got from someone who uses them was to get a clock that you could set the sleep time and not have to worry. They had one for their son that you had to manually turn on every night which was a hassle. This one you can just program.
