Y'all, I still have next to no appetite and at 16 weeks, it's *still* hard to find food that sounds good. I'm even tired of carbs, which is like, a sign of the apocalypse for me.
The biggest bummer is I have an upcoming trip to New Orleans. SO MUCH GOOD FOOD! Only, will I be able to eat it? These are the things that keep me up at night.
I'm almost 14 weeks and also don't have the greatest appetite. That said, I just ordered myself a Tex-Mex feast to be delivered to my office. Hope it still sounds good when it gets here!!
@ElcaB How long until you go? Hopefully your appetite comes back in time, especially since you can't even drink! Hands down best thing I ate when I was there was a shrimp po'boy with gravy.
I want all the fresh things and all the sweet things. This has lead me eating so much fruit, it has been delicious. Also, I could eat a subway veggie delight on flatbread every day.

Just had my first this coffee tastes awful moment. And I need it!! Have not gotten enough sleep. My office does free soda between January and April, so I will probably go grab something from the fridge, but I have been drinking way too much soda this pregnancy.
@mrosek91 I've been drinking too much Coke lately. But it actually makes my nausea quiet down. Idk if it's the bubbles, the sugar, or the caffeine or what. But it makes me feel less pukey.
I am SO GLAD to be wanting good food again! This morning I made delicious avocado toast with a hard boiled egg sliced on top, nutritional yeast and turmeric. Last night I made Italian sausage and tortellini soup that came out fantastic. I’m thinking BLT’s will be on the menu soon and I’m still craving spicy so maybe I’ll make curry this weekend. 😋
Fruits and veggies have been my jam lately. Yesterday, I stopped at a California pizza kitchen while shopping to eat a margherita pizza, buffalo cauliflower, and a cucumber mint something sparkling water drink. Meat has been pretty much a no go for me.
People think we become mothers when we give birth but the truth is we become mothers the moment we start calling our babies to us in our thoughts, dreams and prayers. Some paths are short and some are so long that you can easily forget where you were headed.

It is basically taking absolutely no convincing to get me to eat out lately. Examples from this week:
Wednesday: Out of cumin so could not make fajitas as planned. Craving Jimmy Johns after a few convos.about it Mon and Tues. Had JJs delivered to the Y after DD finished gymnastics so I did not even have to go a mile out of my way to get it.
Thursday: At lunch time I needed to run an errand near a local restaurant I love....well it would be rude not to pick up lunch.
Friday: Somehow missed DDs bus this morning. Pick up is 7:59 and we were out from 7:55-8:10. I had to load both kids in the car to take her to school...well DS totslly deserves a donut for dealing with a hectic morning.

Our house guests just left, and DH took the boys to my MIL for the day so I made myself a fake mimosa using sparkling grape juice, and am eating a crispy chicken sandwich and fries.
I ate almost a whole (family size) bag of tortilla chips with salsa while making fajitas. The fajitas were pretty good also, but whoever invented the “restaurant style” chips clearly has never been to a Mexican restaurant.
What’s more shocking is what I’m not eating. I got three boxes of Girl Scout cookies last week and haven’t eaten the first cookie. Pre-pregnancy I would have polished off at least one box by now.
@ElcaB - I'm heading to NOLA this week and already planning where to go for King Cake and Po Boys (#nolaeats on instagram might get you ready).... But SAME in that I'm craving food, ordering too much, and then can't eat it. I'm just pretending like I'll be able to eat all the food I'm salivating over....
I am still really struggling with fruits and vegetables here. They just really don't taste good. I managed to eat some cabbage yesterday that was mixed into a bowl, and I counted that as a win.
I ate a whole carton on blueberries in one sitting the other night. I’m craving red meat and I haven’t been chanting sweets lately. Today at lunch I splurged and got a calzone, it was delicious.
Just had the perfect bowl of comfort food. 1. Fill a bowl halfway with elbow macaroni 2. Lay 2 slices of American cheese on top so they form a single layer 3. Fill the bowl the rest of the way with elbow macaroni 4. Microwave for 1 minute 5. Add a healthy squirt of ketchup 6. Mix 7. Enjoy!!
Ever since week 12 or so, this baby loves when I eat healthy! I've been craving crisp salads, veggies, and fruit like crazy. I picked up some local grass-fed ground beef the other day and oh, my, gosh! I made the best, juiciest, drool-worthy burgers with avo, red onion, tomato and jalapenos, homemade baked fries and a butter lettuce/spinach salad with EVOO and balsamic. SO GOOD! I can't stop thinking about it. I also made Trader Joe's black bean rotini pasta with their arrabiata sauce and added in sauteed red bell peppers, onions, garlic and kale... it was soooo good! I made a dairy-free white bean and cashew ricotta so I could put a dollop on top of the pasta and it totally made my day. So basically if you need me I'll be over here daydreaming about my next meal.
I was not a big seafood eater before I got pregnant the first time. Apparently pregnancy changed that for me, because last pregnancy and now again I am allll about the seafood. I have always enjoyed shrimp/scallops/crab. But now I'm craving fried fish so badly!
There is no seafood restaurant within 15 minutes of us, so I stopped at the grocery store this AM and got battered frozen fish, and just ate some with my DS. YUM. I'm going to turn into fried fish before this baby pops out!

I can’t get enough of olives. And all things salty.

However, I made a cheesy chicken-bacon-broccoli ranch casserole for dinner. Holy yum. I ate 2 servings & scraped the bowl clean.
Meat is still meh.
