Re: February Symptoms Thread

  • Any other STM+ moms feeling "full"? DS#2 hasn't nursed in over 6 months. Last night DH made a comment about how my boobs were "getting heavy again" and all of a sudden today I'm feeling full. Like that uncomfortable feeling I used to get when the boys would go too long between feedings. Trying to figure out if it's psychosomatic. I don't remember having this with #2.

  • @mkrel - Ha ... me too! I have already been sick with cold/flu twice in this pregnancy, and before that, I hadn't been sick in a year and a half.
  • @jmesue1030 me too!! Especially on my right side it seems. I just figured I'm old and falling apart. Maybe these pains are actually pregnancy related!

@lilmamabebe3 there has been some of that! It was so constant though, that I didn't think it could possibly be baby! That would be super cool though!!
I'm so sorry about your migraine. Those are so awful. I'm glad it started resolving!
  • @mrosek91 sometimes I feel full but other times totally deflated lol. But I quit producing over 18m ago. I think it's just our bodies gearing up for another round of fun and excitement (sarcasm...I couldn't breastfeed so exclusively pumped for 9 months)
    DD1 5/23/14, DD2 12/5/16   Baby #3 on the way!

  • @sourlemon I admire your dedication. Pumping is the worst. I did it twice a day once I went back to work, and hated it. It's amazing that you were willing to do that for your DD.
  • I'm hoping to breastfeed this time but if not, I probably will go straight to formula. I'm on heart meds that do transfer through breast milk but the doctor has still cleared me tentatively for breastfeeding. But if this baby won't latch or hates it, I'd almost rather not expose the baby to the meds.

But then I never planned to pump last time after I went back to work but with a sick December baby I wanted to try to help her out. That was really the only reason I kept it going. Cuz yes, it's a PITA especially 6-7 times a day/night when working full time.

  • Oh I also had a deal with DH that he had to change all poopy diapers (if he was around) for 9 months plus however long I was breastfeeding or pumping. That helped the motivation haha.

  • @sourlemon We had a “deal” that DH would take care of the umbilical cord and I would cut the baby nails. The kid is 6 and I’m still exclusively cutting his nails. I’ll be more careful with my deals this time 😂😂. And DH will still site the original agreement like it’s valid.
  • @mrosek91 I'm still nursing my 17 month old 2x a day on average.  I had the full feeling for the first time in MONTHS the other day.

+1 to feeling movement.  I've been wondering for a week and a half (since 15 and a half weeks but I thought that was too early bc I didn't feel ds until 18+3) but I'm totally convinced now it's baby. I'm 17 weeks tomorrow,  so definitely not too early and retrospectively I think I've been feeling him/her since 15+3.

  • I could not stop sneezing yesterday. Sneezed in bed and my abdomen was instantly painful like I pulled something.  My stomach today feels so TIGHT! I just want to stretch it out.
  • So I just got back from my trip (where I had a head/chest cold the whole time) and now I think I have a UTI. I’ve been in the bathroom all morning because the only comfortable position I can seem to find is sitting on the toilet. My whole right side is cramping too and it’s making me uncomfortable when I try to sit or lay down anywhere.

  • @MollyH1987 Hopefully you feel better soon!  I had bronchitis+a UTI recently. No fun- especially on your trip.

My elbows and feet have been absurdly dry & itchy. Yesterday, (13+1), I woke up with more energy than I’ve had since the BFP. It was like a switch flipped inside of me. With that, I was also up in the night 5ish times to use the bathroom.
  • The hip pain from side sleeping has started. It's fine when I'm on my own in the pregnancy pillow and I just switch sides every now and then.  But then ds joined us in bed and was nursing and blocking the branch of the pillow from being accessible to me.  Staying in one position on my side for so long was not enjoyable.....

  • I am really annoyed. First trimester I was happy as a clam! Super level, nothing could bother me. Now I'm irritable and ready to cry.  I want my other hormones back!
  • @agpandme yeppp!! I woke up cranky this morning and am being super irritable towards DH— he’s like “what’s wrong???” I’m like “NOTHING I DONT KNOW LEAVE ME ALONE!!!” 😂 oof sorry hubs
  • @jmesue1030 I did that yesterday. I was nasty and then apologized immediately. He understood but was very "WTF Lady?" I am just hitting level 10 every single time.  It sucks!
  • Why am I still always tired 😴
  • @parrothead78 This is just a wild guess, but it could be the fact you are currently growing another human, and running after a toddler... I was exhausted pretty regularly before I got pregnant...
(I just typed I was exhausted pretty regularly before I got tired... See you're not the only one.)
  • Anyone else getting bloody noses? I never get them, but I've been getting bloody noses a couple of times a week. Apparently it's common, but it's inconvenient and kind of embarrassing!
  • Anyone else gassy AF?!
  • @jmesue1030 yes. yes. yes. So thankful I have my own office...until someone walks in.
  • @jmesue1030 omg yes! haha

I'll be 16 weeks on Saturday and my newest thing is feeling like my stomach is hanging out... which makes sense. I'm pregnant! But still. It's the first time for me where my belly is starting to feel like there's a baby in there!
  • @sw1122 It's my least favorite symptom. What's weird is I never got them with DD1 and I was pregnant through a bitterly cold, dry winter and then we move to a humid climate and I get them with both this pregnancy and DD2.  Don't understand it, and agree it's annnnnnnoying.

  • @sourlemon Late to the party but I exclusively pumped for DD2 for 9 months, too.  Solidarity.

  • @sw1122 Yes, nosebleeds here too. From what I understand it has more to do with how close to the surface your vessels are to the skin than the weather.
Rainbow baby Dean is due 2/17/17!
  • Aargh my fingernails are a horror show! All the pregnancy progress info is like "you have beautiful vibrant hair and your fingernails are luscious and thick and could take down Wolverine from X men" and I'm over here with the tips of my nails peeling apart, gross! This didn't happen with my last pregnancy, and was not an issue pre-pregnancy. I'm worried it's some kind of vitamin/nutritional deficiency but I don't know what (the internet says it could be a vegetable/nut oil deficiency so sure, I'll eat more peanut butter).
  • @cato99 I had great nails with my first two pregnancies. This pregnancy they are thin and almost clear. And the skin all around them is peeling off no matter how much stuff I put on. Not really sure why this one is so different except my first 2 were girls and this is one suspected to be a boy. Other than that the only difference has been antibiotics for a kidney infection, but the nail issues started before the first antibiotic was taken.

  • @WinchesterGirl + @peachy0709 - according to Google, 'Pregnancy can make the blood vessels in your nose expand, and your increased blood supply puts more pressure on those delicate vessels, causing them to rupture more easily'. I guess this makes sense - which is what I say about every symptom I've experienced thus far: it makes sense, but what a pain the ass.
