  • @griffin5413 and @tulips29 checking in to see how you guys are doing.
  • @Drove2u - I had FET on the 4th as planned. now I'm in that overanalyze every little thing your body feels hoping that means your pregnant. LOL... first beta is Sunday. I will probably take my own test on Sat or Sun morning just to have an idea.

  • @griffin5413 omg!!! That’s so exciting!!
  • @Drove2u I'm doing well. Prepping for a retrieval cycle. I met with the new RE, going for some sonograms next week and then hoping to have a clear game plan. I'm so anxious waiting! A little nervous as when I met with the new RE, he saw something on my left ovary. He is sending me to a specialist next week to confirm what it is (if it's a cyst or something else) and if it should be removed. I'm really nervous of what it can possibly be and how it wasn't there previously or wasn't noticed by the previous RE. If it's something that needs to be removed, it will delay the whole process, but I'm hoping it's nothing more serious than a cyst. Also have my salinesonogram next week, which I hated last time...it was sooo painful! I'm not looking forward to it.

How are you doing? How's pregnancy treating you this time around?

  • Griffin5413 hoping to hear some good news from you on the beta front!

Tulips29 let us know how your appointments go this week. Fingers crossed everything goes smoothly and you can move right along.

I’m doing ok. 17 weeks now and having a boy! It’s been a bit of a stressful pregnancy because long story short but my OBGYN misread/misinterpreted my NIPT test results and told me my baby will most likely be very messed up and we should consider terminating. Had a 16 week anatomy scan and will have another one 19 week scan and all looks ok. More blood tests and so far they’re coming out ok too. So we will see. But I’m hopefuly and this definetly confirmed that we’re only having two kids. Way too stressful.

    How's everyone else doing?

  • Hey ladies! My first beta was 188 yesterday! 2nd will be tomorrow. Its a little surreal but really exciting too.

@Tulips29 - good luck with your appointments this week!!!

@Drove2u - that's terrifying! I'm glad the scans look good though. Did you guys do genetic testing? I'll be thinking about you as you are waiting for the next scan.

  • @Drove2u OMG how scary! How in the world did that doctor misread the results and said to terminate? So so glad you didn't listen. Ugh, I would raise hell if someone said that to me and everything turned out ok. Imagine who else she misinforms like that and someone decides to take the advice and terminate? Terrible! On a happier note, congratulations on a little boy! So exciting. Now you'll have one of each . Are you preparing your daughter for a sibling in any way?

@Griffin5413 I already said this on FB, but congratulations again! So exciting! Did you guys find out ahead of time if you were transferring a boy or girl embryo? Fingers crossed for a great second beta!

  • Griffin5413 Congratulations! That’s so exciting! How was 2nd beta? Did you have an US yet? BTW, I’ll be in Phoenix this weekend!

We did not do genetic testing since I didn’t have a history of miscarriages and I had unexplained fertility, no family history of abnormalities etc. plus it was $5k out of pocket and felt like we didn’t need to do that at the time.

Tulips29 I was furious and totally told off that doctor. She’s fresh out of residency but still not an excuse. All of my tests so far have come out great. Still need to do anatomy scan and a fetal echo. I don’t even think we will announce on social media until a couple of months before I’m due…just to wait for everything to come back and know that everythings fine. Did you find out if you have a cyst or something else? How was your salinesonogram?

19  weeks now and it's just going by so fast!!!
  • @Drove2u holy moly, you're pretty much half way through this pregnancy! I can't believe how quickly time is flying. My sonogram went ok. The RE saw a polyp too, so now I'm having surgery next month to remove the polyp and the cyst on my ovary. After that, we're hoping I can start the retrieval process/medications in January once I have a month to rest after the surgery. I'm so impatient!

  • somehow I just saw this. lol... @Drove2u - ultrasounds have been good. I just graduated from the RE so my first ob appt is next week. I'm feeling more crummy this pregnancy since last. We are having a girl this time so maybe that's why but I'm feeling just slightly nauseous all day long which is a great way to spend the day. lol. It could be worse! I'm sad I missed you on your trip!

  • Tulips29 your surgery must be coming up soon! Just wanted to wish you good luck! That’s great that you’re getting it done and can start your cycle fresh. But I hear you! I’m impatient too. Haha January will be here in no time though. Seriously. It’s like right here.

Griffin5413 congrats on a girl!! One of each! Just like us! How far along are you now? And yes, we just got back from Phoenix. It was super busy between visiting my sis and working so no worries. But I’m sure I’ll make it out there alone at some point and then we must meet up.

  • Hi. I just wanted to check in here. I know I've heard about some news from some of you on FB. Congrats on the pregnancies! Tulips29 hope you have/had a quick recovery from your surgery and you can begin the ivf process soon.

I'm 30 weeks (plus 2 days) pregnant today. Although most of the pregnancy is going well, I did not pass the 1 hour glucose test. So, I'm sitting here in a waiting room in the middle of my 3 hour glucose tolerance test I've had a couple of issues prior to this. A few weeks ago I became lightheaded while I was teaching and had to go home. I was hungry at the time and knew I needed to eat. Then on the night of my birthday I got sick with what I think was a 24 stomach virus. DS was sick that weekend so I probably caught it from him. Since I've gotten the results from the first glucose test, I've made some improvements in my diet. Although I'll find out the results of the 3 hour test, I personally think I threw off my blood sugar from not eating well the last month or two. I've been so hungry and need to eat more often. However  sometimes overdo it, eat when I'm not hungry, or am very tempted to eat the wrong things.

It's hard to manage DS when he doesn't want to cooperate since he's bigger and I get tired and out of breath more easily. However, luckily he's usually OK and just goes through phases where he doesn't want to cooperate. Otherwise he's still the same happy boy.
  • @lynnnj wow! 30 weeks! that's amazing! PM me your FB name and I'l find you. Do you have IG or no? I prefer that better. Sorry about the glucose tests and fingers crossed you pass the 3 hour one. And I feel you girl, it's hard to be pregnant while taking care of a toddler. and then you have to take care of yourself too!! ha!
I'm 23 weeks now. It's going by so fast!!

@tulips29 thinking of you! let us know how everythings going.
  • @Drove2u - I'm almost 10 1/2 weeks and really glad this first trimester is almost over! I had to have my dr give me  nausea meds this time but thankfully they have been helping!

@LynnNJ - you are getting so close!!! hopefully your 3 hr test goes well. I've heard so many times that the 1st test has a false positive which really makes the 3 hr a hassle.

I feel you both on chasing a toddler around this time. I had a friend tell me during my first pregnancy that I should nap whenever I felt the need b/c I wouldn't be able to this time around. That couldn't be more true especially during the weekdays. I'm exhausted from working all day and come home to wrangle a toddler. The nice thing is that on the weekends, I try to nap when Eli does and he's a really good napper so I usually get at least 2 hrs.

@Tulips29 I hope your surgery went well. You probably don’t feel like check the board, but when you do, you’ll know we’ve all been thinking of you.

@Drove2u @LynnNJ hope you are doing well!

  • Hi ladies! I totally fell off the bump as the last few weeks have been crazy. Thank you so much for your thoughts. I love how supportive this community is! My surgery was on the 20th and everything went well. Recovery was a bit rough for the first week. I was in pain, couldn't walk too much, but then couldn't sit for too long otherwise I'd get in pain, and couldn't even pick up my son which was the hardest part. Luckily, this second week has been pretty well. I had my 2 week check-up today and I'm healing well. The cyst was non-cancerous so I'm happy with the outcome. Now I'm having this internal struggle with how to proceed next. Some quick background - reason we went through IVF the first time is that I don't ovulate on my own and couldn't get pregnant. Went to a new RE in September who found the cyst and sent me for surgery before proceeding with next retrieval/IVF cycle. However, the new RE also did blood work and said I was ovulating when blood was drawn and that I would get my period soon (surprise!). He said chances are it was a fluke and wouldn't happen again. However, I got my period a week later and since then had another cycle last month. I'm baffled since I haven't had a cycle in years without medication. I don't know what to think and what to do. Current thoughts running through my head are - is this really happening? Am I somehow now on track with my cycles? Am I going to ovulate on my own again? Should we try naturally? Do we go through IVF and not wait? Do we even need IVF? How long do we try on our own before starting treatment since we're both not getting any younger? I'm SO confused! I don't think I can start treatments until January anyway as my clinic closes at the end of December for a week and they would need to get the retrieval done by then, which isn't likely.

@lynnnj I can't believe how far along you are already! It seems that just yesterday you posted your news to us on FB. Time is flying so fast. I hope you passed your 3 hour test and feeling better! I imagine it's hard chasing a toddler while being pregnant as well.

@Drove2u You're more than half way through your pregnancy too. Is your daughter aware that she's getting a sibling yet?

@Griffin5413 remind me, you're having a girl or you guys don't know? Hopefully you get some relief from that nausea soon! 2 hour naps are so wonderful! I also nap sometimes when A naps on the weekends and it's such a nice recharge!

@flanners Congratulations! That's so exciting! Fingers crossed for a great appointment tomorrow.

  • @Drove2u I sent you a message. I don't have IG. I mentioned in the message that dh and i mostly use FB for posting photos and fun stuff, but we are pretty private about personal stuff so there is no mention of any this stuff on my FB statuses. But feel free to contact me there. I do talk to people through the messenger sometimes.

    @flanners1 Congratulations!

@tulips2 Glad the surgery went well!

So to update everyon2e, I did not pass the 3 hour test. I was not so upset that I was told pretty bluntly (after all the ups and downs of the whole experience leading to ds being born not much phases me now) I was upset because I felt like  dropped a bomb on me, rambled off info, and then I didn't really get to ask many questions. I just was given the info for a class I was supposed to take and that I was supposed to test myself 4 x a day and send the results after 3 to 4 days. For the next few days dh and my parents helped me research a bit while I started to change my diet on my own. The class was not for another week and I was not willing to wait a week to get started.  With the changes I made on my own, my numbers were great. The problem was that I was not eating enough. I finally went to the class yesterday  While they mostly covered stuff I knew, the dietician helped me up with a meal plan where I would eat more carbs and not be so hungry. Yesterday was day 1 of trying the plan and although I tested a little higher  it was still in the normal range me I wasn't so hungry. If all goes well, this should all be controlled by my diet and shouldn't need medication.

I have 2 more weeks of work left!  . ... plus few days in January. Other than the GD and having another cold, the pregnancy has been treating me well. I did notice that once I started eating better I was not so tired during the day. I'm physically tired and out of breath at times  but I've been less mentally tired.

I'm still trying to get a mother's helper. Not sure if I mentioned that here or not. I'm planning to handle the baby mostly on my own, but I need someone to help with ds when when he's not at daycare. DH is not super helpful at home or at least it's not reliable help on a consistent basis. Some of the reasons are not totally his fault, but other things I could make an issue over. However  when we are out places, he does step up a lot more. Anyway, I need help because it will be another c-section and I won't be able to lift ds or physically keep up with him. I'm also thinking that a mother's helper could watch the baby while I spend time with ds like reading to him before bed. Anyway, he's keeping my mind off of many pregnancy complaints and it's been so exciting to watch him grow and start doing more this year.
  • @LynnNJ - I'm so sorry that you didn't pass the 3 hr but it sounds like you have a really good plan in place.Plus you only have a few more weeks left so hopefully that makes it a little easier! I'm more nervous this time around about GD. You're totally right though about feeling better when you eat better. I know when I don't get enough water, I get headaches and I'm more tired. I hope the next few weeks go by smoothly and you enjoy these last moments with just your little one. I love that idea of a helper, especially after a c-section.

flanners1 congrats! How did your HB appt go? How far along are you now?

Tulips29 So happy to hear the surgery went well. That’s amazing news that it was non-cancerous. Phew for that! Have you made any decisions on how to proceed? I’ve been telling/prepping my daughter for a sibling but she just has no clue. I do think she’s going to be in for a rude awakening though when the baby comes. Lol

@lynnNJ so sorry to hear about the 3 hour test. What a bummer!!! I’m nervous to take mine. Did you pass/fail your first time? I responded to your message. Feel free to find me too because I was having trouble. Even if in the message that is really you, I can’t friend you. It’s grayed out as though you’re not accepting anymore friend requests. So friend me! Lol

  • @Drove2u - i'll be in 2nd trimester next week. we are going to take a picture of Eli in front of the Christmas tree with a sign saying Santa has promoted me to big brother... this is of course if I can get him to sit still long enough to take it. lol! I'll post that on IG & FB. So we will probably do it on Christmas day.

  • @Drove2u aww thanks! I originally thought I could get Eli to sit and hold the sign but we all know that getting a 2 year old to sit still is impossible. LOL I am 17w 3d. My ob just called to tentatively schedule my csection for June 14 which is pretty crazy. I'm hoping to be off my nausea meds soon but every time I try I end up sick. Other than that, I feel pretty good right now. We are having a girl this time and I'm still trying to get used to saying that. Every week when I look on my trimester board, I keep expecting to see boy. lol

Tulips29 - I'm so excited for you that you are finally moving along! fingers crossed for a quick retrieval date with a lot of eggs retrieved!

  • @Tulips29 so excited to hear you’re starting your journey. Sending you lots of positive thoughts!

@Drove2u I’m now 13 weeks - whoop! Made it over that 12 week milestone. Now hoping my cervix stays competent as long as possible! Can’t believe you’re so close already. How are you feeling?

@Griffin5413 sorry to hear that nausea is still hanging around. That’s crazy.
We are in the exact opposite positions: we have a 21month-old girl and are now having a boy and I can’t wrap my head around it fully yet, either!

  • It's exciting to see everyone's updates! My c-section is Monday. I felt a little emotional putting ds#1 to bed tonight knowing that I won't see him much next week and his whole world is about to change. I'm in pretty good spirits about everything but know my life is about to go back to nighttime feedings and lack of sleep. I might have mentioned on one of the boards that I ended up with gestational diabetes this time, but controlled it pretty well by diet alone. It is supposed to be gone once the baby is born, so I might end up splurging a little in the hospital. When I get home I do have to watch my diet again since I'd like to get my original weight back. Anyway, congrats on all the pregnancies and I'll be following everyone's progress.
  • @LynnNJ - can't wait to see pics of that beautiful new baby! Hope everything goes well and you have a quick recovery!

  •

Tulips29 your retrieval must be coming up any day now.

flanners1 congrats on getting into the second tri! 33 weeks now. Getting really uncomfortable but only a few more weeks to go!

Griffin5413 aww congrats on the girl! Girls are the best! I say that though because that’s all I know. Lol have you started picking out names yet?

@lynnnj congrats!!! How are you feeling now?

  • @Drove2u - Every time we think we like a name we change our mind. Right now we are thinking maybe Emily, Allyson, Ashley or Katelyn.. that could change tomorrow though. lol... I don't want her to share her name with like 5 other girls in her class growing up though.

  • @Drove2u I had my retrieval last week actually. What a different experience this time around! Last time I was out of commission for almost a week. I suspect I had OHSS, although my RE never told me this. This new RE monitored me sooo closely every single day (so daily blood draws and u/s's became a bit much) but I never felt uncomfortable and was on my feet the next day after retrieval. I'm so anxious now to find out tomorrow how many eggs fertilize and will be sent off for PGS. Last retrieval they got 19 eggs and we only had 1 at the time of transfer, so I pray this doesn't happen again and I don't have to go through this process all over for the third time! How are you holding up with your pregnancy?

  • @Tulips29 Hope you  had good results.

My c-section recovery is a lot easier this time. Although it has been so helpful having help with big brother,  it is very hard to sit back watching other people (including family and even dh) me him differently than I would. In some ways, it makes me feel good about everything I've done on my own day after day, even while late into the pregnancy. I really miss him as well and all of the time we used to spend together. He has been very accepting of his baby brother and seems to have grown up so much in the last two weeks. Once I can physically handle him, I am anxious to take over bedtime again. I'm not sure how I'll juggle the two of them, but I have ideas.

I'm trying to figure out the best way to feed the baby. Ultimately I'm going to use formula, but I'm trying to breastfeed as much as I can right now since his big brother is bringing home lots of germs from daycare. I'm not totally stressing over it but having some issues and trying to figure out the best feeding approach. Overall, my experience has been much more positive this time around. Having experience definitely helps
  • @Tulips29 - any news on retrieval??? I'm so glad recovery was better this time. OHSS sucks!

@LynnNJ - I'm glad to hear that recovery is going better this time! I'm so nervous for that. I'm going to have my OB tie my tubes while she's in there but I still need to talk to her more about what to expect. That's such a good idea about breastfeeding to keep new baby as healthy as possible with daycare germs! My goal is to try to breastfeed again but not stress out so much this time if it doesn't work out the way I want it to.

  • @Griffin5413 4 eggs made it to PGS  I'm so worried we won't have any normal ones to transfer and I'll have to go through another retrieval. This is exhausting, stressful, time consuming and just overall draining process.

  • @tulips29 any updates?
@griffin5413 I also thought about getting my tubes out/tied during my c-section. We're pretty much done, but my husband is unsure. lol. It's just that it's so permanent.

  • @Drove2u - at almost 37 I don't want to be pregnant again. I have not enjoyed this round as much as the last and I by no means have it as rough as some. I know our RE told my husband it would be a miracle if he got me pregnant naturally but stranger things have happened and 10 years down the road, I don't want a "surprise." lol. I think my husband is just glad I'm not asking him to get a vasectomy.

  • Griffin5413  oh I completely hear you. I'll be 38 in April. and this pregnancy also has not been as awesome as the first. and I also didn't really have it THAT rough. I also don't want a surprise in 10 years and our chances of having one naturally are probably pretty good because there was never anything wrong found with us. And my thinking is why not do it while i'm in surgery anyway...there's not a greater recovery time. rather than have him go through surgery and the recovery. I'll be recovering anyway so might as well. I'll have to have the convo with him again soon since we're only 5 weeks away from C-section.
  • @Drove2u I can't believe how close you are to baby #2! Seems like time has been flying by!

I'm now in the dreaded wait for the PGS results. Hopefully all the embryos come back normal because my emotions are high as is and going through another retrieval all over again might push me over the edge
