How far along are you? How big is baby?Based on LMP 13w0d, based on past u/s 12w0d, based on Thursdays u/s 13w3d...so uh we will see lol.

How old is/are you other kid(s)? DD6 DS2

Nails and fails from this week: Nails:energy is coming back and nausea is decreasing, so I was more productive. Fails: we ate so much crap this week .

Rant/Rave/Dear Diary: DD has numerous health problems that have been very trying for us especially in the past year. She had a terrible visit with a somewhat lcoal geneticist last September that ended with, "This is not normal, this is concerning, I am at a loss. Come back in 2 years." Since then we have been on a waitlist to get scheduled with a geneticist at a bigger hospital 3 hours away. I just got a call that her appt is August 15th...of course it would be right when I am due with baby3. So now I have to call and ask to push back this super important appt.

We had chocolate filled with chocolate mousse and fresh strawberries and white cake filled with cassata filling...it was amazing. People talked about the cake for like 2 year after.

Nail - We had lunch company today. DH did most of the cooking, but still I managed to host.
Fail - DH was taking a nap, and I couldn't keep my eyes open, so I woke him to watch the boys, and went to sleep. Apparently when he responded he could watch them, he was sleep talking... Luckily all they managed to do during my 20 minute power nap was empty a bag of grapes onto the floor, I don't want to think about how many unwashed grapes they ate.

A little background, this is me by my car. I am obsessed with this car, and everyone in my family makes fun of it. My friend who was driving me around on my wedding day accidentally left it in the driveway where the photographer wanted to take pictures, as soon as he saw it he insisted on taking pictures with it.

Nails and fails from this week: Fail: Attempted to potty train DS1 and he would not have it by the third day. He threw a big tantrum and was fighting me and would not sit on the potty. We were doing so well on the 2nd day and by the 3rd day he was done. Not sure what to do now.

Rant/Rave/Dear Diary: My DH got me Girl Scout cookies today while I was at work. Samoas and Thin Mints. With the last several days being rough with potty training, it made my day!

Nails and fails from this week: fail DS bit through both his acceptable pacifiers yesterday and only had the reject left. Nail: he cried less than 5 minutes and slept through the night anyways. Woohoo!

Nails and fails from this week: Nails- I feel like I'm getting a little of my energy back. Fail- My house is slowly falling apart, so need to take advantage of these good energy days.

GTKY: share pictures of your flowers/cake/something less personal or a story from your wedding day; My wedding pre-dates my smartphone, so don't have pics handy. But we had a spring wedding with big colorful Gerber daisies.

@Babylovecali Both of my kids did the same thing. I don't know if it's the right parenting move, but I used bribery. Candy, small toys from the dollar store, stickers. Whatever motivates them.

@Allycat11 I’m sorry about your daughter, it’s so scary not knowing! I can’t remember if you live in Michigan or if I just decided you did based off your weather, and I know it would still be far, but the Cleveland Clinic always promotes quick appointments

@Babylovecali I would go easy on the potty training, DS seems to be showing he’s not ready. Just occasionally ask him if he wants to sit on it and wait for signs that he seems more ready.

Nails and fails from this week: Surviving and starting to feel like 2nd tri is right around the corner. Also, I worked out 3 times.

Rant/Rave/Dear Diary: DH started working nights this week and will be on them through March. There’s so much alone time and me and DD time when he’s on nights. It’s so lonely and exhausting. I’ve also been getting so jealous of FTM who can just be pregnant and not have a LO at home. But then DD says “mom, cuddle with me!” And it all evens out.

I loved our cake, it was triple berry vanilla layered with white chocolate raspberry cheesecake. It was so good!

@Babylovecali he does not sound ready to potty train so personally I would take a break for awhile. Maybe put him on the toilet before bath time but tone down the full on potty training. DD was truly not ready at all until she was 3.5. When she was ready it was done in 1 day and we never had an accident or run to the bathroom emergency. At the time DS was 2 months old and I remember nursing him on the bathroom floor while working with her. It was definitely not my first choice but it is what she needed. Hang in there, potty training is tough stuff!

@Emilya724 Good guess, we do live in MI! She has countless specialists at DeVos but now we are going to U of M for neurology, neurosurgery, genetics and sleep clinic. We thought about seeing Cleveland Clinic or Mayo Clinic but insurance would not cover it. Not knowing is very frustrating, we have several confirmed diagnoses but her whole team is certain there is a missing link, most likely a neuromuscular disease or connective tissue disease.

Fail - dozed off watching my toddler two mornings this week. Thankfully she didn’t cause any problems (we were in a kid-proofed area) but one time she loaded all her toys on top of me...I woke up when the Amazon delivery guy rang the doorbell and toys went flying.
Nail - despite feeling horrible the last several days, my kid is still alive and generally unscathed.

Rant/Rave/Dear Diary:
My mom is coming for a week-long visit and I’m feeling like I just need to survive until she gets here in a few days. I seriously need the help.

GTKY: Our florist did such a fantastic job with our flowers. I loved them so much. I asked for blue (specifically blue hydrangeas) and white (with plenty of baby’s breath) and let them do the rest.

@BigBadWolf12 I'm impressed that your Aunt made that. If I ever find myself with extra time in my life, I would love to learn how to decorate cakes.

Nails and fails from this week: I feel like a broken record, too much screen time... maybe that's our new pregnancy normal? Nail: Managed to get every item of laundry in the house cleaned and put away this weekend.

Rant/Rave/Dear Diary: I really need to buy more maternity clothes, but I don't want to spend the money. I keep researching things I want to buy and then leaving them in the cart.

Nails and fails from this week: Nails - we took the kids on a mini-vacation to the Great Wolf Lodge and it was great. I was surprised I had the energy for it, but I did it. I'm also feeling remarkably better.

Rant/Rave/Dear Diary: I already wrote about this on our group check in, but I'm tired of waiting for DH's blood work back. I also wish work would pick up a little bit - I'm in week 2 at the new job and I went from working constantly to doing almost nothing the past week and it's making me a bit stir crazy.

@peachy0709 we love Great Wolf Lodge! We usually go for 1 or 2 weekends a year. This year I am on the fence about it because I can't do the waterslides with DD, which she LOVES, and DH is afraid of anythinf involving heights lol.

@mkrel I think we can all give ourselves a bit of grace on the screen time 😊 I picked DS up from preschool and we are now eating Taco Bell while watching puppy dog pals. He is happy and eating so I call that a win for the day lol.

@Allycat11 can you call, explain that your due at that time and see if they can possibly move it up instead of pushing it back? I'm a pushy mamabear when it comes to getting specialist referrals for my kids, so if it takes nagging or calls or getting my ped involved I will do what ever it takes. Also could you get on a wait list for cancellations?

@Babylovecali It sounds like he's not ready. I would give it a break for a while. Still offer the potty but try to make it a positive experience. pushing before they are ready can cause them to hold their poop leading to constipation and a whole world of other bath room related issues that are no fun for everyone and can take a long time to resolve... plus the recently potty trained stage is such a PITA...

Nail: I got my sub plans for tomorrow's training finished on Friday, so I didn't have to stay late making copies!
Fail: I'm so impatient about getting my NIPT results back from the testing company- through my doctor's portal, I already know that it was negative, but I want to know the gender so badly!

@wabash15 I am definitely a pushy mama bear about referrals too. DD has a medical team of 25+ people and I am constantly fighting to get the right people in place at the right time. I need to call them this week and see what they can do, more likely than not they will push it back to September and after waiting this long one more month is not a huge deal. Unfortunately her other specialists at this hospital have already said their genetics department is really difficult to get into and even they can't pull any strings to make it happen faster.

@Babylovecali I'm mostly seconding what everyone else said, with much less experience, but potty training is a constant roller coaster of ups and downs. When we started DS1 he did great for about 2 weeks and I thought we had gotten off easy, that was about 2 months ago, after 2 weeks he started refusing to go. He's slowly been getting back to it now, will do it more at daycare than with us, which his teacher says is peer pressure.
The fun part is tonight he threw a fit because I put him in the Mickey pull up instead of the McQueen one. Not sure what we're going to do with half a box of pull ups he refuses to wear...

We have far too much screen time over here but I at least turn on yoga for the kids to do after dinner. They both love it and I don't feel quite as guilty about being lazy and typing this!

If you haven't heard of cosmic kids yoga, YouTube it! My 4.5 year old does all of it but my 2.5 year old does it on and off the whole time. It's generally a success.
