How are you feeling?: Nauseous. So nauseous and my hips are a disaster but otherwise physically ok.
Rants/Raves: I really need to start feeling unquestionable movement soon. I am so stressed constantly. I want to be able to start enjoying this a little more. Also DD has a dentist appointment today to treat a cavity and I'm freaking our she's going to be allergic to something they use. So just another day over here:/
Questions: Anyone else having a hard time being sure that what they are feeling is movement and not just gas/digestion/etc?
GTKY: I met SO at a New Year's Eve party about 20 years ago (Ukrainian New Years not regular New Years). My uncle was in the hospital and my aunt didn't want to miss the party so she dragged me along. I thought SO was super hot but he actually shot me down since one of his friends was interested in me. I ended up going on dates with a few guys I met that night but then SO managed to track me down a few weeks later through my aunt (he knew her from some work he had done with her) and the rest is history I guess.

How are you feeling?: I think I may have hit the second trimester greatness! I was able to chase ds all day, work out for an hour, go for a family walk, and stay up for the super bowl!
Rants/Raves: my rave would be how well I feel ... hopefully it’s not a one day thing. Also, I’m really excited to have seen a healthy baby at our anatomy scan. I went into it not even thinking about the sex of the baby because I was terrified something would be wrong.
GTKY: How did you meet your H? We met in high school. He was kind of a class clown and I was shy. He brings me out of my shell.

My rave is thanks to being inspired by @mama_bear19 @babyginjuly last week I have been consistently working out and am happy to say I have the workout sores today!
Rant: I live in NJ and commute to work in NYC (we recently left NY) my commute is two hours each way and not fun. What makes it really not fun is, ever since I started showing I feel like people on the subway purposefully will shove me or smack my bump with their large bag. People stare at my stomach, but refuse to give up their seat (and I'm a petite girl who showed early so it is quite obvious I'm pregnant) and I'm talking packed like sardines kind of train ride. Friday was so bad I cried my whole walk through Port Authority to my bus and half of my bus ride home. So yea not excited to be back here today.
Questions: How is everyone dealing with being overly emotional? I'm already an emotional Cancer to begin with and pregnancy is just pushing me over the edge.
GTKY: How did you meet your H? I met him when I was 13 at a birthday party my mother forced me to go to - thanks Ma.

Okay. Started getting nauseous last night. Not sure if it’s because hubby made burgers and I don’t eat a lot of red meat, or maybe the salsa I ate after. I still feel kind of unsettled this morning. I hope I’m not getting actually sick, as this is the first week where I am happy with the number of clients I have on my schedule, and I actually feel more optimistic about finances if I keep this up! (Side note, I just graduated in May, and started a contract position where I get paid by appointment. It has been a process building up a case load!).

GTKY: How did you meet your H?
We met in undergrad when he was 18 and I was 19. We were both dating other people at the time, so we were just really good friends since we were in the same major and spent a lot of time together. He broke up with his girlfriend, and a few months later I broke up with my boyfriend. We gave it a try, ended up getting married at 22/23 and now we’re expecting our first baby at 29/30.

How are you feeling?: I have slept like complete crap the last two nights, and it's leaving me dragging. I bought some Unisom this morning, as that was the only way I could sleep my previous two pregnancies after a certain point in time. I'm also starting to get more frequent back pain from lifting things.
Rants/Raves: Still have this crap taste in my mouth after eating certain foods.
GTKY: How did you meet your H? We meet in Jr. High when we were 13. However, we didn't start dating until we were in our late 20's. We had always had mutual friends since we met.

How are you feeling? Great now! Baby looked good on the scan and I’m thrilled to be having a boy, we’ll have one of each!
Rants/Raves: I was a little annoyed at my scan today, the tech asked my due date and I said the 2nd and she said based on the scan she had it was the 7th. Which is true, based on LMP it was the 1st then I had an early scan that said the 7th then my NT scan they said the 2nd and my midwife told me to go with that. So the tech said she was going to go with the 7th so I’m honestly just confused as to when I’m actually due!
Questions: any recommendations that help with sciatic pain?

We met through friends. My best friend from childhood had been dating his neighbour for a couple of years when we finally met at my friends boyfriend (now husbands) birthday outing.

How are you feeling?: Hungry, ragey, crying, scared, more energy the last few days and less desperation for a nap, fat, horny. I think that covers all of it
Rants/Raves: Rave - we are basically moving into our new house this week! My drive to school this morning was 2 whole minutes. It was beautiful. Rant - we are moving super fast now because of a water heater and mold issue. I cannot sleep in the old house because the water heater and mold is in the "master" bedroom.
Questions: No real questions, but +1 to the "Is that movement or gas" club. I've felt a tap or two that could be movement, some deep heaviness in my uterus and some RLP this week that I think has a little more to do with moving boxes and stuff - no one is letting me touch heavy boxes, so no worries there.

Ok, so this is a story - stay with me.
DH and I met on January 2nd 2000 because I was moving out of the apartment I had been sharing with my BFF because she had moved in with her boyfriend/fiance/baby daddy/my other BFF (whole other soap opera of a story there). She moved out while I was at work one day with no notice and I could not afford the apartment on my own. I went to the only all night diner in town where you could still smoke cigarettes (New York State, separate smoking rooms law) to have coffee, chain smoke, and meet another friend. Other friend was late. Seriously late, I was waiting over an hour by myself. A guy at the next table (big table - 7 or 8 people) said "Hey, I recognize that pentacle!" As he stared at my Wolf's Head Pentacle. I had met this dude on Halloween - he was DH's roommate. He said I should join their table while I waited for my no show friend. So I pulled my chair in next to the tall very handsome black man with his hair in dreads. I sit, and observe, because I'm shy (shut up! I am! ) and handsome man next to me (DH) grabs my pentacle necklace, looks at it and then looks at me. "Did you used to live in Gatlinburg, TN?" Yes, yes I did, about 2 years prior.
So now we get a little weird. DH and I are both from Rochester, NY. We both lived in the same area of TN at the same time and saw each other on the street nearly every day - never meeting, never talking, just a passing "damn they're hot" random thought. We both ended up back in NYS at the same time. We had MANY mutual friends and acquaintances. We were often in the same diner/restaurant just minutes or hours apart, but for whatever reason fate/the Universe whatever kept us apart until 1/2/2000. After we FINALLY met... well, I moved in with him less than a month later officially. I had been basically living with him already. We went on a road trip through the south east 10 days after we met. We have been together since that day. We got married on my birthday in 2006. Our oldest son was born a year later.
DH was everything I said wasn't my type. He's an ex-con, black, smokes pot, had a kid when we met. I always assumed that such diverse paths (Straight laced, somewhat sheltered, catholic school going, white girl) meant that you could not form a real connections. Not true. DH and I connected almost immediately. I firmly believe that he is my soul mate. He is the person I am meant to spend my life with, and we will continue to find each other in the next life as we have in past lives. That doesn't mean it has been sunshine and roses and rainbows the whole time because it has not. We have fought, we have nearly broken up or divorced (words never said, but feeling was there on both sides) a few times. But we always come back together and work it out.
Sorry, I get mushy and excited about this story. I'm sitting here with heart eyes wishing I was not at school and could go home and just kiss/jump my DH.

How are you feeling?: I actually felt good enough to DTD with DH... that’s HUGE, since I’ve been feeling like shit for the past 12 weeks.
Rants/Raves: rant: work is a bitch, DH wants me to not come back after maternity leave. I got a final “write up” for being “difficult to work with” yet no one has come up and asked me my side of the story. So DH is livid, and we make enough to where I don’t need to work, but it’s all student loan money so I feel like I should work. I’m conflicted. I just have to keep my head down for the next 5 months and then peace the eff outta here!
GTKY: How did you meet your H?
DH and I met through good old match! Funny thing is that we both joined the same day, we were both the first people we sent messages to, and we were both the only dates we went on through Match. DH paid for a 6 month subscription, but he only needed 1 to meet me.
Edited to say 5 years, not 3.5... apparently I forgot that we dated before we got married. Haha! Hello pregnancy brain.

How are you feeling?: Hungry! And my hips are pretty sore by the end of the day (too much sitting at my desk job). Otherwise, I'm feeling quite good.
Rants/Raves: Rave: I finally moved into my maternity jeans/leggings and I'm so happy. My belly isn't very large yet so the panels do slip down throughout the day but I'd rather deal with that than feel like my gut is being strangled.

We ended up properly meeting in a mixed gr 11/12 drama class and worked on a couple plays together. We started dating the summer after he graduated (the poor guy was stuck coming back to high school almost daily for a whole other year

How are you feeling?: im actually feeling better but still soo tired.
Rants/Raves: I'm just so tired and no matter what I do I can't shake it. All my bloodwork including iron levels look great so I'm just waiting it out.

GTKY: How did you meet your H? We met 3 days after I started my first job at a local grocery store. We went to different high schools and he was a year ahead of me. I was a junior, he was a senior. He came through my line and I remember going home and telling my mom about this really cute guy that came in. He started coming in every Sunday even if it was just to buy a pack of gum. After about 3 months of this he finally asked me for my number. Been together every since. Crazy to think this was 14.5yrs ago.

@Panaceia I'm just now able to really distinguish movement and gas/digestion. Movement is still random and few and far between though.

Rants/Raves: I found out about a good secondhand maternity/kids store in one of the fancier neighborhoods in town; I found a great jogging stroller! Now I can ensure my early morning exercise habits either rub off on or totally annoy my baby.
Questions: when was the earliest you took your baby on a plane? We got a wedding invitation for August 17...she will not be that old, so I’m thinking I shouldn’t go. I will ask my doctor, obvs, but would also like to know your thoughts.

We met on vacation (on Valentine’s Day, no less). Seven months later, we were married!
I am also extra emotional lately and crying a lot. It’s all rationally sad but not AS sad as my crying would make you think. I’m sort of owning it and crying. Feels good.

GTKY: How did you meet your H? We ended up in the same close group of friends who all lived in the same dorm on the same floor in college. I met him about one week into freshman year. Some of the girls talked me into watching a scary movie (I'm not good with those!). He found out and thought it would be hilarious to bang on the door really loudly to scare us... It worked! We didn't date until a few years after we graduated, and then we found ourselves in a long distance relationship until we got married a couple years ago. He is definitely my best friend.

We went to school together from middle school on.... we were both in serious relationships all throughout high school and then once we were both 21 ran into each other with mutual friends at a bar... I told him I didn’t know how to shoot pool so needed his help, I also stole his hat that night. He came over to my parents house a few nights later and saw my parents pool table in the basement 😂

How are you feeling?: FINALLY feeling like a human again. Still taking meds for the nausea but I have a huge appetite. I guess making up for not wanting to eat for 10 weeks.
Rants/Raves: rant: we were at the office for our anatomy scan yesterday and 5 minutes before our time the dr came out and said to the receptionist to cancel the rest of the appointments because he had to go deliver a baby. Obviously you can’t control when a baby is born but he wasn’t rushing to get there and still refused to see us. Just really poor bedside manner about the situation. Luckily they were able to get us into an imaging center for the scan. I would have been so sad if we didn’t get it yesterday. Rave: finally feeling better!

we met when we worked together in the same classroom. I actually hated him the whole first year. He wasn’t too fond of me either. But the following year, I don’t know what happened but we started to tolerate each other. His nephew was born and used that to get me to go out with him to buy baby clothes. 4 1/2 years later we are married and expecting our first!

How are you feeling?: mostly tired, food aversion is back and with a vengeance. My ob wants to talk about changing my nausea medication next week to help me eat.
Rants/Raves: I keep losing weight. And while I have plenty to spare(plus size momma here) I’m nervous it could negatively impact my baby. I’ve gone through this every pregnancy, but this ones been the worst as far as losing more than I’m putting on. Hopefully once we get my food aversion under control I’ll be able to ease some of my anxiety over it.
DH and I put a bid in on a house! Hopefully our offer is accepted and we can move in before lo#4 arrives.
questions: for those with food aversion, how do you maintain weight? I’ve been eating smaller meals and snacking mostly, along with taking medication, but it’s no longer helping. I plan on discussing with my ob next week but I’d like to approach her with a new game plan or some new ideas at least.

How did you meet your H?
We we met in high school and were best friends. We didn’t date until right before we parted ways for college. We spent the first two years of our relationship long distance and it really helped us to strengthen our relationship. We’re celebrating 4 years of marriage soon along with 9years of being together.

GTKY: How did you meet your H? I met him at a bar. It was finals week and I did not want to go out. But my friend dragged me out because she really wanted to hook up with some guy. I had just gotten out of a two year relationship. She saw DH and they apparently went to high school together. We were at a bar notorious for being picked up by sketchy guys and I was done. She asked me if I thought anyone was cute and I said DH was, however, I had no intention of starting anything. Of course he came right downstairs from playing pool, told a random guy hitting on me that he was my boyfriend and then started buying me drinks (which I do not condone or recommend-lol). He ended the night with the emotional line of "Where are you sleeping tonight?", to which I was able to resist (who knows how, right?). Even despite that, I gave him my phone number. He called me a few days later and referred to me by the wrong name-close but incorrect. He asked me to dinner and I decided to go, but was a bit freaked out because I did not remember at all what he looked like and I was hoping he was not a serial killer. I debated on just not going, but decided to and hear we are. I can talk about the first date, but that is for another time. But again, that might even be a better story than the meeting one.

GTKY: How did you meet your H? In the library in college.
Not to mention the wedding itself. I took my 5 week old to my SIL (DH sister) wedding (babysitter fell through last minute) here in town. I tried to keep her in her carrier and covered but EVERYONE wanted to come say hi to the baby. I mean, I was surrounded by 100 family members all night. Everytime I went to change her diaper, everyone would come up in the bathroom and coo at her and try to touch her. "Can I hold her for a second?" all night long. Of course they asked, who can resist a baby? I played defense as much as I could but it just wasnt very fun playing gatekeeper all night. DH and I wound up leaving early. I am ultimately glad we went; my daughter got to meet her ailing great grandma for the first and only time before she passed away a few weeks later. That alone was worth it, but overall the experience was stressful. It was December and flu season and I was so anxious!
Fast forward 6 weeks later and we were on a plane to Mexico and it was fine. She has been on a plane nearly every other month since.

GTKY : we met online. Not like a dating site but a message board like the Bump but for law students. We emailed for a year, never intending to actually meet. It was more like a penpal thing, we had so much in common. Not thinking we would ever meet, we were pretty open about everything. It was nice to have this "friend" to tell everything without judgment or fear of consequence. I visited Chicago for fun, where he lived, and that message board had a big meetup while I was there. We met in person and unexpectedly hit it off romantically. I returned to Chicago to see him two weeks later and we have been together ever since, almost a decade now.
