@char245 I feel like finding a good OB that you really love is so hard. I went through 2 before finding the one I have in this area. I couldn't imagine going to someone else.
I am in the process of looking for a new OB. I did not like how mine handled my loss and I feel they are not thorough enough. I do, however, drive by the office every day on the way to work and it reminds me of my loss every single day. It's tough.
I won't change my OB either, but I can't handle being in his office right now. I called and asked them to e-mail me my sick note for missing work after my D&E. I couldn't handle being in a waiting room full of pregnancy women right now. Sorry for the rough day @emeraldcity603
Oh wow @emeraldcity603, congratulations? I think? Its beautiful, no doubt about that! We're nature/wilderness people, so I would love to visit. Maybe YH should take a trip up now to see what he thinks during winter...
@ruby696 he grew up in Alaska. So he is well acquainted. We won't be anywhere that gets below 0 in the winter. So I'm not too worried. It would have been a hard no for me it we had to go somewhere like that. The temperatures we had in NE were way worse than anything we will see in the area we will be moving.
We are definitely excited. With everything we have had going on the last month and a half, we feel like a fresh start is what we need. Plus, we will be semi close to his family. They live further north in Alaska.
Well then definitely congratulations! Awesome that he grew up there and you get to be closer to family. I'm in CA, so that sounds like a huge move to me, but I'm always a little jealous of people who do it. I would move north (not that north, but Montana, Wyoming, upstate NY) in a heartbeat if I didn't have to take the bar exam somewhere else. Lol!
We have moved across the country twice since we have been married. We had to move for his residency and when he got a job after residency. So we have made some big moves but I think this will be our biggest. We live in Southern TX right now so it will be a big adjustment.
@emeraldcity603 That is very exciting! We moved around a lot as a kid so I think moving is kind of fun but I do hate packing lol. Hope it’s a great move if he takes it!
@char245 I think we are going to get rid of over half our stuff when we move. We literally won't be taking anything that isn't needed. So I may take every room and just purge everything that I can.
@emeraldcity603 that’s exciting! That will be big adjustment. When I moved from AZ to MI, I spent my summers in long sleeves and pants and my family thought I was nuts. I left 120 temp to 80 , so I was chilly lol.
@Mack2342 yes! The temperatures will be opposite. In TX it's summer for 6 months and a then it's a cross between spring and fall for the other 6 months. I'm sure we will be in long sleeves and pants this summer too.
Apparently, there is a very nice indoor water park that you can go to so we will stick be able to have fun in the water and we won't have to worry about sunscreen while we are there.
@ruby696 I have been looking at houses nonstop. We plan to rent at first so we can take our time looking before we buy. We didn't do that when we moved here and we wish we had.
Relocating sounds like a mighty fine idea about now! This is no joke, i'm in SW Wisconsin. Polar vortex, but you know, when you say you're not going to test early and AF is due Wednesday....I certainly won't be running anywhere to buy a test because I changed my mind.
@rowedking6 that is mighty cold! We are in the polar vortex but not nearly as cold as you will be. The last time we had one, my work closed for two days bc it was too cold for peeps to be out. Stay warm lady!
And my mind can't tolerate thoughts of homeless animals... yes I know humans should be my first thought. But i'm totally wired to care about animals! Oh, except my mail carrier.... she's so wonderful, i'm thinking about holding her hostage in my home tomorrow! My husband works for Lands End, and they haven't shut down since the 80's... per my mother who has worked there since I was toddler lol They and everyone else in the state of Wisconsin are closed tomorrow! Shelves at Walmart are bare, it's just crazy! Ok, so to add to the snowmageddon saga, by the weekend it'll be in the 30's.... we're looking at a 70° temp swing by Friday Haha. So as if cabin fever isn't enough, I pray AF keeps away from me!!!
@rowedking6 Good luck keeping warm! We hit -35 (celcius) with the wind chill last week, plus over a foot of snow. It's too cold for humans and animals! We leave food out for the deer near us, because they can't find any and wander out of the woods. We had one eating from the bird feeder the other day
@bakerstreetboys, thank you for being kind to the creatures... now i'm feeling bad for not doing bird feeders. I did make some snow ice cream earlier in the week with all of that snow lol a lot of people had power outages yesterday and my mom had one this morning. Can you imagine having to be the one to fix it? I just want this day to be over, I feel crampy and I just do not want AF to come. Cabin fever has me wanting to throw a temper tantrum.
@rowedking6 We're all entitled to a temper tantrum every once in a while We had tornadoes in our area a few months ago, and we lost power for four days. The city was a disaster! Snow ice cream sounds like a great idea!
