People at work that complain about how busy they are and I know their workload - I also know my workload is way more than theirs. And I know they make more than me when we are both at the same level in management.
@nitnat007 YES!!! What is going on?! My only guess is that September is a busy month for births so statistically, there is potential for more drive-by's. It will calm down in a few months.

@lulu1180 I really wish there was a way to force people to lurk before jumping in. Especially starting their own AW posts. But that would be too "unwelcoming" *eye roll* @rikiteacup I really hope that that is right and it quietens down. If we have months of days like this ahead then we may need our sanity checked! Or our liquor consumption.
@holly321 I just bought a bottle of my everyday gin (Gordon's), plus I have 2/3 bottle of good gin from a new distillery in my are, plus I got 3 bottles of different gins for Christmas. Party at my house...?

@lulu1180@holly321 can you recommend any good gin drinks? It's the only alcohol I can't really stand and I really want to! (gin and tonic is a no go)
My BF is my coworkers. One can't pull herself together when she's in the office- I feel like I’m babysitting a child. She’s 42. I'm thinking of making a bingo card for her "goes home at lunch, cries at her desk, works from home, takes PTO for something ridiculous (last week = took her pinball machine to another city to be fixed)"
One is WFH again today. I really couldn't tell you the last time I saw her, probably 2 weeks ago? We talked as a team last week about it (aka I b*tched to my manager finally after months of simmering rage) and decided we'll make a WFH schedule and stick to it, and inform the entire group if we're going to WFH outside of our regularly scheduled day. Our manager asked for a volunteer to track, and you better believe I volunteered. Wellllll little do they know, we haven’t made our official “schedule” yet but I have already started taking "attendance" because I feel like it's the true representation of what it has been like around here. I don't even care that it's dramatic. It's the only thing making me feel better while I quietly rage to myself. You are grown a$$ adults. COME TO YOUR JOB.

@lulu1180 , I will be right there. I have never tried Gordon’s, last time I was buying Gin, the man at the liquor store recommended it. I don’t really have any gin I love right now (I drank it all) I have tangueray rangpur, which I don’t see why everyone loves it. I am forcing myself to finish it before I buy more.
@b_1029, I love a gin and tonic, but occasionally I want something a bit sweeter, so I add a bit of pineapple juice. A London mojito is probably a good drink for a non gin lover. I think the gin type itself may make a huge difference too. Maybe try something like Hendrick’s, which doesn’t taste as ginny?
@holly321 That's one of the ones I got for Christmas...DH got it for me. It's good in a gin and tonic but I'm not sure it would work well in much else....maybe a Tom Collins...? As for Gordon's, it's a really good everyday gin and it's really inexpensive especially compared to Tanqueray or one of the other bigger brands
@b_1029 I use a cocktail app to find drinks that I think may interest me. I've been using one called Cocktail Flow and I really like it! I will admit that G&Ts are an acquired taste. The tonic water has a very unique taste thanks to the quinine. I would recommend either a Tom Collins or maybe a gin daisy depending on what you like.

All this gin talk is making me thirsty. I went to a place called "Gin Palace" in NYC and they were 20 dollar drinks that I'm pretty sure where just straight liquor. When we left it was still in the middle of the day and I'm pretty sure I hissed at the sun lol.
@b_1029 - I'm just flabbergasted at that one person WFH every single day last week. Like really?? I wish we got that option, and with my job, I really could WFH.
@brookert615, this isn’t related, but it reminds me of what happened last week. Dh and I had friends over for poker, last time we had friends over for drinks, I got trashed, and regretted it, so I self cut off at 3. I asked a drunk dh to get me water, and he poured a ton of gin in my water to be fun, and somehow I didn’t noticed. In his defense, he wasn’t trying to get me drunker, how can you not tell you are drinking gin? I kept telling him he drugged me.
@marebear15 right?!! I technically COULD WFH every day, but would feel guilty doing so unless I were deathly ill / contagious. Her excuse today is "headache". And I'm not sure about Thursday because that's my normal WFH day, but let's be real, she wasn't there haha
@lulu1180 wellll that app sounds awesome and how I'm going to deal with my next post-TWW blues. Thanks for the recommendations! (@holly321 thank you also!)
@marebear15 I once had a coworker who emailed myself and our boss that he'd be working from home that day, a Monday (as well as the next 2 days we find out because he'd only let you know day of). I later noticed that his laptop WAS STILL AT HIS DESK. Our job is primarily answering customer calls and emails since we're part tech support part other things so his "working from home" was BY HIS WORK CELL PHONE. And the calls we got were to a workgroup number so he wouldn't actually receive the customer calls to his cell phone.
Omg I HATED that guy. He used to job search while at work. Like what are you doing dude???
Thank God he left about 2 months after that incident which was March of last year. He's already working at another employer so he didn't work there for very long. I think he was there for... Maybe 5 months?
I could go on all day about how horrible of an employee he was.
