Re: PAIF Graduates New Mommies - December 2018

  • @wabash15  waves, how are you doing? How's your daughter? It has been an amazing experience! They are walking, starting to talk and to understand social behaviors.

Every time they hit a new stage I say, "This is my fav stage" (rolls eyes at self). I've also turned into "that" parent. You know the one, the annoying one.

Yus, getting sleep is amazing. I remember the first night I actually slept most of the night I felt like a new person. Anne's generally 'okay' with sleep once she actually falls asleep; it's the getting her to go to sleep that's starting to become difficult. But as everyone is reminding me, it's a non-problem if she just wants to hang out in her crib from 8 pm to 10 pm >. >

  • @stella_700 - we have our consult next week for baby two and wanted to get start around May. Figured the consult, then all the testing (and having to have the IUD out but my OB says it can be done right before - little nervous about that though) would take us to spring. I had to get my request for consult in back in October!! Takes to long here!

  • I know that there is a January thread now...
@persnickity 8-10 times in a 10-hour span?! Was your daughter teething? That’s a lot and hopefully my son won’t do that as we are trying to wean him around the age of 13-14 months...
@stella_700 The cost of daycare is no joke. One of the babies in my son’s daycare class has three older siblings in the same daycare and I swear the parents must be spending $8000 a month in daycare.  We are doing eSET so the likelihood of twins is low, but if that embryo splits, we are going to be tight financially! No more fancy dinners (not that we do that anymore)!
As for when to contact RE for #2, sooner the better, I think. I originally was thinking about FET in May/June and I called the clinic two weeks ago just to ask them what I can do to prepare in the meantime. I’m glad I called as I didn’t know my clinic had a policy to not start any treatment until you were fully weaned for three months, and they don’t do FET until at least 18 months after the last pregnancy, especially after a c-section birth. So looks like I will be transferring this fall.
    Me: 41  DH: 46
Unexplained infertility/AMA, polycystic ovaries, insulin resistance
    FET#1(July 2017): eSET of first of 4 PGS-normal embryos, DS born 3/30/2018
    FET#2(Oct/Nov 2019): eSET
  • @cashewchicken it was insane! She had never nursed that much. It went on for 2 months. I'm not sure if it was teething or just trying to use it to put herself to sleep or what. When I stopped letting her do that, I didn't have any supply issues, so she couldn't have been actually getting much out.
