@deecherise so awesome! I love my doppler. I bought It to try to fight anxiety last time and knew it could go either way....but it made me feel SO much better. One of my best unnecessary pregnancy purchases!
@aevan011 that's why I bought mine too! It definitely helps, but now the struggle is not to check too often!
@moon1417 that sucks! At least you're still able to go. They predicted a snowstorm here too, and my parents cancelled coming up to help with the nursery. Nothing happened 😑
I feel bad about complaining about the in laws because they made up for it. They have offered to book a villa in southern Italy in October or November and fly all of us there so we can hang out together as a family. They also offered to pay the €750 cost for the midwife. 😭😭😭 I think they realized the error of their ways. We were shocked to say the least and I am so grateful to them.
Sometimes (actually fairly frequently), I hate other scientists. They do a lot of illogical crap that is irritating in the context of basic rationality. For instance, tonight I'm working late and I needed to take a picture of a gel. The photo paper ran out before I could get a good picture, and it's dyed like receipt paper, so whoever used it last knew it was low.
Is the replacement roll kept in the area next to the printer? No, it's in an entirely different lab, 3 rooms down according to the note on the printer. I spend 10 minutes looking through the stock areas of this lab, only to come up empty-handed. The replacement photo paper isn't even kept near the normal printer paper, because that would make too much sense.
I just want to be home with hot chocolate, snuggling with my pup and watching the snow fall. But I'm here in science purgatory, scrambling to make something of myself. End rant.
@deecherise you should definitely go on a vacation! I wish I'd done that before my son was born.
@moon1417 noooo I'm so sorry your flight was delayed. Stupid weather!
My life is really not very interesting. My most interesting random from today was when I told my kid to "Stop playing with the toilet brush and go back to playing with the toilet paper!" and then I could not believe that had come out of my mouth. DS has to come in the bathroom with me or he screams his head off, but he also destroys the bathroom so I've got to come up with a better solution
When does everyone consider second trimester to begin? I had always thought it starts at 14 weeks, but both my high risk doctor and regular OB said it starts at 13 weeks. They said it was based on development and not time. I know this is a debated topic, so what do you ladies think/ what have your doctors said?
