  • @xtinecatherine I'm almost 40 and was the same about finding put my NIPT results. I was terrified something was going to be wrong. Congratulations on the great results and the baby boy:) Once you know that someone knows the sex I don't know how anyone can have the willpower to not find out!

  • @Panaceia congrats to you as well!  It is such a relief to know.  I was super nervous when I saw the message this morning and I know you were waiting longer than expected for your results.  When the genetic counselor was showing me ratios like 1:28 chance of certain genetic disorders, I was silently freaking out.  I could not resist finding out and I just went online and bought a bunch of new baby clothes that were on clearance at Carters.  Oops!  As for movement, I started feeling it right about now.  I swore I have felt a few twinges here and there, but have not in a bit.  I remember it being really sporadic and definitely picked up around 16 weeks for sure. I have been so used to having ultrasounds at every appointment, it is going to be weird not to have one this next time.  I have really liked checking in on the baby.
  • Thanks @xtinecatherine and @mrscammack . I have definitely been feeling something the last couple of days but because I didn't feel any movement for so long with DD I keep telling myself there's no way it can be baby already. But it's definitely not gas...so maybe?
  • @xtinecatherine As a way to try to get DD more involved I took her to Carter's a few days ago too. She has a doll that wears nb clothing so I told her she could pick out a few outfits if she promised to share them with a real baby if we bring one home this summer. So we did some baby clothes shopping here too. It was a 70% off sale so I don't feel too bad about it:)
  • Est Due Date / Weeks + Days: 13w!!!!!!!!

Baby is the size of a(n): a lemon

Upcoming Appointments: none till end of the month.

How are you feeling?: sicker than I have the previous 13 weeks.

Rants/Raves:  Telling my boys today and posting on social media, so excited! And I got my hair cut today - dead split ends and breakage, it looks so much better now :)

Questions: no, but I have also had a little poke or 2 that fluttered and didn't feel like gas bubbles...

GTKY: What are your goals for 2019?   Get organized, fix credit, buy some land/house.
  • @indulgentgypsy I got so much sicker around 13 weeks too. Hopefully the hair cut helped to make you feel a bit better!
  • Est Due Date / Weeks + Days:
    7/8 / 13 weeks

Baby is the size of a(n):
    Lemon

    Upcoming Appointments:
January 16th, elective gender determination ultrasound. January 22nd 16 week checkup.

    How are you feeling?:
Okay. Nausea comes and goes. I’ve been exhausted lately...

    Rants/Raves:
NT Scan last week was normal. However, waiting on the blood test for the full results. They’re in, according to LabCorp, but doctor hasn’t released them to me yet (probably because they’re closed for New Years).

    Questions:
    Not right now.

GTKY: What are your goals for 2019?
I want to do as much as I can at work without dying so that we can save for Baby. I get paid based off of what I actually do, so I am hoping to build my caseload.
  • Congrats to all you with healthy babies! I’m so jealous you know the gender already!!

    Est Due Date / Weeks + Days: 7/7, 13+1

Baby is the size of a(n): lemon

    Upcoming Appointments: Jan 3rd.

How are you feeling?: Pretty darn exhausted. No New Years partying for me! Mamas gonna go to bed!

Rants/Raves:  rant: I did the Progenity test on 12/13. I was told 7-10 days for results (I assume business days.) it’s been 12 business days now and nothing. I’m so sad. I was hoping to tell family at Christmas the gender of the baby... :( I even called the office, and they were closed today. I just wanna know what my baby is!

    Questions: Nothing right now.

GTKY: What are your goals for 2019?
I would love to get the house more organized. We need to finish our basement before baby #2 gets here so we can have a guest room, so it looks like that will be our major goal!

@Panaceia that is a great idea.  I bet your daughter loved that.  I am sure she is going to be over the moon the her little sister comes. My older daughter cried when I told her I was pregnant, but I put her in charge of decorating the room as she loves interior design.  So she has gotten really excited about that and was talking about names.  She is now even more excited that it is a boy.  My younger daughter has been picking out clothing, but has only been looking at girl's clothes, so she has to change her gears a bit.  I think a trip to a baby store would be really fun for them.  However, I worry about the money they would actually want me to spend. With such a large age difference between my kids, I see each one of the older siblings trying to buy him everything under the sun.  Not to mention that my youngest has his sports career all mapped out and basically freaked out when I suggested putting him in gymnastics.  So in this case, I think I am going to have about four other parents on board. lol

@jenniferjoy37 I feel like there is no norm for these tests.  I took mine on 12/21, but the sample for my one test arrived at the testing place at 12/27 and then my second one arrived 12/28.  I just received the results from the 12/27 one today.  The second one I feel like has much more of a room for some kind of positive, as it is testing me to see if I am a carrier of basically like 175 different disorders and I feel like the chances of carrying one is probably fairly high, but the genetic counselor said that 40 percent of people do not carry any, so we will see.  I hope it goes well as I am not in the mood to throw down another $250 for DH to take the test and see if he shares anything that I carry.  At the end of the day, I did it more so my own kids could know what their potential risks are for their children or themselves, but the waiting is really stressful.
  • Est Due Date / Weeks + Days: 13 weeks today!!

Baby is the size of a(n): Lemon

Upcoming Appointments: Just had one this past Friday 🙂

How are you feeling?:  Tired and constipated but not as nauseous! Win!

Rants/Raves:  I had a week off for holiday break and I’ve been sick the whole time and ended up with a damn cold sore! Also annoyed that my NIPT results aren’t in yet, like @jenniferjoy37 - I got my blood taken on the 21st and she said 7-10 business days but told me the holidays would probably screw that up a bit. Damn it!!

Questions: What are you all going for NYE? I’m in jammies eating Chinese food! I’m so cool! Lol

GTKY: What are your goals for 2019?  Go back to therapy, stress less, do more for myself.
  • @literatureandink I had to wait 17 days for my NIPT results because of the holidays:/ I'm sure you'll have them by the end of the week:)
  • @literatureandink Damn holidays screwing with our testing! Hahaha. We’ll get the results soon!

@xtinecatherine I feel like you got your test back fast! Dang! I remember doing that test my first go around too... I didn’t have any markers, so DH did not need to get tested.
  • Est Due Date / Weeks + Days:  13w 5d

Baby is the size of a(n):  lemon

    Upcoming Appointments: this coming Friday

How are you feeling?: I was feeling better but now I'm starting to feel nauseous again. I spent the last week or so getting over a pretty nasty cold. I'm like 90% better now but can't tell is what I'm feeling is leftover cold symptoms or what.

Rants/Raves:  I have an at home doppler and I love it. It really helps my anxiety after PGAL.  I'm also waiting for the results from my NIPT test results.  It's so frustrating. I just want to know my baby is healthy!

Questions: I was going to ask if anyone else was feeling better symptom wise then started feeling lousy again but it looks like a couple of you have.

GTKY: What are your goals for 2019?   I need to get my anxiety in check and make my mental and physical health a priority.  Our next big and more immediate goals are to get a new car and either move into a new house or expand on our current house. We need more room!
  • Do you guys really think it could be baby kicks this early? I assumed I wouldn’t feel anything until like 17 weeks. But I’ve also felt some small pops here and there....

@Tippy05, yep! Definitely. Which is almost MORE annoying.

    AFM:
    Est Due Date / Weeks + Days: 7/5, 13+ 3

Baby is the size of a(n): lemon and other things that are different sizes than a lemon.

Upcoming Appointments: Jan 16 and waiting for my NIPT redo.

How are you feeling?: Better overall but the lows are low. I’ve had a raging headache for days and it won’t let up.

    Rants/Raves:  None.

    Questions: None.

GTKY: What are your goals for 2019?   Have a healthy baby and a healthy pregnancy. And de clutter my house. SO MUCH STUFF.
  • @Happyin14 I read that with subsequent pregnancies that some people will start to feel movement by 13 weeks. I'm still not convinced what I'm feeling is baby (PGAL keeps telling me I'm getting my hopes up for nothing) but it's definitely not gas:)
  • @Tippy05 I’m right there with you on needing to prioritize getting the anxiety and general mental health in check. Let me know if you ever want to chat. 😊
  • @Tippy05 and @literatureandink no generalized anxiety, but scary PPD. Was talking to DH last night about getting on meds before or immediately after birth because I don't want to go through what I did before with my son. It took me 3 years to feel "normal " and for those 3 years I had no connection to DH - literally no sex for 3 years due to my mental health!
  • @indulgentgypsy That’s a good idea to have a plan in place - Have you talked to your doctor? My doctor firmly believes me being on medication is the best bet and even with meds I still have to work on it.
  • @indulgentgypsy I agree that you having a plan in place before it happens is a great idea. It’s always nice to have a back-up plan, and hopefully you won’t have to use it! ❤️
  • Est Due Date / Weeks + Days: 7/5 13w5d

    Upcoming Appointments: Not until 1/11

How are you feeling?: The nausea is finally passing.

GTKY: What are your goals for 2019? Clear out the clutter and buy a new house.
  • @indulgentgypsy My OB and I talked about putting me back on the PPA medication even before baby gets here since it can take a few weeks to kick in. I’m so glad that you are taking steps for your mental health! That’s super important.
  • I got my full NT Scan/Bloodwork results back. Came back “negative” for Down Syndrome and Trisomy 18. It was like <1 in 10,000 for DS and 1 in 7,700 for Trisomy 18. Feeling a little more relieved now. I guess there’s another one at 16 weeks though for Spina Bifida and other neural tube defects.
  • Est Due Date / Weeks + Days:

    7/7

Baby is the size of a(n):

    Jalepeno pepper

    Upcoming Appointments:

    None this week

    How are you feeling?:

Pretty good. My regular seasonal depression is setting in after the holidays. I appreciate that several of you are sharing you stories in regards to mental health. It's important that we take of that part of ourselves too.
I think my seasonal depression is setting in faster because of all of the conversation happening to me and around me where I keep hearing "you can't" and "you shouldn't". It does weigh on me. I'm trying to figure out how to communicate this to my husband.

    Rants/Raves:

My very caring and very Indian MIL (who does live with us) is starting to push a little too far for my currently vulnerable emotional state. I think she would prefer it if I stayed in bed from now until birth. She's coming from a place of love, but it's a lot right now, and I really just want to stick to what my doctor says.

    Questions:

    Nothing this week

GTKY: What are your goals for 2019?

Keep this healthy and moving forward. Find my positivity again.
  • @rgn12 Yay for great NIPT results!!!

@keebler6elf Sorry you're struggling. I'm living with my parents while SO is working in a different city and our house is being built (we've been here for a few years already and have another probably 2 years to go). I love my mom but she drives me insane. She has this way of passive aggressively criticizing everything that DD or I do. And I can't say anything about it because she's helping us out so much. Once the new LO is here and I'm home from work for 18 months I don't know how I'm going to cope.

@Panaceia I'm sorry that you are also having that kind of added stress!

My husband travels Monday through Thursday almost every week, and I work remotely mostly of the time, so MIL has a lot of the to check up on me. She just evaluated my lunch quantity ("only this much?")... I told her I was going to start doing a prenatal yoga routine every day (she is normally all about the yoga and the breathing), but she told me the best thing is to be still as much as possible. I don't want my husband to have to be a negotiator, but I think I need a little help or I'm going to lose it!
  • Est Due Date / Weeks + Days: 7/2—14+1

Baby is the size of a(n): peach

Upcoming Appointments: not till the 22nd to start my progesterone shots.

How are you feeling?: just tired but less than the weeks before. Wanting fruits so yay finally food!

Rants/Raves:  can my kid go back to school already sheesh!

Questions: any stm+ do the McKeena shots and make it to term? My first came at 36w but I went into preterm labor at 20w and again at 27w so I’m high risk for this second one and start the shots soon. Looking for info from moms who have done this and what it was like.

GTKY: What are your goals for 2019? Garage sale next weekend to get rid of all this junk! Short term goals for me till my daughter gets back into school and I can think again 🙃
