Re: Group 3 (August 15th-23rd) Checkin: w/o 12/23

  • EST Due Date: 8/23/19 (5+2)

Baby is the size of an apple seed/peppercorn

Upcoming appointments: 1/17/19 for my first nurse visit. I've already had a nurse visit, but I just changed healthcare insurance so they want to do it over again when I'm 8 weeks and do some blood work.

How am I feeling?: I'm exhausted. It's so difficult to not tell anyone or explain why I'm doing things differently. For example, today is my 25th birthday. Last night we went to a Brazilian restaurant and I'm normally one to always get my steak medium rare. I love bloody red meat. Last night I had to order cooked through meat (I draw the line at medium well) Lol. I pee a lot. Breasts are sore. Other than that, not much in the way of nausea. Is anyone else also super gassy and having body aches? Mostly my neck that's sore.

Rants/raves: Not being able to eat things I usually do and not being able to tell people why. Oh well. I'm (hopefully) getting a baby out of it.

Questions: Does anyone else feel like they are sprinting in place? I feel like I have so much to do, but I also feel like there's absolutely nothing I can do.

GTKY: My fiancé and I are telling his parents and brother at Christmas. This is our first and it will be his parents' first grandchild. We really wanted to try to wait until at least 10 weeks, but we honestly couldn't think of anything better than Christmas to announce it. We're wrapping up a onsie that says "Coming soon..." for them to open.

Baby is the size of a(n): lavender bud

Upcoming Appointments: 1/16, I have my first u/s and meet my new OB

    How are you feeling?:
Hungover. (I'm not...) We went to a Solstice bonfire last night and my husband got drunk. He woke up feeling great and I'm miserable and sooo nauseous.

Rants/Raves: I'm getting annoyed at DH's insistence that this baby is a girl. Yeah, we have two daughters. That doesn't mean you're firing all X's! I'd be happy with another girl, I'm just hoping it's a boy to shut him up!

    Questions: Not at the moment!

GTKY: Do you have any special announcements planned? Tell us about it! We have my extended family Christmas party today and we're announcing. Nothing major, but I filled one of my cousins in early to help announce. She has a hand lettering business, so she's making something up for me.

Upcoming Appointments: 1/10 for my dating US

How are you feeling?: so exhausted. My nauseous hits sometimes but it’s not horrible yet. I go between no appetite and ravenous and that’s tricky.

Rants/Raves: I’m so excited for Christmas with DD but it’s going to be so exhausting. My back has been hurting and I’m a littler nervous about my pinched nerve for this pregnancy.

    Questions:

GTKY: Do you have any special announcements planned? Tell us about it!
I’m going to tell my sister and parents when we go to my sisters the day after Christmas (don’t really feel like hiding MS and pretending to drink) by wearing this shirt. I thought it was perfect given that this pregnancy is a bit of a surprise.

How are you feeling?: nauseous 🤢
Rants/Raves: rant - my house needs a thorough cleaning but I don't have the energy
Questions: GTKY: Do you have any special announcements planned? Tell us about it!
We did Christmas announcements for our parents. The in-towns got an egg that had a "we're pregnant!" note inside. And the oot's got scratchers in the mail
  • Follow up... The announcement sucked. Thanks family!

  • No, @vvitchhazel what happened?

Est Due Date / Weeks + Days: 8/17

Baby is the size of a(n): sweet pea

    Upcoming Appointments: 1/3

How are you feeling?: super nauseated. I broke down this week & called for nausea meds. I'm glad I did, just hoping it doesn't continue to escalate. Last time was significantly worse. So I'm in the weird spot of being glad I'm not puking 5+ times a day despite 6 rotating nausea pills... but also worried less symptoms = bad outcome. Counting down the days until my US appointment.

Rants/Raves: Anyone else nervous about the first US? My spotting seems to be staying gone for now, but the not knowing makes me nervous. I just want to see that tiny heartbeat and breathe a sigh of relief.

    Questions: nada

GTKY: Do you have any special announcements planned? Tell us about it!
If our US goes well on 1/3 I plan to tell my mom the same day. My SIL/BFF I bought an aunt mug off etsy. I plan to tell her separately as she and my bro are having infertility struggles & I want to be respectful of their feelings. Everyone else we'll just tell as we see. Having some issues with DH's fam so they will be the last to know.
Rainbow baby Dean is due 2/17/17!
  • @WinchesterGirl add me to the anxious for the first ultrasound club. Mine is Jan 7 and it can't come soon enough. Im just concerned about this whole darn pregnancy.

Due date: 8/19 for now but probably gonna change to 8/23ish.

    Appointment is Jan 7.

Feeling: nauseous. Worried. Between my heart condition and both of my kids having heart defects I think I'll be worried this whole pregnanc. All this knoweldge has been gained after my last pregnancy so I didn't have the same concerns then. Also tired and my temper with the kids is short.

R/R: I'm so excited for Christmas. Mainly to see how happy my kids are but also because I'm announcing to my mom and I don't want to keep hiding it.

    Questions: nah

Special announcements: writing it in a Christmas card for my mom to.open after gifts tomorrow. Will mail MIL a card as well.
    DD1 5/23/14, DD2 12/5/16   Baby #3 on the way!

  • Est Due Date / Weeks + Days: 5w5d

Baby is the size of a(n): the “m” on an m&m

Upcoming Appointments: 12/26 for 2nd u/s at RE. I sympathize with all the u/s waiting anxiety—I’m so glad this RE agreed to monitor me. It’s making me way less miserable

How are you feeling?: exhausted and nauseous. They upped my progesterone (it was at 20; this doc wants it over 25) and I feel like I got hit by a truck. Also my boobs hurt and everything makes me cry. I’m hoping it’s not just

Rants/Raves: we hosted Christmas for my husband’s side Saturday and it was SO cute to see DD (3) and her 1 year old cousin really play with each other. My in laws weee a huge help and I’m sad they’re gone already. My side is coming over tomorrow and thankfully it will be low key.

    Questions:

GTKY: Do you have any special announcements planned? Tell us about it!  Eh. I’ve told most everyone who is in close contact with me because I needed them to watch DD, explain my frequent trips to the pharmacy for more prescriptions, explain why I was missing meetings at work or just wanted the moral support and thankfully they’ve all been wonderful!

@vvitchhazel what happened?! I’m sorry it didn’t go well!

@WinchesterGirl I’m glad the meds are helping—the “am I sick enough” mind games are the WORST. The whole first trimester can suck it, frankly.

    @EmilyA724 that hoodie is adorable!
  •  Est Due Date / Weeks + Days:

    Upcoming Appointments:
    January 11
    How are you feeling?:
    Happy
    Rants/Raves:
We finally told someone I am expecting and will be sharing the news with others soon I am so happy that someone knows
    Questions:
    Nope
GTKY: Do you have any special announcements planned? Tell us about it!
We just told my brother and sil we did a saran wrap ball in the middle was a pacifier with a note that said coming in August. Telling my in laws tomorrow with a gift it's a pacifier with a note that says 'the best gifts dont come under the tree merry christmas from your new grandbaby' extended family we are going to have DD wear a best sister shirt. And my family is distant so we are just telling them over facetime tonight
  • Est Due Date / Weeks + Days: 8-23/5w3d

Baby is the size of a(n): peppercorn

Upcoming Appointments: 1/21 is my first ob and us appointment...i feel like it’s soooooo far away

How are you feeling?: ok. Last week I constantly had heartburn and occasionally felt nauseous after eating and didn’t have much appetite.  This past two days haven’t had much of an appetite in the morning but I’m starving by mid-afternoon.

Rants/Raves: nothing yet, just that time seems to be going so slow since I want it to fly by right now.

Questions: How do you silence fears of a miscarriage?

    GTKY: nothing yet.
  • @sbd2018 I wouldn't say you can ever completely silence the fears, because yes bad things do happen sometimes. However, as time goes on your risk decreases. Try to focus on the positive. You are pregnant today. Today you're fine and your baby is healthy. Enjoying it or not now will not change your feelings if something bad were to happen.
Rainbow baby Dean is due 2/17/17!
  • Est Due Date / Weeks + Days: 8/19 6w 1d

Baby is the size of a(n): sweet pea

    Upcoming Appointments: 1/4

How are you feeling?: up and down. My nausea has been manageable.. if reallg just kicked in the last couple of days. We’ve been so busy with holiday stuff, I feel like that helps me keep my mind off of feeling icky.

Rants/Raves: Last night I was holding my cousin’s 5 month old baby who is teeny and my son (2yrs 9months) was sooo upset. He kept saying, “mommy carry me!! No baby!” Lol kid is in for a rude awakening.

    Questions: not really.

GTKY: We are waiting to tell family. TW we had a loss in October and It was really hard on me. My family gets SO Excitrd about pregnancies and even though I wasn’t even 12 weeks they were constantly talking about names, the gender, etc. My mom even bought us a double stroller. I love their excitement but I can’t go there with this one yet. We decided it is best to let them know once we’re in the safety zone once we feel like we can all celebrate it. I know others have different opinions on this but it’s what feels right for us. We probably won’t do anything crazy to announce once that time comes.
  • @WinchesterGirl @mwmiller4 It wasn't THAT bad, I guess. My feelings were just kind of hurt. There just wasn't any excitement. I get it, it's our third... But does make it any less of a blessing? We had our almost 3 year old pull out a sign when she was opening her gift that said, "Baby ******** #9, coming August 2019!" Crickets. 30 seconds of awkward silence while my daughter opened the rest of her gift before my cousin's husband said congratulations. (#9 because it will be the 9th baby in 5 years, between my brother, 3 cousins, and I.)

And then today we told my in-laws and it was a very... lackluster reaction as well. Whatever. Everyone just wanted to rain on my parade.
    BabyFruit Ticker
  • @WinchesterGirl yes, the anxiety is killing me.
@mwmiller4 2 u/s already! I'm jealous. My RE's office has me scheduled for my first u/s in 2 weeks. the problem is my RE works between 2 offices and this one is her secondary office she's only here on Tuesdays right now...so with the holidays I have to wait until 1/8. Are you doing PIO shots or the suppositories?

    Est Due Date / Weeks + Days: 8/22; 5-6

Baby is the size of a(n): sweet pea

Upcoming Appointments: nothing for 2 more weeks...

How are you feeling?: okay. some nausea and cramping. the cramping makes me really anxious

Rants/Raves: I feel like it is too early to be having any symptoms, but I think that is just my defense mechanisms kicking in. I have nausea when I go too long between eating and I'm definitely feeling exhausted some days.

    Questions:

GTKY: Do you have any special announcements planned? Tell us about it! Nothing really. My in-laws and sister already know bc of the IF stuff. I'm waiting to tell the rest of the family. Not sure when we will share, I'm thinking once I get released from the RE or at that point we may just wait until the 2nd tri. I do plan to tell my dad by asking him to help me restore my childhood dresser (that is at his house) but that is way down the road.

  • Est Due Date / Weeks + Days: Aug 16 - 6w5d

Baby is the size of a(n): Maine Blueberry

    Upcoming Appointments: Jan 10

How are you feeling?: Pretty good all in all. Some times feel nauseous. Sore boobs and so tired.

Rants/Raves: I got a lot of wine for Christmas because no one really knows I’m pregnant lol. Guess I’ll have a good stock for next year.

    Questions: None at the moment

GTKY: Do you have any special announcements planned? Tell us about it!
We told parents, siblings and grandparents over the holidays. My 2 year old calls my parents Gaga and Bobo (LOL) she can say grandma and grandpa but I love that those are the names she chose 😂 but we got them a onesie that said “hey Gaga & Bobo! See you in August” and it was awesome. ❤️

Hope everyone had an awesome holiday with their families.
  • @vvitchhazel I feel you. We told my dad and his response was "you know your not mormon, right?"... uggg can't you just be happy for us! sorry your family wasn't more supportive.

    Est Due Date / Weeks + Days:8/18 6+3

Baby is the size of a(n): tiny

Upcoming Appointments:US and MW on 1/2... only one week to go... add me to team hate the wait. I miss the super early RE ultrasounds

How are you feeling?: for the most part OK. waves of nausea but no vomiting or dry heaving (yet) and that fatigue hits like a ton of bricks, but the bloat isn't bad

Rants/Raves: my nearly 1 year old has been teething molars like crazy and up like a new born... its been rough but last night she was only up once!

Questions: anyone else here still nursing?

GTKY: Do you have any special announcements planned? Tell us about it! no not really... work was the first to know because I have to take extra precautions... we told some of my family but I think will wait to tell DH's till after the US.

    @kclark891 happy birthday
@WinchesterGirl I think its very natural to be nervous, I am... that first US can't get here soon enough. Spotting sucks. I have spotted/bled with all my pregnancies and its such a MF. I'm just waiting for it to start with this one...I too worry a little that since my symptoms are not as dramatic as my last pregnancy that something might go wrong but I try to tell myself that every pregnancy is different.
@WinchesterGirl the fear may never go away completely, just take it one day at a time. THose early days seem to drag and then all of a sudden the switch flips and time has disappeared. hopefully you can keep yourself distracted till your first US

  •  Due Date / Weeks + Days: 8/19 - 6w 2d

Baby is the size of a(n): ladybug

Upcoming Appointments: Jan 8th is my first one.

    How are you feeling?: Tired.

Rants/Raves: I have a stupid cough still. It mostly only bothers me at night so I haven't been sleeping great. Ugh.

    Questions: nope

GTKY: Do you have any special announcements planned? Tell us about it!: We told H's family with T-shirts. Still haven't told my family.
  • @Avrilmai I’m on oral progesterone 2x day. I was on 1x and I may see if they’ll let me insert vaginally for the morning dose since it makes me dizzy. It’s been rough enough at home with DD I’m worried that I won’t be able to cope when school’s back in on the 7th. What are you on?! That’s so frustrating about your RE’s schedule. Mine also has 2 offices, but they do ob u/s 3 days a week. I have to wait until the next day for the official report and bloodwork results. I think it bothers DH that I haven’t talked to the doc, but I know he’s reviewing everything so I don’t really care and I like my nurse.

@aeubanks9 toddler grandparent names are the sweetest

@vvitchhazel DD is great grandchild #13 on DH’s side so that announcement was very anticlimactic and it made me sad. Thankfully my family and DH’s parents are ridiculous about babies!

AFM, had follow up ultrasound this morning and waiting on report tomorrow afternoon. Embryo measured 5w6d (I’m 99% that I’m 6w0d) and HR was 116. I could definitely see more (no fetal pole last week) but it makes me nervous that the gestational sac put me at 5w5d a week ago (even though I thought that was way too far ahead) and I didn’t think to ask the tech if that was a big deal because I was so pleased about the heart rate. So I’ll be over here stressing out until I hear more...
  • Est Due Date / Weeks + Days: Aug 20th 6w 2d

Baby is the size of a(n): dried corn

Upcoming Appointments: Jan 4th and 1st US Jan 15th

How are you feeling?: horrible,  MS, crying,  self doubt, also my skin is super sensitive

Rants/Raves: I feel like my US is so far away,  also with depression and work I feel like this is a lot to handle.

Questions: Is anyone else in G3 having an US that late?  They said I needed to wait until over 8 weeks.

GTKY: Do you have any special announcements planned? Tell us about it! Told mom at Christmas,  everyone cried I gave her a bib with a grandma thing on it.
  • @vvitchhazel I'm relieved that your US is a bit later like mine! I'm going on the 15th.
  • @holly363 my very first appointment is later than I’d like. I go in Jan 10 which is 1 day before I’m 9 weeks. That is my first appointment ever (other than my beta bloodwork). The waiting game is no fun.
  • @aeubanks9 the waiting game is not fun at all!   They had a million other office locations too so I asked to go to another one for a sooner appointment,  but they said this would be perfect timing, (I'll be 9 weeks then) however I read that you can get your 1st US at 6 weeks so what gives?!
  • @holly363 my first appointment was originally scheduled for 1/28. I ended up calling and begging to be seen sooner since I have a lot of anxiety/paranoia being pregnant right after a MC. They ended up squeezing my in on 1/4. Much better.
  • Est Due Date / Weeks + Days: 8/18 6+4

Baby is the size of a(n): one carrot round cut diamond

Upcoming Appointments: 1/2 for first appointment with RE, then one at 8 weeks with Ob, and then graduation from RE at 9 weeks if all looks good.

How are you feeling?: besides the awful indigestion (which can be from the estrogen or progesterone) I feel great.

Rants/Raves: I know I should be counting my blessings but the no symptoms have me nervous. I also hate that I can’t buttons pants. I have not gained weight so that is good. I bought a pair of clearance maternity jeans at ON and they rang up for a penny, so that’s a rave, right?!

    Questions: Not yet :)

GTKY: Do you have any special announcements planned?  We have not told anyone yet. We will probably wait until 12 weeks to tell family and 18 to tell the world if I’m not super obvious by then. We want our 4.5 yo old to be the first to know he is getting a little brother (pgs tested embryo so yes we already know ;) ) and he can’t keep a secret at all.
  • @alwaysafterlater I am with you on pants! I already am using my belly bands 😂
  • Est Due Date: 8/18😊

Baby is the size of a(n): Reese’s cup?

     Upcoming Appointments: 1/7 and 1/22

How are you feeling?: SUPER tired, overwhelmed with everything that needs to happen before baby comes, but so happy to have bun in the oven 🥧

Rants/Raves: Was not anticipating how difficult it’d be to drop caffeine 🤦🏻‍♀️ It’s been a real struggle.

Questions: How many blood tests do we have to take?! 😫

Do you have any special announcements planned? No but totally trying to brainstorm ideas!!
  • @aeubanks9 I am glad I’m not the only one! I bought elastic waisted “Pull Up” pants during stims so that’s what I have been wearing most days. I think I need to bite the bullet and by a belly band because the rubber band trick has just been annoying me on my jeans!
  • I bought scrub pants around 30 weeks with my second kid and I'm already wearing them on weekends. The bloat is real(ly uncomfortable) so I'm not gonna torture myself with jeans of I don't have to. Scrub pants are the best!
    DD1 5/23/14, DD2 12/5/16   Baby #3 on the way!

  • @midwest_mommytobe a lot. During my first pregnancy until week 34 I think I had 6 occasions of pokes. Then ingot complicated and had weekly pokes. With my second, I had about 12 "normal" ones then a ton more in the last 10 weeks when it got complicated.
    DD1 5/23/14, DD2 12/5/16   Baby #3 on the way!

  • @midwest_mommytobe I think typically there's one at the beginning, one at the end, and then one for the glucose challenge. Then possibly more if needed. I get blood work at almost every appointment because of my thyroid.
  • Late check-in because of holiday travel and distractions!

    Est Due Date / Weeks + Days: 8/16 - 7w today

Baby is the size of a(n): blueberry

Upcoming Appointments: ultrasound at the RE on 1/3. I think after that I’ll transition to the regular OB but can’t bring myself to schedule an appointment until after the RE US

How are you feeling?: Fine other than exhaustion. I’m semi-delirious by 7 pm, but we are out of town for the holidays with all my relatives so it’s hard for me to skip events to go sleep. I have a fancy ball on Saturday that starts at 8 pm and have no idea how I’m going to survive

Rants/Raves: Pants are a scam, ladies! Especially while pregnant! Leggings w/long tops, or dresses allllll the way!

Questions: Just solidarity with everyone for the waiting game! After our history of IF this surprise pregnancy is so surreal I absolutely cannot take it seriously until I see something on the US

GTKY: Do you have any special announcements planned? Tell us about it! Nah I told my extended family before we traveled to see everyone for the holidays because my non-drinking (and wanting to go to bed at 7 pm) would be obvious.
  • @sourlemon @Beauxbaton You’d think they’d find a way around it by now 🤦🏻‍♀️ I’ve been poked 3 times and I haven’t even had my first real appt yet!! Y’all are troopers
  • Just think of it as preparation...on a teeny tiny scale.
    DD1 5/23/14, DD2 12/5/16   Baby #3 on the way!

  • @jmesue1030 I'm they were able to move your appoitment up!!!

Est Due Date / Weeks + Days:  aug 21

Baby is the size of a(n): tiny seed or eraser.

Upcoming Appointments:  US Wednesday, phone appt next Friday

How are you feeling?: fine other than tired, constant peeing, and ridiculous sense of smell

Rants/Raves: we told family on Xmas since not drinking would have been dead giveaway, my hubs wanted to post on social media, which I was fine with.  Friend who is FTM threw shade for sharing so early.  I get it, but whatever, so far this is following the same exact cycle as DS.

Questions: spent afternoon googling if my (will be ) 4 yo will need a double stroller for Disneyland

GTKY: Do you have any special announcements planned? Tell us about it!  Son wore “Santa promoting me to big brother” shirt on Xmas eve
  • @duckinoven My kids were 5 and 2 when we went to Disney in October. Definitely needed the double stroller. I think it's safer to keep them together and contained when the park is crowded.
  • Est Due Date / Weeks + Days: 08/23/19- 6w1D

Baby is the size of a(n): sweet pea according to the app lol

Upcoming Appointments: u/s and nurse visit 1/15 and OBGYN visit 1/17

How are you feeling?: I wake up sweating like a ran 7 miles. I am nauseous when I first wake up and when I’m hungry but I’m not actually throwing up actually it’s the opposite(occasional diarrhea lol) my breast are sooo sore I’m tired all the time could sleep all day and night & occasional head aches

Rants/Raves: when I did the vaginal U/S at er they could see a sac and yolk sac but no baby (simoly too early). I hate the symptoms but love the fact that I’m having a baby💜

Questions: how do I stay patient until ultrasound on 1/15 to make sure there’s an actual baby and heart beat?!

GTKY: Do you have any special announcements planned? Tell us about it!
i told my parents and his parents. I will not tell anyone else until after the 1st trimester

How are you feeling?: So so SO tired! Migraine today, increasing nausea, gassy/bloated like crazy, itchy skin, pretty emotional some days (cried last week because MH rolled his eyes at me), anxious, but all in all super excited.

Rants/Raves: 7 year old daughter is being an absolute terror this last week with all the back and forth between our house and her mom's for the holidays and not being on her regular school schedule and it's really stressing out the household.

    Questions: Nope

GTKY: Do you have any special announcements planned? Tell us about it!
For MH family we gave his parents a family history book to fill out and signed it from our 2 daughters and Gbaby #3 coming Aug 2019. For my family we put a positive pregnancy test in with the dice game stuff (I taped off the pee end of the stick really good!) which my Dad won and opened, much to his deep confusion for a few seconds before it finally clicked for him. We also "adopted" another mom/Gma when my/MH's best friend died a few years ago; we got her a Grandma's Story book to fill out about her life and childhood memories and signed that from the 2 grandkids+1 on the way. I really like that it was a special way of telling them and will also provide priceless, handwritten family history for our kids to keep forever. Lots of tears all around!
We're waiting to go public until after the u/s on the 4th to make sure things are progressing right.
