Rants/Raves?: I’m exhausted and am not making good food choices! I just started working our again after years and year and having a nasty upper respiratory infection last week as well as suddenly finding out I’m pregnant has certainly thrown a wrench in trying to be fit.

Any specific AMA concerns? Well I had a doctor tell me on Friday when I went in for being sick with a bag cough/cold that lasted two weeks that “at your age there is a high chance of autism, the British found that out with a study and no one will talk about it in the US because we’re all so sensitive”. She also told me that I should get an amnio at my age and was impressed I was “ actually going through with this...” 😬 This was literally HOURS after I found out I was pregnant. That doctor was crazy.

Any appointments? Questions?: We just had our first appointment yesterday, and everything looked good. HR 160. Next appointment in 4 weeks and I'll have the NIPT drawn then.

Rants/Raves?: My dog puked all over the carpet this morning because my husband gave him pizza crust that had too many spices on it last night. I should have made him clean it up by himself, but of course I helped.

Any specific AMA concerns? Just in general concerns, I don't think I'll be fully calm about this pregnancy until after the A/S.

Rants/Raves?: Rant: I forgot how ragey I was in the first tri last time. It seems early, but I have been super emotional this week. Raves: Our office is shutting down next week, which is great. I am the director and I don't feel like I can truly relax when I take time off unless I know no one else is working, so it's my one week a year to truly chill.

Any specific AMA concerns? Not yet. I just had my son less than two years ago, and I don't feel that much different now, so it's hard to think of myself as AMA.

GTKY: Who was your celebrity crush as a teenager? I had a huge crush on Gavin Rossdale from Bush in middle school...I con't remember any from high school.

@mkrel sorry about the dog vomit! It's the worst. Give me child bodily fluids any old day, but cleaning up dog puke...ugh.

FTM/STM/TTM, etc?: STM

Any appointments? Questions?: My first ultrasound was yesterday. Still waiting on my blood draw and official report which should be back this afternoon. I assume I'll be going in for another ultrasound on 12/26--which I'm already nervous for--my embryos have had a hard time with the 5/6 week transition (or they grow painfully slowly after 6 weeks and then arrest)

@Amdogger82 and my patience is very thin--which is terrible since I'm a title one math teacher and all my students need extra love and patience and understanding. I'm really looking forward to being able to nap for the next 2 weeks!

Any specific AMA concerns?: eh. We did NIPT with DD when I wasn't AMA and we'll do the same. I'm most worried about a fatal trisomy or other genetic issue since I've had 2 MMCs and a bunch of CPs. I did have a positive TPO antibody test so I'm hoping that some of those can be explained by autoimmune clotting issues..but still, worrying is what I'm best at.

@mrsbuttercupbev I can't believe a doctor would say all of that! That's INSANE! I'm so sorry--and hope you complained to an office manager.

Rants/Raves?: working is so difficult when you have much more important things to think about, not to mention the nausea, lack of energy, and not being able to share the news just yet! Luckily I’ll have two weeks off after tomorrow.

Age? 41 - So far I am proud to be the oldest person in this thread! (My embryo was frozen when I was 36, so that changes my risks some.)

Any appointments? Questions?: I conceived through a frozen embryo transfer, so I have my 6 week ultrasound scheduled for January 3. I'm so excited to hear the heartbeat!

Rants/Raves?: I hate stickers you can never peel of without leaving that sticky residue, ugh. I love wearing dresses 365 days a year. As far as pregnancy so far - I love the fact that I'm pregnant and hate the fact that I can't tell everyone! And I sorta hate that I’m such a scatterbrain I originally posted in the wrong week’s AMA thread

Any specific AMA concerns? Not really - I am with a great RE at a great hospital and they have a (you guessed it) great team of high risk OBs if I need one.

@mrsbuttercupbev Your doctor sounds like an asshole. Personally I would leave her practice, and I would make it really clear why to anyone higher up.

I am 41, my best friend is 38 - we are first time moms and all of our friends having kids for the first time are in their late 30s! I don't know a single woman under 30 with a kid. I bet your doctor would get the shock of her life if she tried to move to a practice with patients who were mostly professional women in a major city.

@elvedon and @wabash15 it’s not my doctor thank goodness! I had a beastly upper respiratory infection and it was the only doctor at my primary care I could get into. I know the practice manager and totally called her to complain!

Any appointments? Questions?: First ultrasound scheduled for when we return from holiday travel, on January 3. I’ll be almost 8 weeks and it’s a big difference from last pregnancy where I had a lot of early monitoring through my RE.

Rants/Raves?: I have a head cold FOR THE FIRST TIME IN TWO YEARS thanks pregnancy for the lazy immune system!

@elvedon I’m so with you that no one in my circle has kids pre-30, and even in my geographical area at large mothers tend to be older. With my first at 34 I had a lactation consultant exclaim “oh you’re such a young mom for the Bay Area!” and it felt very nice hahaha

Due date/W+D: 8/28 - 5 weeks

Age? 36

FTM/STM/TTM, etc?: STM and it has been 11 years since preggers last!!

Any appointments? Questions?: First appointment scheduled with in office u/s is Jan. 23 at nearly 9 weeks.

Rants/Raves?: I have been having some light cramping off and on today. I am also remembering all of the little things that you forget about pregnancy... like the cramping as things adjust and aches from all the extra stuff going on. I haven't told anyone except my husband and medical professionals. I switched to decaf coffee today - I have to have coffee!

I am a little worried as I will be 37 when this baby is born. I also had been on blood pressure meds, so I worry about that being an issue (although, with my dd, my blood pressure went down and stayed down for years after her, so I am hoping that is the result!)

GTKY: Who was your celebrity crush as a teenager? Totally JC Chasez from N'Sync, Mark Paul Gosslar when I was a bit younger.
