Could someone tell my morning sickness to take a hike? It's come back in the last couple of days and now i spend five min before i leave every morning standing in my living room dry heaving and trying to figure out if it's going to actually go somewhere.
Also i had a sneezing fit this morning (i usually sneeze at least a couple of times every morning) and was almost late to work because i had to change my underpants.
Reminder; do your kegels.

@sheknows I feel you. I also developed a head cold over the weekend and am miserable (mostly because I'm not sleeping). I feel like I'm being a big baby over this cold, but it's probably been three or four years since I had one so I've just been spoiled.
I other news, I was diagnosed with another UTI last week. Since this is the second UTI of my pregnancy and I have a history of kidney and badder issues, I will now be on a maintenance antibiotic for the remainder of my pregnancy. I get why, but I wish I didn't have to be on meds for months. With my first UTI, I knew I had one, but it was dismissed by my regular doctor as just early pregnancy symptoms. So I went almost 5 weeks untreated. They then started regularly testing my urine for infection at every OB/GYN appointment (though I often had to remind the front desk staff that is wasn't the routine urine test). I didn't even know I had this second UTI. I did feel run down and I was "waddling" but none of the other typical symptoms like going more frequently, pain, or burning. I'd recommend any other April moms who are "waddling" to get checked out for a UTI. Usually you don't start to walk that way until the baby has dropped and you are a lot closer to delivery. That's my PSA!
Besides my ongoing back and sciatic pain, I'm also fighting a head cold. I can't decide if I want to call in tomorrow or not. It's my last opportunity to take a sick day this week but I don't know if I want to do it or not.
@jenbarrdoc Thanks for the PSA! I always wake up with super dark urine and sometimes it's cloudy during the day -- maybe it's not a problem at all but this did make me think that perhaps I should ask my doc to do a urine check even if I'm not having lot of other symptoms. The last time I had one was at, like, 12 weeks, maybe?
Definitely been having more sniss events recently. Gotta remember to do those kegels...
@thatbaintforbetty, ugh, that's my biggest complaint with still having this freaking cough from hell that won't go away. I am almost guaranteed to get in a hacking fit and pee myself at the most inopportune times (like trying to teach a class).
Overall, I feel like a slovenly ball of yuck. I feel like I've already left the wonderful second tri energy burst behind and am now cruising right on into miserable 24/7. Blech.
I was on an antibiotic for a sinus infection and ended up with what I thought was a yeast infection. I treated it and get a lot of relief but I am still feeling kind of itchy. This is not fun!
@jenbarrdoc I’m also on maintenance UTI pills... super not fun. I feel you’re pain😫 so sorry!
also.. I’m looking for some guidance here as a FTM. (I posted to the wrong board😅) My LO is normally very active when I lay down at night and when I get up in the morning but the past two days I haven’t really felt much... am I being totally paranoid? Is it still too early to worry about that? Or should I maybe call my OB?
Does anyone else feel like you got kicked in the pelvic/pubic bone region by a moose? I mean, I’ve never ACTUALLY been kicked by a moose, but I currently can imagine what it would feel like. TTM here, and I don’t remember this soreness and ache until well into 3rd trimester with previous babies!
@thatbaintforbetty I am so so sorry you’re still dealing with morning sickness. That sucks.
@mrstmoose okay, thank you! I just thought we had a routine nailed down so I was a little worried when things started to change😅 I’ll call my OB, just to be sure. Thanks!!
@katlarissa yes my pelvic/pubic bones feel like they’re being ripped from my body. By the end of the day I can barely even walk. I don’t remember ever have pain this severe with my last two
+1 for a cold/sinus gunk. It has wiped me out. I feel like I could sleep all day and have absolutely no energy or desire to finish my laundry and clean the house for my family Christmas this weekend
We've been getting by with the bare minimum here... although I have my 16 month old nephew tomorrow so I at least have to pick up DS's playmobile toys scattered everywhere, haha.
@blueberrymomma I started trying to clean last week so that maybe i'd be done by Christmas, lol. And DH was all i can help you just tell me to do, so i asked him to bring in the laundry and clean up the recycling. Guess what didn't get done? I'll have to bust out the rest of the cleaning this weekend, my kitchen seriously needs it.
@katlarissa Yep, thankfully it seems to come and go but there are definitely times i feel like that and i don't remember having any sort of pelvic pain till a lot later on last time.
@kangstadt If i sneeze or cough while standing up i'm guaranteed to need a change of pants. No fun. It's fine if i'm sitting, so it's been very funny when i randomly stop what i'm doing, sit down and pause waiting for it to happen. And of course it usually catches me by surprise as i'm trying to walk out the door.

Starting to get some lovely lower back pain and feeling myself leaning my hips forward now, really struggling to tilt my hips properly or maintain good posture. I need to get my maternity belt out already I guess. I’ve been doing kegels during yoga, so it’s been a nice way to remember to do them, just adding them to a routine I’m already doing. I’ve also been so tired I’ve been dehydrating myself a little before bed so I don’t wake up so much to pee. Then I wake up feeling hungover until I chug a bunch of water. I guess that’s one benefit to being pregnant in winter. I feel thirsty more so I drink more.
@lilpotatomama no leaking for me yet, but the nipples are getting to be an ungodly size.
I've noticed, each yesterday and today, my back tightening up and releasing. It makes me panic that it might be contractions already (I had back labor last time) but I'm pretty sure it's just a sign I need to poop.
I'm pretty sure my OB is ready for me to not be pregnant since I'm such a worrier.
@lilpotatomama I've been leaking for about 2 weeks now. Didn't really have that problem with DD1, but I was also barely able to produce any milk after she was born either despite my best efforts. I don't know if there's any actual correlation, but maybe this bodes well for better milk production this time?
I've got a sinus infection and have felt crummy for days. DH has one too, and of course it's always worse for him.
Pretty sure I felt hiccups from my little one yesterday! That was cool, and weird.
No leaking for me yet, although my left nipple is getting considerably larger than my right!
I just constantly feel like I have to burp or puke all the time (although I'm not very nauseous anymore). It's super annoying and hard to enjoy eating with this feeling. It's almost like heartburn is knocking at the door of my throat but hasn't shown its ugly head yet, except for one episode last week.
@lilpotatomama I leak with any kind of stimulation to them, it’s probably just a matter of time till it happens with none. I thankfully already sleep with some sort of sleep/sports bra but probably should pick up some pads just in case. Also whoever said that their nipples were huge, yes yes yes. I don’t remember that happening last time but mine are enourmous now....

@kangstadt I too have a nasty cough that frequently causes me to pee myself, I literally have to bring underwear with me to work bc sometimes i forget to put a pantyliner in. I sound like a freaking 70 yr old chain smoker, its disgusting.
@katlarissa TTM here too, feeling like pubic bone is about to split in half, I actually had this with my 1st pregnancy when DD dropped (about 35 weeks). Never had it with my 2nd.
I feel like a fat penguin already, so tired of being tired. 2nd trimester sucks.
@snowhite12 someone asked how far along I was yesterday and responded with 22 weeks. SHE said "oh I thought you were further along." Well, I thought you were too but you're 70. Soooooo.
@mrstmoose I hate hearing that. And I’m getting it all the time since I’m so much bigger this go around. Even my mother keeps saying “my neighbor is due in February and nowhere near as big as you.” Gee thanks mom. I already feel like a blimp, do you have to remind that I look like one too? The woman had 4 kids, I know she knows better.
Also they usually follow it up with “well it must be a big baby!” And get flustered when I tell them nope she’s tiny like her sister.

My mom keeps commenting on how huge I am she had her first baby at 18 and then me at 21. She comments all the time how I'm bigger than she was. So far she hasn't caught me on an emotional day. My boyfriend gets upset for me before I get a chance to tell my mom off anyway. He gets pissed when I come up with a new way to call myself fat every day. My current favorite is calling myself two ton Tessa but he is never as pleased as I am about it lol.
No leaking here yet. I'm hoping that holds off for awhile. @mrstmoose I also notice that I've got the pelvic tilt going on already. Trying to be cognitive about that!
I finally have a good symptom! My skin is so smooth!! I have really bad keratosis pilaris (those red bumps on the back of your upper arm). Mine are all over my arms, butt and legs, but pregnancy helps so much with it. My arms are smooth - it normally feels like goose bumps all the time. My legs are still spotty but it's not like I'm wearing short shorts anytime soon!

Not technically a symptom, but not really interesting enough for a random, either: anyone else have trouble keeping off their back? I was a side-sleeper before I got pregnant, but recently I've been waking up like 6-8 times a night on my back. My OB said it was time for a pillow fort, but so far I just scoot them as I roll because I'm just using normal pillows. Anyone have tips or tricks for making Asleep Self obey before I have to buy something hefty?
@sister_c, I've had a lot more Braxton Hicks this time (second pregnancy) as well. I hope everything checks out okay. My OB told me as long as they aren't happening more frequently than 4-5 times in an hour and they're not painful, it's normal for STMs to notice them earlier.
@TheSouffleGirl, obviously listen to your OB's advice, but I have read that sleeping on your back is okay to an extent - generally our body will know when we need to roll over, at least at this point while babe is still fairly small. I don't really have much advice, I've been waking on my back also even though I usually sleep on my stomach. I've heard good things about the Snoogle or Snoodle or whatever that pillow thing is . Maybe that would help?
I'm really not loving this lowered immune system. I've been up since 4.30 due to a coughing fit from hell. I was sick with a chest cold the week before Thanksgiving! Now I managed to catch another one and I'm miserable all over again. I usually get one bad cold in the winter but I guess that's not the case while pregnant. Hope you ladies are staying healthy and warm!
@mrstmoose@thatbaintforbetty@phoenix92885 I’m sorry you’re all going through that too! I started showing so much earlier than I expected (FTM) and thankfully my mom makes me feel better because she always showed early too. But I was at a birthday party for a friend a couple weeks ago and someone I hadn’t seen in awhile asked me when I was due and when I said “April” she said “wow, you’re so much bigger than I expected you to be”. Gee, thanks! Like I didn’t feel self conscious enough.
As for other symptoms, I’m still completely exhausted, but having trouble sleeping (which is really not working for me to be a functional human). And I’m still struggling with nausea/morning sickness. If it wasn’t for my Diclegis, I don’t think I could handle leaving my couch. Every time I think it’s gone, it rears its ugly head.
+1 for having cold symptoms...again. I swear I just got rid of them and last night I was congested and woke up this morning not being able to breathe from my nose. Lucky for me I have my diffuser in my office helping out on that front a bit today.
I feel like the pelvic pain is starting way earlier with this one than with DD. Sometimes it hurts so bad to walk with all the pressure/pain down there. I don't remember that feeling until 3rd trimester. I was hoping that yoga was going to help with the strengthening but so far no go.
@TheSouffleGirl I still wake up on my back too even though I start off on my side with a pregnancy pillow. With baby being small yet I think as long as you wake up comfortable and not short of breath it's not causing any harm. I feel like our bodies won't leave us sleeping on our back if it's causing issues. I know I couldn't stand to be on my back 3rd trimester last time around and never woke up that way.
