This was ours! (Well, mine. DH did a family version of the same idea) Getting a two year old to pose and smile wasn’t easy, but I loved how it turned out
So I waited until Christmas to tell my family. For my immediate family on my side I gave them all a wrapped gift right before lunch (we do gifts after usually) and asked everyone to open together. It was a random piece of store bought food (muesli bars, rice & beans, pudding, apple pie). Each of these had a brand name of 'Nanna's', 'Uncle Ben's, 'Aunt Betty's etc and after a minute or two they put it together and it was great. I'd stuck a little 'June 2019' on each product. I also made a gingerbread family for some other relatives (adults, dog and baby). There were also some typical photo cards for a couple of other relatives and the mother in law. All in all it worked well
‘Twas the night before Christmas, when all thro’ the house, Not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse; The stockings were hung by the chimney with care, In hopes that St. Nicholas soon would be there;
The toddler was nestled all snug in his bed, And the kitty was dreaming of mice in her head When up on the roof, there arose such a clatter, Santa looked up to see what was the matter
After landing just recently, reindeer tied and bag in tow It seemed another visitor was also coming to this home He crept up the side of the rooftop to see A giant bird with a sign reading, “Mama to Be”
Santa broke into a smile, and said, “What will it be?” But the stork simply shook its head and got on its feet
After leaving a small bundle for Santa to deliver The bird took off into the night, not another chirp given.
Santa picked up the bundle and hugged it close Then down through the chimney he went, with packages and bows
He laid all the presents beneath the tree Then he snuck into the bedroom where Mama was sleeping He wrapped the special bundle all snug in her belly And added a special tag saying “Don’t open until July 2019”
Then he sprang from the house, and up the chimney he went Back with the reindeer, and back in his sled
Then the hoofsteps got louder, as he rode out of sight “Merry Christmas to all, and to all a goodnight!”

I let my youngest niece take care of the announcement tonight with the extended family. My daughter had to be the one to tell her cousins and the first thing the little one asked when we got there was "Do I have to keep it a secret?" No Chloe, you run off and tell everyone you feel like telling!
I hate doing things like that so it was a huge relief for me.
