@mrstmoose, I'm not really sure if that's what their parents did or how it came about. I never thought it was odd until my DH told me I'm weird for wanting to wait. My parents would always have the kids (8 of us) decorate the tree on Christmas eve, hang our stockings, and we would have our elderly neighbor friend over who would tell stories. I think part of the reasoning was because there's such an age gap in my siblings (23 years from the oldest to me, the youngest) that decorating on Christmas eve was the only way everyone would be home for it. We also would line up by age, youngest to oldest, on the stairs Christmas morning to walk down and go in the living room for presents.
Who does Christmas baking? I want to know what you make!
We had DH’s cousin over yesterday to bake/hang out and made: Spice cookies (soft gingersnaps) Roll cookies decorated with colored sugar/sprinkles Coconut macaroons Hazelnut shortbread Chocolate pretzels (meh but not sure why) 7-layer squares (3 layers of cake separated by two jams, plus chocolate on top and bottom)
i usually make some sort of candy (like peanut brittle or bark) as well, and we’re considering a citrus biscotti this year.
@lyse01 I haven’t decided if I’m making any this year since I can’t eat any and don’t want tons of cookies sitting around to torture me. But I usually make some or all of the following:
sugar cookies peanut blossoms (peanut butter cookies topped with a Hershey kiss) spritz cookies with and without cherries chicolate chip cookies triple chocolate or backwards chocolate cookies peanut brittle cracker candy divinity fudge chocolate fudge peanut clusters peanut butter cookies caramel cornÂ

@blueberrymomma, now I want oreos... and s'mores... those all sound amazinggg. All I'm planning on making with DS are sugar cookies and maybe apple muffins for gifts since I have zero energy.
