Speaking of dreams, I had one last night where I literally woke up feeling anxious just because of the dream (in it, my child was trolling me hard, not listening to me whatsoever, and I was stuck in the car seat right next to him while he rubbed yogurt all over his face and me. Even in the dream, I asked DH to switch spots with me because I could feel my temper rising.)
Ughhh the dreams. Usually, mine are at least funny. Last night was horrible. **TW** It involved a child (not my own) being hurt in the worst way and I couldn't save her. I kept having to wake up and run to check on DD. After 3 times of falling asleep and having the same nightmare, I finally decided to just stay up the rest of the night.
Had our a/s on Friday. Little man is still doing well. They did find out that even though there are 3 vessels in the umbilical cord (like there should be), one artery is much smaller than the other one so I have to go in for a level 2 u/s to confirm that and then if it is the case, I will have growth scans to make sure he keeps growing like he should. My OB didn't seem concerned about it so I've decided I'm not going to worry until I need to.
My pregnancy with DD was not easy either as she was diagnosed with a heart condition. So I'm apparently destined to have complicated children.
We have 4 back to back/overlapping medical appts today (4 locations, 3 towns, 1x DD, 1xDH, 2x me) and DH’s car just broke down. So now I have a sleeping 25 lb toddler to carry through a hospital in a car seat with a bad back for an ultrasound. Cause that’s not a recipe for disaster.
@lyse01, I'm so sorry! That blows. Why does this kinda stuff always seem to happen on Mondays? Fingers crossed all of the appointments go well for you.
My youngest sister just announced she's pregnant. That's 3 out of the 4 of us sisters that are currently expecting (and the other one is trying). So one sis is due with baby #5 in July and another is due with her first in August. It's going to be a busy year for my parents.
@chrissdee my parents in law are going to go from having 1 grand child to having 5 this spring because we're having twins and DHs sister and brother are also expecting in June and July. Crazy times, but it'll be fun for the kids to have lots of cousins in the same age. I have 4 cousins born within a year from me, and we always had a lot of fun even though we're all very different.
@honey_suckle I also love that this baby is going to have cousins very close in age. I just wish we lived closer to each other. The sister pregnant with #5 lives in FL, the one who will be a FTM is in WV, and I'm in SC. (The one w/o kids is in NC and really not too far from me.) My parents live in FL but now they're thinking of moving somewhere more central to all of us.
I really wish my kids had cousins. However, my husband and I are both more than 5 years older than our closest siblings, so I don't think cousins are in the near future. Especially because of where both of those siblings are in their lives. My BIL is still in graduate school, and I'm pretty sure they won't be having kids at least until he's done. And my sister just started dating a guy, but he lives in a different state right now. So, so cousins
Also, I think yesterday I officially entered the ravenous stage of pregnancy. I could not stop eating last night, and today has been the same. This is normal... right? With my previous pregnancy I was too nauseated to be hungry ever.
@professormama I wish my kid had cousins too. I loved growing up with mine, one was a couple years older then me and her sister was a couple years younger, which was right around my sisters age. And they lived 20 min from us so we saw them all the time.
Technically that older cousin lives 20 min from me still and she just got married in March, but i don't know what their timeline looks like in terms of kids, so who knows. Her sister lives out of state, and last i knew was thinking about kids but my sister doesn't want any. Also most of my local friends don't have kids. At some point i need to make local mom friends.

@kangstadt thanks! I’m on a high from today’s ultrasound, DD behaved during it, and we got DH’s car jumped (he had killed the battery, again), so things are looking up
Meanwhile, DH’s half-sibs are like 20 years older than him so DD’s cousins on that side are graduating college and getting married. My brother is close to getting engaged, so our third kid will likely be close to my brother’s first, barring any IF/loss issues. DD’s third cousins will be her family playmates (she sees them 2-3 times/year).
I felt a kick from the outside today!!! And baby must have totally flipped around - I usually feel movement in my lower left but today it's all upper right. I tried to take a video because I could see the little bumps but he stopped as soon as I tried haha.

I just got a fix-it ticket for my cars window tint being too dark🤬🤬 I bought the car the way it is now and have been driving it for 6 years... the cop literally pulled me over JUST for tint. He was just sitting in an empty parking lot waiting for someone. I’m SO annoyed!! And of course it happens while DH is out of the country. I guess there goes my Christmas present🙄
@lilpotatomama when I hit 20 weeks, I had gained 7 lbs in one week and I was freaking out a little bit, but everything is fine. I wouldn’t stress too much about weight gain unless your doctor has concerns.
@chrissdee our kids will have all their cousins that are the same age on the other side of the Atlantic, so it will definitely be more of a once a year visit. My sisters are 9 and 13 years older than me, so their youngest kids are 10 and 11. They are soooo excited for the twins though, and will make good teachers/babysitters in a few years
@mermaidca I just started feeling kicks from the outside too! It still feels super exciting, I almost gave off a little shout during a presentation today when I felt one with my hand.
@lin0442 that happens to my husband a lot too. I think it’s the pressure. When I put my hand there I rest it VERY lightly. My husband has a kind of big heavy hand and it tends to put some pressure on my baby.
Hi I am so jealous of those who can feel kicks on the outside. I was just informed that I have an anterior placenta and the kicks I feel are very sporadic and low. I worry that DH won’t be able to feel them. And that we won’t see the movement from the outside.

Hey! I have anterior placenta right now and did with DS as well. It was just a bit later than DH was able to feel last time, and this pregnancy he felt a big one up high a few days ago! It'll happen - it might just take a big longer!
In my last pregnancy I don't think H felt a kick at all and there were 2 babies in there!!! He's not very patient either so after about 30 seconds he'd take his hand off. Or he didn't really recognize that the tiny little twitch was a kick. Maybe because we can feel it on the inside as it's happening too helps us notice them more.

I have an anterior placenta as well and I am worried about this as well. I am hoping my girls will be able to feel the baby. They are so anxious to be able to feel it. I am just now finally able to feel it myself so I am trying to be patient.
I posted recently about work complaints, so I guess I should acknowledge the good stuff too. My boss just sent out an email to inform us that she's giving us the full week of Christmas off paid. Usually, it's just Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. She regrets that they're unable to give bonuses or raises this year so she wanted to do a little something extra. I'll take it!
Yay to birthdays, @midway_mouse and @jayhawkmom4!! I just turned 39 and realized that I'll be turning 40 with a 7 month old. And I'm loving it!
@chrissdee I think it's great that your LO will have so many cousins! My LO will definitely be an only child (he/she will have 5 step siblings who are all 17-31 years older) and will probably have no cousins. My sister passed away in May and my brother is a total bachelor. If he has a kid it'll be on accident lol. It's a far cry from how I grew up - I have about 35 cousins, ranging in age from me (the oldest) down to like 14 or something.
@honey_suckle Can I just say how happy I am to see you wrote "parents in law" instead of "parent in laws." I'm such a grammar nazi!
@chrissdee I'm jealous! That's awesome that they are trying to do something at least.
@midway_mouse I had an anterior placenta last time, it takes longer but you can totally feel kicks from the outside later on. I didn't even feel her till after 22 weeks (which was a blessing in disguise cause she did kung fu 24/7).
Over the weekend i was sitting and just barely felt her moving so i lifted up my shirt and my whole belly was shifting and moving. DH even saw it and went wide eyed, but i could barely feel it. Super weird.

For a while it seemed like I just needed to think of telling DH to feel and the kicks would stop, but he’s gotten to feel a few now. Last night was the first time we saw them, so strange!

Was laying on the couch yesterday and DH kneeled down so my belly was at eye level so he could actually see the kicks!
