  • EDD? Jan. 7

Symptoms? Sore at the end of the day , who am I kidding mostly all day

Upcoming Appointments? Nov.14 reg OB check up

R/R/Q? DD has been so fun lately. We've entered the questions phase and shell ask "what's that?" But not in an annoying way (yet). I have my church shower on Sunday and I'm getting really excited.

GTKY: If you could meet anyone, living or dead,  who would it be and why?
I recently did 23andme and it came back what I expected as mostly European.  But it said back in the 1600s era there is a little South Asian ( like Polynesian) mixed in there. So I guess I would like to meet me ancestors that came from there.

  • @DLpanda08 I have had really bad swelling issues in my legs and feet. So bad they ballon up like heated marshmallows and my joints are so stiff I can't bend my knees and ankles fully. All my pre-e tests have come back normal so far so looks like it's just ridiculous swelling. My OB gave me a prescription for compression socks so I can claim them under insurance and they are AMAZING! I have almost normal ankles again, my shoes are back to fitting properly, and I have very little swelling and basically no discomfort. I highly recommend investing in a few pair if you haven't already!

  • EDD? 12/30
Symptoms? Feels like all of them: heartburn (so bad!), hot flashes at night, insomnia, fatigue,
Upcoming Appointments? Waterbirth class tonight, then regular midwife appointment next Tuesday
Rant: Went to the dermatologist as I figured we are hitting our deductible this year, so I'm cramming in all the appointments. I had to get a mole removed (it came back normal yay!) but now I have stitches in my upper left arm, which further reduces my sleeping positions :(
Rave: We are going on a mini baby moon this weekend to Olympic National Park. I'm looking forward to lots of time in the lodge by the fire and floating around the indoor pool. My husband was trying to propose a 20 mile hike, but I shot that down quickly.
GTKY: If you could meet anyone, living or dead,  who would it be and why? Hmm this is hard, but maybe one of the female pioneers of history like Eleanor Roosevelt or something along those lines. I'm kind of blanking at the moment.
  • @tosh24 I’m definitely going to have to try some compression socks. Anything to get a handle on this swelling!

@kerryann22 your mini baby moon sounds awesome! But seriously? A 20 mile hike? Glad you talked him out of that one!

  • @rooonilwaazlib That is so frustrating!  I hope your FIL is able to understand that a bio connection isn't the only thing that makes a family. FWIW, my dad's stepdad was by all accounts a complete hardass with him and his brothers, but became a big softie once grandkids entered the picture (to the point that we're naming our son after him).  FX your FIL has a similar experience and is able to develop a strong relationship with your LO!

    EDD? 12/26

Symptoms? hip pain and BH non-stop, also running to the bathroom every 5 mins - I feel like I don't look like the baby has really dropped but I've def noticed a significant increase in the amount of times I use the bathroom.

Upcoming Appointments? next one is 11/19 @ 34wks but I'm contemplating doing a 3D US soon because I haven't had an US since wk 20!

R/R/Q? Rant: it's been a horrible week emotionally and I finally got DH on board with doing all the house stuff since I really can't only for him to text me this morning that he's sick and was throwing up at work.  He actually stayed at work all day but I just know when he comes home and for the next few days he'll be on his death bed.

Rave: aside from getting a few odd and ends, I'm ready for the baby to get here.  All the clothes/blankets/sheets/etc are washed and put away, bottles are sterilized and put away, diaper stash is well on its way and organized, car seat has winter cover on it and it ready to be installed as soon as the time comes, hospital bag is packed and plans are made for DS and a dog sitter.

Question:  I posted this under randoms too but does anyone happen to know when Buy Buy Baby sends out their completion discount and if they email it or just put it on your account?  I have a few things specific to that store I want to pick up but I've been waiting for the completion discount to do it.  I've already gotten and used my Target & Amazon ones.

GTKY: If you could meet anyone, living or dead,  who would it be and why?  there isn't anyone I'd like to meet but soooo many people I'd love to see and talk to just one more time (all of my grandparents, my uncle, an old best friend).
  • @alexandraseattle I haven't experienced them, but Braxton Hicks are supposed to be painless. Your uterus hardens or inflates for quick, irregular periods of time, then goes back to normal. No pain, though. You could be getting bowel pains - those are super common and awfully annoying.
  • EDD? January 2nd (though there is talk of potentially inducing early)

Symptoms? peeing a lot and/or the urge to pee all the time, like I'm concerned I have a UTI (trying to get in with dr to figure out); some pain in my sacrum area; just feeling over all large, tired and like I have been pregnant for 1000 years; also my stress levels at work are at an all time high so that doesn't help anything

Upcoming Appointments? Every week now I see:
    • MFM for growth scans
    • OB/Midwife/TDB (see below)
    • Chiropractor
    • Massage Therapist
    • Birthing Class (Bradley Method)
    • Prenatal Yoga
    • Meeting with the Doula every other week or so
My schedule is INSANE man being pregnant is a lot of work

R/R/Q? After 4 follow up scans since my AS, baby is measuring really small so I got kicked out of my midwife practice on Monday for risking out. So here I am at 32 weeks and technically "high risk" with no primary OB or Midwife. Trying to scramble and do some research, making phone calls and begging OBs to take me on all while it is the absolute busiest time of year for me at work and my stress levels are through the roof.
On the plus side, it was good excuse to cancel our Thanksgiving trip to see family since I really don't need that extra stress right now and I doubt I should travel at this point.

GTKY: If you could meet anyone, living or dead,  who would it be and why?
Can it be from the future? I want to meet my baby but 30 years in the future so we are the same age and I just think that would be cool. Or maybe my mom from 30 years ago to see what she was like at my age as a new mom.
  • @leighbrek lol I agree, I don't want to meet anyone new

@sfgiantsgamerbabe ugh I got my flu shot this week and my arm is still so sore I'm having a hard time sleeping on my side. I got the TDAP in the other arm so flipping over doesn't work either. Sounds like your son is less of a baby about it than I am  :D

@kerryann124 so smart! I have a mole I need removed and have been putting off...completely forgot about the fact that my deductible is already met

@tosh24 dang girl you sound so on top of it! I doubt I will get around to cleaning out the nursery closet until Thanksgiving at best

@rooonilwaazlib my in-laws have shown very little interest in our pregnancy as well. My BIL is also the favorite/baby of the family and he just had a baby earlier this year and it's literally all they ever talk about and everyone has to circle their lives, plans, holidays, etc. around them and their baby. I have zero expectations of that changing when we have our baby so that will make for an awkward cousin dynamic...oh well! It's their loss really and like @AshVA said they dynamic could totally change once LO is here so FX that happens for you
  • @KLS123 I'm so sorry you've been put in the position to find another provider last minute. Seems really crappy that the midwife practice itself wouldn't refer you to an OB practice they deal with in these situations. How can they just leave a high-risk mother without care?!?!? Do you know in what percentile baby is measuring?

@rooonilwaazlib I've only ever done private hypnobirthing classes with my doula in my own home, but I love them. I've never been big into meditation/relaxation because I'm just not that personality type, but hypnobirthing really worked for me!

  • @KLS123 that’s insane that your midwife practice wouldn’t even refer you to an OB practice that can help! I’m sorry you’re dealing with so much stress.

  • @DLpanda08 @tosh24 to be fair, they did refer me to an OB that after doing some research I do not want to continue care with. My doula has made some recommendations for some OBs that would be more aligned with my needs and I am trying to get in with one of them.
LO is measuring in the 4.5 percentile so I understand that's really small and requires monitoring. I think it's also important to take into consideration that I have been in the <10th percentile my entire pregnancy With the growth trending on track and all other indicators perfectly healthy but I started small and have stayed small. I was also a very small baby for my gestational age

at this point im just really hoping to be with a care provider that looks at the whole picture instead of just the percentile and pushing me to an early induction
  • @bradleysmommy28 When / how did you get your Target completion discount? I guess I'm 2 weeks after you but I still want to be on the lookout for it. Haven't heard anything from Target or BBB about it yet. How about Amazon? I have a small hidden registry that I created more as a list for myself and to use the discount.

Heads up if anyone else is Military, 25% off of everything at BBB this weekend for Veteran's Day. I'm torn because it is such a great deal and I'd like to stock up but I still have showers this weekend and next.

  • @lacroixliz for Amazon, once you're 60 days out from your due date there will be a link at the top of your registry that says "redeem now" for completion discount and it gives you the option to choose what you want to buy. Super easy!

And 25% off is an amazing deal! If you're worried about missing it you could just go stock up but keep your receipts and return anything you happen to get at your showers. BBB is pretty chill about returns I think.
  • @kaf1788 @lacroixliz our amazon discount just went live, and FYI it's only on two orders of up to $2000.  We had a ton of kids books on our reg on Amazon that aren't eligible and neither are diapers.  We got a lot of cash from our shower so we're going to put the cash toward Amazon and do a mega order!

We have a private Target registry too. I can't tell if Target has restrictions on the number of purchases you can make, or the total amount you can spend, but from what I've read online you can have literally anything on Target's reg from the entire store...not just baby stuff.  Currently adding the stuff that isn't eligible on Amazon to  Target's.  And we have the RedCard so it'll be an additional 5% off after the 15% discount.  Also, people said that when they're in the store at Target you can scan things onto your registry from your phone and they can't tell when you added it so you can add more. Can anyone confirm?

My wife and I have conceived a babe with my body and frozen donor sperm through IUI, with medication support (clomid, ovidrel, and injections of progesterone)

  • EDD? January 2

Symptoms? Achy back, sleepy, cranky... Starting to feel pretty big.

Upcoming Appointments? I have one on Monday, just a typical check up. Keeping an eye to see when baby will turn head down. There is obviously still plenty of time but I’ll feel relief once I know she is head down. She is transverse at the moment, I can feel her head on one side and bottom on the other  :D

R/R/Q? No, not that I can think of right now!

GTKY: If you could meet anyone, living or dead, who would it be and why?

my great grandmother who I am named after. I have heard she was an incredible person, loved to take tequila shots, and was kidnapped and released by Pancho Villa.
  • @roonilwazlib yes to adding anything to your registry while you're in store right before purchasing.
  • EDD? 1/06/19

Symptoms? Tired allll the time. Lower back and hip pain. Some crazy indigestion from time to time. Carpal tunnel ramping up a bit.

Upcoming Appointments? 32 week appointment on Tuesday. First appointment in my OBs new practice.

R/R/Q? 3rd tri with a toddler seems to have hit me harder and faster than 3rd tri did first time around.

GTKY: If you could meet anyone, living or dead,  who would it be and why?

  • @gorgeousariel @rooonilwaazlib anyone know if you can stack the completion discount with other discounts? Hoping to stock up with black friday sales + completion discounts and would LOVE if target let you do that
  • EDD - 1/3/19

Symptoms- Feet and ankles slightly swollen but no pain there. Breathing is a struggle a lot of the time. Staying awake enough to do things around the house is especially hard now after the time change (it gets dark before I get home from work) so the stress about getting the house ready for baby is ramping up.

Upcoming Appointments- We just had our 32 week appointment this morning and all was well. LO is measuring right on target and his heartbeat sounded good. We have two more biweekly appointments then at 36 weeks we'll start going weekly.

Rant- MIL couldn't figure out how to find our BBB registry and gave up after one try. Instead of just asking what we would like, took it upon herself to buy us a car seat. I was really excited about the seat we registered for and was pretty disappointed to learn that she just picked one out without looking into its safety info or reviews and the bases aren't sold separately (our plan was to get one seat and have two bases, one for each car). I know this is petty but she also didn't give us a receipt so we can't return it.

GTKY: If you could meet anyone, living or dead,  who would it be and why- I know there are people I'd like to meet but I can't think of anyone specific off the top of my head.
    Me: 23 DH: 24
    Married since 8/2017
This is our first and we are so excited!
  • @haycole I kind of feel like car seats and strollers are very "personal" type of items, where the parents' choice should be 100% adhered to. It's really generous of your MIL to give you a seat, because they are stupid expensive, but I totally get where you're coming from!
  • @haycole I would be upset too. Do they sell it at BBB? Maybe you could get store credit?
  • EDD: 1/1
SYMPTOMS: pelvis. So cranky. I gave my hubs stink eye for the way he was drinking water
APPOINTMENT: 11/23. I’ll have a food baby and a real baby
R/R/Q: the tdap shot man. My arm swelled up, hurt to move/touch, felt like crap the next day... a week later it itches and has a hard knot at the injection site. I hate the tdap shot!
LIVING/DEAD Person: I don’t know... I’d like to see my aunt one last time, I think.
  • @KLS123 yes I believe you can combine Black Friday deals with your completion discount. You buy the item on sale and then enter the promo code for your 15% off
  • @gorgeousariel excellent. mama loves a good deal stack

@haycole yikes. I don't think that's petty at all. Can you ask her for the receipt and explain your reasoning? I think those are are very very valid reasons for getting a different car seat.
  • @ChasingTheDog I got the TDAP + flu shot a few weeks ago on the same day and I literally felt like I was dying. I've had flu shot before where my arm only felt a bit sore and with no side effects, so I'm fully blaming the TDAP shot for my misery.  Good luck and feel better soon!

@haycole yeah definitely agree with others, it's not like it's burp cloths or something that's less personal a purchase.  I can understand you might feel awkward/uncomfortable asking her for a receipt, or to help you exchange it but you're the one who has to put the kid in and out of your car every day.  It's an important purchase.

My wife and I have conceived a babe with my body and frozen donor sperm through IUI, with medication support (clomid, ovidrel, and injections of progesterone)

    IUI #1, #2, and #3: Dec 2017, Jan 2018, and Feb 2018 - all BFN
HSG Test: April 2018 - all clear!
    IUI #4: April 15/16, 2018 - BFP!! EDD: Jan 7, 2019

  • @haycole if it's too awkward to tell your MIL the truth, just fib and say the car seat model she bought doesn't fit properly in your vehicle according to safety standards so you unfortunately won't be able to use it. Then ask her for the receipt and get the car seat you want.
