My 12 week appointment is tomorrow afternoon. Hopefully we’ll get to hear the heartbeat! It makes me a little anxious they weren’t able to pick it up at 10 weeks, but trying to stay optimistic that it was still somewhat early, I guess.
I've got my 12 week appointment tomorrow afternoon too. With the size tracking, LO will only be 11 weeks though. Hopefully we can get the reassurance that everything's going well. I may elect for an extra one on Saturday before we announce it to DHs grandma that night. Just to ease my mind.
I'm having another elective sonogram in Thursday. I'll be 11 weeks tomorrow *TW* last time at 11 weeks is when i found out about my missed miscarriage. So We need to get through this week!*
Have a good appointment @kvh22! Good luck the rest of the week ladies @megsb615 & @kbeers13. I would get that extra sonogram to ease your mind @kbeers13
Tomorrow is just a day of appts for us. I have genetic counseling and the blood draw for the NIPT testing, the NT ultrasound along with special scans by the perinatal clinic, especially to see if the babies have a barrier between them at all, and then after all that I have my 12 week appt with the midwife.
I’m anxious a bit for the scan. I just always fear the worst. All in all, a long day of appts!
Thinking of everyone! @missy052819 good luck at your appointment!
Everything was good. My OB wasn't late, but I got called in early to check my BP and weight since I arrived early, so I feel like the discussion with the OB being faster than the waiting time has officially commenced. Quick doppler and discussion of questions and the NT scan.
ETA @megsb615 Did you ever get the HB # from your doctor? Just remember, it's not that they couldn't find it, they just didn't give you the specific #. I'm sure it was all good!
My appointment is in 40 minutes - we already got the genetic screening results in (low risk) and gender (girl) but need to go in for NT ultrasound. I just wanna hear a heartbeat to ease my anxiety.
@kvh22 Glad you had a good appointment!! The NP didn’t give me the heartbeat # since it was just on their little roll around ultrasound machine. She said it looked great, and it was obviously flickering away, so I’m hoping all is fine. I don’t feel like anything has changed, but PGAL brain just has me pretty anxious.
Our appointment went great, and we got to hear the heartbeat even though baby was moving a bunch and my OB would have to find it again! So so relieved! ❤️
Depends on the practice. If everything is looking good at around 33/34 weeks then my OB has you come in at 36, then 38, then I think it’s weekly but I have never made it past 38.

My practice is every 2 weeks starting in the 3rd tri. I asked about it recently, bc my first pregnancy was higher risk so I never went more than two weeks without an ultrasound and for the last 6 weeks got 2 per week. I know that’s a lot, but when they told me I’d go a month between appointments at times during this pregnancy I freaked out. I’m just used to more!
I had my twelve week appointment earlier this week!
I had a transvaginal ultrasound for the first time and it was less uncomfortable than I thought it would be, but definitely not comfortable. For some reason I thought I'd be less likely to get the transvaginal as the pregnancy went on - baby is bigger and therefore easier to see??? - but apparently no because I had the regular abdominal at my 8 week. Maybe because there's more to actually see now it's better to see better?
Heard the heartbeat (my favorite part of both acans so far!) and saw the baby waving! Or at least with his or hand up by his or her face where it was easily visible at a couple different angles. I called it waving!
I posted about this in the genetic testing thread, but I thought we'd do the NT scan at this appointment and we didn't. According to the OB I saw (I'll cycle through because who knows who will be on call when I deliver) they don't do an NT at this practice because it isn't as accurate as NIPT and other more invasive tests. We were hoping to use the results of the NT to decide whether to o the NIPT and then, if so, use that to decide whether to do any further testing.
And now I don't know whether we should do the NIPT or not!
@kayforever usually once you're 10 weeks they *can* do abdominal but mine at 10+3 was still vaginal to avoid any added stress of not being able to find the baby/hear the heartbeat. My 12 week NT was abdominal which is standard. I thought once you get to 11 weeks abdominal is pretty normal but 12 would be odd to have a vaginal.
