Water Challenge w/o 11/4

Let’s try to get those oz in! We need between 80-100 during pregnancy. Post your progress below as you drink to motivate you, even if you just start off with 8 oz. Drink up, ladies!

Beverages included: water, sparkling water, herbal/non-caffeinated tea, hydrating sports drinks (but be mindful of the sugar)

Beverages not included: coffee, soda, energy drinks, caffeinated tea, alcohol, etc you get the gist

  • Water still makes me puke so I've been drinking a lot of Bai. One 18 oz bottle already down.  


  • I will join- I am horrible at remembering to drink during the day, but trying really hard to drink my water but haven’t been getting nearly enough yet

  • I have a 32oz water bottle with a straw that makes it SO easy to drink enough. But I have no idea what I did with it, so I'm working with a cup and probably won't drink as much today 😩

  • I have about a 30oz Yeti cup with a straw that I use every day. It makes it so much easier to track, three refills a day and I'm done!

    Thankfully I'm already a pretty big water drinker, so upping my intake hasn't been too difficult. I've just gotten used to just sipping it all day.

    Seriously, for anyone who struggles to remember how many glasses they've had or has a hard time keeping track (like I used to when I first started trying to drink more water), my advice would be to use a big water cup/water bottle versus the standard 8oz glasses. It will truly simplify your life and give you one less headache to worry about. Added bonus: you actually don't feel like you're "torturing" yourself by drinking so much water, because you're only refilling it two to three times a day versus eight to ten times!! 🙂

  • I typo’d earlier, should’ve been 26oz. Just finished my second so I’m at 52 total
  • @expandcontract I got it in my last BumpBix. It’s called NutraPre and it has the basic vitamins (C, B6, B12, thiamin, riboflavin, folate, biotin, and iodine). It’s supposed to help with nausea as well. It tastes like plain water!

  • Great idea! I use the Fitbit app to track my ounces of water and try to get 120oz in. Weekends I find them harder and when I travel. 
  • Ive only had 8 oz so far 😂 but I’m about to
    embark on 32 oz of sparkling water flavored “ginger lime zen”, hoping it helps with nausea too. 

    @mrskoz428 that prenatal water sounds interesting!

  • Great idea for the thread! I’m usually so good about drinking water but I’ve fallen off the wagon and I’m getting killer headaches as a result. But 24 oz in and going strong on the next 24! Hoping to down 120 oz today as we’re heading to the pool this afternoon and that’s always so dehydrating!
  • @DuchessOfCambridge It’s quite nice, especially because as I get further along, I’m getting good at forgetting to take my prenatal vitamin every day.

  • Finished a 12oz la croix. I don’t know how I am possibly going to drink anymore. And I’m pretty sure my coworkers are irritated with the amount of bathroom breaks I’ve had 🤷‍♀️
  • @mrskoz428 I got the first box for 40% off and it arrived two days ago. Sounds like the same one and I wasn't impressed. I didn't do a pregnancy journal with DD (not my thing) so I'm definitely not going to be able to keep up with it for this LO. The fizzy B6 is good but otherwise I'm ehhh on it. Have you gotten more than one box? WhatdW you think?

    Also, I've had about 36oz so far. How are you drinking 8oz glasses? We have pint glasses which hold 16oz so I'm conservatively estimating 12oz per glass. I use a 20oz water bottle during the week but DD loves water bottles and insists I share but she can't hold it herself so it's too complicated.

  • @kvh22 yes, it’s the same one. I’ve gotten two so far. My first one had antacids, weekly bump stickers, belly butter, B6 fizzy stuff, a “napping for two” eye mask, and a few snacks things. Last month, I got the prenatal water, pregnancy journal, water bottle, body lotion, coupons, protein powder mix, and some snack samples. I haven’t used everything but I’ve enjoyed most of it minus the snacks stuff. I love journaling so the pregnancy journal is right up my alley. I’m holding off on getting a third one until probably December so I’m further along into my second trimester. I definitely wouldn’t do it every month but like the option of once a trimester.

  • Working on a 12 oz G2 (low sugar Gatorade). I can’t do anymore water. It’s SO boring!

  • @mrskoz428 try adding lemon or other fruits.  I can drink a lot more water if I add a lemon.  
  • @fatmonica I do a lot better with ice, too! I don’t have ice at home, just at work. I just bought a lemon for a bump picture, since baby is the size of a lemon. I’ll have to cut it up for at home!

    I failed pretty bad today. Only 40 oz which is obviously not even half my body weight 😲 but I can't anymore, I need a unisom and my bed

    I've had 1 full glass and 2 half glasses 🤦 and I had a 20oz soda 🙈 so I'm kind of failing miserably
  • True Lemon is my shit. That, ice, and a straw helps me drink a bunch. 

    I have to pee every 5 minutes. We’ve gone through so much TP here the last few months  :#

  • I bought a 52 oz Bubba insulated mug this weekend and I'm going to try very hard to drink at least 1.5 per day. I'm a terrible water drinker, so this is going to be a real fight for me.

    We have a water fountain but no ice machine so I've made it my plan to stop at the gas station on my way to work every morning to fill it up with ice and water. I think that will help me drink it better.

    I'm also going to go buy like 5 lemons and juice them and then freeze the juice into mini ice-cubes to put in my water every day. I feel like lemon water is much more palatable to me and maybe I'll be better if I do that...

    Working on my first tumbler or water.  I feel like my ice takes up a lot of room though, so even though it’s 30oz, I’m not sure how much I’m technically getting. 🤷🏼‍♀️

  • @keighty80 I have a bottle of RealLemon lemon juice in my fridge at home for cooking. I think maybe I'll get one and keep in the fridge here and get a good, large cup with a straw and just go fill it up every morning. I just need to get all my materials together and get into a routine. We do have fruit infused water at lunch, so I down a big glass there, at least.

  • This is a great idea!  I keep a (what I believe to be, it doesn't have a measurement on it) 40-oz Hydro Flask at work, and drink one before lunch and one after lunch.  I still get home and feel parched.  I'm still in a water-needs-to-be-cold phase lest I gag, so the Hydro Flask definitely helps.
    DD born PPROM preemie at 36 weeks on 10/1/17 after over a year TI, 
    then 3 failed IUIs, and finally a successful IVF FET.

    Due with #2 5/2/19 after HIO once in my FW,
    because apparently that's how life works now. Team Blue!

  • Thank you so much for starting this!! I'm normally a very good water drinker and have been horrible so far this pregnancy. So thank you @DuchessOfCambridge. I am making a conscious effort today to drink more. I have a 24oz bottle on my desk which on my best days, I fill four times during the workday. So far today it's been about twice.

  • Normally I'm a big water drinker but since about 5-6wks I haven't been able to stomach it. I'm 10wks6d and it's finally getting better and I've been able to drink a few cups a day. I'm so sick of sweet drinks! Hoping to be back to normal in the next couple of weeks.
  • Tried Bai today. WAY to strong for my liking. It’s softer with ice but wow, without it, it’s hard!

  • Just finished a 1 liter (33.8oz) seltzer. Hope I can get at least another 32oz today but 50 more would be ideal!

  • I finished the day with 68oz total! Much better than yesterday 40, hope I can hit 80-100 tomorrow

  • Finishing my last water to get to 50 oz today. It’s a real struggle. Maybe tomorrow will be better. 🤷🏽‍♀️

  • I did horrible with my water today-  30oz in- I will have a little bit more before bed- hope to do better tomorrow.  I am still nauseous in the afternoon/evening so hard to drink a lot of water r
  • I'm going to join in on this. My water intake has been awful lately and I'm still nursing DS as well. Keep up the great work ladies!
