:D  :D but I think that is the plural, no??

@mrsclark731 I'm not into placenta pills but I totally hated on breastmilk jewelry and then ended up getting a necklace made  I got so emotional when I was done breastfeeding and decided to get some jewelry and was just like WHO AM I

  • Add me to the list I feel like I'm in a disaster area. My bedroom looks like an episode of hoarder's with the amount of laundry baskets in there, but at least they're clean I guess 🤷🏼‍♀️  My Dr. called today and told me to stay in bed and all I could think of was cleaning my house first.

OMG you're right!!! I've literally never had a reason to use or read the plural. It sounds so...cheesy.

I got this pendant. Sent her an ounce-ish of my milk, she made it into this.

  • @expandcontract @DuchessOfCambridge someone in my last BMB got a ring made. It looks like a really pretty mood ring, almost, which sounds juvenile but wasn't from her pics - sort of like an iridescent pearl. I can't remember all of the specifics.

  • @mrsclark731 I encapsulated my own placenta the first time. I will not do that again and I likely won't bother finding someone to do it because they made me sick.

That is SO weird but also very pretty! I can't decide if I'm judging you right now or not. Lol. I really like the pearl one!

@DuchessOfCambridge My cousin’s wife talked about wanting to do that, but I’m not sure if she ever did. I looked at the link, and the breast milk (eta: necklace haha) is pretty. I can’t say I wouldn’t do it. I saw that they even do umbilical cords and placentas. I’ll be honest, the umbilical cord stump always looked so weird to me. 😬

I believe we have finally reached the stage where I think we’re going to have to be careful about saying cuss words in front of DS. This truck about rear ended us.. like tires squealing and smoking. Scared me to death since I’m in a car, so I said WTF. And now I don’t know if DS is saying truck or f*ck 🤦🏼‍♀️ #momfail
OMG! That is scary AF! Thank god it didn't hit you! Also,  let's just pretend he's saying "truck. "

  • @expandcontract I didn’t make a big deal of it since DS loves a reaction, so I’m hoping that was that. 😬 I’m so ready to get a bigger vehicle. The thought of getting into an accident in my car with DS (and now baby #2)  in the car makes me so nervous.
  • @eatinwatermelonseeds 😂😂😂 I’m laughing so hard right now. That’s hilarious!
  • @sleepy33 We announced our pregnancy with my daughter once I was officially divorced for a year (separated for longer) and he was only officially divorced for a month (his ex staaaaaaalllllled).  It happens.  Totally on board with your FFFC though :) We still aren't married and there's no ring.  But there IS a nice tax return for my single self...for now ;)

DS1 is 7.  DD is 1.  DS2 is coming in late April.

Judge away! I’m so glad I did it for my crazy emotions 😂

  • @DuchessOfCambridge I have a breast milk ring that I stack with DS’s birthstone ring! I love it!

I guess that leads to my confession: I still have a bag of colostrum in my freezer from when DS was born (2+ yrs ago). I just can’t get rid of it even though I know it’s not usable. I did use some of it for the above mentioned ring.
  • @DressageDarling I bet that’s pretty! I’d like to get either stacking rings for DS and Baby #2 or one of the personalized bar necklaces.
  • @DressageDarling I almost did stacking birthstone rings for DS and future kids but I thought that might be a lot since I want four 😂 I decided to wait and get a mother’s ring when we’re done having children but in the meantime, I’m probably going to get a different piece of breast milk jewelry for each child. I realize that sounds similar to birth stone rings but it feels different to me lol

  • @DuchessOfCambridge What’s a mother’s ring? I’m starting to rethink birthstone rings since DS is August, and this baby would be May. DS had a Sept due date, so I can go with that, right? 😂
  • I have another confession. I don't want to get a job. Realistically I don't know how I would. Wednesdays are completely off limits. I have appointments every other Tuesday. Ob appointments are during work hours. I don't want to deal with the awkwardness of telling a new employer I'm pregnant. But DH is adamant. I don't think he will be so much when he's the one bringing DS to therapy every morning and having to help around the house and shit. I'm also not sure how I'm going to function in a 40h/wk position.
  • @eatinwatermelonseeds I think about this often and it's one of the reasons I'm hoping for a 3 day or 4 day nursing schedule. I could at least schedule therapy appointments to be on my days off. Like, I don't know what we'd do if I couldn't take him! H would have to take off work since they're only open during work hours. Sometimes I don't love that I'm a SAHM right now (even though I begged H for months and months for us to somehow figure out how I could SAH before DS was actually born) mostly because I miss my salary HARD, but I do think it's the right thing for our family.

But to bring it back to you, that does sound really difficult.

  • @megsb615 they come in a variety of styles. I've seen some with a birthstone for each child, some include names, some are knotted styles where each "rope" represents a child, and some I've seen just a diamond for each child instead of a colorful birthstone ring. I think I'd probably go the diamond route depending on how the stones all looked together - it would go with everything and would still have special meaning without being in your face. I haven't decided yet but it's still years off. It'll likely be a big purchase so I'll take my time thinking about what I like best haha. Sorry the pictures are so huge! In spoiler. I can't find a good picture of a non birthstone one

  • @DuchessOfCambridge see, I am trying to avoid hospitals because they do 12s, and yes it's only 3 days a week, but God. I just don't know if I have it in me right now. And here new grads get night shifts about 90% of the time. I'm applying to clinic jobs. Full time positions, but frankly I'm not opposed to part time really just to squeeze in appointments. I would really like to take at least 4 months off after baby. I want to get C to kindergarten so I'm not paying $2000 a month for daycare for two kids 😳 and I agree, I'm not sure how I'll feel not taking him to therapy. If I worked Wednesdays, I'd have to cancel his ot, speech and ABA and have him in a full day of daycare that day. Whatever. I'm just going to apply. If I get a job, great, get DH off my back 😂 if not, then great, I don't have to work and maybe I can go to Maryland in February 😂
  • I recently stepped down from full to part time at work. I just couldn't keep up even now. Ugh I feel for you guys. @eatinwatermelonseeds is part time an option/worthwhile?
  • @DuchessOfCambridge Ooh ok. The birthstones would be pretty with 4 different ones. I like the idea of diamonds too though.
  • @eatinwatermelonseeds that all makes so much sense. I really value time off so I think I could do 3 12s though I know that means sacrificing weekends. It IS nice to have the predictability of a 9-5. My friend worked part time 24 hours a week and she would work 1 pm to 1 am and that seemed really nice! And then there's per diem options if I can't commit to 100% right away but I really hope I can. I feel like that beginning point is trying to make your career and I have DREAMS. But I also have DS who is more important than my career dreams.

  • @DuchessOfCambridge that makes sense, and I knew a lot of people who loved it but i did my preceptorship doing 12h nights and I hated it. Like, you work 3 days TECHNICALLY but I had to sleep all day the day before I worked and all day the day after or I was a zombie. So, really I'm unavailable 4-5 days a week. I had to wake up early to take DS to therapy so I would get like 5 hours of sleep, take him, get ready for work and work another 12 hours. I don't know. Days might be WAY better. This is just my experience from a short 8 weeks. And I was also still in classes and doing assignments and shit so that might have made it harder. Weekends don't bother me, though I wouldn't mind not working weekends or holidays lol. I do want to go back in October of next year and do a residency. Maybe work in L&D. A clinic job now (especially in ob) might look good for that. As much as I don't want to work, I do have a hard time with the idea of sitting on my license for a year.
  • @mrsclark731 at least you had it encapsulated and didn’t just fry it up with some onions. I’ve heard of people doing that and it just pushes me over the placenta-consumption edge.

Re: birthstone rings - I decided I wanted a ring for each baby because one day I want a ring on almost every finger but I want them all to mean something. I’ve got one for DD1 but haven’t got one for DD2 yet and she’s already 2. 😬

    DD1: June 2014 - VBM4lyfe
    DD2: October 2016
    DC3: coming May 2019

  • @megsb615 I’ll try to post a picture tomorrow of them if I can remember 😂 I’m not a huge jewelry wearer so rings are kind of my go to if I actually want to wear something on a regular basis.

@DuchessOfCambridge mother’s rings are such a great choice too! My grandma had one that got passed down.
  • @DressageDarling Please do! I wanted to ask you to take a picture but didn’t know if that’d be weird 😂

@troystory17 It is hard not to laugh at! My son would keep on if he knew we thought it was funny though, so we just have to laugh afterwards! I can’t have him dropping the F bomb at church daycare. 🤦🏼‍♀️
