to answer your question, 2 complete gentle cycles (one for each baby) at first, so about 30-40min, every 3 hours for the first five days. then until empty plus 10 minutes on normal mode (about 30-50min as well) to increase my supply. now it’s only until i’ve pumped what the babies eat in a feeding plus about 20% and i turn it off regardless if i’m empty (to dial back oversupply).
@booksandcoffee uggghhh I'm sorry. I hope you get a ton of sleep asap, and feel well-rested.
Today is my last day at work before leave, which is bittersweet (I like my job a lot, but I'm relieved to not worry about going into labor at work). I ordered a cookie delivery for our staff meeting today, so I'm excited to treat everyone.
Had 37wk appt today. Down a few lbs but they used a diff scale this time so *shruggy guy*. BP still perfect. Lulu HB 135 and measureing good. 1cm dilated (aka holy hell thanks for the tonsil check lady). Worst news GBS positive. Booooo!!! Tried to convince my OB to let me get the "bubblegum medicine" instead of IV antibiotics. Apparently that's a big old negatory she ruins all my fun lol. But I have decided to make sure while I'm at the hospital to take 15-20 mins to relax in the hydrotherapy tub once Lulu is here.
Bonus info: so today at work we had a scheduled pizza party to celebrate passing our audit last week. Unbeknownst to me it was also a surprise baby shower so overwhelmed by the generosity and love everyone showed. I have the best work family possible. We are like... Baby ready!

@lurvleybunchococonuts Just FYI, you're not supposed to take baths after giving birth so they might not let you take one after you have Lulu. So sweet of your work place to throw you a baby shower!
@offtoneverland noooooo!!!! stupid lady during the tour is a fibber (granted she just gives the tours/paperwork not a nurse so harrumph). Damnit!

@lurvleybunchococonuts I could be wrong, but I think it's an infection risk after giving birth since your cervix will be wide open. Also, you'll likely be bleeding a ton, so a bath might be kind of icky.
@offtoneverland I don't remember being told I couldn't take a bath, but I definitely spent most of labor in the tub to handle the pain? Post party didn't have a tot for us though, but that post labor shower was amazing. +1 on the bath probably icky with the lochia.
Booooo well than I'll just have to hang out in it in labor than also totally wasnt thinking about all the blood and nastiness

@lurvleybunchococonuts I'm sorry about the GBS and the bath, but I'm glad you had a work shower! OMG I also had a tonsil check this morning at my 39 week appt.
This morning I had my 39 week appt, dilated 3cm, 75% effaced. My OB scheduled me for an induction on Nov 8 (my due date) because of my blood pressure which was creeping up a little higher today. She stripped my membranes, so we're hoping baby girl comes before the scheduled induction-- fingers crossed! I feel kinda achey now, but no contractions yet (besides BH contractions).
Speaking of all this breast feeding... does anyone have nursing bras they recommend that aren't totally hideous Granny-bras?? I know it's not that big of a deal, but for me, when your body isn't what it used to be, anything to make you feel better about yourself helps.
@kbyahn I got some nursing bras from Kindred Bravely and I just love them. I got the Sublime full coverage bra and even though I have a large chest (DDD) I can wear the bra out of the house without feeling like I'm bouncing all over the place or sagging. They have several other bras too that I haven't tried.

Now everyone in the house is sleeping except for me and the baby who is headbutting my bladder.
