Also don't forget the nursing pads, I used reusable ones a lot! You might not necessarily want these in your hopsital bag, but given the nursing tank convo, they go hand in hand.
TTC #2: April 2018 ~~ BFP: May 2018 ~~ EDD: January 2019
-A few pairs of high rise big underwear. I didn't have a CS with my first but it's good to be high enough over wear a scar could be plus they are comfy. I also only brought dark colors because blood.
-Black robe. I wore this as soon I could take a shower
-Size or two up in comfy pants (I had lounge pants), again black
-Nursing bra and cami
-Toiletries. I brought everything travel sized for DH and I to share.
-Hair dryer
-Something semi-cute but still comfy to wear home. I wore black leggings and a chambray maternity top.
-Flip flops or slippers to wear around the room
-Nipple cream
-Breast pads
-Chapstick
DH
-Two changes of clothes and underwear
-Extra pair of shoes
-Wallet
-Snacks and water
Both
-Phones and chargers
-Bluetooth speaker
-Extra bag
Baby
-Going home outfit. I would bring premie, newborn, and 0-3 month. DD was swimming in newborn clothes but we never tried premie because she was a normal sized baby I thought
-A few receiving blankets. We used the ones the hospital provided mostly but it is nice to have a couple of your own. Plus we used one and then sent it home to let the dogs smell too before we went home.
-Boppy or nursing pillow if you plan to BF. I didn't use mine with DD at first because it was hard in general and I wish I would have sooner.
-Swaddle velcro swaddle, didn't have the first time, definitely will this time.
We brought the baby stuff in a diaper bag and our stuff in a ThirtyOne tote. Very consolidated and not too much fuss. I didn't want a ton of stuff we wouldn't use. Things like blankets, burp cloths, diapers, wipes, and such will be there for you to use. We didn't dress DD until we left, she just wore the little t-shirts they gave us. A lot of people want their own pillows and towels, for me it wasn't worth packing extra stuff. I just used the hospitals scratchy and tiny towels lol.

I wore DH’s sweats and long sleeve shirt to the hospital and wore the same clothes when we left to go home. I didn’t shower while in the hospital (showered right before I went in at 10pm and spent that night and one more night). Yes I felt kinda gross, but I just wanted to go home and use my own shower. I wore hospital gowns the whole time I was there. It was easy to nurse and to have them check me. I was glad we brought phone chargers and a notebook to write things down as doctors came in and out checking on DD.
DD- 11/2016
I ended up bringing WAY too much stuff to the hospital though. I really only needed my two nursing nightgowns, socks with treads on the bottom, toiletries, my robe, and my charger for my phone. All I needed for baby was a going home outfit and blanket for going from the hospital to the car.
