@ndz2018 my doc said because I'm thin, that sometimes linings don't get super thick and that's ok. Obviously a thinner lining worked for implantation last time, so I didn't push it. But the more I think about it the more I think I am def going to pop a few extras. I have also considered taking baby asprin and would love to know also if it could hurt at all, I don't think so? @kristimh80 did you take baby asprin without dosctors orders? I remember someone one July FET did and I can't recall who
@beachbunnyxo123 woohoo!!! congrats on taking final BCP! I will hopefully be taking my final BCP dose tonight and starting estrace to prep my lining. I am just waiting on insurance approval - and I plan to harass the insurance company all day tomorrow until they approve me lol. Looks like we might be transfer buddies!!
@ndz2018@leilee101 I heard the same (good things) about others taking baby aspirin so I asked my RE about it. He kind of just shrugged his shoulders and said if I want to take it that's fine and it couldn't hurt. So that response for me was enough. If it can't really hurt, and might help - why not right??
@leilee101 Yes, I took baby aspirin on my own. It helps to circulate the blood flow a little more to the uterus...least from what I remember! I'm actually still on it due to my OB's instructions. Just know you'll probably need to continue to take it for awhile

@ellemarie7 I’m also going to be taking a low dose steroid for 7 days. I asked for the kitchen sink this time and said I’d take anything that would help and not hurt. So I’ll be taking vaginal probiotics for 7 days after AF, estrace, baby aspirin, lovenox injections, medrol, PIO, and Benadryl three times a day to help with immune response. I’ve also been eating GF and DF for over three months and take prebiotics and probiotics twice a day. Between all my pills and vitamins I’ll be taking 18 pills a day! But I know it will all be worth it! Are you taking medrol or prednisone? Any other meds?
@ndz2018 it usually only goes down about 1mm so I would expect you to still be over 8 which is great. Type 1 is good at this point. They like to see it at type 3 before transfer which means the lining is triple layered. My nurse says it doesn’t become type three until after PIO is added because the interaction with the progesterone causes that effect. Looks like you’re right on track!
Hi 👋 first time posting here so sorry if I’m not fully up to speed with all abbreviations ect Husband & I are both 30, started trying almost 3 years ago and found he has super low progressive motility. Got put straight on the IVF waitlist as were told our chances of natural conception was less than 2%. Started our first cycle last month with ICSI , 29 collected, 23 mature, 11 fertilised and 9 frozen at day 5. Just got the call I am scheduled for FET on 20th Nov 🙂 Very very excited Neither of our families know about this, just a couple of close friends. Its nice to be able to share little things with others, I don’t want to bore/ gross out friends with body function talk haha Nice to meet you all
@secret-snowdog this is a great place to come for support and just talk during the whole process. Welcome to the group Will be thinking of you!!
@beachbunnyxo123 I’m with you on the kitchen sink approach at this point. We’re basically on the same protocol minus the vaginal probiotics and benedryl (I would be passed out all day haha) but I have heard about people going on that to help with the the immune response. 18 is a lotttt of pills daily but YES this will all be worth it! I’m on prednisone, started it early this week to quiet the immune system and then if it’s successful I’ll be on it to 12 weeks I believe. No other meds but my acupuncturist did switch my prenatals to Prenatal Pro Essential Packets over the summer - they are huge pills ugh and I take two packets a day but they have folate instead of folic acid in them.
Also ladies...just left my appointment this morning, lining was almost to 9 (8.91)! Thickest it’s ever been for me, so as long as bloodwork comes back where it needs to be we’re on for 11/8. That feeling of equal parts excitement and nervousness is creeping in lol
@leilee101 I am soooooooooo happy for you I'm at work right now but I wanted to just start clapping ecstatically when I read you were fiiiiiiiiiiiinally down to a big fat 0!!! Congrats! Now, let's get this show on the road! Also, yes, I also took baby aspirin back in July for my last FET and will be taking it again this time under doctor's orders, starting the day of my transfer which is still scheduled for December 7th.
@ndz2018 I don't remember the estradiol making my ladies hurt. We want them to hurt after the transfer... not before!!
@secret-snowdog Welcome! I think that is so cool that your family doesn't know. We tried for 3 years also before going to IVF. At that point, I couldn't keep it a secret anymore. My family has been so supportive but it does take the whole surprise factor out of the equation, which sucks! I can't believe you had 9 embryos make it all the way to freeze! That's so awesome!!!
@beachbunnyxo123 I feel like I'm also on a kitchen sink regimen. My doc has added antibiotics to my FET this time and it's a shit ton of antibiotics! I'm talking antibiotics pills like 4 times a day, then I go to 2 shots of antibiotics a day plus all my other meds. Sheeesh... it's alot.
I have to ask you ladies this... My clinic has never ever mentioned anything about acupuncture to me but I see that almost all of you do it. Does it really help? I've never had it done in my life although some would argue that all of these shots could be considered acupuncture. LOL! How often do you go? Would it just be up until day of transfer? I wouldn't want to do it after transfer. Where do they stick the needles? See... I am so clueless about this topic. Thoughts? aaaaaaaaaand GO!
@ellemarie7 wow that’s a great lining! Maybe the baby aspirin is helping too! I hope the meds help my lining to be thicker this time as well! The Benadryl I took last time and was so tired but adjusted after a few days. It was three times a day so when I finally felt not tired I had to take it again lol. I also switched to methylfolate as well just to be safe! Are you taking estrace for your lining?
@kimberlyshae what other meds are you taking this cycle besides the antibiotics? Those sound like a lot!!!
@beachbunnyxo123 right...I was shocked! I definitely think the baby aspirin could be helping this time around, too! Yes I am on estrace, currently two pills three times a day! Got to stop the Lupron last night thankfully, I get the worst side effects from that. Should be getting the call today for the rest of my schedule for the week/when to start PIO. Yeah that's rough with the Benedryl haha but at least you get used to it!
@kimberlyshae hi! Joined into this group late but nice to meet youu! So I've done acupuncture before TTC for anxiety and it really helped me. I started doing it again this summer for fertility, and go to an actual "fertility acupuncturist" as that's a specialty. I'm doing twice a week for two weeks leading up to it, then right after transfer again. A lot of clinics actually have an acupuncturist on site to administer it immediately after transfer that I've read about! So I think it's definitely one of those things that don't hurt, and can help...so maybe try it!! It's not as scary as it seems, I fall asleep every time lol because it's so relaxing to me! Where they put the needles can change each visit, depending on what they are trying to accomplish in that session. You talk about where you are at with your cycle/meds/transfer dates/etc. and they go off that. Definitely worth looking into!
@kimberlyshae I know!! I googles and it seems that breast/nipple tenderness is a side effect oh well.
I START MY PIO TOMORROW !!! For those of you who don't know after my retrieval in Dec 2017 I have been benched from a surgery then delay after delay after delay! I am still in disbelief this is actually happening in less than a week.
Congrats @ndz2018 for starting PIO tomorrow! You and I are on the exact same schedule.
I just got my lining check too @ellemarie7 and I was at 10.5! I was really happy cause I had been anxious about this appt. My issues with the lining in the past appear to have just been the clomid. For both my pregnancies and subsequent MCs my lining was good around 11.
I start PIO tmw every other day and endometrium suppositories. I've never had an issue with progesterone but I think this is just an aggressive/everything but the kitchen sink protocol. Fingers crossed it works for us and little Embryo # 7 or 8! We don't know the sex, we want it to be a surprise but will probably find out around 8 weeks if we are lucky enough to get pregnant!

@ellemarie7 hope you get your plan soon!!! So exciting!!!
@ndz2018 yay that’s great news! My favorite trick for PIO- I draw it up and then keep the syringe between my boobs for 10 minutes to warm it to thin the oil before I inject. Makes it less lumpy once it goes in! You got this!
@manders85-2 that’s a great lining! Hoping everything goes smoothly for you!
@kimberlyshae i was willing to try anything even though i'm a big skeptic. i started doing acupuncture with my first fresh transfer and just went a few times before (1x weekly) and then immediately before and after transfer. that time ended in a MMC and so the acupuncturist recommended a more long term regimen -- honestly, they prefer to treat you for a considerable time both before and after transfer -- to get your womb ready and then help sustain the pregnancy. for my second transfer, i started going about a month before, again 1x weekly, and then continued 1x weekly after transfer. that also ended in MC. my acupuncturist said my blood/qi was weak and she put me on some herbs. i did have a really strong AF after that second D&C and i think the herbs/acupuncture helped. i also had my thickest lining of all three transfers after going for almost the whole year. i've made it 9w and was just discharged from the RE. i think my acupuncturist wants to see me at least through 12w. i'm trying to now go every other week since acupuncture is expensive AF and not covered by my insurance. Her flat rate is $80/session, but if you buy bulk sessions, it goes down to $68. I am able to use my HSA/FSA card though.
in terms of where they place the needles, before transfer, a lot are in your womb/abdomen region and maybe one or two right below the bra line. they typically also put a few in your wrists, around your knees and ankles, and on the tops of your feet. they also stick one in the middle of your forehead and sometimes in your hair/top of your skull. around transfer, they include some in your right ear and maybe put a small mustard seed under a mini band-aid in your ear to press occasional for trigger points. you always want to wear tops/bottoms (not dresses) so that you can easily lift your shirt to your bra line and unbutton pants to lower waistline and tuck into undies so they can access the area above your pubic bone. it helps if your pants are loose so that you can roll them up so they can access your knees. you take of all shoes/socks and watches/bracelets. mostly the needles don't hurt, but occasionally they stick you just right and you may get small blood or bruise. you lay on the table for 30-45 minutes and then they come take them out and that's it. they may also put a heat lamp on you depending on the circumstances. it's a good time to relax or nap. again, i wish i knew the science behind it's benefits, but haven't been able to find much concrete stuff. trying to have a little faith in the process. it's one of those things that if you have the financial means to do it, it can't hurt... and at minimum, can be very helpful to destress during this very stressful time.
@ndz2018 WAAOOOOOOOOO.. !!! Dude. so soon. Good luck with PIO, the needle is wayyy more intimidating than it needs to be. @secret-snowdog Welcome! Hoping you are a one and done kind of lady @ellemarie7 wow, nice thick lining! So glad that you got a good report, 11/8 is soo soon! @kimberlyshae ahh I know it took forever, right?? I did acupuncture for my July FET and I am def doing it again for this one. I think it helped my lining and circulation, and I think it really helped with implantation. Even if that part is all in my head, it DEF helped me to relax, put me in a trance every time. I did it once a week, and then right before and after the transfer. This time I plan to do the same, but (hopefully) continue into the first trimester to try and help prevent any future losses (idk if that's even a thing but I'm planning on it) @manders85-2 nice lining! and omg I just read your TTC journey and saw a) how long it has been ... hoping this is it for you, and b) 32 eggs!? Holy crap. Hoping you only need one!!
@kimberlyshae I am doing acupuncture too!! I started last year and then upped it to two treatments a week from the start of my FET cycle. I swear it’s what helped us get pregnant the two times we conceived naturally. I am also doing acupuncture the day of transfer too!

@beachbunnyxo123 I'm taking all of the normal stuff... patches, endometrin, medrol, zpac, baby aspirin, PIO shots and then adding in 4 daily antibiotics for 2 weeks and then a 2 week break from antibiotics, then antibiotic shots twice daily starting the day of transfer.
@ellemarie7 I'll have to see if they have one on-site at the hospital. That would make it alot easier for me.
@manders85-2 & @ndz2018 Those are both good linings and congrats on starting PIO tomorrow.
@northbeach3 Congrats on making it to 9 weeks! How exciting Do you feel like you can relax a little bit now? Also, thank you so much for the information! It sounds scary, I'm not gonna lie, but if you say it's relaxing, I might give it a try. I totally didn't mean to rhyme there but I guess I did. Anyway, I'd much rather have a massage though. I wonder why they don't recommend a massage instead of accupuncture. It would also stimulate blood flow and relax you.
@ndz2018 YAY!!! @kimberlyshae My RE didn't recommend accupuncture either. She did it once with her IVF twins and didn't do it with her last IVF baby did said if it makes you feel better, then sure do it, but didn't think / know it helped a ton.

@manders85-2 WOOO!!! Awesome news, so happy for you. Can't believe it's next week for both of us - so you're putting two in also? Same. I'll be thinking of you! @ndz2018 you too! It's cool there's three of us going into this the same week So I think you guys are both on progesterone for 6 days, so an extra day than I am. Which now I'm wondering if they don't have me on it long enough before transfer! I was told to start 11/4 - so that will be for five days. I'm probably over analyzing everything at this point though. Thoughts?
@beachbunnyxo123 thank you!! Nurse actually just called me - blood-work came back good so we're officially on for 11/8.
@kimberlyshae totally! Ask around too, someone at your clinic might have a good recommendation for someone that could be convenient
@ellemarie7 they told me for pio that the transfer is on the 6th day... And I take mine in the evening so tonight is my PIO number 5, I have my transfer TOMORROW, and then my PIO number 6 tomorrow evening... So technically 5 days prior to FET, is that the same case for you??
Gah I'm nervous ladies! Not that it's going to hurt or anything, but slightly nervous like I hope nothing goes wrong when they go to thaw it, and nervous for it to finally be the time to see if this works or not 😬 I have to be there for 8:00 but idk the exact time of my transfer or anything
@ellemarie7 I would call your nurse and double check that you start your PIO on the 4th... At least that's what I would do, I also ask my nurse everything from "Is it ok the get my flu shot?" to " Is it ok to get my cortisone injection for my back this weekend so close to transfer ?" LOL She literally told me today not to stress so much lol.
@mkr_0128 Fingers crossed for you tomorrow. I'm not sure if the doc gave you valium to help you relax but that stuff is amazeballs! Hoping for a smooth transfer for you
@kimberlyshae it really is LOL - it's like the only day during this whole thing you are actually relaxed.
@ndz2018 yes just confirmed I start morning of 11/4! Oh I'm the same way...I always say, "Am I so dramatic" and they are like yes but you're not the only one and you're not the worst. So whatever right?! Haha
THANK YOU @babydust2507, @ellemarie7, @ndz2018, and @kimberlyshae!!! I will update here ASAP afterwards tomorrow!! Then it's home to my parents to pack up the cars and get last minute things done to leave for our move Friday morning! Of course DH will be doing the lifting of all the boxes and bags 😉
@mkr_0128 TOMORROW ALREADY?! Ahh so exciting I can’t believe it got here so quickly (easy for me to say, ha!). They have gotten so good at freezing and thawing I honestly don’t even think that’s a concern anymore.. Good luck tomorrow! Keep warm all day and take it easy after transfer.. no heavy lifting! I can’t believe you have to move the following day you are an angel I would be losing my shit. Goo team November!
@ndz2018 thanks for the welcome 🙂 No testing done at this stage, drs said because we were young and had an obvious motility problem not count or quality issue then it wasn’t recommended at this stage. @kimberlyshae My mother is a nurse and it will be MIL first grandchild so secrecy was our only option for sanity haha yes we were very happy with 9 little embryos @mkr_0128 good luck
Hey @ndz2018 i love the coloring book! We're only transferring 1 @ellemarie7! This is our first time so we're going with 1. Nurse just called with blood work. 760 E2. So it's high but they want to keep my on my high dose of 4 patches.

@leilee101 I know!! Looking back it did come quick, but I wouldn't have said that as the days and weeks crept by lol. Thank you 😁 I am definitely not looking forward to moving right after but I'm hoping the 6 days of travel will help me pass some of the wait even though I'll be doing nothing but sitting 😖
First PIO in the books! Let’s hope it’s the first of many!!! Oh and I did all by myself! I leave for work 2 hours for MH leave so I didn't Want to wake him up.
Nice work, @ndz2018! I can't believe you did it by yourself! Did it hurt? I realized I actually start my first PIO tmw. I'm on an every other day schedule starting 11/2. Transfer on 11/6. My endometrin starts tonight though and increases 2 x day tomorrow! ahhhh. It's all happening!!

Husband & I are both 30, started trying almost 3 years ago and found he has super low progressive motility. Got put straight on the IVF waitlist as were told our chances of natural conception was less than 2%. Started our first cycle last month with ICSI , 29 collected, 23 mature, 11 fertilised and 9 frozen at day 5. Just got the call I am scheduled for FET on 20th Nov 🙂 Very very excited
Neither of our families know about this, just a couple of close friends. Its nice to be able to share little things with others, I don’t want to bore/ gross out friends with body function talk haha
Nice to meet you all
AFM, WOW this estradriol have got my boobs sore AF! Anyone else boobs get sore from estradriol??

@kimberlyshae what other meds are you taking this cycle besides the antibiotics? Those sound like a lot!!!
I START MY PIO TOMORROW !!! For those of you who don't know after my retrieval in Dec 2017 I have been benched from a surgery then delay after delay after delay! I am still in disbelief this is actually happening in less than a week.

@secret-snowdog Welcome! Hoping you are a one and done kind of lady
@ellemarie7 wow, nice thick lining!
This time I plan to do the same, but (hopefully) continue into the first trimester to try and help prevent any future losses (idk if that's even a thing but I'm planning on it)
@manders85-2 nice lining! and omg I just read your TTC journey and saw a) how long it has been ... hoping this is it for you, and b) 32 eggs!? Holy crap. Hoping you only need one!!

@ellemarie7 I'll have to see if they have one on-site at the hospital. That would make it alot easier for me.

@ndz2018 yes just confirmed I start morning of 11/4! Oh I'm the same way...I always say, "Am I so dramatic" and they are like yes but you're not the only one and you're not the worst. So whatever right?! Haha
@kimberlyshae My mother is a nurse and it will be MIL first grandchild so secrecy was our only option for sanity haha yes we were very happy with 9 little embryos
@mkr_0128 good luck
We're only transferring 1 @ellemarie7! This is our first time so we're going with 1.
