Hey all, I know not everyone pays attention to TTGP board and threads, but there's been some crazy happening over there the past week. As you may or may not know, they get a LOT of drive-bys (Usually insensitive one-off posters who are asking if their HPT looks PG or some variation thereof). This can be exceptionally hurtful for those going through MC, IF, and RPL. Oftentimes, these drive-bys are treated with some snark and the posts can turn into a GIF 'war' to lighten the situation for everyone involved who may have been hurt by the OPs.
Last week,
@dpjennifer responded to a drive-by who posted 3 separate threads, and was jailed for her tame response. Her response was actually a question to the admins about why regulars tend to be banned and warned regularly, when one-off posters are treated with kidd gloves.
While the jailing is a temporary thing, it is still for 6 months; during
this time, she is unable to start any new threads and she can only comment
approximately once every 5 minutes both of which can hamper her ability to give
the kind of support she is known for.
The blackout is meant to show the admins that the regulars who are here day-in and day-out are their meat and potatoes for site traffic, revenue clicks, and the ones keeping this forum going. Without the regulars and long-time members of The Bump, this site is nothing but Google for drive-bys and not really a community.
If you are interested in showing your support, and want to participate blackout tomorrow, it involves
not logging in to the bump
at
all and not just
refraining from posting.
