  • It finally feels like fall here but the leaves are still all green, I have foliage envy right now (but not snow envy).
  • It’s perfect here.  Low to high 70s. We’re hitting the pumpkin patch tomorrow. For once we won’t have to worry about somebody losing a boot in the mud.
  • @thechickendance our leaves are already past their peak. It was so short lived....
  • I’m hoping to finally get some more stuff unpacked this weekend from our move.. which was in mid-August  :D

It’s damp and cold here today. Which corresponds to my mood since I have the worst chest cold.

DH was the best and got up with the kids this morning and let me sleep. I’d put out but I’d also drop snot on him so that’ll have to wait.

  • @becks_726 that looks so pretty and cozy! Still in the high 80s here with like 90% humidity
  • We have fall weather here and it’s so wonderful!! We hung up our Halloween decorations and are going to get pumpkins Monday. Still need to get my mums for the porch pots. And I made the yummiest pumpkin bread yesterday. YAY FALL!
  • We have fall weather here too, which is great! But I have yet another mountain of grading, which sucks. I am so much less efficient these days, I just can't focus and keep getting tired. Must push through so I don't have to deal with it while doing everything else during the week, blergh
  • It feels freezing here because it's so windy! My dds and I harvested the rest of our tomatoes, onions, peppers, and carrots last night and made homemade tomato soup. I was really impressed with how well it turned out!

  • @eggsandwich2019 I’m in the same boat this weekend. Ugh.
  • Has anyone done a good job at sticking to a healthy diet? My struggle has been having the energy to cook and prep healthy meals/snacks. Especially being prepared when Im at work and on the go. I just ordered a weeks worth have healthy food, but hoping someone has some tips or ideas! When I put my maternity shorts on Thursday and they were tight AF!
  • @lzzfrancisco All I want to eat is junk food. I'm normally a pretty healthy eater, but I've really had to make an effort not to give in and get McDonald's every day for the past few weeks.

I keep a bag of healthy trail mix in my handbag for snacking when out and about, and I always have fresh fruit at home which requires no prep! All my meals are low prep because I hate spending time cooking. For getting enough veggies I make a huge batch of soup or stew that can be frozen. Right now there's a container of butternut squash & sweet potato soup in the fridge, but I usually make something with lentils or chickpeas to fill me up. Roasted veggies with fish is also quick and easy to make, I use carrots, onions, potato or sweet potato and tomato, cover with tin foil and put it in the oven for an hour and chuck a cod fillet on top of it for the last 25-20 minutes.

My lunch at work is pretty much always leftovers from the day before. That's definitely the easiest, as long as you have access to a fridge and microwave at work!

  • @izzfrancisco I struggle with it too because I’m still having pretty intense cravings and aversions so I can’t meal plan like I do when not pregnant. I stock up on healthy, veggie based freezer meals from TJs to be honest. Lots of cauliflower or sweet potato gnocchi, cauliflower pizza crust, veggie lasagna, etc. Even if the meals I have on hand in the freezer (like orange chicken or ravioli) aren’t super healthy, they’re better than ordering pizza or hitting the drive thru lol. I LOVE cooking and would cook a huge meal every night if I had someone to do all my dishes lol. With my husband working nights I have to be the person to cook AND clean which I just never have the energy for anymore!
  • @izzfrancisco it's such a struggle. I hate cooking for one and really DH is the one who would usually keep our meal plan on track. Combined with cravings/aversions, it's a lost cause. The only thing that saves me from a toddler diet is meals in the freezer (thanks, mum!).
  • I took my boys and my niece to a pumpkin patch today. 2 hours of that and I'm just done. I can't believe how much that took out of me. I hurt everywhere! The next 15w3d are going to be fun.
  • @lzzfrancisco to be fair I have pretty junky eating habits, especially when non-pregnant. But for me I find it easier to add things, rather than cutting or going all-or-nothing. So most days I aim to add several fruits and veggies and eat high protein. I find that adding things makes me less likely to eat the bad stuff and I don’t feel bad about it when I do. I also always keep almonds and granola in my car which helps keep me away from Starbucks muffins...
  • Also I had potstickers for dinner 4 nights this past week, so I’m clearly the picture of health lol
  • I love yalls ideas and perspective. I think trying some healthy freezer meals is a great idea. I havent been successful finding them at Kroger or Aldi, but Im willing to make the trip to Trader Joes. Ive never been!!
  • Maternity jeans are officially the devil. I’m tired of having a saggy ass.
  • @Izzfrancisco- I am super struggling with this. I had been eating super healthy for about a year before this pregnancy, and I have totally fallen back to eating random extra baked goods and sweets, which is my kryptonite.  I am really trying to course correct but once you fall off the wagon... 😕

@smallbutmighty77- Happy new house! Wish I had a pineapple to give you.  It takes time to make a house a home... it will happen!
ETA: oh, wait, here ya go: 🍍
  • @lzzfrancisco , chili thrown in the crock pot is easy to freeze in single servings, Dh just made some today!

@smallbutmighty77 congratulations! Moving and getting settled is hard. Be kind to yourself and prioritize the things that really matter to you.

We've lived here a year and it still feels a bit empty.  :/
  • I do not envy the moving!  I’ve been in this apartment almost three years and I feel like we just settled in lol.

we had TWO birthday parties today...I’m exhausted and so was DS.  He didn’t nap and he fell asleep at 530 on the way home.  We tried waking him because that’s really too early but it was meltdown city.  He fell back asleep and hasn’t woken up yet - I’m sure he’ll be up at like 4am  :(

  • @sjnsjnsjn the house I grew up in had a pineapple door knocker. We just moved back in here and my knocker is still there! I love it so much.
  • @lzzfrancisco HAHAHA I learned my first time around that LO does ALL the diet dictation. I was so cute before I got pregnant thinking "it'll be hard, but I'm gonna stick to my diet the whole way through!" Then I got pregnant and could literally not keep down anything except white bread and cheese. And all of a sudden I realized why gaining weight after pregnancy is such a common thing.
  • We're about to have a very Fall festive morning and head to an apple orchard about an hour away at the Wisconsin border, for apple picking, corn maze, hay rides, all that jazz.  Of course our timing, to be there and back for my two year old's nap to not get totally messed up, requires him to be up now, which he's not, and out the door in an hour. Because of course he would sleep in the ONE day it's actually problematic. :)
  • DD’s bday party was so fun but exhausting! She skipped her nap of course so she was super wound up but in a cute way. She kept walking around saying ‘2nd Birthday!’ DH and DD are still sleeping so I am enjoying some hot tea and the quiet.

@smallbutmighty77 congrats on the new house and getting the move done! I can’t imagine moving wile pregnant with a toddler.
  • @sjnsjnsjn- are you goin to Apple holler?  I work near there and it’s alway so busy! Good plan to go early, I hope it’s not too crazy for you guys and you can make it home by nap time!

  • @JamieH2000- Ha yes, on the road now!
  • Starting to sink in. Starting to have alot more of the oh crap moments. Thank you Bump for the count down, but please stop! Then the weather change was like it's fall, yay but that means February is almost here.

Then my major oh crap moment: a friend gave us a ton of stuff. Super grateful but got it in the house and realized this is happening. She gave us a car seat with 2 bases,a pack n play, stroller, high chair and a swing. Not to mention nursery decorations. Hit me like a ton of bricks...
  • Our nursery now has a crib in it! We're in the process of getting the other boys furniture rearranged. But it's really starting to look like a real baby is going to be coming into this house soon. 15 weeks from Tuesday actually!
  • @jessier19 grading is so much harder while pregnant, no? It's the worst part of the job to begin with and then it's like a dense fog has descended upon my brain and I can't even pretend to do it quickly. Sending you good vibes that you'll get through yours as quickly as possible!

@lzzfrancisco it's all carbs and cheese over here as well. I don't know if it is "unhealthy" but I'm not as balanced as I was pre-pg
