I've been getting contractions every time I move, especially if I walk more than 2 steps. They last almost a full minute. They aren't painful until the end. I'm so glad this is my last week. Going much longer makes me feel ragey.

So my surprise shower was this weekend! I had no clue, and was actually thinking it was next weekend! There were so many aspects that were sentimental and so thoughtful! I spent the rest of the weekend washing and sorting everything but our house is still packed to the gills! Pictures in spoiler!

They had a “funny onesie” contest and this was the winner lol!

All the gifts that baby is spoiled with.

This is the bedding we bought when Babies R Us was going out of business and MIL had them match it with the cake!

This diaper cake was shaped like a boy (there was a girl one too since we are team green) but the hat on the baby boy is the one DH wore home from the hospital! MIL kept it and I thought that was so sweet!

These were from my mom. There is a Cinderella one under it. When you bought the movies from the Disney store when they came out (1995) you got a special lithograph from the movie. They were mine when I was a kid and my mom had them framed to hang in the nursery!

I feel like a broken record lately, but I’m just SOOOO uncomfortable, I want to cry. Getting through the work day is super rough. And add in mid-afternoon contractions the last two days, and it’s even more fun.

I feel like I'm in a constant state of discomfort. Walking hurts, sitting hurts, laying down in one position for too long hurts

@tessiesmom26 Your shower looked lovely!! There were so many sweet touches. I love,love, love the framed Lion King lithograph. I just saw the Lion King musical this weekend on the touring show and it was amazing! It brought back so many wonderful memories of childhood

@tessiesmom26 Your shower looks like it was beautiful and so creative! I have that same Lion King lithograph but haven't figured out what to do with it yet. It doesn't go with our Finding Nemo themed nursery, unfortunately.

@runningyogimama Hugs, friend. You can do it! With DD I felt comfortable up til the end of my pregnancy and it's crazy how this one has been so much different. Even trying to sit and watch TV with MH has been difficult because I have to change positions every 2 seconds to get comfortable. And I can never get comfortable while sitting at the table trying to eat.

I agree with everyone in regards to being uncomfortable. At least there is light at the end of the tunnel.

Been uncomfortable way more with this one than the other two, but I think of it as practice to prepare for labor.

Ugh, insomnia. It’s after 4 am and I’ve been up since 3. I guess my body thinks I’m cool with a few hours of sleep these days. I can’t get back to sleep for the life of me, so have thrown in the towel. Today’s going to be a long one.

@wildrainbow Must be something in the air. Our DS has made our sleep schedule a living hell this week. He's always been difficult during bedtime, but this week especially is kicking my butt. The good news is that our nighttime routine won't change too much when the baby arrives. Lol.

@ftm_jen That happened to me last night too. DD woke up because she needed medicine, and when I got back to bed I realized how hungry I was! I hate eating in the middle of the night though because it makes my stomach hurt.

So, Hurricane Michael swept through the tiniest corner of Alabama and pretty much wrecked my home town. My dad may have issues getting here for the birth and to watch ds. I'm trying not to freak the F out about that.

On a positive note, the storm brought fall to the area and it was in the 50s last night. Also, I'm going to try and get a massage today, as I just want to relax after my super crazy week of differing delivery crap.

@wildrainbow Oh no! I'm so sorry to hear about the hurricane wrecking your home town. Is your dad's home okay? Hopefully he'll still be able to make it for the birth of your baby. We got just a tiny bit of the outskirts of the storm here in Maryland, and it's really pretty this morning with the cool fall air and leaves all over the ground.

MH and I have been taking turns staying home with DD all week because she's had a fever since Monday. I thought it was just a cold, but we took her to the doctor yesterday and she has strep throat! Poor thing. It's 9:15 and she's still fast asleep in bed, so hopefully she's sleeping it off. Anyone have any tips for getting toddlers to take yucky gooey antibiotics? She hates them.

@offtoneverland Their house is fine, but they had a lot of trees down, two of which are blocking the driveway as well as power lines down, my sister, who is a nurse, said the hospital has been on generator power since the storm hit because so many lines are down. Pretty much the whole city is out of power, and despite how fast crews work, it takes a while to put up lines.

As far as doing the medicine, I usually put it in a syringe, so I can give it fast. I also tell ds it will make him super strong. He likes superheroes.

@offtoneverland it’s not the pink amoxicillin? DD loves “pink juice”! Offer something she does like such as juice or popsicle right before or after? Or tried and true have DH hold her down while you use the syringe...

Thanks everyone for the suggestions. A syringe is a good idea but I don't think I have one. I'll have to search in the medicine cabinet. So far I've been spoon feeding it to her and giving her some crackers afterwards, but it takes a lot of coaxing.
@lifesabeach85 it's white and says it's fruit flavored but boy does she hate it! It's going to be a long 10 days.

I just read the "introduce yourself here" thread title as "INDUCE yourself here." THATS how ready I am!

I'm so tired and heavy and my feet and fingers are swelling. I wake up in pain instead of at all refreshed. I almost broke down last night from thinking I have 2 weeks to go feeling like this (or worse!). I also have so so much to do in these 2 weeks and I have no idea how I am going to do them.....

@offtoneverland - DS HATES antibiotics too. We use a syringe to make it quick, and if that doesn't work we mix it in yogurt or applesauce.

We'll probably run back to the pharmacy tomorrow to see if we can get some.

all the adrenaline has worn off from yesterday, and now my body is reminding me how rough childbirth is on it. everything hurts. up for my first motn pumping.

@mockingjay1 THANK YOU again for all you wrote about what to expect in the nicu in the medical complications thread. it really made me feel better.

baby b actually ate from a bottle late yesterday evening! she was sucking a paci, so the nicu nurses decided to try her on a bottle too, which went well from what dh reported. they were going to try baby a on a bottle at the next feeding too. we may get a chance to bottle feed them in the morning, and possibly i can try practice latching with them too.
