Im knitting a series of blankets. This one will be a smaller lovey style one with rainbow fringe. Then I’ll be doing a larger one with the same yarn on a bigger gague needle as a classic blanket.
@abbykwail - That's such a unique and cool idea. I've got a rough collie, too, and I can totally relate to the amount of fluffy fur that comes off these dogs. I've made a stuffed beanie kitty out of some old socks and stuffed them with my dogs fur. They turned out great, but the little beanies are fuzzy and could shed a little bit, too! A priest at our previous church had angora rabbits and sold yarn that he spun out of the rabbits fur. I swear it was the softest yarn I've ever felt before. Unfortunately it sold out before I could buy some for my sister, the knitter. I'd say, if you're willing to pay to have it made into yarn, what's the harm in trying it out? All that fluff would otherwise just be thrown away (and they're always shedding more for you!) It could turn out really neat!
@Lbloom I love the idea of using the fluff for stuffing, too! I hadn't thought of that!! I'll keep you posted with how much yarn a grocery bag makes, and how it works! (although I am a slow knitter and she said she likely won't finish spinning until the new year because of other
@lovesclimbing weirdly enough, my dog doesn't actually get the wet dog smell. I have no idea how, but he is very rarely smelly (unless it is his breath!) and that's a great head's up to expect questions, thank you!
What are you working on? I just made two pairs of fleece mittens for my daughter. One pair, she'll probably wear now, but I'll probably put the other pair on her stocking. And a few other pairs potentially. I used up some fleece scraps and plan to buy some more remnants for more pairs soon. These are pretty thin and basic, so I want lots of pairs that can be replaced when they get wet. I'll probably make some newborn pairs for this baby soon, too.
It's so nice to get out my sewing machine after having it in storage all summer! I'm hoping to finish a few projects before the new baby gets here. I want to finish my baby-wearing cover at least. Also, trying to decide between making and buying one of the shower cap-style car seat covers.
I've made cloth wipes, burp cloths, 2 pairs of pants with matching hats and some bibs. I bought fabric to make a car seat poncho. I still have leftover fabric so I will make some washcloths and maybe a couple more pairs of pants.
I am still working on the DIY part of the nursery with the husband. So far we've built the dresser into the wall and added shiplap behind where the crib will go. All we have left to do at this point is the upper built-in shelves, finish painting the small, hang on the wall bookshelf, hang it and assemble the crib. I am waiting to do the crib because I want the black one (we bought white just in case the black never came back into stock - it's been out for months).
So not anywhere near setting up the nursery because DD1 is still in there and DH hasn’t finished her new room. But over Christmas break I am painting a Disney quote on canvas. I did the same for DD1. Besides that I have no motivation to do anything else. With DD1 I made curtains, a bed skirt, and made some of the wall decor.
@BuckeyeNut05 looks great, I’m a sucker for shiplap!

@mamakate1616 For DD1 her’s says “a dream is a wish your heart makes”. I can’t decide for DD2. I may go with another one from Cinderella or I have one I like from Sleeping Beauty.
@meggyme Adorable! I can’t knit, sew, quilt, crochet.... luckily my mom can and does so hopefully she’ll make a quilt and blanket for baby #2 like she did for my DD!

One of the blankets I made for her and some wall art I did.
