@msb615 I already comment on the board rules thread that I didn't approve of the snark. I can reiterate here that my comment was only about the fact that knowing them, I do think it was sincere advice but I see why it wouldn't come across that way.
@kvh22 I understand your point of view too. I see how it would be different knowing the poster. I’m not one to dwell over it, but it was a bit off-putting.
@meatballs37 I have spent the last 3.5 weeks calling the nurses line trying to reach my midwife to discuss my spotting and every time I have called, they have told me it’s “no big deal”. I can’t go in unless they invite me in, unless I were to go to the emergency room.
@sleepy33 if this test comes back negative, they said the would do an ultrasound. I am SO THANKFUL I finally got someone to listen to my concern.
@msb615 fair enough. I just find it odd that any provider would turn her away for 3.5 weeks. That sounds like horrible patient care. And you are right, not the place for that original comment, my apologies. But you have to understand it came from a place of hurt considering she wouldn’t apologize to loss moms for her insensitivity and yet isn’t banging down the door of ER to be seen for loss like symptoms. Again my apologies for my first comment.
@mrskoz428 If I were you, I would find another OB, yours sounds like they don’t have yours or your baby’s safety in mind. Sharp pain and wet bleeding in my mind signals ectopic pregnancy. I personally wouldn’t wait a moment longer to go in.

@meatballs37 hence my very tearful call to my OB again today and last night. I have definitely shared my disgust with my clinic about this. I’m trying not to bang down the doors because I know some spotting can be normal.
First I’ll say I know @meatballs37 in real life and even though there was some snark to her response her advice is sincere.
@mrskoz428 if my provider had ignored me for that long with your symptoms I don’t know how I could trust them to continue to treat me. The symptoms you described are not to be taken lightly and the fact that they dismissed them would have me running for the door. I hope that your appointment goes well and you get good news tomorrow but I would find a new OB.
@chucksmom15 honestly, I don’t think my provider ever knew I called. At my clinic, you get sent to a nurses line who reaches out to the provider if they feel it’s necessary. I don’t like the system, but I get why it’s in place. That’s why I have been persistent in my contact with them. The change in the discharge yesterday was what raised more red flags I think. Just staying positive. I’ll deal with the other BS after I get some answers.
@mrskoz428 I also go through a nurse advice line at my clinic (this is probably pretty standard), but for you to be having the symptoms that you're having for such a long period of time, and for those nurses to have not informed your provider, or ordered a freaking ultrasound, is unacceptable. I am just really concerned for you and I'm angry that you've been treated this way. Please, please, please make sure you get an US tomorrow. Even without the sharp pains and type of discharge you've experienced the first nurse I talked to ordered an US right away; the main purpose of the US was "to rule out ectopic pregnancy." Even though I really hope that everything is totally fine with your pregnancy, and it may well be and you should stay positive, ectopic pregnancy is not a light concern. I hope they are going to run your test quickly so they can get you an US right away if it's negative? I don't want you to be in limbo for an even longer period of time.
@mrskoz428 I've mentioned this elsewhere, but I had spotting with my daughter basically from BFP to 12 weeks. Every. Day. That's 8 weeks straight of spotting. My care was very different from yours, however. I had weekly scans to make sure baby was in the uterus and still okay/growing from weeks 6-10, and then they decided I would be okay until my NT scan. So I did spot for two more weeks after they stopped monitoring, but all was well. Anyway, I guess my point is that you really should find a new care provider, and you also need to be seen for a scan asap.
@misskimsue I will stand my ground tomorrow. ❤️ My momma bear coworker just called and said the same thing. I’m so thankful for all this support and for having my concern validated. I will be sure to demand (as kindly as possible) an ultrasound.
@meatballs37 I understand, and I appreciate your apology. I don’t know the story from TTGP, but as a loss mama myself, I’m sorry for anything insensitive that may have been said, and I can see how that would be hurtful.
First I’ll say I know @meatballs37 in real life and even though there was some snark to her response her advice is sincere.
Yeah....IDGAF. @meatballs37 admitted that her comment came from a "place of hurt" not a place of sincere good intentions. Whatever rude shit people have done to each other elsewhere shouldnt matter on a board like this, where the posters are living in fear for their children's lives.
So bc I said she was sincere in her advice you now get to be rude to me @missmcgonnagal? Just let it be and focus on the point of this thread which is to support the ladies that need it.
I can’t imagine what kind of dr or nurse would think that super sharp pains and over 3 weeks of bleeding doesn’t warrant at the very least an office visit id find a new practice ASAP GL tomorrow.
@mrskoz428 THANK GOODNESS! I'm so glad they are listening. And I would definitely push for an US given the stress you are having with this pregnancy. Please let us know how everything transpires.
@mrskoz428 I'm glad you are being seen but you really need to switch providers. If you can't I would make sure you tell your OB how many times you have called and left messages in 3.5 weeks and been brushes off incase it is an issue with the nursing staff. If the car you are provided doesn't get any better after that I would start looking around for a new OB. Even my old OB who I hated got me in asap when I had spotting with a previous pregnancy and did blood work and had me to follow up bloodwork everyday until we had a baseline to figure out wtf was going on.

Unfortunately, this is the only hospital/clinic I can go to because of insurance. However, I really do think it was a problem with the nurses and not my provider. I’ll be sure to mention something today. :-)

I would definitely mention it. They need to know their staff is not handling things properly. They can’t fix an issue they don’t know about.
Well, I just got out of my appointment. Infections came back negative. They did an ultrasound and found a small subchorionic hemorrhage that’s causing the spotting. Baby had a strong heart beat and I was measuring right on point. I feel SO MUCH BETTER! Thank you, ladies!

@expandcontract not much to me. I’m sure they couldn’t say too much in front of me. We shall see if anything changes. They let me get the ultrasound, no questions asked, so my mentioning it could have had something to do it.

@MaggieG183@chucksmom15 thank you. It brought so much comfort seeing the little flickering heart and watching the little hands and arms move around. I cried on the spot, partially from relief, partially from just pure joy. ❤️
So had some light brown spotting today. I am 9+3 today. First OB appt Tuesday. Called and they are letting me come in early for an ultrasound on Tuesday. I am hopeful all is okay but soo nervous. U/s on last Tuesday was okay.
